Satya Yuga and Kali Yuga is within you, Sunshine Coast

Devotion in Kali Yuga transforms inner darkness into light.

External Kali Yuga continues for millennia, yet the true Kali Yuga exists within—negative qualities like hate and greed. Sat Yuga is also within—knowledge of Brahman, the sole truth, while the world is temporary. Never think you are the doer; a higher power provides for all, just as the dog mistakenly believed it pulled the buggy. In this age, devotion is primary; repeating the divine name is the sole refuge. Singing bhajans expresses the soul’s call in the heart’s language, needing no translation. A great saint asked only for devotion—nothing else makes one unshakable. God walks behind the devotee; nothing can bind the divine except the rope of love. This love seeks not wealth or liberation, only devotion itself. The Guru removes all suffering, bestows wisdom, meditation, and self-realization. He gives the eight siddhis and nine nidhis, opening inner happiness none can steal. Devotion is an inexhaustible source; intellectual knowledge runs dry. True sincere love pleases God; tricky temporary devotion does not. Practice meditation consistently, reject laziness. Live in the world, maintain family, continue sadhana without pressuring others. After sleep and work, time remains for yoga. Real freedom is liberation from rebirth.

“Kali Yuga Kevala Nāma Ādhāra, Sumira Sumira Narahoi Bhavapāra.”

“I can break everything, but not this rope… this is the rope of love.”

Part 1: The Call of the Heart: Devotion in Kali Yuga If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the comments below. Atītam Atṛiguṇarājitam Dhṛtam Anāmantī Śānti. Salutations to our holiness, salutations to the cosmic light, Lord of our hearts, omniscient and omnipresent, His Divine Presence. Good evening, dear sisters and brothers. It is a blessing to be here together. Ashram, Yogānanda Life, Sunshine Coast—and thank you, dear Yamunā and Tyāgapurī, and all other devotees, for making this program possible so that we could be together. There was a question earlier about Kali Yuga: when will the Kali Yuga end? A good question. There are two kinds of Kali Yugas. One is according to the great Yugas, and still some thousands of years remain for this Kali Yuga. Time moves on. Soon we will have a few thousand years behind us, and we will awake into the beautiful, divine Satya Yuga. The second kind of Kali Yuga exists within ourselves. When we harbor negative qualities, when we display the symptoms described in the Śāstras—what Kali Yuga is, what it will do, and what it is doing—all our negative qualities—hate, jealousy, greed, anger, violence, negative thinking—these are part of the Kali Yuga within us. Sat Yuga is also within us: our knowledge, that knowledge of God: Brahma Satya Jagat Mithyā. If you are searching for the truth, for what truth is, then the ultimate truth is only one. That is called Brahman, the supreme, the highest, the universal one—everlasting, Nitya, immortal, Amar, Niranjan, without any support, Sat Chit Ānanda, truth, consciousness, and bliss. Brahma satyam—that is the truth you are searching for. Jagat mithyā—all that happens in this world, what we call good or bad, is temporary. It comes, it goes, but the grace of God continues. Never think that you are the one who is doing. Never think that without you there would be nothing more. Never think you are the best. There is a little story. A farmer family moved from one village to another. They had a horse buggy, a horse coach. A beautiful horse, a strong horse, a good horse. Every horse is beautiful; we love horses. Every creature is beautiful. Now the farmer loaded all the luggage onto the buggy. It was big. They put in all the furniture, mattresses, cooking pots, and so forth. They had one cat, and they also placed the cat up inside. Two or three chickens were also in the buggy, along with three children, grandfather and grandmother, and the parents. They had food and water, so it was quite heavy, well-loaded. The horse pulled the buggy, and they had a nice dog. The horse pulled the buggy and ran, and everyone sat inside, but the dog did not want to sit; he ran behind. Then he ran under the buggy, keeping pace with the horse’s steps. After three or four kilometers, the dog began to