Lord Krishna's Incarnation Day part four

The celebration of Śrī Kṛṣṇa's divine birth is observed through devotion, discourse, and performance. When ignorance spreads, songs of his childhood pastimes are sung. His birth and actions are entirely divine, a complete incarnation to protect dharma and devotees. He is the teacher of the Gītā, encompassing all paths of knowledge, devotion, and yoga. His life is a symbol of completeness, from his playful youth to his role as a universal protector. The event includes devotional singing, dramatic performances of his pastimes, and the distribution of sanctified food. The chanting of the holy name is emphasized as the supreme means for spiritual attainment in this age.

"Whenever there is a decline in dharma and a rise in adharma, at that time I manifest myself."

"The Hare Kṛṣṇa Mahāmantra is the name of Bhagavān, so powerful that when this name is chanted, even the greatest obstacles are overcome."

Part 1: A Janmāṣṭamī Celebration: Devotion, Dance, and Discourse After the prayer to the auspicious eyes of Bhagavān, during the small programs at the school, whenever the darkness of ignorance has spread over the earth, bhajans and songs on the childhood pastimes have been sung. On that, a dance will be performed. The mischievous children, born with bonds of many lifetimes, come into this world. Is there any fault in this? Do not give it; the flute of Śyāma is played beautifully by dancing girls. The boys and girls of the school presented a beautiful dance on the childhood pastimes of Śrī Kṛṣṇa Bhagavān. The love between Śrī Kṛṣṇa and Rādhā, Śrī Kṛṣṇa and the gopīs, was so pure and unwavering that even if the crow ate all the grains, or the sparrow ate the flesh, only the two eyes did not consume the hope of union with the beloved, along with the gopīs. The dance performance was presented by the girls. I will call upon Nirmala Sāṅkhalā to speak on this topic. After this, be ready for the recitation of the Gītā verses by the students of the fifth class. Nirmala Sāṅkhalā will speak. Beloved ones, on this auspicious occasion of Kṛṣṇa Janmāṣṭamī, I extend my greetings to the venerable Gurudeśī, Mahīśvānana Jī, Premānana Jī, Pradānācārya Jī, Pradān Adhyāpikā Jī, all the teachers and instructors present in the school, and to the divine children born in my prison. From the forest to the ages, the bearer of the message of love will be blessed; that Aṣṭamī Rohiṇī Nakṣatra and the dark fortnight night with the moonlight, in which Bhagavān Viṣṇu’s complete incarnation, the one who holds the Sudarśana cakra, the gadā, and the lotus, the four-armed form of the Mother. Like an avatāra, in the brilliance of Kṛṣṇa, the entire prison was illuminated with light. On the path of jñāna, becoming a jñānī, He imparted the essence of the Gītā; on the path of bhakti, such a river of love flowed that even Śiva and Kāmadeva merged into the great rasa of Brahmī. On the path of yoga, He was called Yogeśvara Śrī Kṛṣṇa. Not only was Kṛṣṇa’s birth divine, but his actions were also divine. The miraculous teacher of the profound scripture of knowledge, devotion, discipline, and action—the Gītā—his childhood, the great battlefield strategies of the Mahābhārata, and his various forms are astonishing and wondrous. From every perspective, Kṛṣṇa is complete, like a woman, a living being, and... Like a profound hunter of evil, the deep Lakṣiyā sādhaka conveys the message of infinite divine play, which today, in the form of Mahāvatār, satisfies the seekers of yoga through yoga. Even countless scholars of Sarasvatī are unable to fully describe this, because on the paternal side, he is the peacock-feathered one, the beloved of Yaśodā, the friend of Sudāmā, the lover of the gopīs, the protector of the Yādavas, and Arjuna’s... Kā Sakā, Rukmanī’s Paramēśvara, Rādhā’s beloved, worshipped by the Dūradara and Rāja Nirbhāga sects, is the very embodiment of Jaganār Jī, the center of faith for millions. Elsewhere, He alone resides as Srīnār Jī. Taken together, His life is a symbol of completeness, Hariyo. The tyranny of Kaṁsa had increased on the earth, and to end that tyranny, Kṛṣṇa incarnated as his nephew. The Vidyālay family warmly congratulates and heartily welcomes all the visitors who have come for this program. As per Bāvjī Mahārāj’s command, when he gives the order... Then, Padānācā Jī will welcome them by garlanding them. In the next segment of the program, we are bringing the Madhurāṣṭakam. The fifth-year students of Vidyārthī Karmaṇīya Vādhi Kāraste Maphale Suk Kadāchana are presenting it in the form of Madhurāṣṭakam. Śrī Kṛṣṇa has given this teaching to all of us in the Gītā. The boys and girls of the school presented Madhurāṣṭakam in the mother tongue, Sanskrit. Among us, there is a beautiful representation of the International Kṛṣṇa Bhāvanāmṛta Saṅgha, which you all can see near the stage. Here is a