Swamijis evening Satsang form Humenne, SK

The practice of yoga is for the body, mind, and soul. Many destructive forces work against the body and mind without permission, like dust accumulating on a clean surface. Mental pollution is the core problem, creating all divisions and physical pollution in the world. The body is the temple of the soul and must not be neglected, for it is the vehicle for practicing dharma. One must first become healthy and happy oneself to help others, like securing one's own oxygen mask first. Body and mind are interdependent; without one, the other cannot function properly. Consciousness is the energy that animates body and mind, and this energy, Śakti, is the life in every atom. Space, consciousness, and energy are the fundamental principles. All creatures are citizens of the world, and humans must live in harmony with nature. True yoga requires proper guidance from a master; without it, practice is misguided. All aspects of our being escort the soul on its journey.

"First put the mask on your own mouth, then on your children's."

"All the divisions of countries, all divisions of borders, are a creation of human mental pollution."

How many forces work against us in the body? How many destructive forces are there? We do not know. Therefore, the practice of yoga is said to be for the body, mind, and soul—a work with the body, mind, and soul. This is very important. In this moment, we know very little about our body. Yet, we know we exist as an individual person, an embodiment, and we can see whether our body is healthy or unhealthy. I would like to know how to deal with our body. Once, our dear Satgurujī, Holī Gurujī, gave an example: Every day you clean away the dust, but still, that dust only increases. You are always trying to clean it. If you have a glass table, you clean it very nicely in the morning. You close your windows and doors and go to work. In the evening, you return and again see a layer of dust on it. So you clean it again, very nicely. In the morning, again there is dust. Though we do not want that dust, it is there. The dust comes. Similarly, we do not want our body to become unhealthy. We do not want to be ill. We do not want to have mental problems. Yet, without our knowing, illness comes without our permission. Whatever happens with our body does not ask for permission. And also, there is mental pollution, which is very, very polluting to our life. That is called social pollution, psychic pollution, spiritual pollution, family pollution. It means it creates pollution against our spirituality, against our family, against our social life. The mind is polluted. When you use polluted water, you will become ill again. So the polluted mind is the problem in the world. A polluted mind is like what you might call a cracked mind, or as someone says, "The screws are loose." You talk nonsense. A polluted-minded person begins to speak badly of others to prove how good they are, how much knowledge they possess, wanting to put themselves in the best place. But any information you give, you have to filter out all the pollutions. That means to make your life comfortable, to make more friends, and to develop your spirituality. So mental pollution is the problem in the whole world. All the pollution created here—physical pollution, perhaps atomic energy or many chemicals, and many other things—all this is created by human mental pollution. All the divisions of countries, všetky rozdelenia hranice (all divisions of borders), are a creation of human mental pollution. Borders are in our minds. Therefore, it is said: Go beyond the borders. Go beyond the limitation or the border of this solar system to become one with Brahman. So mental pollution is very dangerous. Physical pollution is also very dangerous. No body, no mind. Nobody knows all here. Nobody, you are not here. So we should not neglect the body. Some people say, "Oh, the body is not reality. I don’t take care of my body." That is ignorance. You are very healthy, and that is why you do not know the value of your body. But one day, when you become very ill and the doctor says, "My God, it’s a dangerous illness. Now maybe you have only two months to live," then you will know what your body means. You will try to protect your body with everything. Therefore, the body is first. The body is the temple of your soul. The body is the temple of your mind and your consciousness. So your body is the body of the dharma. You can practice dharma through this body. And that dharma is first to become healthy and happy, and then to make others happy. Today, I was coming by aeroplane. Before take-off, the hostess was giving safety instructions. She said that in case of a loss of oxygen and pressure, the oxygen masks will fall down. Then she said: First put the mask on your own mouth, then on your children's. Because sometimes a mother thinks, "Oh, my child," and tries first to help the child. Meanwhile, she becomes unconscious and cannot help the child either. Therefore, first put the mask quickly on yourself, and then on your child or a needy person. You see how many things you can learn everywhere. This means: First become healthy yourself. Make yourself healthy, happy, and free, and then you can make others happy. Otherwise, you cannot. So, do not neglect your body, and do not say that you do not need it. We need the body. The body is there, then the mind is there. Without the function of the mind, the body is lost. Because then, what we call mental disabilities arise, and when one is mentally disabled, the body cannot function properly. Therefore, the mind is more important. But you see, without the body, there is no mind; and without the mind, the body is not properly functional. Therefore, body and mind together. Now, the mind has good functions and bad functions. The intellect is born out of the mind. Without intellect, the mind is nothing. It means you are mentally disabled because you have no knowledge. If you have knowledge that reflects and supports our mind, then we can utilize that knowledge to make plans and work them out. It is knowledge. Now, the body, mind, and intellect need a space to function. They need a space to identify themselves. Body, mind, and intellect—and therefore, there is what is called consciousness. So consciousness is, let us say, that fuel in your car that lets your car run. No petrol, the car will not function. So here, consciousness also means energy. If the energy is not there, the body, mind, consciousness, knowledge, and