Yoga is power of transformation

Yoga is the universal principle balancing the universe, a science of body, mind, consciousness, and soul for physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. It harmonizes the individual with the cosmic. The practice begins with purifying the body through its constituent five elements. Specific techniques include drinking and evacuating salty water, cleansing the nasal passages, and internal purification practices like Śaṅkha Prakṣālana. Breath control, posture, concentration, and meditation develop health and self-inquiry. Consciousness evolves through levels from unconscious to cosmic. Energy centers, or cakras, within the body must function correctly to maintain vitality. This integrated science is a way of life leading to individual and global peace.

"Yoga means union. The union of the individual consciousness with the cosmic consciousness."

"Health is not everything, but everything is nothing without health."

Part 1: The Universal Principles of Yoga Asato mā sad gamaya. Lord, lead us from the unreality to reality. Tamaso mā jyotir gamaya. Lead us from the darkness of ignorance to the light of wisdom. And lead us out of the darkness of knowledge into the light of wisdom. Mṛtyor mā mṛtam gamaya. Lead us from mortality to immortality. Lead us out of death into immortality. Śānti, śānti, śānti. Peace, peace, peace. Peace, peace, peace. Salutations to the cosmic light, Lord of our heart, source of our life, omniscient and omnipresent. In the presence of the merciful God, my dear brothers and sisters, good evening. It is nice to see you this evening. I am happy to be again in this beautiful hall, in your beautiful city, Ljubljana, and the divine message which I am bringing is the message of yoga for the well-being of human society, for the love and protection of all. For the love and protection of all creatures, all beings, and the environment. Yoga is universal and most ancient; nothing is older than Yoga. Yoga is a kind of principle; it is that principle which balances the entire universe. All the stars and planets, visible and invisible elements, all are balanced in this universe. The third level is done through the power of yoga. The awakening of consciousness from the level of unconsciousness to super-consciousness is done through yoga. God Kṛṣṇa said, "Whenever I manifest myself in this world, I appear through my yoga power, Śakti." Yoga is the science of the body, mind, consciousness, and soul. It is the spiritual power. Regardless of religion, culture, or age, everyone can utilize this in their life to benefit, to gain physical, mental, and spiritual development. Regardless of your culture, religion, or age, everyone can use yoga for their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. The oldest ancient literature we know is the Vedas. The Vedas were written 8,000 years ago. And before it was spoken and delivered from master to disciple. In the Vedas, yoga is also spoken about. There is no system existing which can be older than yoga. There is a system that is older than yoga. Yoga means to harmonize the body, mind, and consciousness. And literally, which is translated into many books, yoga means union. The union of the individual consciousness with the cosmic consciousness. Individual consciousness with cosmic consciousness, which is our aim, the aim of each and every creature, this is a little glimpse of yoga, the principles of yoga, in order to get the balance, harmony, and union. These principles are a positive way of life: to know that there is God, to believe in the supreme power, to overcome the duality between the individual and the cosmic one. Through the prayers, through the meditations, through the serving and loving, helping, develop the mercy in your heart, the kindness. These principles make a being of God. These are the divine qualities of humans, and these are the principles of yoga. Every religion in this world, from ancient times to the present, has these principles: pray, believe, meditate, serve, love, be kind, be good. They are rooted in yoga. Yoga doesn’t belong to any particular religion. But every religion has its roots in yoga. Since yoga is a spiritual science, to achieve the highest goal in this human life, we need to support our life to live a long life. The awakening, the development, the achievement doesn’t take place from one night to another morning. It’s a long process, therefore we need a long life. And therefore, yoga begins from the very preliminary steps. Our subject this evening is cakra and kuṇḍalinī yoga. What is consciousness? What is mind? What is consciousness? What is the mind? But first, I would like to introduce you to some of the different faculties of yoga. Because there are many friends here who have different interests. So, let’s begin with the first step of the yoga. Dear friends, whatever you will hear this evening, take what you like. I would say that one aspirant comes to the Master and asks the Master for help. "Master, I am unhappy. I am ill. I have pain. Help me." Now, how does