The Invocation of Deities and the Establishment of the Yajña

The yajña is the eternal ritual of cosmic purification and divine invocation. Deities are invoked through mantra, establishing their presence within the sacrificial arena. All planetary forces, directional guardians, and millions of śakti forms converge here. The Vāstu deity presides over any construction, its form invoked as countless divine architects. Elemental protectors are appointed to guard the ritual from disturbance; their power can pacify storms. This practice grants immense merit, multiplying blessings for all participants. It is not merely external fire but the internal purification of the mind's coverings.

Part 1: The Invocation of Deities and the Establishment of the Yajña Grapatamā tamjāsi grapatamā o māṅgrapat heśvā, māṅgrapat heśvā... I have taken the water of Adam and with a single tooth I have transformed the crooked serpent. With that tooth, Ganapati along with the guardians of the five worlds is invoked. Indra along with the guardians of the directions is present, the nine planets along with Surya are there, the nine forms of power along with Umā are present, Agni along with the nine protective deities is beloved, and the people are nurtured by Janan, Indra along with the guardians of the directions, and Surya along with the nine. There were nine planets including Agni, and nine coverings including Śiva; in this way, all the planets became the hosts of the Mantra deities, the worship was done, the invocation was completed, and the primal water was taken. Now, among these planets, which is your kuṛ devī? Which is your kuṛ devī? Which is your kuṛ devī...? Viṣṭu is the next limb, the sixteen million, the seat of mātrikā, iṣṭāp yāmī, take it by hand, take it firmly by hand, take iṣṭāp by hand, lift it up by hand, that’s it. You hold it with your right hand, come, no, first give the plate, come, take this one, that’s it, take a little bit carefully. The mātrikā devatā, the sixteen koṭi śakti devī, Viṣṭu, the limbs of the yajña, the beings of the yajña, those Viṣṭu yajñas, I perform, I worship, I honor always with saffron, sandalwood, kumkuma, white turmeric, gular, rose, molē. Worship with reverence. Om Ambhī Ambhī... Who am I to you? I am not gold, nor am I a mere blanket of comfort. I am not Om Ambhī, nor am I a name to be casually uttered. I am worshipped with incense, flowers, and lamps; I am offered medicines. For twelve years, I will chant the mantra, and you must perform the ārṣaṇa. These twelve ślokas are the power of the deity of the yajña. The limbs and elements are manifesting here, alright. In this, Navadurga, the tenth vidhi, the sixteen mātrikās, the fifty-one śakti pīṭhas, and the aṣṭotra devīyas will all come together. Prajñāyai namaḥ prajñāyai namaḥ... I surrender myself. There are sixteen crore powers throughout the world. Participate in this yajña and make our yajña successful. Just place it on a plate and take another plate, and put ten rupees in it. One power will be activated; may the yajña be auspicious and victorious. In the sacrifice, the elemental forces were united as one power. Bhagavān Rudra, in the yajña of Dakṣa Prajāpati, manifested Vīrabhadra through the fire of anger, and Satī, through the yoga fire, reduced her body to ashes. Bhagavān Śiva, in a fierce form, scattered that body of yoga fire into fifty-one pieces, which Bhagavān Viṣṭu then arranged. Śiva, in his fierce manifestation... He took it, and where his limb fell, there Lord Śiva himself took a different form, establishing 51 crore powerful deities here in the yajña. For that, this great Mahā Kumbha was consecrated. Now, brother, place the mound and the mother, and I am coming to apply it. O Mālakṣmī Aiśvā, O Mālakṣmī Aiśvā... O Mahālakṣmī, O Balā, with this, along with the great Lakṣmī Devatā, sixteen crore one pāśa śakti, sixteen crore tīrtha devatā, and the beloved Jalaṇ from the ocean—thus, the invocation of these śakti tattvas has taken place. In the entire universe, in the Bhūmaṇḍala, sixteen crore devatās have come from Vaikuṇṭha as forms of śakti, and one crore have come from the Bhūmaṇḍala. As Śakti, there are one hundred and sixteen crore deities, and as Viṣṭu, there are sixteen crore deities. In the Viṣṭu yāga, the elements, the bhūta vāstu, the pūṭa vāstu, and the pīṭa are established. Now