brief introduction to the International Kṛṣṇa Bhāvanāmṛta Saṅgha. I am going to call on stage the members of this saṅgh, Śrī Bajraṅgī Dās from Hastināpur and Śrī Braj Aṅgī Dās. Let us all give them a big round of applause. Hare Kṛṣṇa. Many thanks to all the boys and girls. On the occasion of Kṛṣṇa Janmāṣṭamī, Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa Balarām. How beautiful, the ratha has come inside Mahāśadan Jī’s āśrama. I would like to give you a brief introduction to this padayātrā. The ratha you are seeing is a bullock cart; there are two bullock carts with us. One is Bhagavān’s ratha, and the other has five bulls pulling it. So this devotion is very divine and great; this pilgrimage started in 1984 from Dwārī’s Pūrī Dhām. And for the past 27 years, the padyātrā has been traveling all over India, and on this padyātrā, the vigraha of Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa is present. And on this path, what was the name of Kṛṣṇa’s brother? Dāvajī. Dāvajī’s brother, Kṛṣṇa Kanhaiyā. Dāvajī’s brother, Kṛṣṇa Kanhaiyā. Along with them is Dāvajī, Balarām, who is the elder brother. Brothers, this is a beautiful chariot, and ahead sits Bhakti Vidān Svāmījī. You see his vigraha; he is the founder-ācārya of the Bhakti Vidān Prabhupāda institution. The padayātrā is ongoing, and this chariot goes from village to village. In the evening, they hold programs of kīrtana and bhajana, and after that... Then people distribute prasāda and give lectures on the Bhagavad Gītā. This padayātrā started five months ago; some are from Bombay, some from Surat, I am from Delhi Hastināpura, and there are also people from abroad, foreign friends. There are 25 people in this padayātrā, and its purpose is... The purpose behind this is that Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s padayātrā travels throughout India, spreading the chanting of the Hari nāma and awakening devotional bhakti for Bhagavān within people. This is the introduction to the padayātrā, and it will continue moving forward. Therefore, you all... There, Gurujī said, the Svāmījī here told us that it would be good to conduct this program here, as it is the will of Bhagavān. So, seeing your cooperation and enthusiasm, we thought it best to stay here. That is why it is very beautiful that Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa is here. Why do we come into this world? Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa says that there are two reasons for My coming: yadā yadā hi dharmasya glānir bhavati bhārata abhyutthānam adharmasya tadātmānaṁ sṛjāmy aham paritrāṇāya. What happens is that there is a decline in dharma and a rise in adharma. As long as it is necessary, I take avatāra and for the protection or sādhunāma—those sādhus who are devotees of Bhagavān—what do I do? I protect them, and the wicked ones, who are evil individuals, I... Therefore, it is very essential, and even today there are people who follow the path of vision; that is why Svāmījī exists, and through this medium of the poetic verses... How much are you spreading the message? So, if Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa comes, many thanks. And anyway, on this day, the avatāra of Bhagavān took place. We will take the name of Bhagavān. Look, everyone stand up with both hands like this, all of you who are present, stand up for Bhagavān. Stand firmly and with love and devotion. Let everyone say together, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare. Today we have the great fortune that the beautiful spiritual guest, Brajaṅgī Dās Jī, a member of ISKCON, is with us in our āśrama. All of us āśrama residents warmly welcome and heartily greet all the members of ISKCON. On behalf of all of you, please give a hearty round of applause to warmly welcome them. In the next segment of the program, a play on the divine pastimes will be performed, which includes the bhajana "Are Dvār Pālo Kanahiyā Se Kah Do," featuring the vocals of the bhajana singer Śrīmān Asuk Jī Chohan. The acting will be done by the boys and girls of Kuldeep and Class Four. A unique example of friendship, Kṛṣṇa and Sudāmā, is being presented on this subject. You are going to meet your friend, and outside the palace, the gatekeeper, Kṛṣṇa Bhagavān’s guardian, his servant, seeing their poor condition outside, stops them. You all will witness this weight and this drama being staged, and along with encouragement for our little child artists, all the speakers present will offer their blessings. Once in Aśkṣāt, there was a loud chant of Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s name: "Kṛṣṇa Kanhiyā Lāl! Hey, gatekeepers, tell Kanhiyā that Sudāmā, the poor one, has come to the door..." Oh, guard the door and tell Kanhaiyā that Sudāmā, the poor one, has arrived at the door. Wandering and wandering, not knowing from where, wandering and wandering, now, my dear