Swamijis diwali message in Hindi

The true pilgrimage is to the feet of the saints. A land where great souls perform austerities is sacred. When those souls merge with the divine, that place becomes a holy crossing. The dust from a saint's feet holds the power of all sacred rivers; it allows one to cross the ocean of worldly existence. Physical pilgrimages have benefit, but the ultimate goal is inner purification. An anecdote illustrates this: a devotee journeys to see the Ganga, yet the true vision comes not from the river but from disciplined devotion and service. Cleansing sins is not achieved by bathing in sacred rivers but by surrendering at the saints' feet. Their glory surpasses all deities. True refuge is found in the Guru's lineage.

"Tīrtha means that when the child goes to those feet and applies the dust of the feet of the saints, then one crosses the ocean of worldly existence."

"We must go to the feet of the saints and cleanse our sins. The glory of the saints alone is boundless, beyond that of all the deities."

To Śrī Dīpa Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān, Alakapuruṣa Mahādeva, Devādideva Deveśvara Mahādeva, the protector of Hindu Dharma, Guru Svāmījī Mādhvānanjī Gurudev, and the eternal truth of Sanātana Dharma. Today, on the supremely sacred, pure, divine, and auspicious festival of Dīpāvalī, you are all very fortunate to be seated in an āśrama that is a land of tapas on this occasion. The place where peaceful great souls perform tapasyā is called tappū bhūmi. When these peaceful souls, through tapasyā, merge into Brahman—that is, become absorbed in Brahman—that place is called tīrtha. A great soul once said in a bhajan that at the feet of the Guru, there are 68 tīrthas from the ancient Vedas. At the feet of the saints and the Satguru, there are 68 tīrthas. Tīrtha means that when the child goes to those feet and applies the dust of the feet of the saints, then one crosses the ocean of worldly existence. The land that is sacred, the land of tapas, where saints have performed their austerities, that place is truly fortunate. There is also this benefit: if one goes to such a pilgrimage, the welfare of the soul and the living being is attained. Another pilgrimage is in the empty wilderness, remaining in the wilderness, in darkness... From Kāṭhiyāvāḍ, I thought to myself that when you go to the Gaṅgā and bathe there, after bathing in the Gaṅgā, he used to think about it. He set out for the village of Taṭyāṭī and left. When he reached another village, he met a devotee. He asked the devotee, "What is your name?" The devotee replied, "Paṭel Bhāī." He asked, "Where are you going?" What should I do is that Gaṅgājī truly granted the vision, that brother, Gaṅgā Mātā gave the vision. So, just do this: follow one discipline, and as you continue to follow this discipline, Gaṅgā Mātā will grant you darśan. If anyone comes on the path of the village, you should stay there overnight. One should not try to stop what is meant to flow; one should not try to hold back what is meant to move. Just as the Gaṅgā flows and the boat moves along it, you are not the doer of all this, my brother, because... Here you were in Jāmnagar Kāṭhiyāvāḍ, and from here to Haridwār, how far is it? If you go on foot, that means you see the Gaṅgā and then return home. So you take the pūjī, standing by the cowherd, and all the villages become soaked with respect, and for the elders, the dhol bājā is played. So he said, yes, that was a very strange mind; it had not happened for eighty years. Allāh Bāpā came from a Gaṅgā village, went home, drank water, ate bread, then set off on foot, came to another village, and when asked, he said Gaṅgā village... A few kilometers, just a few kilometers, no more than one or one and a half kos, and there was a mahārāj’s hut there, a sādhu’s. So, Paṭel Bhāī thought to himself that we should be like Bāpū, but this was from a saint, and even the saint had no desire for anything, not even for a hut. Paṭel Bāpū served Bāpū with devotion, never pressing him harshly, but respectfully touching his feet. If one Paṭel had not fallen at his feet, then today when asked, Bāpū would have replied, and then said that Bāpū Gaṅgā had come from very far away. If the boat is new, then the pump in my tent starts working; from there, Bāpū, the river flows and we know the result. Bāpū, you went to the Gaṅgā, but the result is not known. Brother Rām went to bathe, but the result on the Gaṅgā is unknown. We five devotees hid there. Rām Rām... We saw a wooden boat coming, and the Gaṅgā reached the shore and the boat was struck, it became distressed, sorrowful. Well, so be it, rest there, a father will rise not from a hut or beside it, but from a shack. Go to that shack and rest, we need sleep... On the day of Puṇyam, at night, Ratnā Det Bāgē brought three black Kālī cows in front of Bāpū’s āśrama. The big black Kālī cows—Paṭel did not see them. Why, Bāpū? Ratnā had four black and three black cows. What was it? Just now, beside the āśrama, three cows were being brought inside the āśrama premises. Those three women, Kālī Paṭel, they will not be affected; if you are affected, it happens on its own. It is not that some spirit comes and possesses the body. Time and death are the real yogīs. The handkerchief flutters and flutters continuously. By that time, those three or four women, you know, if they hadn’t come to Bāpū’s āśrama, there wouldn’t have been any water in the pots. One cleaned the water vessels and filled them with water, another swept the courtyard, and the third cleaned the utensils used for eating and drinking. While doing all this, the three of them... We are very simple people, what can we do? Once a man came to Mā Paṭel, folded his hands, and said, "Sister, who are you? Bāpū ate khichḍī here, didn’t he? I gave him more than enough money. Please forgive me, I have fallen ill in this āśrama. Who are you?" Clean the water of the Gaṅgā, clean the utensils today; clean the rooms of Yamunā and Bāpū today. Sarasvatī speaks, O revered Gurudev, so we are saved by the three—Gaṅgā, Yamunā, and Sarasvatī. The people of the world are bound by respect for the world; every day they come to the door of the world and bathe within us, and in my body... If we too want to go somewhere to cleanse our sins, where should we go? Where can we rid ourselves of our sins? Not the Gaṅgā, Yamunā, or Sarasvatī. We must go to the feet of the saints and cleanse our sins. The glory of the saints alone is boundless, beyond that of all the deities. Go to the feet of the saints and engage in bhajan. Subscribe, subscribe... There is a bhajan that goes, how one clings closely to the feet of the Guru, the ancient Vedas sing, "Guru charaṇam aḍ saṭ," the ancient Vedas sing, "Guru charaṇam." So you are fortunate that today, on this sacred and auspicious occasion of Adhipāvḍī, you have come to the world-illuminating lineage of your Guru. I will not rest until today; I welcome you all. Today, I have come to the Viśvadīp Guru family. To subscribe, one must pray to Bhagavān, saints, and deities. Otherwise, chanting once in the presence of Gurudev in my humble abode... My humble hut, my humble hut, again and again, come, Gurudev, to my humble hut. What is the result up to Gandhi? This is not the way. You are the one who spreads the melody, O King. My spreading Nārāyaṇa, victory to Bhagavān! For this, you are the grace here. You must go to receive the grace that has come, even if you are robbed along the way. Do it, do it,... do it...
