Live bhajans from Mahaprabhuji's Mahasamadhi celebration in Jadan

The Guru is the sole refuge and essential guide for liberation. Without the Guru, there is no awakening, no detachment, and no escape from ignorance. The Guru's grace alone cuts the cycle of birth and death and bestows liberation. The Guru is the father, mother, and the very life force. The Guru is Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and Maheśvara. True devotion requires complete surrender to the Guru's refuge. All worldly knowledge is dust without the Guru. Only through the Guru's grace can one cross the ocean of worldly existence and attain the supreme bliss.

"Without the guru, one does not awaken; renunciation and detachment do not come. Without the guru, one wanders in ignorance—how can one attain dhyāna?"

"Gurudeva is the father and mother, the guru, the knower, and the revealer. The guru is the knower of the Vedas, the remover of all impurities."

Part 1: A Devotional Discourse on the Guru and Divine Grace This is a spiritual lecture about Yoga in the Indian tradition. Mahārṣabha avatāra. What does it mean? Mahārṣabha avatāra. What is it? A spiritual aspirant. What does it mean? I praise the divine Lord, the great God; I praise the eternal Bhagavān; I praise the protector of the world, the Hindu savior; I praise Bhagavān Mādhavakṛṣṇa; I bow to the great Lord of the mind, the Guru of the world. Dīpa Nārāyaṇa, Sarvathā Sāvita, Bandho Śaraṇa Gurudeva Jī, Śrī Devapurī Śaṣur. From Śiva Loka, Śiva sent the wise Siddhayogī Rāja to the land of Bhārata, and thus Śrī Meśvarānanda Jī Mahārāja manifested. In the world, as Jagadguru, alongside Mahārājē, long live Maheśvarānanda, may he live for ages and ages. Speak of the omniscient Bhagavān, speak of the divine Mahādeva, speak of the feet of Bhagavān, speak of Viśvaguru Meśān Jī Mahārāja, who has come with the blessing of the beginning and will present the loving devotional songs. Thank you. This is a spiritual lecture about Yoga in the Indian tradition. He said, "I will fly, give the order, O Mahārāja, I am ready." The authority here is bar. The authority here is bar, here is bar... is. Haryon namo Rāma Gurudeva jī, Haryon namo Rāma Gurudeva jī, namo namo śab śānta, namo namo pāra brahma neta, namo namo Bhagavān, namo namo śab śānta, namo pāra brahma. Who is that who goes like a boat without a helmsman? O Maṅgala Giri, how is it so? The Satguru is the steadfast Lakṣmaṇa; in the refuge of the Satguru, what can I lose? Listen to the gift—when the Satguru calls, I run swiftly to His refuge. What should I do? I do what is good, I do what is good. Take my shelter, look with auspicious vision; the Giver will surely become benevolent to me. Maṅgala Giri says, "You are the hundredfold Guru, the captor of bondage; listen, O hundredfold Guru, with your grace, you have freed me from the cycle of birth and death. Gurudevajī, you have spoken words of power, bestowed auspiciousness and blessings. Now what fear remains? Imagination has vanished from the body; dryness and separation no longer persist." O auspicious one, I bow deeply at your feet, Maṅgala Girī. Victory to the light, may Gurudeva show mercy. The sound of your words strikes like a thunderclap; may you grant the grace of a hundred Gurudays. Please bless me with kindness and fulfill my work. This is the humble prayer of your servant—hear it, O dispeller of worldly fears. Who else but Gurudeva, the beloved of my heart, can be the savior? Only those who have taken refuge are the souls who overcome the heaviness of worldly existence. Gurudeva is their refuge; none can surpass Him. Śivaśeṣa, Nārada, Śuka, Hari—all sing the praises of Gurudeva. Gurudeva, You are the great wealthy protector, the welfare of the entire world. We offer our obeisance to You, the remover of suffering and the uplifter of hearts. Without the guru, one does not awaken; renunciation and detachment do not come. Without the guru, one wanders in ignorance—how can one attain dhyāna? Without the guru, new wisdom does not arise—who else can reveal it? The guru takes one beyond the cycle of birth and death; the guru’s grace strikes like a blow. Without the guru, who can purify? The guru grants liberation—where else can the jīva go to find refuge? Maṅgala Giri says, without a guru, all is worthless; without a guru, whatever knowledge there is, is but dust upon the head. Gurudeva, we bow to you always; you are the life and prāṇa within us. You are our life, you are our breath; you are indeed our protector. Gurudeva, we bow to you always. May life and prāṇa be ours; Gurudeva, salutations always to you. You are the