Sudāmā, a moment of happiness has come near you. Everyone should clap loudly in your direction, and do not be afraid, my dear Sudāmā. Do not be afraid, dear Sudāma, the moment of happiness has come near you. Hail to the divine Kṛṣṇa Candra Bhagavān! Friendship is friendship, but in today’s context, the meaning of friendship has somewhat changed. Friends deceive friends; on the day I lose my mind over friends, on the day I lose my mind over friends, I will become a tomb of humanity in the name of friendship. Observing friendship, we all today take a vow that we will... You all will maintain brotherhood and friendship among yourselves. If, for any reason, there has been any bitterness between us, then on this beautiful occasion of Kṛṣṇa Janmāṣṭamī, we want to remove that bitterness. Let us all together give a big round of applause. In the next segment of the program, there will be a bhajana, Sāvara. Come, all of you, like the motherly love of a little girl in the fourth grade, nurturing Kṛṣṇa with affection. To attend our program, come as Savara Aavo, embodying the form of a Mīrā. A very beautiful program has been presented before you by the young child artists, and under the orders of Pradhānācārya Jī Mahude, a few musical performances have been arranged. The assembled saints extend their greetings to all of you in the temple premises, the āśrama premises, and on behalf of all the boys and girls of the vidyālaya. A very heartfelt welcome to all of you. In your service, at your feet, I am offering one or two bhajanas. Please accept them. And if I may say in our native awakening language, like Mīrā Bāī, among countless devotees, even if God tests their devotion, they continue to sing with love and faith, just as Rānav Jī does. Mīrā Bāī developed a deep devotion and, leaving behind all royal pomp and pride, adorned herself with a simple garland. Many obstacles came her way, yet Mīrā Bāī never abandoned her devotion. She prayed to Bhagavān Kṛṣṇa, saying, "Please listen to my prayers; keep me steadfast and do not lessen your grace." Thus, she offered many heartfelt prayers. Let us all give a big round of applause to the international artist Asoi Chohan. I welcome the members of ISKCON on stage for a beautiful kīrtana. Please give a warm round of applause to the members of ISKCON for this beautiful kīrtana. Once again, let us applaud the devotee of Kṛṣṇa, Mīrā. Hari Om Hare Hare... Kṛṣṇa Oh Kṛṣṇa Hare Kṛṣṇa Hare... Kṛṣṇa Hare Kṛṣṇa Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Hare Hare, Hare Rāma Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma Hare Hare. You all will remember, everyone can chant from behind once. Everyone please pray, stand up, all together: Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare. Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare—this is the Hare Kṛṣṇa Mahāmantra. Hare means Rādhā, Hare Kṛṣṇa means Hare Kṛṣṇa, referring to Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa, the all-attracting Bhagavān. And the word Rāma here means the one who gives us bliss and happiness. The Hare Kṛṣṇa Mahāmantra is the name of Bhagavān, so powerful that when this name is chanted, even the greatest obstacles are overcome. What was written? Rāma. The name of Bhagavān, Rāma, is so powerful that even the biggest barriers dissolve. So why wouldn’t a human be liberated? A human can also transcend. So... Therefore, I request all of you, first we will sing, and then you can sing "Rāmo Rāmo Hare Hare" from behind. It is very simple for everyone. First, our devotees will sing, and when they stop, then you can sing and also clap. In the end, you all will dance. Today, everyone will dance in celebration of Bhagavān’s birth, chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare, Hare Rāmo, Hare Rāmo, Rāmo Rāmo, Hare Hare. Everyone, please chant Hare Rāma Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa... Hare Hare... Rāma hāre Rāma hāre. Sit down, Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān said, "Sit well there, children will come, what will they do? There is no question of Rāsa Līlā here. You all sit here, just sit here, it is very good. It is a terrible Kali Yuga, the only means to cross the ocean of Kali Yuga is where the kīrtana of Bhagavān’s name takes place. There, Bhagavān Himself comes and listens." Nārada said to Bhagavān, "O Lord, whenever I come here to Vaikuṇṭha, You are seated in the ocean of nectar, yogīs meditate in the heart, and the yogīs say that You reside in their hearts. Devotees perform pūjā, pāṭha, and kīrtana, and then Bhagavān says that... I am neither Vasāmi Veṅkuṇḍe, nor the yogī Ne Hirade; I reside where there is love, feeling, and devotion—where those who remember my name and sing kīrtana dwell. In the Satya Yuga, Tretā Yuga, and Dvāpara Yuga, among humanity, there was great knowledge, austerity, and renunciation, but in the Kali