take a plate and arrange these properly. The serpent vāstu deity is here, this is the gas, this is the tiṣṭha. In the Viṣṭu yāga, the elements, the bhūta vāstu, and the kuṃba are established and worshipped. This earth sphere, whatever construction work takes place upon it, the deity of that construction work is Vāstu. Whether you build a Sai temple, a Sai monastery, a Sai hut, a Sai thatched hut, a Sai elegant house, or a Sai factory, whenever construction work happens, its deity is Vāstu. So this Omkāra in the form of 108 bungalows, which is being established as an āśrama, its deities, the vāstu, are represented here as 81 crore deities in the form of śilpī. They have been invoked, and now their pūjā will be performed. Now you all perform pūjā with soul flowers, with flowers; just add a little soul, don’t put too much. They are the cruel ones, the demonic ones, the oppressive ones, Om the sinful ones, Om the diseased ones, Om the unworthy ones, Om the principal ones, Om the destructive ones, Om the lunar ones, Om the serpentine ones, the solar ones, the divine ones, the water ones, salutations to the noble ones, salutations to the sons, salutations to the destroyers, Iskandai. Salutations to Arimane, salutations to Jamrakāī, salutations to Philipisāī, salutations to Indrāī, salutations to Agni, salutations to Yamāī, salutations to Nṛt, salutations to Varuṇāī, salutations to Vāyave, salutations to Kubedāī, salutations to Īśvāī. O Bhagavān, I offer this pūjā mantra and puṣpāñjalī, and from all ten directions, the āśrama of Jñān Jñān Bāpsī has been established; these are present throughout the entire universe. May the presiding deity of the Pratega Āśrama, the eighty-one crore deities, protect that Āśrama. May no enemy from the realms of gods, demons, humans, or the three worlds enter its domain. Vāstu devatā vyo namaḥ. I offer dakṣiṇā as a token of welcome and auspiciousness. I present this dakṣiṇā with reverence to the 81 crore Vāstu devatās for their welcome and protection. Place it there, and put the plate there. Take the other plate, no, yes, take the plate and place the dakṣiṇā. This is for the eighty-one crore Vināyaka tīrtha yajñas. I invoke Viṣṭu, the embodiment of the sacrificial elements, Vināyaka, Kumba, and I establish them firmly in Viṣṭu, in the earth, in the water, on land, and in the sky. May the 108 crore Bhagavān Gaṇapati fulfill this yajña and bless these sacred places. Now place the offerings on the altar and begin the āvāti. O Bhūn Bāskarā Eśvāḥ, O Bhūn Bāskarā Eśvāḥ,... O Bhūn Bāskarā, a ruler and protector, Tirt Dev is here, here is Teṣṭ Viṣṭu, the limbs and beings, protector of yoginīs, I establish in the body. Now take the plate here, take some rice, a little kṣa. Om, with sixty yoginīs, along with one branch, protector Sedrpal, Terat Dev, Yāgasi, Yāt, Iṣṭha Viṣṭha, Yāg limbs and beings, Bhavān, I invoke, I desire, I worship. Faith is the foundation; the sacred items like kumkuma, marigold, ghee, and roli have all been brought for the pūjā. Now, please perform the ārṣaṇā, alright? This ārṣaṇā is quite significant—first it is 160, then 150. So, with a humble hand, continue to remain devoted always. Namah, Prasadhavajayi Namah, Thirisholoshanayi Namah, Shaktidharayi Namah, Sun Pān Hī Namah Om Sarva Deva Mayāya Mayasvarāya Namah Ye Śiva Pariyār Ke Samast Devatā Padār Gaīṃ Valo Ye Ke Bagavāne Kī Bārā Karod Jotir Liṅga Devatā Saurāṣṭe Sumanātam Srī Sele Malikār Janam Ujaniyā Mahākāla Omkāra Mamaleśvaram Paralyāma Vaidanātam, Dākinīyam, Himisaṅkaram, along with twelve jyotir liṅgas, there are one crore deities; these twelve crore jyotir include 11 crore Rudra deities, and along with them, 160 crore yoginīs, 51 crore Bairava, Sitrapāla, and 8 crore Mā Bairava. All these deities of the Rudra family have been invoked in the yāga for protection. In the yajña, offer your oblations, brother. The fruit is the dakṣiṇā. Invoke Rudra, Mannaḷ, and the deities with reverence. Offer the dakṣiṇā for the fruit. For the welcome, offer samara and piyāmi; just place the oblation and let it fly. Now take a thin plate and offer anmādr along with the dakṣiṇā. Here it is, aṣṭo tare, twelve crore tīrtha deities. This is the offering to Viṣṇu in the yajña, the limbs of Rudra, twelve crore tīrtha iṣṭāpya. Now apply them as they come. O Mahā Mṛtuñjā Heśvā, O Mahā Mṛtuñjā