guru, Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and Maheśvara. You are the guru, Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and Maheśvara. You are the supreme Brahmā, Parameśvara. You are the guru, Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and Maheśvara. You are the supreme Brahmā, the guru, the sun, the śakti, and Gaṇeśa, the illumination of my temple... Gurudeva, salutations to you always, you are the life and prāṇa of ours. Gurudeva, salutations to you always, you are the life and prāṇa of ours. You are the life and prāṇa, you are our protector. Gurudeva, salutations to you always, you are the life and prāṇa of ours. Gurudeva is the father and mother, the guru, the knower, and the revealer. The guru is the knower of the Vedas, the remover of all impurities and distractions. Gurudeva, salutations to you always; you are the life and prāṇa within us. Gurudeva, salutations to you always; you are the life and prāṇa within us. You are the abode of our prāṇa, you are our very life; you alone are our protector. Gurudeva, salutations to you always; you are the life and prāṇa within us. Gurudeva, salutations. Gurudeva is pure and immaculate, Gurudeva is the remover of sorrow, sin, and suffering. May all sorrow be cleansed, may all sorrow be cleansed, you are the one who helps us cross over, you are the one who helps us cross over. Gurudeva, we always bow to you; you are the life and prāṇa of our existence... You are the life force of our existence, you are our true guardians. Gurudeva, we bow to you always. You are the life force of our existence, Gurudeva, we bow to you always. You are the eternal light, O Svāmījī of my heart’s depths... Followers of our devotees and those devotees themselves, O Śiva Brahmī, your refuge, O Gurudeva, we always bow to you. You are the life and prāṇa within us, O Gurudeva, we bow to you. With faith, you are the life and prāṇa within us. Speak, O Svāmī Maiśranana Jī Mahārāja, the supreme guru of Mādhavārana Jī Mahārāja, the lord of the gods, Mādhava. Hail to Gurudeva, the great father of the eternal Sanātana Dharma! May the servants of the Guru continue to serve the Guru a hundredfold. May the brothers be blessed with the grace of the Guru. Hail to the true Guru who dispelled all fears upon meeting him. May the servants of the Guru continue to serve the Guru a hundredfold. Hail to the Guru’s servants! The six gurus are like hopes and desires; oh, the great one is like a vast ocean. One who is not under the influence of the guru does not attain self-realization, does not attain self-realization. The stomach is full, yet the mind remains restless; how can one attain true knowledge without first surrendering to the Satguru? Maṅgala Giri says, one who eats without devotion suffers greatly. The pride did not diminish, O friend, it took control in the midst; the devotee became overwhelmed, became overwhelmed. Without the bhajana, everything remains empty; your and my efforts do not bear fruit. Like the mother river, the fool ran away. Victory to the auspicious Kirī! They say there is little grasp of bhajana, O friend, but the bhajana was not done. O elder brother, you did not lose your pride, O friend, friend, listen, the hundred-headed guru is wealthy, great, and compassionate. Victory to the one immersed in the ocean of Bhāmashāgara, take me across, take me across the net, O Mother, take the wire. Oh, I weep for ages, O Lord, the giver, do not give even a moment’s rest. The auspicious mountain says, “This is my question.” Listen, O hundred-fold guru, the compassionate one with a great heart. O compassionate one, please hold a hundred congregations, O Śāntarī, they impart great knowledge, indeed, do not attend trivial gatherings, what can those who are ignorant understand? What can the ignorant understand? They know nothing of true knowledge. Others do not consider us fools; they are attached to their own ways. Indeed, those whose hearts are filled with auspiciousness say... Brother, the beginning has come in childhood, the beginning has come; the ignorant one does not understand. I have done intense tapasyā. The ignorant give, but the wise receive. So, perhaps the wise are within you like oil in a sesame seed. When knowledge flows abundantly, then one sees the play of the Divine. I have surrendered, O Lord of this life, the burden is upon You; the burden of crossing and liberation is upon You. I have surrendered all of this life to You. If I remain distant from You in this world, how can I live in this world? On this shore, You are within me; on the other shore, You are within me. I have entrusted all