think, “This is not justice, there is no love, there is no ahiṃsā, non-violence, there is no mercy. Everyone is sitting on my back, including the buggy; I cannot carry so much.” But anyway, they were his family. So the dog continued running. After another half a kilometer, again the dog thought, “No, I cannot pull all this,” and he stopped. The dog stopped, but the buggy continued moving. What? It is going without me? So he asked the farmer. The farmer said, “My dear dog, what you thought was wrong. You are not the one pulling the buggy. That is someone else—that is the horse.” Similarly, when we think that we take the whole world’s burden upon ourselves and that we are working hard, or we take the burden of the entire family and we keep working and working, do not think like that. There is someone else who takes care of everyone. Kiri Ko Kaan, Hati Ko Mana. It is He who provides food to all creatures. Who are you to provide food to anyone? Kiri Ko Kaan—even a tiny ant receives a little grain of rice or sugar or something. And Hathi Ko Manā—the elephant receives fifty kilos, eighty kilos. We have no ability to provide for all creatures, visible and invisible to our eyes. There is only one, only one—that is the creator, that is God, or we may call it Mother Nature, Cosmic Mother, Mother Earth, whatever we call it. Everyone has their destiny, and whether we are struggling, surviving, living, happy, or unhappy, everything rests somewhere else. Therefore, it is said, “Dīna Bandhu, Dīna Anātha, O friend of the wretched, O Lord of all, merciful.” Meri Dori Tere Haat—My Lord, the thread of my life, the rope of my life, is in Your hand. Please, sometimes can You move this rope a little, like this, so that I may come closer to Thee, O my Lord. So as long as we have ignorance, we are in Kali Yuga. And when we have that love and truth, love purifies and melts everything into beauty. Ignorance manifests as rocks of obstacles, clouds of darkness, and a stormy sea. Then our boat in the middle of the sea is unbalanced; you never know. So one cried, “Mother, O Mother, how far is the shore? I have to go a far distance to reach that city. Moi Door Nagariyan Jana. I have to go to the very far city of heaven or Brahmaloka.” A beautiful bhajan, song. Mā Jī Yo Dina Dina. How far is the shore? I have to go to the far distance. High waves and stormy sea, black clouds and lightning. I cannot see my way, O Mother. How far is the shore? Passion and anger—they have attacked me; they surrounded me. This is within you, and Kali Yuga is within you. You are living peacefully, beautifully, nicely, enjoying, happy, and suddenly you receive bad news. You are again sad, very sad, very sad. So this is the successive unfoldment of consciousness, where different layers are present. And sometimes these layers are so big and so thick, like what we call a tectonic plate under the earth. Perhaps it stretches from Australia, from Sunshine Coast, all the way to America or somewhere else. And when an earthquake takes place here, this plate moves; it moves everywhere. So everything—our relations, our attachments, our all—this plate of our heart is connected to the whole. Viśva prāṇī merī ātmā hai. All are myself, myself. But this Kali Yuga attacks our brain and intellect, as we call it, an earthquake. Earthquake, earthquake—at that time everything is shaken. Yet again, that Mother, that love: “Kali Yuga Kevala Nāma Ādhāra, Sumira Sumira Narahoi Bhavapāra.” The great Tulsīdāsa said in the Rāmāyaṇa, “Kali Yuga Kevala Nāma Ādhāra.” In Kali Yuga, we have only one saviour, one hope. Nāma, the name, the name of Śrī Śrī Nārāyaṇa, the remover of worldly existence. Repeat the name of God. Sing the bhajans. Bhakti. So Kali Yuga is bhakti-pradhāna. The major practice in Kali Yuga is devotion, because it is the easiest way. When they were singing so beautifully, how beautiful we all felt. The singing, the instruments, the resonance, the vocal expression—it needs no translation. Someone may speak Japanese, some German, some only French, some English, some only Hindi, but all were enjoying while singing. That is called the sound of the soul, the call of the soul in the language of the heart. And the language of the heart needs no words. Therefore, one Mahātma, a great Mahātma, said in his