On behalf of Alak Purījī Sītā Pīṭha, I convey the blessings of Śrī Devpurījī, Mahāprabhujī, and Gurujī. Many blessings and greetings to all of you from the holy country, India. Many of our brothers and sisters living in the ashrams also send their good wishes. As you know, I was in India for the last month. We celebrated our first Guru Pūrṇimā. This year we had three Guru Pūrṇimās. The first we celebrated in our ashram in Strilki, the second in Jadan Ashram in India, and the third as well. How is this possible? Everything is calculated according to Jyotiṣa, astrology. The exact dates depend on specific constellations and planetary positions. Astrology functions according to these celestial arrangements. Consequently, the timing can differ every year and every month. The influence of the various planets upon our world also varies. There are nine planets counted, though Mother Earth is not counted among them—and she is a very significant one. We may discuss this subject another time. Your birth constellation is determined by the planetary positions at that moment. From this, your horoscope can be accurately prepared, revealing what has happened, what is happening, and what will happen in your life—the good and the bad. In Sanskrit, we say Bhūtakāl (past), Vartamān (present), and Bhaviṣya (future). This all depends on those constellations. By performing actions at the right time, we can avoid many difficulties and achieve our goals. Furthermore, many problems we face in life, including those related to physical, mental, and emotional health, can be alleviated or healed through planetary influences. It is a science. However, very few genuine masters of this science remain today. It is a form of mathematics—very beautiful and precise. The person who studies Jyotiṣa should be spiritual and lead a disciplined life. Otherwise, they cannot be successful. To possess this wisdom, you need spiritual discipline. You will observe that all the great astrologers were spiritual, vegetarian, and their thoughts, words, and actions were perfect because they knew how to speak according to the time. They knew when and what to say. If we can adopt this path, it will support us in developing our spirituality, understanding our lives, and proceeding in a harmonious way toward success. To attain astrological wisdom, you need a blessing. Without the blessing of the Gurudev, you cannot gain this knowledge, nor can you achieve God-realization. You may try many things. Something might give you an experience, but it will not lead you further. Therefore, Mahāprabhujī said in one bhajan: without the Gurudev, you cannot be successful in anything. "Koti upāya kare koī cāhe"—you can try a thousand methods—"Na bhavasendu tere"—you cannot cross the ocean of ignorance. Thus, astrology is known as the third eye of God, and it is connected with the constellations.