Yuga... If there is neither jñāna nor tapa nor tyāga, then the power of humans diminishes day by day in the Kali Yuga. For attaining inner peace and proper utilization, the easiest means is Bhakti Yoga. There are indeed several types of yoga, but the great ṛṣis and munis have described four main types. Similarly, Bhagavān Kṛṣṇa, through His mouth, revealed eighteen types of yoga. Because our religious scriptures, for which our... The peaceful, great souls and the Hindu community are requesting the Government of India to recognize the Gītā as our national scripture. This demand is gaining momentum, but it will happen only when Bhagavān Kṛṣṇa bestows His supreme grace, because within Hindustān, the knowledge... There is no lack of avatāras in Hindustān; there is no shortage of great divine manifestations in Hindustān. Countless are the sandalwoods of my country’s soil and land of tapas. Every village, every child is an idol of the Devī, and every child is Rāma. Such is the treasure of knowledge where jñāna and vijñāna abound. Wherever the origin of yoga practices, tantra, mantra, yantra, scriptures, and language—which for us humans is language—has taken place, all these cultures have emerged from India. But we Indians, leaving our own culture, are running towards the other side. Our ṛṣis and munis have written so many scriptures, there are indeed so many scriptures. If we study it for ten lifetimes, it will still be ancient. We have brought so many books written by great ṛṣis, munis, and scientists from within India and have read them thoroughly. But nowadays, people with limited thinking ask, "Which book belongs to your religion? Just tell us that much." So, the Sikh scripture is also Hindu in origin, but they placed Guru Granth Sāhib ahead, declaring it as their religious book. The Muslims wrote the Qur’ān, stating that their religious book is the Qur’ān, and nothing else is written beyond it. They said that after this, there is no Guru. He went there and closed the chapter, closed the chapter, and from this, they also wrote the Bible, saying that this is our first and last, the first and last. No matter how many enlightened beings come after this, we will not include them in it. The Jews also have their scripture, called the Torah. From one scripture, you can produce ten thousand Bibles, you can write that much treasure, such an immense treasure is written, because the water in a tank eventually diminishes, but the source directly connected to the Gaṅgā never diminishes. Still, they want to know which scripture you have touched, to believe in Kṛṣṇa. The Rāmāyaṇa explains it, the Gītā explains it, and those who believe in Bhagavān Rāma and Sītā Rāma, they refer to the Rāmāyaṇa. As for the paṇḍitas, they do not really know what has been said because they are considered scholars of the Vedas, yet still, our paṇḍitas, who are dharmātmās and mahātmās, they say our Veda... The conflict is among ourselves, about which scripture to uphold. When the ocean was churned, and the churning of the ocean—its purpose, the meaning of kāmadhenu—is that whatever desires or thoughts we have, they are always fulfilled; it always gives milk, and whatever you ask for, it grants. Always fresh, good milk. So today, in this Kali Yuga, the Bhagavad Gītā is such a kāmadhenu. If one always reads the same śloka, yet continues to receive new knowledge, then the Bhagavad Gītā should be declared the national scripture. And today, on this Janmāṣṭamī, we pray to Bhagavān Kṛṣṇa with devotion that such grace be granted—that the Bhagavad Gītā be declared the national scripture. The Rāmāyaṇa is also such a source of knowledge, a man has truly attained something great. If you are going to the fair, villagers, some may know, some may not. If another person sits, will it be cut off? I am about to go, should I bring something? The house is still there. Do one thing: take a mirror and look back to see if there is a mirror in my courtyard. Before that, there was a shop where you could find it, either in the fifth or in the pocket. He listened, observed, and then saw within himself; then why create a conflict? Why hold on to fragments within? Why does it remain, why does it remain... Eating beads does not make one a bead-eater; reading books does not make one a reader. What is the use of eating beads? Eating beads only kills; it does not grant immortality. What is the difference between the two beads? Those beads are eaten and perish, but those beads kill and grant immortality. If only today they would come and see my head. If only today they would come and see my head. It was just 6 o’clock when those lamps arrived. What lamps arrived? Those lamps, what else? Come, dear ones. Of Sītalā Mātā. Sītala Mātā, may she bring coolness, comfort, and bliss. Sit down, sit down, dear ones. What else, brother? Bring the kash, yes, good. Oh, no one else has