the responsibilities of this life to your hands. When the Guru is found, O fakīra, he grants you a lineage and a home... I have offered this devotion entirely to you, entirely to you, within your very being, entirely within your very being... You have the right to cross the ocean of existence and death; you have the authority to cross the ocean of existence and death. In other words, you have the right in your wealth. Speak the truth of Gurudeva, Gurudeva Śrī Maiśranana Jī Mahārāja, Gurudeva Śrī Jasrājpurī Jī Mahārāja. Victory to them, victory to the joy of today. Victory to the auspiciousness; illusion and death do not prevail much. If I were to die, I would not become a satī; I would not show off. Those who show off are caught in the trap of illusion. Oh, the renunciates avoid it, and they ask everyone to renounce. The dead body does not spread much; the fun does not spread much. I say with authority, what is the use of Maṅgala Girī’s disease? I say with authority, do not do anything. Those sages, oh, how many fools have drowned in the ocean of existence, in the ocean of existence, lost their way like a crow, their form ruined like a broken cuckoo. I firmly say, my friend, do not force anything. Oh, respected Gurujī, I have come to you with complete surrender. The inner self has become drenched, O friends, the Satguru has come into the world as the king. Indra has become the lord of knowledge, dispelling ignorance. Some are wicked, some are virtuous. The king Indra brings the rain; the world is burdened with the weight of the rains. Indra is the king in the world, and in Gurudeva, that inner essence is special. Indra rains for a month, and the Satguru is present for twelve months, the Satguru is present for twelve months continuously. The guru applies the herb, and oh, curiosity is awakened; the seed of devotion is sown. O true Gurudeva, the giver of the eternal and true dharma, sing a hymn and say Jaiho Śab. In the forest, the peaceful Gurudeva of the true men, the devotee of Bhagavān, the swift Bhagavān, the wife of Meśrāṇana Jī, the wife of Jasrājpurī Jī, Gurudeva’s... Come inside, everyone. Playing the ḍholaka and singing are the main activities. Hail to the compassionate singer, Jai Deva Jai Jai. Sanskrit and Hindi terms include: cakra, prāṇa, kuṇḍalinī, ātman, Brahman, saṃskāra, dharma, paramātmā, śakti, yoga, saṃskāra, dharma, paramātmā, śakti, yoga,... Saṃskāra does not fade away; it is like a letter folded within oneself. The pool of virtuous deeds and the blossoming roses all gather together. How can one truly grasp it? It seems as if it is beyond reach, like four yojanas above oneself. The man is full of knowledge and awareness; the city resounds with the unstruck sound, the anāhata, filled with virtuous deeds... If one goes to the inaccessible, only Kabīra Sāha Dharamdāsa revealed it and wrote it down. Compassion was well attained, but it does not come easily. Sukarata, Pūla, Gulābara—all these remained and merged within. How could anyone write it down? It cannot be written without grace. Observe here how Purū Satguru Dayāla Svāmījī Meśraṇana Jī Mārāja won over a woman. There, Sir, we saw how our Satguru revealed the secret. What can I give to the unseen? The Sadguru has shown; if told, then for the sake of the Guru’s darśana, everything has been bestowed and scattered. In the blink of an eye, it all flies away. Now I have nothing left. Why does this dust deceive the solitary one? How can it be explained? I have seen the unseen, as my Satguru has shown. So, having had the vision of Garuḍa, I have now left my family. Now, come to your own home. The word of the Heli inscribes and touches the heart; the desire is to play with your Nirguṇa nāma. Kabīśa Dharamdāsa, reflect on this intention and speak of Satguru Deva. Say, "Satguru Deva kī Svāmījī Meśrāṇana Jī Mahārāja kī jai ho, jai ho,... Sāhe Bandha kī." Viśvaguru māmana le sarviṣva guru māmana le sarviṣva... guru māmana Śrī Maheśvarānandajī Gurudevakī. The world has been illuminated by Viśvadīpa Hari; countless salutations to the Lord who lives in the world. Countless salutations to those who hide themselves; countless salutations at their feet. Viśvadīpa has come into every world; countless salutations, countless salutations. Part 2: A Devotional Discourse on the Guru, the Self, and the World Do not consider me as merely alive; know me as the mind of Mahāprabhujī. Know me as the mind of Mahāprabhujī, the giver, the compassionate one. I bow to Mahāprabhujī countless times. Mahāprabhujī is the lamp for millions who have come into this world; countless salutations to the refuge. Vishva