the Master help the person? Master asks him, "Who are you?" Come near. The master touches the shoulder of the disciple and asks him, "What is this?" My shoulder, he touches the head. What is this? My head, it’s my body, so Master tells him, "It means you are not this body, so tell me, who is ill? Are you ill, or is the body ill?" You are not ill. We say, "It is my body, my emotions, my feelings, my soul, my feelings, my feelings." So constantly, who is talking within you, saying, "It’s mine"? So who are you, who is saying always "mine"? Who am I? Who am I? From where do I come? What is the purpose of my coming in this life, and where will I go? This is the task for you. Go and find out, and then come to me. In order to find this answer, we need a long time. Though we are not this body, still this body is our body. Only we can work through this body. If the body is here, for you everything is here. If the body is not here, nothing is here for you. So we need to keep this body healthy. One scientist said, one philosopher said, "Health is not everything, but everything is nothing without health." And we used to say in India, first wealth is good health. Water, Fire, Air, Earth, and Space. The solid part of the body represents the earth element. The liquid part of the body represents the water element. The warmth of this body represents the fire element, and the breath system, the breathing process, represents the air element. The empty parts in the body represent the space, the ether element. I told in the beginning, yoga is a balancing principle, so if some of the elements are out of this balance, then illness appears, and now we shall again get a treatment. Now, the yogī says, he gives the example of a house or a building, which is very logical. Your house is old and damaging, you call some engineers, you want to reconstruct the house, you want to rebuild the house. You want to rebuild the house, you want to rebuild the house, you want to rebuild the house, you want to rebuild the house, and they want to repair the house. The house is made out of bricks, lime or cement, water, air, and space. All these four elements, five elements are present in your house too. The engineer will utilize those elements to repair the house. He will use those elements to repair the house. Now, our body is also constructed from the five elements. If we have some illness there, then we can repair our body with the help of these five elements, which speak about natural therapy, water therapy, earth therapy, heat therapy, air therapy, and so on. This is dharma, the principle of nature, to be growing, to be grown, born, grown, and die. This is dharma, the principle of nature, to be born, to grow, and to die. Besides this, they concentrated on nourishment. I think it was a Greek philosopher who said, "We live for eating, or we are eating for living." So you can ask yourself, are you living for eating, or are you eating for living? So, you can ask yourself: do you eat to live, or do you live to eat? If you are eating for living, then take care of what you are eating. We need the right nourishment for our body. This plant needs the right nourishment. If you give the wrong nourishment, if you give the wrong fertilizer, the plant will die. You have a motor with a diesel engine or a petrol engine. You should not put it in water. Similarly, this physical motor which you have is a water motor. But if you put vodka inside, alcohol, how will it function? It will be the same condition as if you put water in a diesel engine. Therefore, nourishment. In yoga, there is one therapy that is called kāya kalpa. Kāya kalpa means to regenerate the body. There were a few yogīs who made such a scientific work, and one of them, at the age of 80 years, became like 18 years. I tried very hard to get his recipes, but I couldn’t find them. If I find it, be sure you will be the first one to get it. His therapy was a natural therapy. The first therapy was to clean the body. This physical body is full of the vikāras. This physical body is full of vikāra. Vikāra means impurities. We can clean our body outside with water, with soap, with air, with earth. But how to clean the inner part of the body? There are hatha yoga techniques developed by yogīs. It’s very important what I am telling you, dear friends. Because I don’t think that anyone of us, including myself, who is sitting here is 100% healthy. If you do these techniques which I am telling you, you will be very happy. Who doesn’t want to be healthy? And who doesn’t want to be happy? Who likes to take only tablets every day? But we are doing. So haṭha yoga are the purification techniques. It can be learned easily, and it can be practiced easily. It takes a few minutes every day, but you will be so surprised. Many of you, but you will be surprised how many diseases will disappear from the body. Yogī says that the main cause of our illnesses is our stomach. Because we don’t take care of our stomach, we always try to feed the stomach. And the poor stomach has its own limitations. What one cannot digest