Heśvā... O Mahā Mṛtyuñjā, the worship of Saguṇa Brahm has been completed. Victory to Bhagavān! Now, take ten pieces of cloth, one by one, quickly. Do not spoil the plate. Take ten first, keep them aside. Hungvar, keep them aside. Show ten, then give one from the four. First, put a little flower, mother, flower arrangement, rise. Whether seated or standing, arise, arise with strength, and arise with vigor, arise with vigor, it seems not right, there is some hesitation, enough, enough, you too arise with vigor, arise with vigor, say, this is Indra, Puru Just as when the vāsvī arrives, there is its protection; when the prime minister or the rāṣṭapati comes, there is a higher level of protection; when Bhagavān Vishṭu arrives, his protection extends in all ten directions. Indeed, the powerful Yagī, whom they call the digpāla, is also reigning here, guarding the yajña. Alright, moving forward, next is the topic of Yama, the southern guardian. Perform the sacrificial rites diligently and keep the offerings ready. Near that place is Dharmarāja himself. Dharmarāja has two names: Yamarāja and Dharmarāja. These beings lived for hundreds of thousands of years—what was the secret behind that? The rule was that when one donates the Brahmabīja and then performs the Gāyatrī yajña, Yamarāj is seated in the form of Dharmarāj, and he is instructed to protect my lifespan and not allow the mortals to perish. Apart from this, your department is of mortals; as long as we perform this, as long as our lifespan... Who will protect, who will cause destruction, that is why the ṛṣis and maharṣis won millions of boons, because even Yamrāj himself would retreat when the mortal was ahead... And no harm should come, no affliction should arise; this is the blessing of Bhagavān. Hence, O people, do not destroy; grant protection. Varuṇa is the guardian of the western direction, the protector and savior. This is the sacred duty. Keep the sacred fire of the guru in the western direction; keep your offerings nearby. Varuṇa Bhagavān, along with the recitations of the Ninda and Koḍitṛt mantras, is protecting this yajña. And this is the water element. In a yajña, the water element should never be disturbed. There can never be heavy rainfall, a destructive storm, clouds gathering, or flooding during a yajña. Once the yajña begins, the storm ceases. In my life, I have witnessed many times such extraordinary equilibrium. The deities of the five elements are appointed in the yajña for protection. Once, we performed a yajña at Bairāram Jī Sodharī, Pradhān Bhupālgat. There, a severe storm began, and our yajña had just started. Bairāram Jī said, "Bābsī, there is a severe storm, and it will reach Jaipur." I said, "Stop it at Jālor." I have witnessed many extraordinary divine manifestations of Bhagavān in my life, such as these protectors of the sacrificial fire who guard the yajña. Take this, the Vāyu, the wind deity, who performs these acts of protection. O Pavan Devatā, please grant these tenfold powers; I am accompanied by the tenfold deities present in the yajña with the wind deity. In the storm of the yāgya, protection can never be disrupted. In the year two thousand and two, Mahākāla manifested, and to appease Mahākāla’s mother, we constructed a yāgya altar in the Śvāna Kuṇḍī yāgya pond at Paṇḍ Jī Ḍhānī. People said that within two years the pond would fill up, but I said this is a test to conclude the worship of Mahākāla. If the sacrificial fire becomes impure, then the storm will turn into a firestorm. What is this, O wind deity? The sacrificial fire is the direction of the sacrifice. We will perform the sacrifice; if the storm stops a day before, then we have done this for Pūrṇimā. The storm ceased, and blessings were received. O my beloved, where Bhagavān Kabīr resides, there is no lack of wealth in the sacrifice. They do not allow it; Kabīr is always present, but the infinite Kabīr has manifested here. Those who have returned to the āśrama, who have awakened everywhere, have never experienced a lack of wealth, and in every action, in every action... In the form of karma, they reside in the ocean of the head, enduring with patience. The gods of the ten directions, the Śeṣa Nāga with his twelve crore family members, remain in the netherworld, protecting the Yajñī by residing below, steadfastly guarding the