Seminar in Vep. Evening Satsang, 19th of August 2010

The meditation addresses the three tapas, the fires of worldly trouble rooted in negative astral forces. These are physical, divine, and spiritual afflictions. A specific mantra purifies these sins and brings supreme, unchanging bliss. The entire world suffers under these systematic obstacles. One must remain under the shelter of the mantra for protection. The practice involves deep relaxation and a full body scan to locate pain. Identify the source as negative energy. Invite a divine, healing light into the afflicted area through prayer and mantra repetition. Use the breath to draw in light and expel negativity. Chant to resonate light through the transparent body, observing the release of darkness. Consistent practice purifies the body and overcomes misery.

"All these three tapas, and the sins, will be removed."

"Inhaling is the first half of the mantra: take the energy in. Exhalation is the second half."

Blessings from our holy Siddhapīṭha, Alagapurījī Siddhapīṭha. This evening we will have a special meditation. Our recent retreat focused on solving problems. There are specific problems we call the three tapas. Tapa means fire, and here this fire signifies troubles. The entire planet exists under these three kinds of troubles, or tapas. These three tapas are connected to the āsurī śaktis—asuras, which you can call negative energy, devils, Satans, and so on. Asura is the opposite of sūra. Sūra means a hero, a good person; sūrya also means the sun, the light. Asura is the opposite of light: darkness, dark power, dark energy. The three tapas are: ādhibhautika (from the physical/material realm), ādhidaivika (from the divine/astral realm), and ādhyātmika (from the spiritual/self). Gurujī writes in a bhajan that all the sins of these three tapas can be, and will be, purified through the practice of a mantra. Gurujī says in this bhajan: Prabhu-dīpa-nirañjana-sabha-dukha-bandhu, prabhu-dīpa-nirañjana-sabha-dishi-mantra, śrī-po-ve-manam-jana, śrī-po-ve-śrī-dīpa-nirañjana-sabha-dishi-mantra. The mantra is: Prabhu dīpa nirañjana, sab dukha bhanjan. Oṁ is the universal sound, the origin, the cosmic sound. Prabhu is the protector, the one who incarnates on this bhūmaṇḍala—our earth planet, bhūmi. Dīpa is the light of God, the divine light. Nirañjana is pure, spotless, transparent. Sabha means all. Dukha is troubles. Bhanjan means to remove, to free, to take away, to solve problems. This mantra has been researched for many, many years. Not only thousands but millions of people have solved their problems and fulfilled their wishes through it. Tinoyi tāpa, tinoyi tāpa, pāpa mit jāve. All these three tapas, and the sins, will be removed. They will be completely rooted out. Avichala sukha pāve paramānanda. Chala means movements, changeable, not permanent. Avichala is not movable; it is steady, everlasting, the reality, the truth. You realize that happiness which will be unchangeable, which will always be happiness—parama ānanda. Parama is the supreme; ānanda is bliss. You will realize that divine bliss if you practice this mantra during meditation. These three tapas are troubles from physical beings: humans, animals, insects, wild animals, and so on. Then there are diseases: physical, mental, emotional, psychic diseases. And then there are troubles from astral beings. There are some spirits—sometimes we say ancestors are not happy if you have not done your duty. Or what we call a spirit may come without your knowing and constantly disturb you. You try day and night to do good things, and at the last minute everything goes wrong. You have an appointment, a job, something important, and suddenly it comes to nothing. This means there is always an obstacle. Problems are created between two persons. When they see that two people are very happy and love each other very much, these āsurī śaktis come between them (aryoma), and suddenly, unnecessarily, quarreling and conflict arise. These three tapas operate systematically. Only those energies which can reach that astral level can help us, and that is a good mantra. The entire world is suffering from these three tapas, and we also have problems with them. They are waiting all the time. Let's say it is raining and you have an umbrella; you are protected. But as soon as you take the umbrella away, you will get wet. Similarly, these three tapas are always waiting. Therefore, we must be under the shelter, the amārelā of the Gurudev, protected by the mantra that is given. In this meditation, we will concentrate on particular parts of our body, particular organs, and particular feelings. We will focus on particular problems which are not physical but are more painful and dangerous than physical problems. We shall work with this mantra and see how it functions. This meditation is to remove certain problems using mantras—different mantras, different energies, different visualizations. Sit in meditation. Take your mantra mālā. Make yourself comfortable, relaxed, to become more aware of your being here and to find thyself within thy phenomenon in your own room. With closed eyes, the space you see is yours. You exist in this space. For that, we will chant Oṁ three times. During the Oṁ chanting, imagine that your inner space is enlightening. Take a deep inhale. Feel your physical body. Relax and feel the body from the toes to the top of the head. From the top of the head to the toes, just relax. Try to check your body as if you are looking at an