creates the vikāras in the body again. They developed the Āyurveda system later on. Āyurveda means life, and Veda means knowledge. How to keep life healthy and long? In Ayurveda, they speak about eating. They tell that you should eat only when you are hungry. And they say that we should eat only when we are hungry. When am I hungry? What does hunger mean? An Ayurveda doctor says you are really hungry when you will enjoy this ten-day-old dry bread. Without butter, without cheese, without nice Slovenian olives and oils, then you are really hungry, then eat, but we do not have that much time to wait. Our mouth is moving nearly every ten minutes. And if not something else, then at least chewing gum. We lost the discipline. In Haṭha Yoga, purification techniques, I will tell you, are very useful. They are very useful. You can try them yourself at home, or learn with your yoga teachers. In your country, there are many, many yoga teachers. They are very good yoga teachers. Some of them are yoga and daily life teachers. So, I will tell you the techniques. The first technique, what they are saying, is that every morning you drink lukewarm water with a little salt inside, two liters. Drink two liters of salty, lukewarm water before breakfast. Take a glass and drink, and drink, and drink. So much drink that you can’t drink anymore. Two liters, three liters, one liter—it depends on the person. Then you press your left hand on your abdomen, lean down, and lean on the wash basin or commode. Open your mouth; all the water will come out again. You help with it. Two fingers to vomit it out. It sounds funny, it sounds frightening, but you will be surprised what all comes out. Sometimes we have a problem with acidity. Za uvek. Ali funkcioniše. Then you can eat whatever you want to eat, as much as you want to eat. There will be no heartburn. That costs nothing, except two spoons of salt every morning. Warm water, a little salt inside, drink the water, vomit it, that’s all. The headache will disappear. Maybe if you have a migraine headache, that will disappear. Your eyesight will improve, your nose will improve. Your breathing process will improve, your lungs will be improving, you will have more capacity to take in oxygen. Second technique: cleaning of the nose. The nose is like a filter. The nose is like a filter before air... Enters into the lungs, it is filtering, and we need to clean the nose, especially nowadays, with a lot of pollution, a lot of smoke from the cars. When the cook is in love, there must be salt in the water. There is a special pot designed for this practice. For the cleaning of the nose. That pot has one pipe here, specially designed. You fix this pipe with the nostrils, and you bend your head; water will go automatically up into the nostril and will come out through the left nostril. Half a litre of water, let it flow through one nostril, and half a litre of water through the other nostril. Half a litre of water, let it flow through one nostril, and half a litre of water, let it flow through another nostril. When you have sinus problems, allergy problems, or get colds very easily, all will be finished. It takes two or three minutes. The whole day you will feel so light, so relaxed. Your eyesight will improve. Your ears will improve. Your lungs will feel very fresh. You will find it easy to breathe always. Third technique, which you should do once a month only, or twice a month, or once in two months, or once in three months, at the end of the changing of every season. Every three months, our biological system in the body also changes. That is a practice of a few hours. On Saturday is the best. That Sunday, you can relax. There, you drink about 15 liters of water. Then you will drink up to 15 liters of water, only, in some cases 25 liters. How? You will manage it. You drink one glass of salty, warm water again; salt helps to purify. You drink one glass of water, and there are five exercises. Our intense time is 8.5 meters long. Here. 8.5 meters long. Whatever we eat has to go through eight and a half meters; it’s a long way. So this water has to go through intense times. It’s like cones you find on the seaside. Spiralna. The name of this technique is called Śaṅkha Prakṣālana or Basti. After five exercises, you again drink water. After five exercises, drink water again. Do these five exercises again, drink water again, exercise again, drink water again. Drink six to eight glasses of water, then you go to the toilet, and everything will come out. Still again you come back, drink water, exercise, drink water, toilet, exercise, drink water, exercise, drink water,... exercise. Naturally, you are exhausted a little bit, you relax, and then there is a special rice and moong dāl cooked with a little butter ghee inside. This technique should be done and learned first with the master, the teacher. You will not believe what all comes out from your stomach. Many diseases will burst out, many things. These three techniques are for purification with the water, and then with the air, prāṇāyāma. When you