your kind of zeal. Part 2: The Essence of the Gītā and the Glory of the Guru In life, I have one desire: whenever I meet someone, I wish to see whether they possess this quality or not. It is not about being trapped in a cage; it is about realizing that the devotees of Bhagavān Kṛṣṇa always keep the Gītā in their hearts. If someone comes, they do not merely offer prasād; they share the essence of the Gītā with them. Thus, the revered Bhagavān Rāma of the Rāmāyaṇa, who is the Maryādā Puruṣottama Bhagavān Rāma, performed divine pastimes just as Kṛṣṇa did, and said, "O mind, O human, you can witness the entire scene of your life." That is the true essence. So, my brothers, there is no lack of knowledge in Hindustān, but effort must continue. It is said that the Bhagavad Gītā should be recognized as a national scripture, so my heartfelt salutations to all of you. Today, on this auspicious and sacred day of Janmāṣṭamī, Lord Kṛṣṇa took His divine incarnation. Many past lilās occurred even before His incarnation, and they continue to happen even now. So, if one or two children wish to show something, then look at their glimpses. In those glimpses, if any pot is broken, then proceed ahead with victory. Start the dīrghāyu of Bhagavān Kṛṣṇa. May I speak a little in English? Vishwaguru Mahārāj has Kṛṣṇa... At the time of birth, we have all been blessed with the assurance that there is none greater than the Guru in the three worlds; neither can anyone do what the Guru does, nor can anyone else accomplish it. Whatever the Guru wills shall happen—whether a hundred suns rise or the moon ascends a thousand times, even if there is so much sandalwood, without the Guru it is all darkness. On this day, no matter how much we praise Vishwaguru Mahārāj, it is still insufficient, as if we were to cross seven oceans, cross seven oceans, and make all the pens in the world. O friends, even if the entire earth were turned into blank paper, still the virtues, still the virtues of the Guru could not be fully written; still the Guru could not be fully described, for first of all, I found the Guru, through whom I realized the Ātma Brahma. How can I, a humble servant, describe the glory of the Vishwaguru? How can I, a humble servant, describe the glory? Gurudeva is equal to Brahman, Gurudeva is... Our merits are as vast as Brahmā himself, for many auspicious fruits have descended upon us through Gurudeva. Our virtuous deeds are abundant because of the worship of the Guru; by merely beholding the Guru, all ailments of the mind are dispelled. The greatest enemy is ego, yet the Guru is the friend, the parent, the highest honor. The Guru’s position is the most exalted, for it is the Guru who removes the devotee’s suffering. You, Sadguru, sacrifice your very prāṇa for this purpose. How can I describe the glory of this? During the program, you all will chant the bhajan, and all of you students will assist in singing the bhajan. Joy to Nanda’s bliss, victory to Kanayā Lāl, victory to Yaśodā Lāl, victory to Davalāl Jī. Proclaim the victory of Gopāl, proclaim the victory of Gopāl’s voice, the voice of today’s bliss, the voice of Kṛṣṇa Kanayā. Sit forward, sit forward... Oh, the lamp of Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān, the Kṛṣṇa Kanayā Lāl, Nanda Gopāl, Yaśodā Maiyā, the eternal dharma, Śaṅkara Bhagavān, Śyāvar Rāma Chandra Bhagavān, do they not eat the bread? Vishwaguru Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Paramahaṁsa Svāmījī Meśānanta Purujī Mahārāj said, "Leave their ears alone, they will maintain a peaceful silence. That little one in red clothes, sons, take him outside. Son, get up, get up, go. But get up, carry on, just now, no one should say no. Tell them, speak well, but get up." Go, but eight, cut, say "life" in school, Dr. Śānti, can you be so kind and sit down? That’s all. Now the diseases are going away, so send this heat to them. Internationally, at least people in 218 countries are watching, so someone must be sitting with a finger in the nāḍī... Having reached the World Light Guru Kola Tower, just a little like this, just a little, as your foot appears in the final scene of the film, just once more, dear brothers and sisters, spiritual seekers, aspirants and practitioners of Ugandan life and spiritualities, the blessing is coming to you from Oṁ Viśvadīp Gurukul Maheśvarānanda. Āśrama Education and Research Center, Holy Bharat, Rajasthan, Pali, Jadan. It is not much to say that if there is one India, it is called Hindiyā, and the name of India is very, very... much. Let us all begin with "Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinaḥ," let us begin, let us all begin with "Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinaḥ." God incarnates for the entire earth planet, my dear brothers and sisters around the world, you see. This beautiful picture, the vision you see now, is of the day when Bhagavān Kṛṣṇa incarnated about 5000 years ago. The teachings of Bhagavān Kṛṣṇa are 5000 years old. The Bhagavad Gītā, Śrīmadbhāgavatam, and many others can be spoken about primarily. Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa... Kṛṣṇa Yoga is the power of effort. Yoga is the power of effort... Yoga śakti koś. Arjuna yuge yuge sambhāving Arjuna yuge yuge sambhāving every yuga āī kam aur sev māī bhaktāj aur khelier is arth from all the āsurāj what we call the satanic powers energies. My dear, āsurī śakti and daivīk śakti both are dormant. In the human body, āsurāja and rākṣasāja do not appear different; they look like humans. But when negative energy, jealousy, hatred, ego, pride, and greed awaken in them, and regarding this, the purpose, the purpose, the purpose... that question, necessity, necessity... You know a lot about Lord Kṛṣṇa. You can learn a great deal about the Bhagavad Gītā and Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, and much more for the children as well. And about the Rāmāyaṇa and related topics. You can go to Google on the computer and search for what Kṛṣṇa said, what Kṛṣṇa was, what Kṛṣṇa represented... Crisps picking, then dancing, then dancing... One incarnation for the Pāṇḍavas, then another for the Pāṇḍavas... for the supreme existence, for the supreme existence... give incarnation, O Lord, O Lord... Give up crying and lamenting, remember and meditate, and you will become free from the cycle of birth and death. Remember the beloved son of Kṛṣṇa’s daughter, and you will become free from the cycle of birth and death. Victory to Kṛṣṇa’s daughter’s son. Victory to Śaṅkara Bhagavān. Victory to Deveśvara Ma Devī. Victory to Mādhava Kṛṣṇa Bhagavān. Victory. Glory to Dīp Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān and Mother Gaṅgā. Glory to the eternal and true Dharma. Oṁ śānti śānti śānti. So you can see that if Kṛṣṇa is living for influence, then you can see that if Kṛṣṇa is living for influence, then you can see that if Kṛṣṇa is living for influence... If you observe, Kṛṣṇa is like the cradle of the influence of consciousness; this cradle is our heart, and within the heart, the ātman is the form of Kṛṣṇa. Thus, listen to the teachings of the Vishwaguru Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Paramahaṁsa Svāmījī Śrī Meśānanta Purujī Mahārāj. Vishwaguru Mahārāj has sent a message on the occasion of Kṛṣṇa Janmāṣṭamī to his foreign disciples. I would like to inform you that Vishwaguru Mahārāj has established more than 45,000 yoga practice centers across the entire world. You are waving the flag of yoga as the Vishwaguru throughout the world. Let us all give a big round of applause on your behalf. The young boys and girls of the school have beautifully presented Lord Kṛṣṇa and Jānakī. The entire atmosphere has become immersed in Kṛṣṇa. In the final segment of the program, the children of the school will perform the maṭakī phoṛ (pot-breaking) ceremony. A request to Maheś Jī: The students should be removed from the place where the maṭakī breaking ceremony is to be held, and all the students will sit during the maṭakī breaking program; no student will stand. The seating arrangement will be exactly as planned for the event. The students who are participating in the maṭakī breaking program are Dasarat, Jitendra, Nirmal, Mukesh, Mahendra, and Manor Singh; these six students will be in the first row. In the second row will be Naresh, Dinesh, Hemant, and in the third row, Sanjay Chohan, who is dressed as Kṛṣṇa. Students are informed that ISKCON International Kṛṣṇa Bhānamṛta Sangh has arranged for prasād today. Please take prasād before sitting down. While presenting the program of breaking the earthen pot, yes, Braj Aṅgī Dājī will speak about the Kṛṣṇa līlā. On the sacred ground of the āśrama, Kṛṣṇa Bhagavān is on the calves of the cows, and see how He maintains balance. See how skillfully they have reached the maṭakī, in the role of Bhagavān. Sanjay Chohan has organized a beautiful program. On the sacred land of the maṭakī-breaking āśrama, Bhagavān has left butter. By breaking the maṭakī, all the students will maintain peace. After this, Pradānācārya Jī Mahodaya will give his address, and at the end, ISKCON will distribute prasād to the students. Now, Bal Jaṅgī Dājī will maintain silence on the microphone. Hare Kṛṣṇa, so everyone please chant the name of Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa once. Everyone will take both hands up, all of you raise them and say: Hare Kṛṣṇa Hare Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa... Hare Hare... Rāma Hare Rāma Rāma... Hare Hare, you all are feeling bliss, how much bliss you are experiencing. When the complete Puruṣottama Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa manifested today, Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa had incarnated five thousand