bhajan: O my Gurudev, give me, give me blessings, give me only one blessing. If you have bhakti, faith in God, there is no tsunami that can move you. And when a bhakta comes, God stands up. Where the bhakta goes, God walks behind, walking with you. And what is that bhakti? Love. There is a little story about Lord Kṛṣṇa. He had a very beautiful life, a playful life, a joyful life, a divine place, and divine children. There was a question: Swamiji, how to maintain peace? Because sometimes children are not so nice, they are angry, and then I lose my temper, I lose my peace. No, no. That is a līlā, that is a glory, that is the beauty of the children. You know, after a few years, this will change, and you will be sorry. “Oh, my children were so nice, jumping up and down.” When the baby is ten days old, one day old, you know after one month that stage is no longer here. In one year, it is different. And then, holding your finger and taking one step, two steps, falling down again—after a few months, that is gone. And then, finally, time will come again when you have to walk with a walker. So it is coming, going, coming. Don’t lose your peace in the heart. It doesn’t matter; it comes. Chand tale, sūraja tale, mahā puruṣon ke bachan kabhī nahīṁ tale. The moon and sun may change their course, but the words of the mahāpuruṣa, the great saints, the masters, will never go empty and will never change. Therefore, even the mighty Himalaya may begin to shake, but my devotion, my faith will not shake. Bhagatīro Dhan Dātā Dīd. And in this bhajan also, it is said, “I am not asking for wealth, I am not asking for a partner, I am not asking for money, I am not asking for mokṣa, liberation.” I don’t ask for anything, only one thing, Lord: my devotion, my love for You. It means in every life—and that is very selfish of us, you know. Always we will be with Him. Good? We are always protected. So, Kṛṣṇa always used to take the butter away, sometimes taking it from another’s house. And they went to complain to Kṛṣṇa’s mother, “Your son came and took away this pot of butter.” And she said, “What? Kṛṣṇa is sitting right here, eating food at home.” They couldn’t complain. They said, “He’s here.” Okay, they went back. Next time again, they saw Kṛṣṇa there. They ran home quickly, and what did they see? Kṛṣṇa was just playing at home; he was not there. That is called Sarvatra, everywhere, omniscient, omnipresent. One day, all the gopīs—the word gopī means disciple; gop means disciple. Gopīs are the female disciples, and gopas are the male disciples. They saw Kṛṣṇa taking a butter pot, and they shut the door and caught him. Now they didn’t go anywhere else; they wanted to tie him with many, many ropes, but nothing could tie him. No, nothing could bind him. They closed the door, and the door opened. They closed and locked the door, but the lock broke. And he was still standing there. One gopī came, and she brought a very old, nearly rotten rope. And she said, “I brought the strongest rope. Kṛṣṇa cannot break this. Tie him with this rope to the pillar.” And this is the rope of love, bhakti. Kṛṣṇa stretched out his hands, and they tied them. Now all went to his mother. “Come and see your son.” There were other boys saying, “Kṛṣṇa, you always play the mighty one, the strong one. What are you doing? Can’t you break this rope? It’s an old one.” Kṛṣṇa said, “Yes, my friends, nothing can tie me, nothing can imprison me, nothing can hold me. I am like the wind. Nothing can, no one can own me. I am like space. I belong to no one, but I will always be with everyone. I can break everything, but not this rope. Why not? Because this is the rope of love. This tie I cannot break. There is no power in the universe that can bind me—except one: bhakti, devotion, that love.” Our devotion will liberate us; our devotion will free us. So in Kali Yuga, we can have Sat Yuga, or we can have Kali Yuga. Health and ill-health are always present. Who here is one hundred percent healthy? Some have vitamin B deficiency, some have less vitamin C, some have iron deficiency, some have kidney problems, some have gall bladder issues, some have tooth problems, some have ear problems. Mahāprabhujī kī karunā, Mahāprabhujī kī karunā. Satsaṅg by Sister Sarasvatī. Her name is Sarasvatī, and Sarasvatī means the