Peace Prayer in Erd, Szazhalombatta

A multifaith gathering offers prayers for world peace through shared invocation and wisdom.

Representatives from various traditions light a flame and offer prayers. A Hindu chant seeks guidance from unreality to reality, darkness to light, and mortality to immortality. A Christian prayer asks for illumination of intellect and will toward unity and peace. A Buddhist recitation advocates doing what is right without desire for reward, cultivating boundless goodwill for all beings like a mother for her child. A Jewish blessing seeks light, grace, and peace. A message from a Sant Mat teacher reflects that we leave this world empty-handed; what matters is not what we accumulate but how many we help, urging inner mastery over conquest. The gathering concludes with a collective aspiration for light and love to radiate peace.

"Lead us from unreality to reality, from darkness to light, from mortality to immortality."

"What matters is not how much we can gain, but how many people we can help."

Good evening. I warmly welcome the dear attendees on behalf of the Érd Yoga Association and the Yoga in Daily Life Society of Hungary. I warmly welcome our guests to today’s world peace prayer and kindly ask you to come forward to the stage. I greet you all on this pleasant evening. I humbly invite Paramahaṃsvāmī Maheśvarānandā, the leader of the organization Yoga in Daily Life, to come and light the flame of peace. First, I would like to invite Paramahaṃsvāmī Maheśvarānandajī from the Yoga in Daily Life Association to come and light the candle. Feel the intense transcendence. Jesuit hearts, let it come forth and kindle the flame of peace. I would like to invite Master Niho Khen, Master Zen, to come here and kindle the fire of peace. I would like to invite Mahārāja Bhakti Kamala Tīrtha to come here and kindle the fire of peace. Now I would like to invite Mr. Kurodi Tiwadar, the representative of the Buddhist mission, to illuminate his peace. Now I would like to ask Mr. Veist Ferenc Rapi, the head of the Israeli community, to ignite his peace. Asato mā sad gamaya. Merciful Lord, lead us from the unreality to the reality. O gracious Lord, please lead us from falsehood to truth. Tamaso mā jyotir gamaya. Lead us from the darkness to the light. It leads us from darkness into light. Mṛtyor mā amṛtaṃ gamaya. Lead us from mortality to immortality. It leads us from mortality to immortality. Sarve sam svastir bhavantu. Hello everyone, everyone,... everyone. Other people originate, millions of births originate from their evil, young man, and millions of people originate. Mā śipū lābā, bless us with companionship and joy. At this time, at this time, millions of people are coming, millions of births are coming, millions of people are coming. Sarve saṃmangalaṃ bhavatu. Lokāḥ samastā sukhino. Who should be happy? The whole world is happy. Noble Lord Śiva, Heavenly Father, guide us, bless us, protect us, and liberate us. O Māṛṣipul Lord Śiva, we offer our prayers to Thee. Nāhaṃ kartā. — We are not the doer. Prabhudīp kartā. Mahāprabhujī is the Creator of the Universe, the Supreme Lord. He is the only Supreme Lord who blesses us, who descends into our hearts so that love and compassion may flow, enabling us to love everyone. Now I would like to invite the aching father, a Jesuit monk, to lead the prayer for peace. Jesus of Nazareth, You came to reveal God’s boundless infinite love. You do not desire the death of the sinner, but that he may repent, and through his repentance, live. That is why you became one among us, embracing all our sorrows. Your death and resurrection in our time reveal the boundlessness of Your love and power. Lord Jesus, we know that sins cause separation, and You bring us together. The soul that knows and accepts the law of love, living according to it, is the leaven and guarantee of unity. If the heart is pure, the soul unites. We ask for the illumination of our intellect, so that we may see what is right, what unites and leads to peace, and not what divides. Please give light to our understanding and consciousness, thus making our will inclined towards goodness. Make our will inclined towards the good. Turn our will towards good. Integrate the impossible situation where we see the good but do the bad. To embody this immense situation, that we know what is good, yet we still do what is immense... The mercy of that so that there may be peace here among the Carpathians and throughout the whole world. Amen, let it be. I will sing