years ago. So where did Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa incarnate? Mathurā, Mathurā land—have you all been to Vṛndāvana? There will be some more dancing and such, but today is Bhagavān’s birthday. Today, Bhagavān’s birthday is being celebrated not only in this āśrama but in every country of the world. So today, let us see which organization it is that has temples all over the world—in India, in Bombay, in Hyderabad, in Delhi. They are in Hyderabad, they are in Tirupati, they are in every country of the world. Today, not only in India on this Janmāṣṭamī, but in every country of the world, there is no country where this is not so. When I went abroad in 1965, and all the foreigners there, the foreign people in Newark, going there... We were just performing kīrtana in front of you, spreading the devotion of Kṛṣṇa. Svāmījī had gone in 1965, and it took him twelve years to spread the message of Hare Kṛṣṇa throughout the world. Today, Hare Kṛṣṇa devotees have reached places like Nivārg, Russia, Hong Kong, Bangkok, and all across the world. Chanting the name and dancing with it, then this Bhagavān says, "Tyaktvā dehaṁ punar janma neti māmeti so Arjuna"—what does Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa say in the Gītā? He says that birth and actions are divine. How are Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s birth and actions? They are divine, transcendental. And Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa says that whoever contemplates my birth and actions... If one truly understands my birth and actions, then they renounce the fear of rebirth. Arjuna, O Arjuna, that person who, after abandoning this body, will not take birth again in this mortal world—see, when Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa was young, at the time of his birth itself... Together, Bhagavān was six months old, only six months old. Pūtanā was so enormous, and her eyes were like a well, yes, like a well—her eyes were that vast. Pūtanā—Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa—how many months old was He when He killed her? He was only six months old. Just as Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s... And all the children there, what did she do? She fed them milk from her breast and poisoned them all to death, because that Pūtanā was sent by Kaṁsa, and Kaṁsa had sent her thinking that Kṛṣṇa would kill her. So whoever came... When she lifted the divine child Kṛṣṇa, it was as if the Lord Himself... When she lifted little Kṛṣṇa, her own body was about to feed him milk. Immediately, the mother remembered that this child is not an ordinary being; this child is not ordinary. She knew the power of Bhagavān. A six-month-old child cannot even support his own body, but Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa is so great; it is not like that. When Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa was nurtured in the courtyard of Mother Yaśodā, He was not called Bhagavān then. Whether Śrī Kṛṣṇa was young or grown, or even in jail, He was called Bhagavān. The one who is wealthy, handsome, beloved, and powerful—who embodies these six divine qualities—is called Bhagavān. So, see, in this world, a person is considered wealthy if... He may be the wealthy one of this village, but he cannot merely make such a claim; he possesses all-encompassing wealth. Śrī Kṛṣṇa has complete wealth, the greatest form, and the greatest power. Śrī Kṛṣṇa was a small child, yet how did he manage to kill such a formidable demoness Pūtanā? The one who is Kāma Deva, who has enchanted the entire world with his arrows of desire, so Nārada Muni asks in this world of illusion, who is the most beautiful person? It is Kāma Deva. Children, please be a little quiet. Just now Gurujī said, see how peacefully you must listen. So, the girl who has even a little intelligence, certainly she... You can score very good marks, so please listen carefully, do not talk, I will take just ten minutes more of your time. So, we were saying that Kāma Deva, Kāma Deva took incarnation in the Vṛndāvana forest, and he is the most beautiful. Kāma Devjī thought, "How can he be more beautiful than me?" So what did Kāma Deva do to him? He immediately left. And at that time, what was Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa doing? He was performing the rāsa dance, wearing the peacock feather crown and dressed in yellow garments. When Kāma Deva came and suddenly saw Bhagavān’s royal blue form, he saw Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa in such a beautiful form... The Bhagavān was so beautiful that even Kāma Deva would become bewildered. There were sixteen thousand one hundred and eight. Look, in Bhagavān’s Vṛndāvana, the gopīs were separate, but in Dvārakā, the queens numbered sixteen thousand one hundred and eight. So tell me, if there is any beautiful person in