X-ray; see your whole anatomy: joints, bones. Try to feel your muscles, nervous system, organs—the heart, liver, kidneys. Intensely feel the glands in different parts of the body, connected by the nervous system. It is like a peanut plant: when you pull it out, peanuts hang from every root. Similarly, all your glands in the body, your chakras, your physical being. Now, you know very well which part of the body or which limbs are hurting, painful, ill, or having difficulties. From the toes to the top of the head, see your entire body like an X-ray. Go with the light and stop at the place of physical trouble. It may be your knees, ankle joints, veins, muscles, hip joints, thigh muscles, pain in the trunk of the body, back pain, neck, head, eye problems, ear problems, nose problems, shoulders, arms, elbows, palms, or fingers. You know where you have troubles. Find the place where the problem is. Now find out which nerves are occupied there, or which muscles, or which gland, and to where these glands and nerves are connected. Try to find the beginning, the source of this pain. If you can’t find it, just remember the spot where you have the pain. Definitely, this is the negative energy, the āsurī śaktis. Now, imagine a bright sun, sunlight. With your prayer, your request, invite this light to enter your body, especially that part where you feel the pain. It will take time, but you will be successful. You will get this light and be able to heal this problem. We connect to this; we pray to that great divine light which represents the sun. Mentally, repeat with me and concentrate on this light. Pray to this light to enter your body to heal this pain. Repeat with me mentally, not loudly. Imagine you have your hands folded. You see the light, and you pray the mantra. Mentally, please. Oṁ Śohaṁ Devēśvara Mahādēvāya Namaḥ. Oṁ Śohaṁ Śrī Devēśvara Mahādēvāya Namaḥ. Yes, it opens a door for you. Enter into the light. You have also opened the door to let the light come. Yes, the light begins to flow. Our light begins to radiate in your body. Keep repeating with me, very relaxed. Don’t be in a hurry, but invite the light. Give the invitation to this light. Accept it. Accept the light so the āsurī śaktis in the form of pain, in the form of disease, disappear. Repeat mentally and observe the flow of the light. Oṁ Śrī Devēśvara Mahādēvāya Namaḥ. Facing towards the sun is too bright. Your eyelids are closed, but the light is shining. It comes to you, and you feel the warmth in that particular part of the body. Now the light is there, the energy is there, asking you, "What do you want? What do you want? What would you invite me for?" Therefore, mentally repeat eleven times: Oṁ Prabhudīpa Nirañjana Śabadukha Bhañjana. This is like a balm, a remedy, an ointment. You are applying it in the form of light on that particular painful part of the body. Feel the release of the pain. Oṁ Prabhu Dīpa Nirañjana Śabadukha Bhañjana. Inhaling: Oṁ Prabhu Dīpa Nirañjana... You are inhaling this light energy to that particular part of the body. And while exhaling, imagine that negative energy, negative prāṇa, and toxins from the body are exhaled while repeating the second part of the mantra, śabadukha bhañjana. Inhalation is the first half of the mantra: take the energy in (Oṁ Prabhudīpa Nirañjana). Exhalation is the second half (śabadukha bhañjana). Oṁ Śohaṁ. Śrī Devēśvara Mahādēvāya Namaḥ. Oṁ Śohaṁ while inhaling—it is Devapurījī’s energy, the sunlight, that removes all negative energy, all darkness. "I bow down to thee, O Lord, for your divine energy." O Prabhupāda, Nirañjanā energy is flowing. Śabadukha bhañjana—exhaling, the negative energy is going off. In the second part of this meditation, imagine again the inner space, Cidākāśa. Imagine you are sitting in that space. Your body is transparent, like an X-ray. Create the resonance, devī śakti, divine power, in the whole body. Observe from about ten meters away, sitting far from your body. Observe how the dark light, like a grey light or smoke, is going out, and light enters into the cosmic prāṇa with that nāda, with that sound. We will all chant Oṁ together twenty-seven times. Not too loud, not too slow; not too long, not too short. Create a beautiful resonance together. During the chanting, see the light penetrate through your body. Even though you see your body ten meters away, the feelings are with you. You feel the body. Chant with me. Continue chanting. Don’t be upset. Be present. See your body in your cidākāśa. Every time you chant, there is lightning inside your body, and negative energy goes out into the cidākāśa. Try to listen to the Oṁ resonance in your Cidākāśa and see that your light, from the Oṁ chanting, has illuminated through and through your whole being. Feel this positive energy. Hold your hands together and pray to the Lord: "I am not the one who is doing, O Lord; it is you who is doing. It is your light, your mercy." Rub your palms, place your hands on your face, open your eyes. Hari Om. You should do this meditation at least twice a week. It will purify negative energies from the body and help you overcome certain problems. I am sure it will be a healing process for your body. Do it at least twice a week, or whenever you feel unhappy, in pain, or in what people call miserable situations. Put your cassette or CD player on, use a headset, and sit. You will see how it improves your qualities. We will do the next part of the meditation tomorrow. Now, I wish you all the best and good night.
