True seva is the greatest spiritual practice, requiring the complete offering of one's being. Seva must be given with the full heart, not reluctantly. It is defined as tan, man, and bachan. Tan is offering the entire body in service. Man is offering the mind completely, without discrimination between people. Bachan is offering speech, where words must bring happiness and love. These three must be followed. Greed destroys this offering, while the humble immediacy of a child exemplifies it. Observing common courtesies, like allowing elders to proceed, reflects this knowledge. In gatherings, one should avoid disruptive actions. Dhana is not money; true dhana is what comes sincerely from the heart. Money is transient and often a source of corruption. The ultimate desire is not for wealth or heavens, but for the seva itself. Every being—humans, animals, trees—possesses this same divine sweetness within. Therefore, one must cultivate purity in every aspect of being and never harbor negativity or harm toward others. Like that ferryman, one must wisely use the opportunity for a master's presence, seeking guidance on the subtlest level. Our forms are evident, but we seek to understand the formless reality beyond them. Practice prepares the body and mind for this inquiry into where the soul ultimately goes. A meditation on becoming one with the divine energy within and without the body. Sit comfortably and close your eyes. Concentrate on your whole body, from head to legs and back. Focus on each part. Today, concentrate on Alak Purījī. Become your being completely thyself, for Alak Purījī is within and without. Be within this energy completely. Relax every part of your body, but remain present within it. In each part, you can feel prāṇa, power, divine light, and Alak Purījī. All is Alak Purījī’s energy. Expand thyself, but only as Alak Purījī. Do not open your eyes, for that means you have lost yourself. Becoming one is not easy, but the practice is given to continue for many years. Conclude by chanting five times in the whole body, rubbing the palms, placing them on the face, and then opening the eyes. "In and out, all is Alak Purījī’s energy." The interplay of divine will, human attachment, and the quest for immortality is examined through sacred narratives. Actions produce reactions, leading to blessings or curses from divine justice. Attachment, or moha, is a source of suffering, as seen in worldly examples and divine stories. Śiva had immense attachment to Śakti. When she disobeyed his counsel and went to her father's yajña, she perished in the fire. Śiva, in grief, withdrew from the universe with her body. To restore cosmic order, Viṣṇu used his discus to cut her form into pieces, creating the sacred Śakti Pīṭhas. Śakti later incarnated as Pārvatī. The celestial sage Nārada often sows discord, such as prompting Pārvatī to question Śiva's garland of skulls. Śiva explained each skull represents a past incarnation where she died from not following his guidance. Pārvatī demanded the secret of immortality. Reluctant due to potential misuse, Śiva finally agreed to teach her in a secluded cave, imparting the Guru Gītā. During the teaching, Pārvatī fell asleep. A parrot eavesdropped, repeating affirmations. Discovered, the parrot fled and entered the womb of a sage's wife. The unborn being, later born as Śukadeva, initially refused birth until the world was briefly made perfect. He ultimately received the knowledge of immortality from King Janaka. This illustrates the struggle with māyā and the necessity of a true guide for liberation. "Love is the greatest. That love is God, and God is love." This sacred island is the ancient abode of Bhagavān Śiva, his consort Pārvatī, and Nandī. A mountain here holds the complete form of the Divine Mother, visible from the airport. At its peak is a pure lake, like Mānasarovara, from which flows water bottled and sold globally as Fiji Water. Upon a large rock near this lake is the Swayambhū footprint of Lord Sadāśiva. On another part of the island, in Lambasa, a sacred black stone representing a śāstra nāga grew despite attempts to contain it, leading to the construction of the Nāg Mandir. This land is uniquely blessed, free from dangerous animals and abundant with food and water year-round, a protection linked to its sacred geography. "At the peak of that mountain, there is a beautiful lake, akin to Mānasarovara near Kailāśa mountain. The water of that lake is utterly pure, without pollution." This act symbolizes the sacrifice of negativity and ego into the purifying flames. The recitation of the thousand names of Śiva follows, a profound meditation for this age. The Satguru's name is the boat to cross the ocean of worldly existence. Satsang is the vehicle to heaven, like a boat crossing the ocean. Those who board the boat of the Guru's name with faith and service will be carried to the far shore. The mind is inherently restless, greedy, and thieving; it steals away good thoughts. Do not follow its desires. To control it, seek shelter at the Guru's divine feet. Worry is a disease that eats away at one's roots like a termite. We often blame others and do not accept our own mistakes, which creates mental illness. Guilt and hidden faults create fear that manifests as disease in the body. Surrender is essential. True devotion is an unbreakable attachment and purity. Hold