The Value of Life and Practice
Life is a practice, and practice is life. We often fail to see the value of our own life until a crisis opens our eyes. Without understanding our own life's value, we cannot understand the value of others' lives. The greatest obstacle is laziness. I advise practicing the beginning course to improve memory, reduce stress, and gain confidence. Discipline is also a practice, such as learning how and where to sit. Sometimes lessons are needed to realize the value of life, as selfishness and greed make us disregard others. There is a small story from my sister, remembered today. Two friends, a camel and a fox, lived in a wild land and made plans each evening to find food in a farmer's field.
"sādhanā hī jīvan hai, jīvan hī sādhanā hai. Life is a practice, and practice is life."
"But great are they who understand the value of others’ lives too."