Dīp, salutations millions of times at your feet, salutations millions of times at your feet, millions of salutations, millions of salutations... millions upon millions. There is no gurutā, no there is no gurutā, there is no gurutā, no there is no gurutā... Is the prāṇa Bhagavān or is the prāṇa Bhagavān... The whole world is like a forest; what is this world? What exactly is this world? Bhāvchī said, Bhāvchī declared that the entire world is a servant of Bhagavān. So, who is this world, brother? If you observe carefully and attentively, then you will realize that this world is not separate from us; it is not an enemy or a stranger. This calculation, this account, by adding one word, Minak becomes Hamje, not Minag but Hamzhe, Minag is like a command to kill... Ah, you yourselves Biharis, the whole world is our servant. First, servant, O Devī, O Devī, from the deity, from the deity, from the deity... The entire world is the servant of the One who holds the lamp of the universe. Among the fourteen people, the command is mine; three people are servants. Among the fourteen people, now no one else has command. One Nisa, the entire fourteen is complete. Among the fourteen, the command is mine; three people are servants. Now look ahead, Dharmarāj is my servant, Dharmarāj is my servant. Indrāj is the commander, the whole world is our servant, the whole world is our servant. I am the Thākur, eternal and beginningless, I am the Thākur, eternal and beginningless. The world belongs to Him, the whole world is our servant. I am the eternal giver; this hungry soul is a beggar, this hungry soul is a beggar. I give, but do not take back; this is the way of the world’s sorrow. The whole world is a garden of roses, our Sadguru is like the divine city of Devapurī, formless and beyond form, the eternal lamp of refuge. Sadguru is the master, the lamp of refuge. Again and again, the one who cuts through bondage, the one who transcends beyond Brahman, the whole world is our servant. I am the Lord, the primal nāḍī; the world is our servant. All the world is a servant to our Purīśa Mahādeva, victory to Him. Om Pravudīpa Mātva Kiśhṇī Bhagavān, victory to Him. Śrī Dīpa Dayāla, listen carefully, grant us the true company, grant us the true company. Śrī Dīpa Dayāla, listen carefully. O Lord, O compassionate light, please listen to my plea; save me from the company of faults and keep those faults far away. O Śrī Dīp Dayāl, please hear my prayer. Have mercy and grant me satsaṅga, have mercy and grant me satsaṅga. O Śrī Dīp Dayāl, please listen to my plea. O Lord, O compassionate light, please listen to my plea. The practice of Brahmā remains uninterrupted in this kingdom; this is my sādhanā. The unwavering lamp of compassion has been lit, O Lord, please accept this dust. O Lord, the lamp of compassion has been lit, please accept this dust. By Your grace, grant me the true company of the wise. The lamp of compassion has been lit, please accept this dust. O Lord, the lamp of compassion has been lit, please accept this dust. The universal lamp’s light remains manifest within the heart; dispel the darkness of Brahman in me. O Lord, by Your mercy, please accept this dust. Bestow Your grace upon me, grant me true companionship, Bestow Your grace upon me, grant me true companionship. Whoever shows mercy upon Your divine will, listens with devotion, whose meditation remains steadfast at Your feet every moment, my love grows ever greater. O merciful Lord, hear my humble plea, Bestow Your grace upon me, grant me true companionship, Bestow Your grace upon me, grant me true companionship. O compassionate Lord of the shore, please listen to my humble plea. O merciful Lord of the shore, please accept this world. With every breath, I remember You. O Rājatuna, you are the Saguṇa Brahman, the embodiment of Śukrāsi. You reside in my eyes, O Śrī Dīpa Dayāla. O Rājatuna, awaken my intellect; listen, O Yāraja, and bestow your grace upon me. Grant me the company of the truth; awaken my intellect, O Yāraja, listen to me. May I be the servant of your servants and may this bring joy. My Sevālī, who brought forth the method, has heard the dust. Please bless me with satsaṅga, please bless me with satsaṅga. O revered Dīp Dayaḷ Yāraj, hear me; O Lord Dīp Dayaḷ Yāraj, hear me. Prabhudī, Prabhudī... O fragile one, listen to the call, have mercy on the servant, listen to the dust, grant your grace. Bestow true companionship, have mercy on the servant, listen to the dust. O Lord, Diśp, have mercy, listen to the dust. Come daily in dreams and dispel all illusions, dispel all false dreams. O Śrī Diśp, have mercy, listen