practice cleaning of the nose with water, then you should practice one special technique of breathing; prāṇāyāma is called kapālabhāti. Kapālbhāti, Kapālbhāti is something like when you blow your nose, so concentrate more on the exhalation, like this. If some water remains in the nose, inside words and sinuses will come out. The fifth technique is called Trāṭak. For developing concentration, it is a kind of meditation, gazing on the flame of a candle. Half a minute, one minute, then you close the eyes. It develops concentration, memory, and especially it’s very good for those children who are still making bad weight; from the first day they will stop. It works. It works very well. And the last, the sixth technique, is called Nauli. Nauli is such a powerful exercise. Very powerful. Yogī said, "99% sure, those who practice Nauli will never get exhausted." Yogīs say that 99% of those who regularly practice Nauli will not get sick from cancer, will not get diabetes, and if they have it, it will be cured, and your blood pressure problem will be solved. It is one of the best techniques. I don’t dare to ask someone to demonstrate. But I think we can do it. It’s really very good; you should see. You know, I have always had a very good translator. If it is necessary, he can also demonstrate, so I would ask Dayan if he can demonstrate for us, please. Please, if you can do it, thank you. You can explain and do it, okay? So listen to him, look to him. For a while, please take out your shirt; it’s anyhow very hot. So you talk and explain, yes? I will do a technique that is called Nauli in yoga, where we massage the abdominal muscles with the abdominal muscles. That was a demonstration. Thank you, Dayān. Thank you, Dayan. So I should also begin to get a belly, a stomach like him. I should also begin to get a belly, a stomach like him. So there will be no problem of overweight. So anybody who is thinking that his stomach is a little more kilos... This Nauli Kriya will help you to have a good body figure, but it is not easy to get control over the stomach muscles. It needs practice, and it takes a few weeks to learn. You see, it takes only a few minutes. So once you rotate from right to left three times, then from left to right three times, then from down to up, and from up to down, your pancreas will function perfectly. You will have a great appetite for breakfast, and it will help your health very much. So this is one aspect of yoga which we can utilize in our life. We can use it in our lives. Now, it doesn’t matter if I believe as a Muslim, a Christian, a Buddhist, a Hindu, or a Jew; religion doesn’t play any role in it. Second part of yoga. The second part of yoga is called āsanas, physical movements. These are the postures scientifically designed for each muscle, for each joint, for the nerves, for the inner organs, and for the gland systems, the yoga postures. Are psychosomatic movements. In yoga, there is no challenge, there is no competition. It should be practiced gradually and step by step, systematically. Part 2: The System and Science of Yoga in Daily Life When I came to Europe thirty years ago, there were many yoga teachers and practices. But it was mixed; there was no system. All over India, many yoga schools are teaching, but they have no system. Beginners and advanced students are all together. So we created one system. That is why we have created a system, and that is what you call here "Yoga in Daily Life," and that is very step-by-step. There are many, many postures. For example, you will get now this yoga book. It has more than 800 postures. There are more than 800 pages of the book. The book has more than 400 pages. But it is like a curriculum in school. It should be practiced slowly and gradually. The third step of this is called breathing exercise, prāṇāyāma. Breath is life, and life is breath. What did we do first when we came into this world? We inhaled. And what will we do last when we go from this world? Exhale. And we will not be able to inhale again, so it is one long breath from birth till death. In between, only the waves—inhalation and exhalation—are like waves on the sea. Breath has a great effect on our health, on our systems, on our psyche, and on our thinking process. Therefore, the yogic breath, which is very important, has three levels. It’s chest breathing, the medium lungs breathing, and the stomach breathing. Those creatures who breathe too quickly have a short life. They are nervous, like a rabbit. They breathe too short. When someone is exhausted or nervous, anxious, then they breathe here with a short breath. Generally, people breathe here with only half a breath. But the yogī says, breathe into the stomach; first fill the stomach with air, then the chest. Exhale first from the chest, then from the stomach. All professional singers practice this yogic breathing. If someone has nervous problems, nervousness, and stress, you should tell them to breathe deeply in and out. Tell that person to take a deep breath in and out. Immediately, you will be relaxed. Why are we breathing