Yajñī. Pūnavatī Pūnavatī... Āśāre removed my garment just in time. Āśāre leaves and tells the king, "Rājā, the yajña was very good, but a living being is being killed. Some creatures are trapped beneath the stake you have installed." And if it is untrue, then take out this bar, and it will be written soaked in blood from the lye; when the bar is taken out, it will be soaked in blood from the lye, and the nāga was bitten, the nāga was bitten. Then, for the return, it was applied again—Bhagavān was bitten. The doubts arise as to who did this work, that such a thing happened. It is only your own prātirāsavān who was given authority, and the authority was passed on to Rāma. When the name was chanted, the enemies were defeated; the Mughals were attacked, and the Turks were overthrown—this is a historical fact. All the rulers who governed did so under the influence of this yajya. Om Viṣṭameśvāḥ, Om Indrāyeśvāḥ, Om Rudrāyeśvāḥ, Om Agnāyeśvāḥ, Yamāyeśvāḥ. Om Varunāyeśvāḥ Nērthāyeśvāḥ Vāyaveśvāḥ Udhirāyeśvāḥ Om Ēsānyeśvāḥ Om Brahmaneśvāḥ Unantāyeśvāḥ āga santu yajña pūrṇā yajña pūrṇam karo tumheṁ ye gī kā pūrṇa pātara hai ismeṁ sāth gī kī deviyāṁ virāj māneṁ jis yajña meṁ gartha pātara rakhā jātā hai vo yajña akṣē It is believed that those goddesses enter the yajña, adorned with garlands, angosha, and pitambara. Remove the red cloth, then give a pillow; after that, no one should leave the āsana. Remove the cloth and proceed. Ashvani is flying; how many Ashvani are there among us? Yes, the life force is flying, so it is about awakening the kuṇḍalinī, awakening the kuṇḍalinī fully, awakening it completely, awakening the kuṇḍalinī, awakening the kuṇḍalinī... awakening it. Sanskrit and Hindi terms include, cakra, prāṇa, kuṇḍalinī, ātmā, Brahman, samskāra, namaste, praṇam, śakti, kīrtan, om, namaste, praṇam, śakti, kīrtan, om,... The sutra has been recited, Oṁ namo pramāṇi devāya, go pramāṇi tāyachā, jagat sāstāya kiṣṇāya, govindaāya, namo namahā vāha, it truly corrects the imbalance, Vārḍī, just one minute, go, just one minute, go, broti, namo prāmāṇi devāya, go prāmāṇi devāya sā, jagat sāstā kiṣṇāya, go mindāya, namo. Namahā, Viṣṭu is the one who performs actions, the supreme authority, the Brahman; before them, I bow to the Brahman deity. To Gov Brahman, I offer salutations; to Jagasvāstār, to Kiṣṇāya, to Govindāi, I bow repeatedly. To the three Brahman deities, I offer salutations. To the radiant Govindāi, to Jagasvāstār, to Kiṣṇāya, to Govindāi, I bow repeatedly. To the three Brahman deities. Oṃ, the greatness of Tāvan is manifest; the mighty feet of the Lord encompass all beings. The sovereign of the three worlds, in the heavens, you yourself sit upon the wheel. Every tilaka is made by Babujī; you are the fortunate one. Salutations to the Brahman deity, the giver of cows and wealth. When the breath flows, salutations to Kṛṣṇa, the giver of cows. Namo namaḥ. The feet of the great beings have touched the ground; the breath of the body is steady, the posture is firm, now just remain seated... By this, the five crore forms of Īśradeva are not for my own benefit or for the sake of yajña. Lakṣmī-Nārāyaṇ has arrived; now take water. With this form, the deity presides over the yajña karma. The portion has been offered to Nārāyaṇ. All the deities have manifested. Now there will be a rest period for all the deities, and you all will also partake. The entire city is illuminated with lamps dedicated to Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān. Glory to Mādhava, Rishṇa Bhagavān, and all the deities and gods. Chant "svā" along with all the svāhās; by doing this, you too will receive the fruits of the yajña. And remember, while sitting in the yajña, do not change your place until the yajña is completed. All those who are participating and witnessing the yajña, please remain seated here and receive the benefits of the yajña. After the merits of many births, one attains the vision of the Viṣṭū Yajña. You are indeed very fortunate to be witnessing this yajña. The actions performed in the house during the yajña yield ten times the merit; in the cowshed, it is a hundred times; and in the cowshed with the cattle, it is a thousand times more. After the cowshed, in the forest by the pond, bathing there grants a hundredfold merit; by bathing in the rivers, one attains a thousandfold merit; by