Evening satsang from Strilky

This evening's satsaṅg blends Bhakti, Rāja, and Dhyāna Yoga through song. Satsaṅg means sitting with truth, and truth can be sung. Kīrtan repeats God's name to connect with devotion and surrender. Bhajans contain the truths of knowledge and the path toward the Self. The gathered collective strength is very strong. The yoga system includes techniques for physical, mental, social, and spiritual health. Every person wishes to be healthy. The master is with us in thought.

"When I am sitting near my Gurudev, whom else should I hope to see?"

"Your time is passing without God’s name. Oh my mind, repeat your mantra."

Filming location: Strilky, Czech Republic

Guruḥ Viṣṇuḥ, Guruḥ Devo Maheśvaraḥ, Guruḥ Śākṣāt, Parabrahma, Tasmai Śrī Gurave Namaḥ. Oṁ Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ. Hari Oṁ, dear brothers and sisters. Hari Oṁ, dear brothers and sisters. We are gathered here in this beautiful ashram, the Śrī Mahāprabhudīp Foundation in Strilky, Czech Republic. Dnes večer tady sedíme v Mahāprabhujīp aśramu. And to all those sitting before monitors or computers around the world through this webcast. For this evening's satsaṅg, we have chosen something very simple yet profoundly powerful. After many lectures on Dhyāna Yoga and disciplines of Rāja Yoga, this evening we will blend Bhakti, Rāja, and Dhyāna Yoga together. This means we will have bhajans and kīrtans; we will sing. As satsaṅg means to sit with the truth, we can also sing this truth. Through kīrtans, we sing God’s name, repeating it many times, which connects us deeply with bhakti and surrender. On the other hand, we will sing bhajans, which contain many truths—Jñāna, Ātmā-Jñāna—and, of course, the path toward the truth. As we are here from many countries, we thought tonight we would have group singing, many bhajans. Our wish was for someone from every country to contribute, but perhaps that will not happen. Nevertheless, we are many here. We will begin now. I will not talk much. We will begin with our Míra from Brno, a very nearby city. [Bhajan begins] Gurudeva, Mere Jabba Pā Sakarī Mee Āsakaru Hi Sakhī Hi Sakhī Gurudeva, Mere Jabba Pā Sakarī Mea Saka Rūpī Sakī Sakī Bābā Sakī Sakī... Vāme Saki Saki Banatā Navcakā Saki Echavā Sakā Saki Chabarūpa Pachatahu Baru Saki. Calling someone else, please. Change, you. A little quicker, because we have only one hour. But in the meantime, I can explain: "Gurudeva, mere jaba pā sakā re me a sakā ru kī sakī kī sakī." It means: When I am sitting near my Gurudev, whom else should I hope to see? When I have found the One who is already in my heart, who is within my very being, and who is with me, then whom should I wait for? And now from Serbia. Thank you. And now, the group from North America, Canada and America. But until they begin, I would like to say: Is not this bhajan the one that speaks very briefly about what Swāmī Chidānandjī and Swāmī Gajānandjī were talking about this morning? It is. It is. [Bhajan continues] Nāma vinā, summa rāṇa karalī, mīramāṇa, terī viddhiyā marā, rīnāma vinā, rāṇa karalī, nipānta vinā, hasti danta vinā, dhanārī kānta vinā. I would like to call all groups together. Now I would ask the Slovak group, and I would ask all groups together. Yes, only one in the end. Sorry, but we have little time. Instead, I will invite the Croatian representative and the one from New Zealand, both together. Here, now. So, until they are coming, I would like to say a few words. No, wait. This is to say that, however we are connected today and on many other days through webcasting, in our yoga system—the System of Yoga in Daily Life—it includes everything. We have techniques for physical health, for mental health, for social health, and ultimately, for spiritual health. In the end, every one of us wishes to be healthy. Unfortunately, our dear master, Paramahaṁsa Svāmī Maheśvarānandajī, is not physically with us. But anyhow, he is with us because we are thinking of him, and I think that he is thinking of us too. He is with us because we think of him, and I think he thinks of us too. As we are so many and our collective strength is very strong, we will all sing "Juga Juga" for you, Swamiji. And, of course, every one of us wishes first for you to be healthy, and secondly, to see you. We will all sing "Juga Juga" to wish you good health, and secondly, so that we can see you. [Final Bhajan] Bule śrīdhi nāryaṁ bhagavāne kī je. Juga juga jīvoma Īśvarānandajī. Śrīdhī Padāyaluke Amṛta Āśiṣa Nityavāraso Ānanda Prabhudī Padāyaluke Amṛta Āśiṣa Nityavāraso Ānanda Juga Juga Jīvoma Īśvarānandajī Juga Juga Īśvarānandajī yā bhāgā-bhāratabhūmikā pragate vālamukandā yā bhāgā-bhāgate mukandā pahandā. Jee Jee... J Thank you for being with us. Hari Oṁ. Good night.