in and out? In the physical world, we say that we breathe in oxygen and we exhale the toxins. In the spiritual world, we are breathing the cosmic energy, which supplies the substances to keep on burning the flame of life. Who feeds us with the substances that maintain the flame of life? The Cosmic Mother is nourishing her child. We are constantly united or connected with the Cosmic Mother through our breath. So, how to breathe in and out, it’s a science. As you slow your breath, you will be more relaxed. Yogīs say that everyone, when one is born, has his or her destiny written: how many times one will breathe in and out, and then one will die. How many hours will your battery survive before it is finished? Forty hours? If you use it constantly, is that only forty hours? And if you use only one hour per day, you can use it for forty days. You can prolong your life through the breath technique; it means to keep the body healthy. The next aspect of yoga is to be relaxed and concentrated. We know that we, humans, have obligations in this world. We are dealing with many instruments, mechanisms, and wires. We should be concentrated. Therefore, the yogic concentration techniques create tranquility in the human brain. They remove stress, develop concentration and memory, and finally, lead to meditation. Meditation means self-inquiry: who am I, who am I, and how am I? What things exist in me which disrupt other people? How to purify those things? How to dissolve those problems? And what disturbs me about other people? How to protect myself from those disturbances? What relation do I have to God? And what is my life and the aim of my being here? That can be developed through meditation. All of this can be achieved through meditation. The meditation was practiced more by the spiritual people, what you call the swāmīs, sādhus, monks. The meditation was mostly used by the spiritual people, sādhus, monks, sannyāsīs. Because it is very good, and therefore, why should we not practice it also? Meditation gives you a deep feeling of satisfaction and happiness. The joy, happiness, and satisfaction are lying within our heart, within our self. It’s only you who can make yourself happy. And it’s only you who can make yourself unhappy. And you are the only one who can make yourself unhappy. Then why don’t you do it? If I ask you a question, are you happy? You need not answer loudly to me. But ask yourself, are you happy? If yes, congratulations. If not, then why? Where is the problem? What relation do you have with that problem? Is it a personal problem or an impersonal problem? How much can you do to solve the problem? What can you do to solve this problem? Not to overcome it, but to solve it. Overcoming means you try to forget it. And what you forget, one day you will remember again. But what you have forgotten, one day you will remember it again. The problem is not solved. The problem can only be solved when you utilize your wisdom, your understanding, and giving gives freedom. You have a snake in your hand. The snake is not free, but you are also not free. If you drop him carefully away, he is free, but you are also free. So try to learn to give freedom, understand, and then liberate. The deep, hidden problems in our subconsciousness or unconsciousness can only be solved through meditation. So it is said, do you want meditation or the medication? You should decide yourself. Now, how can yoga help us? That’s called yoga in daily life. Now, we come to the other, deeper point: the consciousness, the intellect, and the mind. The consciousness is the consciousness. Consciousness is consciousness, but in our consciousness there are different layers. The consciousness begins from the stone; the stone also has consciousness, which you also have, but it is different. What is lying in the stone, and what is lying in you? What is lying in you, and what is lying in the stone? Consciousness is developing from stones, coals, metals, sea plants, vegetation, fish, birds, animals, humans. We divide consciousness into five levels. Everything is a play of consciousness. Your suffering is only because of the differences in the consciousness. Unconsciousness is something like deep sleep. Dormant, dark ignorance, we don’t know anything about that. Like here, under this floor, there is a basement, and we don’t know what is inside. So you have an unconscious level, and in that unconscious level, at the unconscious level, are all dormant karmas or destiny from your past lives. But we are carrying our destiny like our backpack. You can’t get rid of that; it follows us like the shadow of our body follows us. That is the reality of your unconsciousness. Destiny is not given by anybody, but created by itself, individually. You are responsible for what happened until today in your life and what will happen in the future. All comes back. That’s why it is said, be good. Why be good? Because if you are bad, you will get bad back. What is this, to get back bad? That’s a karma philosophy. Be kind, be humble, be merciful. Be kind, be humble, be