the Sūtra of Great Wisdom. No, no, Sūtra of Great Wisdom, a Grand Sagesse. A Śiv Sūtra. A Śiv Sūtra. The Sūtra of Great Wisdom, the Great Wisdom Sūtra, in order to access wisdom. The highest understanding, compassion, and the path to wisdom. Sikhi Yakubu Nyoze, Shalishi Desho, Fuzofu, Shufumetsu, Fuku, Fuzofu, Zofuken, Zekoku, Shomoshiki, Moshu, Zogyo, Shikyoko, Mizoku, Muken, Kumudukui, Mujodoku, Gobodai, Sattaye, Hanya, Mitako, Shinmuke, Mukee, Om. Puroko Puranri Saitendo Muzo Ugyone Anzan Zesho Soe Anya Amitaku Nukuwa Nukutara Tammyaku Zambodai Koshi Anya Alamita E Dai Shin Shuze Dai Myo Shuze Moyo Shuze Moto Do Shu No Sho Izai Koshin Freedom Freedom... So many other attachments, the illusions, I make the vow to go beyond them all.... And so perfect is the enlightened life, I make the vow to live it. Oṃ, perfect is your enlightened life, take the vow, therefore I say this, take it tonight. I would like to request Bhakti Kamala Tīrthamahārāj to offer his prayer on behalf of Hungary and the Vaiṣṇava Hindu mission.... I would also like to share a Sanskrit prayer. Among all sweet things, the Holy Name of Lord Hari is the sweetest. Among all things that are sweet, the name of the Lord Hari is the sweetest. From Brahmā down to the smallest blade of grass, the entire material creation is the product of the Supreme illusory energy. From Brahmā to the smallest blade of grass, everything is the creation of the illusory, the illusory creative power of God. The only reality is harinām. Dabu Pisa, Śikṣā Yicchit Sadās Martum, Harer Nāma Yeva Kevalam. Ha valaki čak Hari Senth nevének emlékezésére tanít, akkor ő a mi tanítómesterünk, apánk, anyánk és barátunk. If there is one who teaches only to remember the holy name of God, know that this person is our teacher, our lord, mother, and friend. Do not lose faith in the breath, for when it rises, it will surely fall; abandon only what is to be abandoned, like the sound of Hari’s nāda alone. We do not know when we will take our last breath, which is why from childhood we chant the Lord’s name. Ah, suffering, ah, suffering, suffering, suffering beyond suffering, born from the body, endlessly amazed, the jewel Hari’s name alone. My great sorrow, my great sadness. More than anything else, it pains me that most people mistakenly believe the harināma jewel to be a shard of glass, and thus they forget it. What a great trouble, what a great disaster, that most people consider the name of God unworthy, like a piece of glass. Dhyātam, dhyātam karṇo, nīyatam, nīyatam vācahā, gīyatam, gīyatam nityam, harir nāma eva kevalam. Hold on again and again, chant again and again, sing, always sing the name of Hariṣa. Hear again and again, say again and again, and sing again and again the holy name of Hari. Harjoṃ śānti, śānti, śānti. I would like to ask Mr. Korodi Tivadar, Deputy Attorney, to offer a prayer on behalf of the Buddhist mission. I will chant daily from the Kāraṇīyam Etta Sutta, from the Song of the Serpent. I will pray for Kāraṇīyam Etta Sūtra, for the sake of all living beings. One should do what is to be done, desiring no reward, being devoted to the living beings, speaking truthfully and purely, and being free from attachment to these things. Thus shall live the one who strives for happiness, thus shall live the one who strives for happiness, thus shall live the one who strives for happiness, thus shall live the one who strives for happiness, thus shall live the one who strives for happiness, thus shall live the one who strives for happiness. He who seeks happiness, let him live so; he who seeks happiness, let him live so; he who seeks happiness, let him live so; he who seeks happiness, Never speak ill of others, never be angry, and let there be no harsh words among you. A mother cares for her child, a man protects his only son, and similarly, in all beings, the mind arises boundlessly. Just as a mother, at the cost of her own life, protects her only son, so too does she awaken the spirit of enthusiasm in every being. The body is not new, the mind is not new, the breath is already free from illusion. This very moment is the beginning, the creation; this is the desire for the divine play. Awake, walking, lying down, and sitting, one can never grow weary in establishing this spiritual state; thus, one may dwell among the peaceful on earth. Salvā mādhavā. Peace to all. Standing, walking, lying down, and sitting—in all circumstances—engage in this practice. This way one can be in the conditions and in the home of peace. I would