Goddess of Wisdom. Every student who studies is a devotee of Sarasvatī. In Indian schools, they pray every morning to Goddess Sarasvatī. Some schools have beautiful statues; some only have pictures. Sarasvatī’s chariot is the owl—no, like a big bird. The owl is a symbol of wisdom in every tradition. She also has the white swan, a beautiful white swan, and that swan is the symbol of the soul, pure knowledge, pure wisdom. In her hands she holds a beautiful sitar, or guitar, or tanpura, an instrument. Because wisdom is the resonance that penetrates everything. Who understands the resonance? The heart will melt. And who does not understand will feel disturbed. The form of the Supreme is resonance. Then Sarasvatī has a book in her hand. Why God? For what is God? God is of wisdom, God is of knowledge. Why would He still need a book? Because wisdom has no limitation. So we always pray, “O Lord, bless me. O Mother Sarasvatī, please come and reside in my heart. O Lord, speak from my heart. You speak. I am only the channel, that’s all.” Then Sarasvatī speaks within you. The bhajan was a beautiful bhajan written by Gurujī. You see, it is not easy to get realization. It is not easy to realize your master. If you want to know how one realizes the master, you should have spent time with the Guru. There are some bhaktas who stayed for years with the Guru. One had eighteen hours of mantra practice, but in the name of Mahāprabhujī. And he said, “Whatever he needs, Mahāprabhujī gives him, whatever he needs.” Gurujī said, “I am not a beggar anymore. I don’t depend on anyone; He will give me.” He is giving. Śabakūśa Bevedatā, the Śab Kūś, everything—giving, the giver, Mahāprabhujī, the merciful Mahāprabhujī. Shab Kush Deve Data Deep Dayal—don’t be a beggar anywhere. Only we are beggars at the door of the Lord, that’s all. Sabhukus Devedatā Dīp Dayātā. He can, He can delete, He can remove all poverty and suffering of many, many lives. Mahādhana Detā Viśāl—He gives the great richness. No one can give you that richness. What can Mahāprabhujī Gurujī give? What is that richness? Anyone can take things from your hand, big pocket things, everything. But what you have here, from your Gurudev, and bhakti here in your heart—no one can take that. In India, we used to say in the Rajasthani language, Mīrā Bāī, the great bhakta Mīrā, said: while eating a nice pudding, halvā, or a nice cake, if your teeth are ripped off, it doesn’t matter—eat. While meditating and doing bhakti, if other people are laughing at you, let them laugh, correct? Sab kusā deve dātā dīpa dayālā, janam janam kā dharidhar meṭhe mahā dāna detā visāl. Sab kusā deve dātā dīpa dayālā. He removes all our suffering, all our death. Gurudev can take away and give us that wealth which no one else can give us. What does He give? More. Jñāna, jñāna deve yoga aruya. He gives wisdom, jñāna, and He leads to meditation. He gives you the realization of yoga, the union with the Supreme. He teaches you the technique of how to do the yugatī. Jñāna, jñāna, dhyāna, deve, yoga or yugati techniques. Part 2: Divine Nectar of Devotion and Self-Realization Jñāna, Deve, Ātmā, Jñāna, Yogia, Alādeve, Ātmā, Jñāna, Yogia, Sabhā, Kuśa, Devedatā, Dīpa Dayā. Besides this, he is giving knowledge, meditation, unity, yoga, the techniques, and finally, Deva Ātmā Jñāna Ujjvala, bestowing upon us the enlightenment of self-realization through practice, practice. No doubt you will attain it, no doubt. Aṣṭa Siddhi Nava Nidhi Haridhi; he can give you the eight siddhis. You should read the Līlā Amṛt book, where there is a complete explanation of which siddhis are present. Eight siddhis, nava nidhi, and the nine sources of happiness—that joy which awakens within you and surrounds you. The nine nidhis is a beautiful concept, though it cannot be translated exactly. Aṣṭa Siddhis, Nava Nidhis, and like the nine precious stones, their quality resides within you, within your own self, in your chakras. He can open the door to your happiness—a happiness that no one can take from you, no one at all. If you are happy and someone tells you, "Don't be happy always," will anyone really say that? "Don't be happy always." Okay, but inside you remain happy. These are universal principles. Happiness, joy, peace, love—these are what God has given free of