merciful. What does it mean to be? To act, to do, to behave. And that’s the science of karma. The subconsciousness is the second level of our consciousness. The subconsciousness level border is when we first time enter into the embryo life. We enter into the phase of consciousness when we enter into the embryo for the first time, into the life of the embryo. Whatever happened to the mother and the father, in which circumstances they are, in which circumstances the mother lives—happy or unhappy, lonely or alone, afraid, disappointed, ill, in pain—all influences the embryo. Therefore, it is the duty of the husband, especially to show his sympathy and love to his wife when she is pregnant. Be with her, support her, help her, give her happiness. That is the time when you can show your real love, if you really love your wife. Love means not physical sexuality, love means the warmth and understanding from the heart. From the beginning of our life in the embryo, till today, whatever is happening is stored in our subconsciousness. The third level of consciousness is our present consciousness, awakened, fully awakened. You are alert, you can see, you can hear, you can smell, you can taste... You can do everything. You receive everything. So whatever you receive is recorded into the subconscious. And the fourth level of consciousness is higher consciousness. And the fifth level of consciousness is Cosmic Consciousness. That you will achieve only after this life. This individual consciousness will merge into the Cosmic Consciousness. The drop of water which will fall back into the ocean, the drop of water which will fall back into the ocean, the drop of water which will fall back into the ocean, the drop of water which will fall back into the ocean, the drop of water which will fall back into the ocean, the drop of water which will fall into the ocean back, the drop of the water which will fall into the ocean back, the drop of the water which will fall into the ocean back, the drop of the water which will fall into the ocean back, the drop of the water which will fall into the ocean back, the drop of the water which will fall into the ocean back, the drop of the water which will fall into the ocean back, the drop of the water which will fall into the ocean back, the drop of the water which will fall into the ocean back, the drop of the water which will fall into the ocean back, the drop of the water which will fall into the ocean back. A drop of water which will fall back into the ocean. Today, if not tomorrow, sooner or later, we will achieve. Don’t give up, work. Our body is made out of five elements, which I told you already, and the body has got ten senses, five senses of action. There are five instruments of action and five senses of receiving the knowledge from the outside world: Jñāna Indriya and Karma Indriya. Jñāna Indriya means through which we receive the information from the world. There are only five, no sixth one. To receive information from the world through sound, resonance, and vibration via the ears. Second, to receive the information from this world—all the colors and objects—through our eyes. Third, to receive all the information from this world in the form of smell. If there is a smell of the lemon, immediately you will say it’s a lemon. You don’t see the lemon, but you know, if you close your eyes or open your eyes, you will see the lemon. When you think of your father, you see your father’s face. When you think of your mother, you see your mother’s face and feel your mother’s love, and when you think of your enemy, you get angry. The fourth sense is through the taste: sweet, sour, and so on. And the fifth one is touch, the skin. These are the five senses through which we receive the information from the external world. This is known as impressions. And the conscious mind, the consciousness, receiving this information through the media of the senses, is transferred into the subconsciousness. And in the subconscious, everything is worked out. The impression becomes vāsanā, the desires. You see the apple; it goes to the subconscious, and you get desires back to eat the apple. So there is a mechanism that gets the information into the subconsciousness and takes out the desires, and for that information which is converted into desire, from the subconsciousness to the conscious. That mechanism, that function is known as the mind. Mind cannot be controlled, and don’t try to control the mind. A river cannot be blocked, but a river can be directed. So mind cannot be stopped, but mind can be directed. If you are restless and your mind is very restless, then try to limit your needs. Try to limit your desires, not the mind. Mind does its right duty. If the mind will not function, then you will be known as a psychically ill person. You will have emotional and psychic problems. Subconsciousness is overloaded, and the mind cannot master this all. Therefore, control your senses: see the good things, hear the good things, feel and touch the good things, smell the good things. Feel and touch what is