Chakras are energy centers where consciousness resides, defining character and problems. Your destiny (prārabdha) is created by past karma before your body forms. You control your present karma through action, speech, thought, and influence, but once acted upon, deeds become destiny governing future life and all current problems. The Mūlādhāra Chakra is the root foundation of consciousness based on that karma. It is the earth element, colored red for energy and Mother Consciousness. Its awakening brings safety, wisdom, and pleasurable energy, not physical sensations. The chakra's symbols include a four-petaled lotus representing the four ways life enters the world, an elephant symbolizing wisdom and prosperity, an inverted triangle for energy flow, and a coiled snake representing past, present, and future karmas—the dormant Kuṇḍalinī Śakti. Śiva (consciousness) and Śakti (nature) seek union here. Practice Japa and remain absorbed in meditation on the Self to attain Nirvāṇa. Applying yourself to meditation destroys the sorrows of birth. All desired tasks are accomplished, and life becomes successful. For a moment's Darśana, one studies for hundreds of births; the Guru strengthens faith, and the devotee swiftly crosses the ocean of existence. The yogi's sleep is a state of yogic consciousness where wakefulness is known within sleep, and day is known within night. It is a sleep without support, upon a white stone slab. In that sleep, one knows the day within the night. It is a sleep of knowledge, leading to the state of Nirvana. Through this practice, one meets the Supreme Person. The true form is revealed when one meets that Person. The guru's assembly reveals the true knowledge. The body is without a country; the divine person is wondrous. The priceless human form is meant for realization, where belief destroys the cycles of birth and death. The practice of Brahmarī Prāṇāyāma uses sound vibration to balance the brain's hemispheres. This yogic discipline is beyond mere exercise; it integrates the whole being. When perfected, this vibration purifies speech, enhances learning, and aligns the individual with the cosmic body. The path of devotion and Guru's grace overcomes the universal power of māyā. You cannot escape māyā, but by surrendering to the Guru and following the spiritual path, you can cross it. True bhakti brings divine intervention, as shown when Lord Jagannāth personally fed a starving devotee to preserve his family's faith. Perseverance is essential; like dogs chased from every village, one must continue without stopping until reaching the destination. When trouble arises, call upon the Guru for help to subdue it and proceed. Modern teachings often omit devotion to God and Guru, yet with pure devotion and faith, nothing is impossible. The mind wanders during practice; let thoughts come and go without following them, remaining focused. Do not complicate life by dwelling on the unchangeable past or unknown future. Live in the present. Stories help us recognize our own problems, which is the first step toward change. Feel the essence of prayer in your heart, for that feeling is more important than perfect form. "When you have all eaten and your stomach is full, my stomach is also full." "Why are you thinking that we don’t have? We have, Guru has." Miracles occur naturally around the sanctified but are not to be sought. A story tells of a man healed of leprosy through an herbal purgative and a mantra. He later, through simple faith in that herb, helped others find lost animals, reconcile a marriage, and even cause an invading army to retreat by serving them the same purgative. This illustrates that devoted service itself is the miracle. Seeking special powers leads to difficulty. "They don’t make miracles, but the miracle is there." Creation began from the interplay of space and consciousness, held in harmony. This harmony is yoga, the balance of our physical, mental, and subtle bodies. The sound Oṁ is the seed of all 8.4 million creatures. Human consciousness is distinct; consuming animals obstructs the path to highest awareness. True yoga requires systematic practice under a guide. The human body contains 72,000 nerve channels and energy centers, or chakras, rooted in the earth element. There is a difference in the qualities of expression between men and women. The essence of true mantra is found in positive, respectful, and harmonious communication that carries spiritual power, like a sacred poem. A guru's grace is essential for real spiritual liberation, not self-proclaimed attainment. All beings, even divine figures, have a guide.