now like to invite Mr. Ferenc Vejs, Chief Cantor, to offer a prayer on behalf of the Jewish community. Veenu Veenu Kula Kula Uke Ve Jai Pane Pane Vim Sholayim Tajvo Vro Hejn Vrhesed Vraha Mim Olenu Al Kol Yisro Ame Rost blessing, prosperity, and grace, compassion, kindness, and mercy upon us, all Israel, Your people, all peoples. Bless us, our Father, all of us, equally, with the light of Your face, for in the light of Your face our eternal God has given us the Torah of life and the love of holiness, truth and blessing, mercy and life and peace. Judithot, a representative of Sant Mat, leads her prayer on behalf of the Sant Mat community. I bring you this message that our master Sant Rājinder Singh, the millennium’s beacon of peace, spoke at the United Nations in New York. I have brought the message from Sant Rājinder Singh, our spiritual leader, who spoke in New York, at the United Nations. Hello, ladies and gentlemen! Hello, ladies and gentlemen!... Hello, ladies and gentlemen! Hello, ladies and gentlemen! Thank you for your attention. Even with one breath. The great Indian judge Mahmud, on his deathbed, recognized this and, as a result, commanded that on his funeral procession, people should look well at the empty hand stretched out to the sky, pointing upwards. And the great Indian emperor Mahmud also realized this, and he ordered that when his body is taken to the cemetery, all people could see his hand, the hand of his dead body, as it is empty and pointed towards the sky, towards heaven. In response to the minister’s question, the king replies thus. I would like to bring to everyone’s attention that no matter how much we accumulate through conquests or other means during our lives, in the end, we leave this world empty-handed. You do not need to conquer the masses; rather, let us begin the decoding of our own inner selves, so that we may finally recognize and master our true nature. We can encounter eternal heavenly bliss and happiness. Instead of gaining power over other nations, we should understand our inner wealth and gain power over our inner qualities. Many who have had near-death experiences and were revived by modern medicine have reported a life review, and when they examined the mirror image of their own lives, they had to realize that it was mostly the good deeds that mattered. It is not the food kindled at the expense of others that matters, but how much of oneself it can nourish. It doesn’t matter how much food we can gather, but how many people we can offer food to—that is what truly matters. It is not about how much money we have earned, but how much we are able to give to those in need. It doesn’t matter how much money we can gain, but it does matter how many people we can give money to. It is not the amount of territory taken by others that matters, but how many inflexible attitudes we are able to offer. It doesn’t matter how much land or space we can receive from others, but what truly matters is how many homeless we can give a home. It is not the power over others that we should seek, but rather to support those who are truly searching for the real purpose of their life. It doesn’t matter how much power we can gain, but what truly matters is how many people we can help to realize and understand their true purpose in life. It is not important that other people worship us as gods, but that we ourselves know how to love and respect. It doesn’t matter how much people think we are elevated and saintly, but it does matter how many people we can respect and help. Let us lay down our guns, so that we may raise our arms towards the sky. Let us lay down our weapons so that we may raise our hands towards God, the Creator. Our faith and meditation transform the world into a garden of joy, an eternal reality. Prayers and meditations can transform the world into a joyful home of meditation. Let us radiate light and love beautifully, which has opened peace throughout the entire world. Let love, light, and peace radiate. I would also like to read out and mention that Lama Čöpel from the Karma Kagyüpa community in Hungary could not attend today’s world peace prayer because he is in retreat meditating, but in his meditation he is thinking of our gathering today and praying for world peace. I would like to say that Lama Chöpel from the Karma Kaḍupa tradition in Hungary meditates alone, from a place of stillness, but he offered his best blessings for today’s program and evening, and also offered blessings in his meditation for the great assembly.
