Swamijis morning Satsang from Umag, Croatia, 27th of September

Morning meditation by the sea reveals the ocean’s holiness.

All rivers flow into the ocean, carrying holy dust from saints' feet across all lands and times. The ocean holds many divine powers and consciousnesses. Silently repeat a personal wish or pray for forgiveness. After breakfast, no āsanas; sit in meditation posture. Practice Ujjāyī Prāṇāyāma: inhale through the nose, exhale through the mouth. Feel the fresh, pure air. Be aware of the body relaxed on this Adriatic coast beach. Mentally repeat the mantra. This combined meditation and prāṇāyāma is anti-stress, stabilizing blood pressure. Now breathe normally through the nose. Chant the mantra: “asato mā sad gamaya, tamaso mā jyotir gamaya, mṛtyor mā amṛtaṁ gamaya.” Stretch fingers, head, rub palms, place hands on the face, open eyes. The wind and rain came after meditation; emotions were left in the sea. There is double shelter: Gurudeva and modern technology. Nature’s sound is never disturbing; man-made sound is disturbing.

“All the rivers carry the holy dust from the feet of those saints. All of that enters into the ocean. Therefore, the ocean is one of the holiest waters.”

“The sound of nature is never disturbing, and man-made sound is more disturbing.”

Filming location: Umag, Croatia

Open your eyes, hold your hands, and let us greet the ocean. All the rivers of the world have their destination in the ocean. Every river carries different kinds of water from different parts of the earth. In every corner, every spot of the earth—past, present, and future—holy saints have walked upon that land. On that land there was a saint, a holy person, and the rivers carry the holy dust from the feet of those saints. All of that enters into the ocean. Therefore, the ocean is one of the holiest waters. Even the earth itself will eventually merge back into this water ocean. The ocean is called Sāgara, and Sāgara means the ocean. It possesses many, many divine powers and many divine consciousnesses reside within this ocean. Now, if you have any personal wish, you may silently repeat your wish; or if you have made any mistake, you may pray for forgiveness. A girl is taking photographs. When people pose by the ocean and have their pictures taken, they sometimes show their bottoms. Please tell her not to make such poses. Let us check: twelve! Yes. She should stand to one side. Look, here, here. All is said—foot. I mean, she will capture bottoms. And Viveka is missing. Thirteen! And who told her to take photos? Nineteen, devetnaest. And twenty. Very good. Now, because you have just had breakfast, we will not practice āsanas. We will sit in a meditation posture and bring our microphones there. I don’t think I can translate this. No problem. So now you don’t see me, but I can drink chai. Let us once again do a nice prāṇāyāma. Repeat your mantra with a mālā. Feel the fresh air, full of oxygen, very pure, very clean. Feel comfortable physically and mentally. Inhale through the mouth. Ujjāyī prāṇāyāma: inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth. A nice, warm sun is shining. The sky is very beautiful and colorful—blue sky and white clouds—and the sea is beautiful. Inhale through the nose and slowly exhale through the mouth. I know that I am inhaling, and I know that I am exhaling. When you inhale, feel the fresh air in the nostrils. A lot of oxygen, or prāṇa, is entering your respiratory system. And when you exhale, feel the warm air on the lower lip. Relax. Feel your body—that your body is comfortable and relaxed. Be aware of your being here on the Adriatic coast in Croatia. Beautiful beach, beautiful air, and you are practicing Ujjāyī Prāṇāyāma. Mentally repeat your mantra with or without a mālā. Relax, relax, relax. Mahāprabhujī Paramparā, Mahāṁ Karatā Prabhu Dīp Karatā. Humans are much nearer. Okay. Good. Now, put on [the microphones?]. Okay. Good. Same. No problem. We are all okay. Just meditating. We don’t need any volume. No problem. We continue with meditation. We have volume as prāṇāyāma. Meditation, we have volume at the prāṇāyāma. Inhale through the nose, exhale through the mouth. If you want to change your position or your posture, you can change. But try to sit straight. Relax, and feel the breath. Very consciously inhale through the nose. Observe how the breath is flowing through the respiratory system. And also feel how the breath is coming out. You are exhaling through the mouth. The breath flows from the nose to the Maṇipūra Cakra, and from the Maṇipūra Cakra, the breath again comes out through the mouth. Relax. Opustites. Relax. Opustites. Relax. Inhale through the nose, exhale through the mouth. Be aware of your being here on the beach. And you are listening to the beautiful sound of the water, the waves. Very pleasant weather, very pleasant temperature, 21 degrees, a very peaceful morning. Be aware of your being here physically and mentally, and take the breath very consciously. It is very good for our health. It is the best meditation and prāṇāyāma. This is combined meditation plus prāṇāyāma, an anti-stress meditation. Also, this kind of meditation will help you to stabilize your blood pressure. Now, for a while, normal breath, only through the nose. Inhale and exhale through the nose. Just normal breath. Now, for a while, change the way of breathing. Breathe in and out only through the nose. Normal breathing: inhale and exhale through the nose. This mantra: “asato mā sad gamaya, tamaso mā jyotir gamaya, mṛtyor mā amṛtaṁ gamaya. Sarveṣāṁ svastir bhavatu, sarveṣāṁ śāntir bhavatu.” Vandana, sa, sa, sa. Slowly move your fingers. Close your palms and open the palms. Close your fist and open the palms. Stretch your elbows. Bend your head forward, to the front, to the front, and to the back, to the right, and to the left, to the right, and to the left. Very good. Hold your palms, rub your palms, place hands on the face, open your eyes. Pustite se dole, and move your hands, bend forward. Oṁ Bole, Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ, Bhagavān, Śrī Jai, Śrī Dhām, Samād, Satpuru, Svayī Mādhava, Nandājī, Bhagavān, Kī Jai. Now, it’s really good wind. We had the blessing to be on the beach for one and a half hours. After Devpurījī told us to go in, you now see the strong wind and rain, and the sea is very active now, full of emotion. So it’s good, it’s good that through meditation you left all your emotion there, and at the right time you came back in. That’s it. So rain has begun, strong wind is there, and we are under the shelter of modern technology. So we have double shelter: the shelter of Gurudeva and perfect modern technology. We feel like we are at the Kumbha Melā. Who was at the Kumbha Melā? Very good. So you all saw the hall, no? It was also a good hall. That’s one of the best Nāḍī Yoga music. The sound of nature is never disturbing, and man-made sound is more disturbing. And those who produce [such sounds] are more disturbing. Bhagavān Kī Jai, Viśvar Mahādev Kī, Dharm Samrācak Gurū Svāmī Mahācaraṇ Jī, Bhagavān Kī Jai. Cet cet yāb jīvay, gyānī avasar jāve. Deep Nārāyaṇa Bhagavānakī, Devī Svarmā Devakī, Dharma Samrāṭ Guru Svāmī Mādhvanājī Bhagavānakī, Sanātana Dharmakī. Now, due to the weather conditions, we will end our program. The next program will begin at 2:30: Yog Nidrā, and after that will be āsanas, prāṇāyāmas, some talk. The webcast will be after Yog Nidrā. We wish you a nice day and a nice lunch time. Eat some grapes; that’s enough. And a few fresh figs. Go for a walk, and you will see nice figs on the tree. Don’t eat them all. Leave it for another one. And there is a nice olive tree, lots of olives are hanging. You can taste some. All the best, Hari Om.