this world, they would not possess as much beauty as Bhagavān. Today, the more we praise Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa, the more Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa will bless us. See, Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa is beautiful; this is one of His divine opulences. And above all, Bhagavān is powerful. You must have heard in the newspapers about children watching the play of Śaktimān. There was a child who was jumping from Paris, thinking that Śaktimān would save him. And what would a child do? Such news doesn’t even appear in newspapers. Śaktimān is not like that. We are like a stone; how long can we hold it in our hands? One hour, two hours—so we cannot hold on for long. You will find it, but when Nanda Bābā, who was the father of Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa, was performing Govardhana Pūjā, one day Bhagavān said, "No, from today this Girirāja Govardhana is the mountain. From today, what will happen to it? What about Indra’s worship? Stop it." So when the worship of Indra was stopped and Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa... He said, this is Girirāja Govardhana. Now the Govardhana Pūjā will come. Up to the moment when the summons arrived, at that time the heavenly rain was falling. The entire village was distressed and sorrowful; so much rain had fallen, the dust had settled, it seemed as if everything would be destroyed, completely ruined. And everyone was devoted to Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa... And Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa immediately saw that this could certainly be the work of Indra. So what did Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa do? Sometimes even the devas do not understand Bhagavān, so how could Indra understand that Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa... which is the smallest finger, this one and the one next to it... Even what is called nākūn and the foremost part of the nākūn, what you are seeing here as the sixth, this is nothing. Imagine the mountains in your Rajasthan, the largest mountains that have a circumference, it takes six gāṇḍa to measure their circumference, so you can imagine that it is 22 kilometers. The mountain that Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa balanced on the tip of a single, sharp finger—this all-powerful Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa will free the world from suffering. Therefore, His name should be chanted as much as possible. Today, it is less, so I will end my words here. Everyone, please raise your hands. Everyone, please chant the name of Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa loudly, with love and faith—Hare Kṛṣṇa. It seems the children’s voices are a bit low, and the sisters’ voices are also low. Just one minute, don’t speak yet; the children will chant Hare Kṛṣṇa now. What you have to do is to defeat them, meaning to surpass them. The children will not chant yet; now the girls, meaning the ladies, the sisters, will chant. Say Hare Kṛṣṇa, so far you have lost, the children’s voices were louder. We will give you one more chance, say Hare Kṛṣṇa. The voice is the living person in the world, the voice is less, then what is the matter of the body? Thank you very much, all of you. You were the members of ISKCON, Śrīman Brajjaṅgīdāz Jī. You have beautifully described the līlās of Kṛṣṇa and made us immersed in Kṛṣṇa. On behalf of ISKCON, prasād will be distributed to you all today. We kindly request the six or seven volunteers to please escort these students in a line from the stage. All the gurus, please come forward to the stage. Respected Gurujan, kindly come here and assist in arranging the students in rows, and please make proper arrangements for the distribution of prasād. The entire Vidyālaya family expresses heartfelt gratitude to all the respected members who have come. Thank you very much for inspiring the students with your words. We are deeply grateful to you for imparting knowledge; thank you very much. On this day, before the sacred image of Paramahaṁsa Svāmī Śrī Dharmācārya Svāmī Śrī Mādhavānanda Purījī, one of the revered spiritual teachers of our distinct Purījī Siddha Pīṭha tradition, whom we consider an incarnation of Kṛṣṇa, we bow our heads in reverence. We bow our heads at the holy feet, and today we will raise a powerful cheer for them. Let us speak at the holy feet of Bhagavān, of Deveśvara Mahādeva, of Mādhava Kṛṣṇa Bhagavān, and of Vishwaguru Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara—celebrating the joy of today. As per Pradānācārī Jī’s instructions, all students should partake of the prasād. After receiving the prasād, both should place it only at a designated place, and with proper arrangement, the distribution of prasād at this mahotsava is being carried out by ISKCON.