charge. We don't have to pay any tax. How wonderful! Saba Dukha Meṭe Parama Sukhade, Saba Dukha Vandālā, Aṣṭa Siddhi Nava Nidhi Haride. Hari means God Viṣṇu. Anadhana Deta Viśāla, Anadhana Deta Viśāla. Sabhā Kośa Dedā. He will give you abundant nourishment, don't worry. Ana, nourishment; Dhana, material wealth. He gives you so much; don't worry, don't feel poor. So I always tell my disciples and students—I too am a disciple—you know, we are so rich you cannot imagine, because we have Mahāprabhujī. Such richness he has given us. The beauty of it is that this wisdom, knowledge, bhakti, devotion, is something you can use as much as you like; it will never end. Where there is no devotion, only intellect, then there is water in the water tank. When the tank is empty, there is no more water; then you must borrow it. So when your experience and intellectual knowledge run dry, you go to the library and look in a book again to prepare the next day's lecture. The source, when you have a universal source channel as devotion, will never end, never dry up; it will always be there. Olī Gurujī said in one vājan, Prakāśa puñja amṛta ke sāgara, Śrī Dīpa Harī Mahādānī. Prakāśa puñja, the source of light. Amṛta ke sāgara, an ocean of nectar. Śrī Dīpa Harī Mahādānī, the great giver, Harī Mahāprabhujī. Sare Viśvame Gūñj Rahī Prabhukī Amar Kahānī. In the entire universe, the name of Mahāprabhujī is resonating. Like Sarasvatī was chanting, Glory to wisdom. Śabdakāme Te Paramasukhadeve. He will remove all your sorrows, all troubles, don't worry. Parama Sukha Deve, he will give you the highest, highest happiness, called supreme bliss. And he cuts away the net of ignorance, attachment, and suffering for all beings—not only humans but all creatures. If you desire beauty, he will give you that beauty. What beauty? The beauty of the supreme, the beauty of devotion, the beauty of knowledge. The beauty we typically seek is very temporary, merely a pleasure for our eyeballs, that's all. But that other beauty is indescribable. Satyam Śivam Sundaram. That is Śiva. Truth, Satyam; Śivam, the auspicious consciousness; Sundaram, beauty. Sundara Rūpa Jasa Balāyatī De, he gives you strength. He will give you the strength to endure, the strength to overcome, the strength to liberate many others. Sundar Rūpa Jasa Balāyatī, Deepadayal Sabh Kuśna Prabhijay Karat Kripa, he who will make you the hero of this mortal world. He will help you succeed, become the victor over this mortal world, this māyā. You will definitely attain liberation if you have that love, that devotion—no questions at all. Between him and us there should be no curtain. Even a very thin curtain is still a curtain. Uṭhī Brahmāṇḍ kā rājā deve pāle me. In no time, Mahāprabhujī can give you the kingdom of the entire universe if you have that love, if you are that worthy one, that's it. But Gurujī said, "I don't want this burden." I want to be with you, Mahāprabhujī. Mahā Vardhan Sadā Yehi Māṅgu, Janam Janam Haridās Rakhī Jo. I ask you, Mahāprabhujī, for only one thing. That is my greatest wish: in every life, may I be your servant, may I be with you in your Śiva, nothing else. And what do we wish? "Please help me so that my studies go well. Mahāprabhujī, help me pass my exam." Now everything is fine, but I have no job. "Please give me a job." Then I will get a job. We have many, many wishes. We are worldly people, so what should we do? Uṭṭhī Brahmāṇḍ kā Rājdev pāleme, Viśvapati banāte Bhopāl. There is a word "N", not "Barate", "N", okay? Banate Viśvapati, banate Bhopal, sab kus Devatā, dīp dayā. Really, with heart and mind, if you have devotion to God, he will always take care of you. God takes upon himself the destiny of the devotee. Parents take upon themselves the responsibility of truth. Yes? In Australia, nobody answered. This is a problem. In Europe, they will say yes. I think one should not ask an Australian. When I ask, he says, "Okay, you don't like it?" Who would like to go? Please raise your hand. In Europe and India, they will say, "Yes, please." Yes, no, yes, no, yes, no... let us go. Yes, no, let us go. Pratākī Bhakti, Prabhunāhim, selfish devotion, tricky devotion, only for a while—"please, please..." and then after disappearing, God knows what you are, what is going on in your mind and