The body is temporary, but the mind and its attachments do not die with it. Souls undergo continual purification, like water flowing from mountain to ocean. A pure soul entering a negative environment is like a fish catching a specific raindrop to form a pearl. Heaven and hell are not permanent destinations but temporary states in an endless cycle, like a wheel where the top becomes the bottom and returns again. This is illustrated by washing a stained garment; through repeated cleansing, even deep stains are removed, and the cloth becomes pure once more. The reunion was marked by heartfelt embraces. The following day is for giving gifts and blessings, symbolizing generosity and shared sustenance. Therefore, one must honor parents, love all beings, and avoid harming them. The ideal is to not kill animals for food, though survival may necessitate it. The divine light of Diwali celebrates the incarnation of Bhagavān Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇa Mahāprabhujī. Diwali marks the return of Bhagavān Rāma to his kingdom, a day of light signifying a state where darkness cannot exist. All divine incarnations appear for the purpose of protection and liberation. This Diwali also honors the birth of Mahāprabhujī. His conception occurred nine months prior, when Śiva appeared to his mother during Śivarātri and prophesied the birth of a divine child. At the Brahmā muhūrta on Diwali, Mahāprabhujī incarnated. Miracles accompanied his birth: lamps lit without oil and white flowers fell from the sky. An astrologer declared the child a great soul and named him Dīp, meaning light. "All gods who come, one after another through the ages, come for two purposes: protecting and liberating all good ones." The path is positive and clean, not concerned with miracles or negative practices. Differences in tradition are only of language and method. The inner self is always good, but perception in the physical world can become obscured, like a thick fog. One can lose the way and wander. The correct path is found within the heart, not as an external definition. The heart and mind must work together. However, staying on the path requires a guide and a tool. Meditation is an internal process, yet instruction comes from outside. A mālā and mantra are essential for direction, like an airplane needing a flight path. The foundation, like the Mūlādhāra chakra, must be strong and deep, or the entire structure will collapse. "The path is within your heart." Those who surrender at the holy feet are like those seeds; they are not ground but come to the highest. Another story tells of a yogi saddened by slaughter; in meditation, it was revealed the karma belongs to the actors, not the witness. Satsang attendees are already there and will reach the supreme. The sound within, like the ocean's resonance, is Nādarūpa Parabrahma. This vibration is in the whole universe and within all. Do not sit passively like a dead body; respond and awaken to this sound. At that satsaṅg, the saint addresses a devotee by name, revealing profound awareness. When asked if one has a guru, the answer emerges from the heart: one is seeking a true guru. Following given addresses leads to an ashram in India. There, a phrase is heard in sleep: "There is nothing in the jīva, but go to the nitya." Travel continues to another ashram to meet the holy guru. An overwhelming energy is received upon meeting. A book is offered, and through grace, the ability to read Hindi is granted. Mantra-dīkṣā is received on a Thursday after offering fruit. Disregarding advice on travel days leads to immediate difficulties, demonstrating the importance of the guru's word. Returning home brings incessant tears and a longing for the ashram. The guru's loving permission allows return. Translations of sacred texts are undertaken as service, a gift enabled by the guru. Further travels and stays in ashrams follow, filled with divine experiences, protective grace, and deep seva. The guru's presence is ultimately felt permanently within the heart.