to the dust. Please bless me with satsaṅga, take me to the feet of Śrī Dīp, listen to my humble request. May my faith never diminish, may my faith never diminish; it only grows day by day, it only grows day by day. O Śrī Dīp Dayāl, please hear my plea, O Śrī Dīp Dayāl, please hear my plea, bless me with satsaṅga. Please bestow your grace upon me and grant me the company of the truth, O Śrī Dīp Dayāl, hear my humble plea. O Śrī Dīp Dayāl, have mercy, O Giver, O Śrī Dīp Dayāl, have mercy, O Giver. Accept the humble devotion of your servant, O Lord Dīp Dayāl, hear my plea. Bestow your grace upon me and grant me the company of the truth. Devotees at the feet of Prabhu Mādhavānana Jī seek devotion; devotees at the feet of Prabhu Dāvānana Jī seek devotion. Born lifetimes as Hari’s servant, the one who listens to the plea of Śrī Dīp Dayāl, Śrī Dīp Dayāl’s plea is heard. May He grant His feet, may He grant His feet, Śrī Dīp Dayāl’s plea is heard. Glory to Śrī Dīpa Dayāla Arjya Sonalī, who is Om Viśvanya Bhagavān Śrī Dīpa Nāna Mahāprabhujī. Glory to Śrī Śrī Dēpa Riśā Mā Dhēva. Glory to Indu Samrāra Dharma Chakratī Svāmījī Śrī Mādhya Kiṣhṇa Jī Bhagavān. Glory to Viśvaguru Mahā Mūleśa Svāmī Śrī Mahiśvāna Jī Bhagavān. Did the pratiśiṅga bloom anywhere? Did the pratiśiṅga bloom anywhere?... The pratiśiṅga... The Sadguru said, "A spiritist should first learn the bhajana. Give me the nāre, then people will recognize the true ones. They are not called true just by shouting nāre..." The saying "the hand that gives, comes back" is true. To nourish the imperishable is to feed it in such a way that it is not taken away. If you are absorbed within yourself, then it happens like this; if you are absorbed within yourself, then it happens like this—this is the nourishment. If you want to become imperishable, then it should be like this: you must merge within yourself, it should be like this. If you want to merge, then it should be like this. If you want to merge, then it should be like this. If you want to become imperishable, then it should be like this. How to play, see from above—you have again come, the creator, the named māyā. From the outside, you again appear as a woman; this māyā is the form of the puruṣa. If you want to cast a shadow, it must be like this. You must merge into your own self; Bhagavān is already merged within you. Now write this down: Bhagavān is merged within you, hidden within. You say, "From the outside, you have come again," but prāṇa, kuṇḍalinī, and māyā are all attached. Now say this: The entirety of the puruṣa is no longer bound by the whole puruṣa. If it is to be hidden, let it be hidden like this; if it is to be hidden, let it be hidden like this... If you wish to hide, do so in a way that you remain imperishable; if you wish to illuminate, do so in a way that you remain imperishable. If you wish to illuminate, do so in a way that awakens the light of knowledge and dispels the darkness of illusion. If you want to reveal light within light, it must be done like this: To reveal light within light, it must be done like this— Set the wings of the wind in motion, Make the palace sway, Lay a bed on the peak. If you want to spread, it must be done like this— Nurture the imperishable thought, If you want to nourish, it must be done like this— The shimmering flame goes into the mother; In hearing, it cannot be seen, brother. The shimmering light dwells within; the ear does not perceive it. O Ramevā, if you are the eternal beloved, then let it be so. If you are the eternal beloved, then let it be so. If you wish to conquer the self, then let it be so. To conquer is indeed to be thus; if you wish to conquer, then let it be so. To conquer the self is to be eternal; if you wish to conquer, then let it be so. The word was given to me, the brave one received it; Gurudev Purī gave me the word. The word was given to me, the brave one; Svāmījī lit the lamp completely. If the lock is to be perfect, it should be like this; if the indestructible lock is to be made, it should be like this. Drink the essence of Rāma, O beloved, the kuṇḍalī is filled with the essence of Rāma, drink the essence of Rāma, O beloved, the kuṇḍalī is filled... In a bowl filled with sweetened dried fruits, drink the nectar of Rāma. In a bowl filled with sweetened dried fruits, drink the nectar of Rāma, O one filled with kuṇḍalinī. The sugar and jaggery are both mixed together. Goṭ goṭ... Go Rāma Raśpī Rāma Raśpī... Rāma Harī is the Hari of māyā, the pure essence of Hari’s sweetness is filled with kuṇḍalinī; the essence of saints is filled with kuṇḍalinī. Those who drink it, their gardens