fast to it to attain the divine vision. "Satguru nām jahāj hai, chaḍe sū utre pār, jo śraddhā kar sev de." "Man ke lagām lagāo... The power of wish must be guided by discernment. Whatever you wish is possible, but you must know what you are wishing for. A wish is desire, encompassing all worldly and spiritual aims. Before expressing a wish, know its nature, for once fulfilled, you cannot bargain with the result. Within desire lies Icchā Śakti, the willpower to fulfill it. Yet, without clear understanding, this power can lead to harm. You must discern the fruits of your desire before you act. Therefore, develop viveka—discernment and common sense—before you wish. Without it, desire will bring suffering, like a monkey stealing a basket hoping for honey but finding a cobra. Do not strongly wish without knowing the reality. Good, spiritual wishes God will fulfill. Negative wishes will also be fulfilled, resulting in suffering. The ultimate truth is devotion; in this age, repeating the divine name is the support that allows one to cross the ocean of ignorance. The resonance of Aum is the primordial technique to connect awareness with Cosmic Consciousness. This sound pervades the universe and awakens Śiva. A protocol exists for divine invocation, beginning with Gaṇeśa to remove obstacles, ensuring the success of subsequent worship. The essence of Śivarātri is the transition from darkness to light, facilitated by this universal resonance. Creation emerges from the interplay of space and consciousness, united by energy whose movement is the sound Aum. This resonance triggers illumination, manifesting as Śiva, the self-born source. The practice is a science of union, directing inner awareness toward that infinite light within. "Scientists at NASA researched the sound in the universe and within the sun itself. True creative work, done with love, becomes a lasting, divine offering. We must awaken from ignorance, for human life is a fleeting chance for spiritual progress. Sukha and Dukkha originate within the individual soul. All beings seek happiness and freedom from trouble. These two states are internal seeds, not external conditions. Negative thoughts and actions cultivate inner thorn bushes, whose fruit is fear and suffering. Positive thoughts cultivate divine qualities whose fruit is fearlessness. Spiritual practice is often initiated by the fear of suffering. Ultimately, every soul seeks its origin, like a drop of water returning to the ocean of divine consciousness. Śiva is the light of liberation, the divine harmony of truth and beauty. He acts when human effort is exhausted, rescuing devotees. This harmony is balance, devoid of conflict and selfishness. Śiva, as Mahādeva, is the greatest power. The individual soul (Jīvātmā) is connected to the Ātmā, which is one with the supreme soul (Paramātmā). Realizing this unity makes one a Mahātmā, and at the highest consciousness, a Mahādeva. The true Guru is that realized Ātmā, not the physical body, which is merely a container for that priceless diamond. Modern pursuit of money and technology represents a decline in consciousness. Scientific research cannot apprehend the soul; divine creation is perfect and beyond human replication. Manipulating nature, such as with sterile seeds or artificial conception, destroys natural harmony and leads to societal discord. True knowledge comes from spiritual practice, not instruments. One must live in harmony with nature, renounce selfish desires, and purify the mind to realize the inner Ātmā, which is the Paramātmā present in all. "Śiva means light. Yoga in daily life is the ever-shining sun, present everywhere. The program begins with purifying the body's impurities. Habit becomes one's second nature. A story illustrates this: a man jumps into a river to retrieve a coat, which is actually a bear. The bear catches him. The man wishes to leave the coat, but the coat does not leave him. This is the condition of dependency. People find time for negative habits but claim to have no time for meditation or good deeds. The mind is a reflection, like a face in a mirror; one cleans the mirror, but the spot is on the face. The mind must be corrected through techniques, good society, and meditation. The five sheaths of the being are the body of nourishment, energy, mind, intellect, and bliss. Liberation comes from mastering the mind, attachment, hope, and thirst. Give charity without expectation of return. This is the science of yoga for body, mind, and soul. "Habit is the second nature of the human." Mahāśivarātri is a worship of Lord Śiva, celebrating consciousness, liberation, and the universal principle. The Śivaliṅga is the central focus of worship, representing the entire universe. Śiva is the uncreated, endless consciousness that manifested itself. Śiva and Śakti are not genders but represent consciousness and universal energy. The divine resonance, Nāda, is the form of Supreme Brahman, from which Śiva manifests. He is the protector, as shown by drinking the poison to save the earth. The temple is within; self-realization comes from being present with a mind at zero. All religions are contained within the eternal truth. The duty is to protect the environment, as every atom is Śiva. Chanting the Mahā-Mṛtyuñjaya Mantra offers protection. The individual soul merges with the universal soul. "Śiva means consciousness.