bathing on the banks of the Phāl river, one attains ten thousandfold merit; by bathing in the presence of Śiva, one attains a hundred thousandfold merit; and by bathing in the presence of the Guru, one attains a crore-fold merit. Performing yajña through the Guru yields results multiplied by a crore times; therefore, this yajña belongs to all of you through the Guru, and that too through the Viśva Dīpa Kula Guru, the Guru of the entire world. This yajña will be conducted in the presence of the Viśva Gurujī, and it will destroy all your sins, curses, and sufferings, fulfilling your heartfelt desires. Now, with this yajña, the auspicious moments are approaching. The full moon will rise at 1:15 and the return will begin at 2:15. I will come at 2:15. Part 2: The Eternal Yajña and the Path of Remembrance You all continue to have darśana here and receive the blessings of the return. Jimanatu Hareṃ Choṭmā Ko Se Om Pavitra Pavitra Vasarva Vastam Gato Viva. Victory to Bhagavān, victory to the yajña of Bhagavān, victory to Viṣṇu Bhagavān, victory to the yajña of the Ācārya, victory to the yajamānas, victory to all the pragaṇas. O devotees devoted to dharma, mothers, just now from the mouth of Ācārya Śrī you have heard how after many births one attains the vision of yajña, where yajña takes place, and how much fruit it yields. Fortunate indeed are those who have wandered in yajña. And it is also the fortune of those who could not come but are here with us in spirit, with their soul. Their misfortune is that even though they know, they are not remembering. This yajña has been going on since the Satya Yuga through countless ages. Do not think of it as merely a fire ritual; rather, it is said through research that yajña is actually the purification of the mind’s coverings. Purification takes place—in the village, in the home, everywhere—bringing peace and bliss. Yajña should be honored, and prayers should be offered to Bhagavān: O Lord, please bring peace and the joy of rain to our home, our village. Bless us with happiness. For the next two hours, offerings will be made; you should mentally participate in the offerings as well. Get up from the yajña and leave now. Ācārya Jī said that it is inauspicious; such an opportunity does not come repeatedly in a lifetime. If you come tomorrow, in the evening, you will at least get to have darśana of the yajña koṇḍiyā vedī. It will accompany you and be a blessing for the jīva. You are the ājñāsālī; there is much work in the world, and all beings engage in a lot of work. Touching also works, letters also work, birds also keep doing something or the other. O human, you have worked for countless births, you have slept, eaten, drunk, and enjoyed for countless births, O supremely wise one. Now, at least take the name of Īśvara a little. Scientists and the Vedic culture, along with the ṛṣis and munis, have created this. Their downfall occurs otherwise. Therefore, by folding your hands and offering salutations to Bhagavān with body, mind, and speech, you are fortunate to participate in this. The fragrances mixed with the smoke here enter our bodies and prāṇas. We do not realize their value, but I would say—what benefit is there? I pause after each and every bāṇī because the ācārya is also present, and we do not let Yagya Bhagavān be tested. So, you all are seated with love and blessings. I too will be satisfied with you in two hours. Say, "Victory to Yagya Bhagavān, Gajānand Bhagavān, Śaṅkara Bhagavān, and all the deities!" Take the sacred water of the self; it is good for you, O divine ones. After two hours you should be there. If not, then sit here and in Mansik Bhāva, mentally you can give the outing. Okay? Hari Om. Place your finger on the forehead, focus your mind, and chant with devotion: Om Keśavāya Namaḥ, Om Mādhavāya Namaḥ, Om Govindāya Namaḥ, Om Haraḥ Haraḥ Śivaḥ Namaḥ. Now, you have taken the water of life, the Ātman, the life principle. Speak of Viṣṇu, the sacrifice, and knowledge, knowledge... Slowly, slowly... If the deity remains asleep, then the journey is distant; digging and marking, O mind, grant me the auspicious vision, svāhā. By which actions are purified, the world is created, and there is the power of the sun and the moon. O mind, grant me the auspicious vision, svāhā. When prāṇa is controlled, when the mind is restrained, when