intellect are just lying as separate parts. All these separate parts are lying separately somewhere. So now you have to assemble them. But where? In the space of the consciousness. That is the life within us. But that consciousness is only a light, only energy. So where is the powerhouse? From where is the energy produced? The energy is called Śakti. You remember all that I used to say in my lectures. The first is space, then consciousness, then the energy, then the sound, and then the light—and then the creation begins. So, the entire universe, the entire space—we think it is empty, but it is not empty. There is a field compact with consciousness. That consciousness you may call Brahman, you may call the Supreme, you may call the Cosmic One, or you may call the Holy Father, or whatever you may call. It has no names. Only we give the name. We introduce God. Humans introduce God. Otherwise, no humans, nobody knows what God is. So yesterday I told God, "I know that you are the highest, greatest one. But don’t forget, we made you." So God was thinking for one minute. Last night there was a dialogue, and then with the Śakti. I had long, long discussions with the Śakti, because last night began the night of the Divine Śakti Mother. It is called the Nine Nights of the Divine Mother. We will talk about this perhaps next time. So that is Śakti. Without energy, nothing. A mighty elephant, if there is no energy, cannot move. So that energy is known as the life in the entire universe and in every atom. Nothing is empty. That exists everywhere. It is that energy which brings the elements together. No energy, no wind, no movement; the entire endless universe is paralyzed, frozen. Everything will stop. Can you imagine? You are flying in an aeroplane, 13,000 meters high up—13 kilometers, or 15 kilometers—and suddenly, the aeroplane is stuck there. Are you home? No movement. You are there. You want to go out, but you also cannot. You are also frozen. So movement is in the śakti. Without that movement, everything is paralyzed. But that movement needs space—what we call tolerance, the space of tolerance. And that space of tolerance is within our body also, what we call the ākāśa element, space. Without that, you cannot breathe. You cannot swallow food, and without that energy, the breath will not move in and out, and it will not be digested. So the space, consciousness, and between them, holding, balancing, harmonizing, is the energy. So these three are very important: space, consciousness, and energy. Or it is called jīva, śiva, and śakti. So jīva is the individual life, the individual soul. Every entity is a light of God. It does not matter in which form. In yogic anatomy and in yogic science, it is said there are 8.4 million different creatures on and around this planet, and that is the anatomy of the planet. These are the structures of our planet. We know our planet is a living planet. Do not think that only humans have rights on this. That is a great mistake. You are as important as a mosquito on this planet. God created all. Who are we to destroy God’s creation? Therefore, the Vedas say, "Live in harmony with nature." Do not go against nature, Mahāprabhujī said. Otherwise, nature will take its revenge, and now we all are suffering. We know the consequences of our deeds. That means our mind was acting without complete knowledge. Our intellect was polluted by our greed, anger, hate, ignorance, and so on. And that is why humans are still not capable of giving up those things. As long as this does not happen—meaning, as long as the human does not stop acting against nature—the destruction on this planet will continue. And therefore, rare are those yogīs. Where are those great bhaktas or the saints who can come out of this torturing situation on this globe? So this life on the planet—8.4 million different creatures—they are citizens of this world. And this world, our Mother Earth, is a citizen of the universe. All these creatures, including humans, we are like blood cells in the body of this Mother Earth. There are healthy cells, and there are unhealthy cells. There are aggressive cells, and there are harmonizing cells. If we compare ourselves to the entire universe, we are not visible beings at all. Therefore: body, mind, consciousness, intellect, and soul. Now, all these are given so that the soul may make its journey to the highest one. All this is escorting us to our destination. So when you practice yoga, and especially Yoga in Daily Life—which is the yoga in daily life for body, mind, and soul, which improves the harmony of the body, mind, and soul—you know, nowadays yoga has become very famous. But unfortunately, people only think the exercises and breathing are yoga. They think only body health is everything. Only a yogī can teach and explain yoga. Only an engineer can understand and build a building or machines. Only a doctor understands medicine. Only a surgeon knows the operation. But one who never studied medicine, never worked with any doctors, and begins to operate on someone—what will that be like? So without serving, meaning without working with the Master, with the Gurudev, without learning that science properly from the Gurudev, the people who are teaching yoga are damaging themselves and others. Then it is said that the blind lead the blind. So this is the difference between yoga and yoga in dead life. So that you have this beautiful wisdom or science from the first hands. Many of you have been with me for a few decades. Many are practicing yoga for how many years in a dead life. So, compared to you, other people who just read some books became themselves like their master. It is a pity. That means misguiding the people. So we will practice here for our body, our mind, our consciousness, our intellect, and our soul. So I welcome you here. Feel happy and free. Enjoy the environment and air of the city, and we will have two nice days here. Today’s Friday is finished, so we still have Saturday and Sunday. You must be very tired. You had a long journey. You came from many, many far distances. I hope you found accommodation. If not, then please find... You will get very nice accommodation. Sleep, and in the morning come here for practices. So, welcome you once more, and we will work more on our subjects. So, Yoga in Daily Life for body, mind, and soul, to create harmony, to develop spirituality, to become one with the Universal One. Good? You like it? Who didn’t like it? Thank you. All the best. Vse najlepše.
