The Nāḍīs, Cakras, and the Mūlādhāra Foundation

The Mūlādhāra Cakra is the foundational center of human consciousness and destiny. The three primary channels are iḍā (mind), piṅgalā (intellect), and suṣumṇā (consciousness), which distribute cosmic energy. Suṣumṇā connects to the Ātmā and has key stations at the Manipūra, Anāhata, and Sahasrāra. Mūlādhāra, at the spine's base, is the root support. It holds Prārabdha—your past deeds and destiny—which shapes your life's conditions. This destiny is a powerful, subtle energy you cannot fight, but it provides the reason for living. To understand and work with this, practice svādhyāya (self-study), manana (contemplation), and abhyāsa (disciplined practice). These remove the three obstacles: mala (impurity), vikṣepa (disturbances), and āvaraṇa (the veil of ignorance). Purification leads to viveka (discernment). The divine energy within Mūlādhāra is Kuṇḍalinī Śakti, which can be directed positively or negatively. Awakening it through techniques like Kriyā Yoga and Prāṇāyāma brings wisdom and love. Mūlādhāra's red color symbolizes Śakti, the Mother Earth principle, in union with Śiva, consciousness. Honoring this foundation through a natural, yogic life purifies mental pollution and aligns you with your true nature. "Destiny is from the past. And so our destiny is dormant in the Mūlādhāra Cakra." "Svādhyāya, Manana, and Abhyāsa, these three principles will remove the other three qualities: Mala, Vikṣepa, and Āvaraṇa." The earth and people of this land are sacred, infused with divine presence. Every child embodies the divine, and life's ideal is seeing every place as the abode of the Supreme. Your true nature is the cosmic Self, resting in the lap of the infinite. You have a universal right to contentment and joy, but the fleeting joys of the world bring subsequent sorrow. True peace is found within, at the source. The mind, however, is disturbed by countless thoughts, or vṛttis, like waves on a peaceful lake. Patañjali's yoga teaches the cessation of these mental fluctuations, which is more challenging now than in ancient times. You must accept three laws: cosmic, natural, and societal. Acceptance of natural change, like aging, is key to peace. Meditation provides strength to face life's inevitable truths and hardships, which are hard to digest. Theoretical knowledge of being the immortal Self is not enough; practical realization, which removes all fear, is the goal. Until then, follow the devotional path, using mantra and guidance. Shift self-inquiry from "Who am I?" to "How am I?" to purify your behavior and qualities. True meditation is not merely closing one's eyes; it requires the focused commitment of lagan, akin to love that overcomes all distance. On the path, many obstacles arise, serving as the best school. Do not seek glory from the crowd; true friends are few. Dharma—our duty and discipline—protects those who protect it. It manifests in relationships: between parent and child, husband and wife. Protection is mutual; safeguarding others safeguards yourself. Dharma, patience, a true friend, and a faithful partner are revealed in terrible times when all others oppose you. Without these, meditation is impossible due to mental disturbances, the vikāras: greed, insatiable desire, fickleness, and thievery of mind, word, and deed, including intellectual property. Stealing a master's teachings without acknowledgment creates bad karma. All true masters are connected like branches of one tree. Honesty and mercy are the roots of dharma; pride is the root of sin. Purify these first; then meditation can come. "Tons of theory is nothing compared with a grain of practice." "If you protect the dharma, the dharma will protect you." Practicing of the system 'Yoga in Daily Life', Level 2 - Part 2

We continue the systematic practice of Yoga in Daily Life, Level Two. Begin seated, chanting Oṁ three times. Lie in Ānanda Āsana for relaxation, progressively releasing tension from toes to head. Observe the natural breath, then practice the full yoga breath in three parts: abdomen, chest, and clavicles. Add arm movements synchronized with this breath wave. Proceed to stretching exercises, extending each side of the body and then the entire body with inhalation, relaxing completely with exhalation. Resume the Level Two sequence from Meru Pṛṣṭhāsana, a standing twist that energizes the body and increases spinal flexibility. Practice Catuṣpada Āsana, a forward bend that strengthens the back and legs. Perform Cakrāsana, a side-bending rotation that improves posture and digestion. Practice Dvikoṇāsana, a forward bend with hands clasped behind the back to open the shoulders. Move through Bhūta Āsana, a squatting posture that strengthens the pelvic floor. Perform Setu Āsana, the bridge pose, to strengthen major muscle groups. Practice Hastapādāṅguṣṭhāsana, a side-lying leg lift that improves balance and kidney function. Execute Sumeru Āsana from a kneeling position to stretch the calves and soles. Conclude the āsanas with Meruvakrāsana, a seated twist preparing for deeper postures. End with final relaxation in Ānanda Āsana, scanning and releasing the entire body. Sit for Prāṇāyāma, practicing alternate nostril breathing to prepare for meditation.