heart. Pratākī Bhakti Prabhunāhim, Sāche Rāche Madan Gopāl, Sāche Rāche Madan Gopāl Sabhā Kusā Deve Datādi So. Kṛṣṇa is happy, Kṛṣṇa is pleased, and Kṛṣṇa blesses where there is true love—no tricky love, no temporary love, but true love. Parahit Kari Asa Koi Nahi. Gurujī said, "I didn't see anyone doing selfless service like Mahāprabhujī in this world." Svarata bina karate niyal, without expectations, without any award, he renders or showers the blessings. I received many letters from Gurujī, and he always wrote: "Blessings, and may the blessing of the nectar of Mahāprabhujī's blessings shower upon Omaheś forever." Some of these letters I will print in my story of life. I need someone who can write. Deep Dayā O Nār Nārī, Ve Dukhyārī Ho Ye Kaṅgal, O Dukhyārī Ho Ye Kaṅgal Jo Nār Nārī, those men and women who criticize God, criticize Gurudevī, Nindā Karate, Ve Dukhyārī Ho Ta Kaṅgal. Finally, they will become very unhappy, full of trouble, and they will lose all the wealth they have gained through their devotion. Therefore, if you cannot dry tears, don't be the cause of tears. If you cannot speak good, then at least don't speak bad. Yes? Three monkeys. Thank you. Bhaktaon Kī Kare Rakhvāl, Bhaktaon Kī Kare Rakhvāl, Sabh Kus Devdā, Śrī Dīp Dayāl, Dīp Mahāprabhujī, Dayāl means the merciful one, Dīp Dayāl, Dayāke Sāgā, he is the ocean of mercy, Bhaktaon Kī Kare Rakhvāl. All who are devotees of God—it doesn't matter whose devotee you are. You are a bhakta of Kṛṣṇa, Rāma, Buddha, Jesus, or masters, any masters. God has no duality. Duality is ours, as people. "I am a disciple of this one; I don't like that one, I don't like this." We have this; God doesn't. Mahāprabhujī and great masters always speak well of every master. Limited knowledge, small knowledge, makes more noise. When a big, nice car passes your door, you hardly notice. But then comes a moped—my God, you hear it from the fourth street away. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. So we should not have small knowledge; we should not be narrow-minded. Let us be open, complete. All gods, bhaktas from every religion, every culture—a devotee is a devotee. He didn't say, "My bhakta only." Gurujī didn't say that, Mahāprabhujī didn't say it. We may sometimes translate that our Gurudev said, "Only my bhakta." We do, but not they. So we are still in ignorance. Śrī Mādhavānanda Ke Ānandbhā, our Gurujī Mādhavānandajī said, "I have such great happiness, great joy, ānanda." Śrī Mādhavānanda ke ānand bhā, pal pal let sambhāl, pal pal let sambhāl. Sab kus deve dātā, sab kus deve dātā, pal pal let sambhāl. Sambhāl, every second he looks after me, takes care of me. When a newborn baby arrives, how often the mother looks in: "Is it okay? Is the baby sleeping well? Is the nose clear, the pillow not in the way?" Parents, every second, every hour, look after the child. Then God will take care of you in everything. Don't you trust him? Don't you believe in him? If you don't believe, then suffer. But if you believe, then it will be. And sometimes it is not easy; God takes very hard tests. Jesus said, "Holy Father, why me?" And he said, "Because, my son, I trust you." And he didn't give up because he believed in the Holy Father. That is our case. We should be like that. Om Śānti Śānti. This evening was meant for questions and answers, but this was a beautiful bhajan, I think, to translate. You liked it? Thank you. But I have answered three questions already inside, okay? I brought a Yoga and Life book. You will like to read it; it's very nice, I'm happy about it. According to your body, health situation—physical, mental—all conditions about children, I already discussed. Suggestions for keeping on track with meditation day by day and storm by storm: just practice. Don't let laziness be your friend. I am just finding the spiritual path; how do I help my family understand if they do not share the same belief? Yes, continue your sādhanā. Don't press your family. Who are you to judge them? Who are you to press them? You can explain once what you are doing. If they like it, they can join, but you should maintain a very beautiful family relationship, family life. Love your parents, love your partners, love your children, love your house pets, love your flowers and gardens, okay. This is a very long