good, and limit your needs and desires. Mind is never responsible. Mind has no time to be responsible. The principle of the mind is the Moon, and the Moon never rises equally. Every day is changing, so minds are always changing. Once it brings mango up, once it brings ice cream up, once it brings apple up, because there is something existing inside you, the mind brings desires to the conscious mind. And there is a seat of the intellect, and the intellect is that which gives the judgment. You know what kind of desire it is; it gives you a concrete picture of it. People who cannot balance their mind and intellect, who cannot coordinate emotions and intellect, heart and brain, they have a disharmony between intellect and mind. There, you need a practice of meditation. And through meditation, we come to the higher consciousness. Higher consciousness means pure consciousness. Spirituality means purity. Where there is impurity, there is no spirituality. Purity in the thoughts, purity in speaking, in behavior, in body, physical purity, and pure consciousness. Through the positive work, when one thinks negatively, one is poisoning oneself. This is the consciousness, and finally I will tell my last subject, which I want to tell you. It is very short, because I spoke for a long time and you are very tired. I have been talking for a long time, you are tired. In the end, I will tell you the ultimate idea, and that is the story of cakras. What are cakras? Cakras are the energy centers in the body. You can activate them, they will give you the energy. They are like a dynamo. In the body, there are many, many thousands of cakras, and from these thousands of cakras, they are divided again into different levels. Cakras belong to the earth element; they are the food cakras. Cakras belong to the vegetation, between the ankle joint and the knee. These are the lower cakras, then cakras belonging to the earth element. They are the food cakras; they are the food cakras. Developed animals, which are after the vegetation, are from the knees to the hip joints, and then cakras are divided from the hip joint, from the bottom of the spinal column to the top of the spinal column. These are the human cakras, and from the end of the spinal column to the top of the head are the divine cakras, God’s cakras. The border of the human consciousness and animal consciousness begins from the bottom of the spinal column. So, the human qualities begin to develop from those cakras: Mūlādhāra Cakra, Svādhiṣṭhāna, Maṇipūra, Anāhata, Viśuddhi, Ājñā, Bindu, Sahasrāra. These are the eight cakras. These eight cakras, from Mūlādhāra to Sahasrāra—in your book, "Yoga in Daily Life," which you will get, there are chapters about cakras too. Sometimes cakras are not functioning; they are blocked. Sometimes the cakras don’t function; they are blocked. That can cause illness. Sometimes the cakras are turning in the opposite direction; that consumes energy, it doesn’t produce energy. You make a blood analysis, everything is okay, but still you feel very bad. You are very weak, very tired. Why? Because some energy centers are turning in the wrong direction. How should we know which cakra is turning wrong? And if so, how to turn it back on the right way? That’s a secret technique I’m not going to tell you today; this one I must keep reserved, okay? So, in the next seminar, I will give more techniques about cakras. When will the next seminar be? That you have to ask the organizers. Cakras are the cosmic centers. The cakras are traveling with your individual soul. We are all existing in this universe as an individual phenomenon. One is a cosmic phenomenon, and that is the entire universe. Then there is the individual phenomenon, and that is each individual creature and everything. Your luck, bad luck, good luck, happiness, unhappiness—all is in your own phenomenon, like a big balloon. What is existing in the universe is existing within you. You have your own universe within you. Astral traveling: travel first within yourself. To find out what is within you, and then outside. Yoga is a science of body, mind, consciousness, and soul. Yoga is a way of life. It is a science, the art of how to live life. It is a way to oneself. It is a way to God. The path to God, the path to good health, the path to happiness: when the person is healthy and happy, then the society will be healthy and happy, and when the society is healthy and happy, then the whole country will be healthy and happy. And when the whole country is healthy and happy, then the whole world will be happy. In this way, every yoga practitioner contributes to world peace and health in the world. Dear brothers and sisters, choose what you like, and take it with you. Take with you what I told today, and from what I said last night, what you didn’t like, don’t take with you as a burden, give it back to me. I wish you all the best, good health and long life, divine protection. May God bless you with happiness, joy, and bliss. Begin to practice yoga in daily life. Begin to practice yoga in daily life. Just now.