the light shines, the immortal among beings is known. May some humble action be performed by me; may my mind be filled with a Śiva-like resolve. Svāhā. May I not be deluded by the world, present or future, nor be misled by false opinions. They have invoked the ancient Puruṣa with the oblation "svāhā." By this yajña, the beings have been made yajña-like. The gods, with their offerings, have established the worlds. In the sacred silence, free from obstacles, where the Sādhya gods dwell, may there be peace, O gods, svāhā. Without fear, firmly established, truly engaged in the cosmic work, abiding in the essence of all, like the dawn dispelling darkness, he always knows that eternal truth. The Vedas declare this great being, the supreme person, the ultimate refuge. Beyond all else, knowing Him alone, one transcends death; there is no other path. Sleep is a difficult enemy, a fierce foe. When will it depart? O Svāmījī, the leader of the day, the lord of the senses, the one who rules the south, the one who offers Soma to the gods, the army of the gods is called by this name. O mighty one, by this name, victory is attained. By this name, the winds increase, the Marutas are appeased, the great mind is pacified, and the earth is nourished. O gods, by this name, victory is achieved. Svāhā. The upward-moving prāṇa, like the swift arrow, does not waver; the mighty vāyus do not falter. The victorious beings, O Svāmījī, do not succumb. Our Svāmījī, the supreme ruler, is unshakable. May our Svāmījī always triumph. May our Svāmījī descend upon us. May he rise within us like the dawn. We revere our Svāmījī with devotion. Fear not the grasp of the senses, for he is beyond their reach. O Brahmānīta Varmaṇa, may you be covered and protected; may you be the sovereign, adorned with dust; may Varuṇa, the lord of the mountains, and the rays of the sun grant victory; may the Vāṇadevas protect you; O Svāmī, Om, may you shine forth, may you spread, may you advance, O Soma, moving forward, resounding, unimpeded. Protect me, protect those who protect themselves; may the progeny flourish, radiant in the womb. Svāhā, may the rising one be born. This is the steadfastness that the moon gods possess, the steadfastness of the east, the origin of the universe. We bow with reverence to the great mother, who, with her radiant rays, dispels the darkness of ignorance. In the qualities of victory and gentle breath, she prevails eternally. In the primal earth, in the rising light, in the waning moon, moving with the fiery energy, settling and bowing down, contemplating with intention, the deity born of Savitā’s brilliance pervades the worlds. Rudra, Śiva, in their terrible form, embodying sin and suffering, pacify those beings. The sages of Mayāgiri, the saints, reflect deeply, their own nature pure and serene. They dwell in the sacred spaces, steadfast and composed. The one who speaks with a pure heart, whose nature is steadfast and unwavering, is truly the first goddess, the revered Bhikkhā. She encompasses all beings and all existence, ever blessed and supreme. Like the earth that supports all, she is pure and radiant, shining forth like the rising dawn. The terrible sins are pacified by him; surrounded by saints, I contemplate the saints. How can one describe the profound knowledge? It became a wondrous mantra, observed by the eyes. The well-formed serpents flow; the great god Viśvakarma is the foremost deity. Those noble beings who bear the invincible name, the eternal lord of men and sons, the master of the sacred Śiva, the auspicious one, the supreme ruler, endowed with long life and wealth, who perform sacred rites and dwell in the abode of Pināka, who bestow blessings and are benevolent, to them we offer salutations. In this sacred grove, with focused minds and concentrated intellects, they wield countless weapons. When anger arises, the mind and body tremble; the beings of the world are restless. From one side comes the Rudrabhāga with its fierce torment, and from the other side, the Rudrabhāga with its harshness restrains the creatures. We are servants of the divine, bound by karma. The wealth of the intellect is the wealth of the mind; through effort and endeavor, one attains success. The disguise of the world is manyfold—disguises of the warrior, the man, the ascetic, and the lord of the senses.