question. Can someone summarize it in one word? Come on, all in one word. What about it? I'll tell you, you know already. Also, a long question: "Is it necessary to withdraw from the world?" Yes, one day, the last day, when you can't breathe anymore. You know, there was a question at the conference about pollution problems in the world. We are now living in a "use and throw" world. So one asks, "Where to throw?" Wherever you throw, it's still on this planet, yes? So, is it necessary to withdraw from the world? No. Achieve oneness, and one can live in the world. Please, please live in the world. Maybe you don't like it, but we need you. The world needs you. That's why I am always traveling, experiencing many things: good, bad, pleasant, unpleasant, hard, good. But I say, I am not traveling for myself. I know there are people who need guidance. I don't live for myself; I live for someone. There are many who live only for themselves, but rare are those who live for others. There are many who die for themselves, but rare are those who die for others. Can we live in the world and still accomplish this? How can we enjoy all that God has given? You should know how to enjoy. God has given, so enjoy; that is a very good word. You should always be inside joy. When you have no inner joy, then you can't enjoy, okay? So in joy, that joy within you is the fountain of joy; within you is the ocean of bliss; within you is the divine self. Kill this little "I," the ego, and lead the divine life, said Swami Śivānandajī of Ṛṣikeś. How can we enjoy all that God has given without losing ourselves to it? You will never lose yourself, okay? Just be happy, be happy. Do good, help everyone. If you can't help, then at least don't disturb. Karma will come back. If you cannot build up someone's faith, at least don't destroy it. So, if one family member goes on the spiritual path and others don't like it, they should at least not disturb that person, which spiritually builds them. No time, no sleep. What should I do? Why don't you have time? There are 24 hours. Oh my God! If you have a lot of pain and the doctor says he will come to operate on you in 24 hours, you know how many yugas that feels like? If you have a lot of pain. So, sleep eight hours. Now you have sixteen hours. Work eight hours—oh, your economy will blossom. Who works eight hours continuously without drinking juice or cola in between? But still, you have eight hours left. When you have to fly eight hours in an airplane with a very narrow seat, you know it feels like endless time. So now you still have eight hours. Eight hours sleeping, eight hours working, you still have eight hours. What are you doing in that time? Cooking, washing, okay? Who cooks every day? The lucky one. You might quickly go and buy fast food, but okay, cooking, shopping—one hour, one and a half hours; eating, one hour. Okay, you still have five hours. What are you doing with these five hours? Telephoning? Okay, take two hours for that. Now you still have three hours. Practice yoga in these three hours. Don't do yoga nidrā before going to sleep, otherwise your sleep won't be complete because you will wake up very fresh and be unable to sleep. Some people practice yoga nidrā before going to sleep at night; that's not good. Sleep is very necessary for our body and mind. Sleep is the only thing that remains to free us from stress in this Kali Yuga, in this hectic world. So sleep, please. At least six hours—good six hours you should sleep. One day, okay; two days, okay; but finally, sleep. If you don't sleep enough, you will lose your memory; it will create distress for you. What does real freedom mean? When everybody comes and accompanies us to the beautiful funeral ground, then we are free from this world. So real freedom is to become free from rebirth and death, from this circle of 8.4 million different creatures. Śrī Śrī... Purījī, Purījī... But only one title, and for that, even God has no title. We don't say Dr. God, Engineer God, or Nobel Prize winner God. Just God. You know how beautiful it is—just love. There is no such thing as Dr. Love. Just love. God. Peace. Happiness. How beautiful is that! The Sanskrit language and other languages have given such beautiful words for wisdom. We make it complicated. We write "the love."