bloom; those who do not drink it, their gardens wither. Those who drink are fortunate, those who do not are unfortunate. The fortunate do not seek, the unfortunate do not find the mountain. Fear did not arise, nor was power found; O Ram, the cup is filled with nectar, O Kunal, the cup is filled with Hari’s nectar, the cup is filled with the sweetness of fruits and sugar, the cup is filled with the sweetness of fruits and sugar; O saints, the cup is filled with Ram’s nectar. The pain of others is like this, it is said so. What is it? Listen carefully, I will tell you. Sometimes you do good, sometimes you do some mischief. Sometimes you do good, sometimes you do mischief. Hey, do you remember what sins you have committed? If you don’t remember, then there are many. I have done many sins, but I don’t really know which ones. There is no deception; all are the same. No matter how worldly beings are, whether small or big, everyone knows how much water I contain. One hundred percent guaranteed, not even one percent is unknown. Some say this, some say that. In reality, Gurugānāḍa Jī has enlightened us, and I have understood how one should remain. What is bitter and what is not bitter? In this bitter world, bitter things are indeed bitter. So how can the bitter be otherwise? And how can the Guru be otherwise? The Guru has said, the neem is bitter, but the sugar that sweetens it is even sweeter... At the Sayabari Dargā, I saw such a Guruvār, at this Yabarī Dargā, I saw such a Guruvār. Flowers and sandhō, love does not always remain; flowers and tolyō, love does not always remain. Sin and dharma, I no longer care; sin and dharma, I no longer care for you. The path of Buthodārī is said to be the path of the brave. Weigh the flowers, the roses, five or eight, day by day, keep them balanced, but the balance is not equal. In this world, love decreases and then increases; you see, the universe is not constant. Love is not always constant. Sin and dharma were never fixed, nor are they fixed now. That is what is said about sin and dharma. And no more delays, the matter is settled. The rains have stopped, the winds have calmed. What lies ahead is clear. The crops are saved, the crops are saved, saved, saved... Now speak up, the first break has come, dear ones. Jādaregar Saṅkaṇī gave the illusion of the world, and the smoke made him forget the Creator, O Creator, take the name and the guru’s grace. The guru’s power is like a fortress; it destroys the district. Some fools said, “You speak nonsense,” but return to the true path. Saṅkaṇī gave the illusion of the world. Di di dūm forgot the Creator, oh di Speak, O Gurkhan, break the silence and speak. Speak, O Gurkhan, break the silence and speak. O milk brother, pour the milk, spread the essence. O milk brother, pour the milk, spread the essence. O Rāpānī Rehu, these are also tales, they say there are many doubts, many confusions, and many disputes arise. Who is this deity dṛṣṭi and king dṛṣṭi that you speak of? What do they grant you? They should not be granted. Why grant them? Oh, who are these dṛṣṭis? Am I a dṛṣṭi? Or am I a dṛṣṭi myself? Can I not take it from my own father? My dealings with the Father are entirely separate from myself; water is water. I do everything in this life without keeping it in my mind. If this balance remains, then whatever debt there is, let it be... So among my disciples, I will do the partition. Mr. Partition, do this for your brother; he is my disciple, so he is like a brother to the guru. Hey brother, increase his installment, reduce the interest, let him pay in five parts—he will manage it. Reduce the interest, give it all at once, don’t do it like this, understand? Gaya Pratiṣhṇa Jī, now I have released five, among these five, Saral read it like this, like this, in this there is the immense past birth, and birth, no suffering or anything else was found, when it came, I had to give it the secret, I will not give it, how did the arrow come under my refuge, brother, the one who takes refuge will be guided by the Guru. Even the sinful, the wicked, the evil—when the surrendered one is saved, the surrendered one is saved. When that surrendered one comes, they are completely saved, just like that. It is as if they have been saved after many days, wandering and wandering... If one goes to the monastery, to the monastery, the devotees go to the monastery. If we do not go to the monastery, when one goes to the monastery, then all four sides gather—nameless, unknown—and eat straightforwardly. If someone rises, no one stops them; they will understand. And if they eat the bitter food, then at that time, at that very time, at that very time... That guru has come within refuge. Now, refuge means timely meals, timely meals. So, Bhagavān, two Bhagavāns—one who wins over the mind, the other who saves from evil—just as Bhagavān and Mātarājī have witnessed everything, the evil remains. I am a small Mātā Rājput, yet I practice many forms of yoga. The doer who wore coarse cloth and ate bitter fruits, everything was given up. The one who struck was an elephant; the elephant was asked by Bhāvasi. Bhāvasi said, "It is a strange matter; there were ten warriors, they were children. They say, ’Oh, you have done something to them, you have not given them the right gift.’ The one who was a vagabond, you tied him up like a dog with a leash. Bhāvasi, you are someone—so what magic have you done now?" Today, two thousand people got up, and the benches for sitting were broken. Two women also came, which is good, but many left early. Oh, Āśāpurī Mātā Jī, Mātā Madānē, Mātā Ruddhānē, bringing bottles—these are the devoted devotees of Mātā Jī. What is the fault of Mātā Jī’s devotees? Now what has the lion become? What are you saying? Even now you said, what did tying the strap achieve? Nothing. Yukti, yukti... yuk kutte kutte... What is their feeling—great or diminished? Tell me what you think. If you connect with them, then it is indeed the right thing. If no one connects with them, then tell me. I will spread it and do it. You go and show them. I will open their bond and you take it. But they have to put the entire bond. Oh, that has to be done slowly, slowly. We will also give you your turn soon; your Suna Kota is not yet complete. Eat, drink, and keep coming gradually, little by little... What happens in sastang is, first of all, the gate is not big at all... Gurṣṭāī khaid. Gurṣṭāī khaid... Gurṣṭā... I will share your experience, in my experience I have many things to say, here I am a complete person, a complete person, mind like this, like this,... From the beginning, your nature has been firmly established; now, for some of you, the color is still raw, but the firm color lies in respect and honor within. I realized this one day when someone said to me, quite foolishly, "You come and do this, do that, don’t do this, don’t do that..." If you are rebellious, then speak sweetly; if you can speak sweetly, then what else can you do? You have to convince yourself, right? Part 3: A Devotional Plea and Spiritual Counsel In the same way, Bhagavān also convinces everyone with patience. He acts behind the scenes, but the devotees sing His praises. They are fulfilling you completely. Please have compassion, O Lord Gurudev, who resides in the heart. I, your servant, bow my head at your feet; I, your servant, bow my head at your feet. Now I have come to seek your refuge, to help you cross over. Now I have taken your shelter, the one who helps you cross over. Now please have mercy, O Gurudev, the one who dwells in the hearts of your devotees. You who are the embodiment of the unmanifested, dispel my doubts and karma. I have surrendered to Noorājī, the one who leads to satsaṅg. I have surrendered to Noorājī, the one who leads to satsaṅg. Now have mercy on me, Gurudev, O king of all kings. Now have mercy on me, Gurudev, O king of all kings. The Satyogī is a great ascetic. His divine play in the sacrifice is boundless; no one has ever crossed beyond, O Creator of creation, no one has ever crossed beyond. Now, please show mercy, O Gurudev, the one who dwells in the lotus feet. Your thought is wondrous, your expanse is vast. Avishrevya Paksārā Jī, the one who pervades all within you. Now have mercy, O Gurudev, on the Lord who dwells within, the formless, the giver of bliss, who is like water within, illuminating all knots and revealing the body’s essence. Now have mercy, O Gurudev, on the Lord who dwells within. You are the compassionate God, always protect and care for your devotees. O Vishālūjī of divine complexion, greater than words, now please have mercy, Gurudevjī, the creator of all beings. O brave and valiant ones who conquer the senses, you who are passionate and fearless, all are essentially one, counting as one. Now, please show mercy, O Gurudev’s beloved ones. Sometimes sit in silence, calming your own mind. Seize the name of the Enemy, the one who grants liberation to the heart. Now you show compassion, O those adorned with Gurudev’s presence, like the serene and unchanging beings who are free from pride, like the cool and virtuous ones. Now you show compassion, O those adorned with Gurudev’s presence. Gurudev fully revealed that which is the essence of Soham, and made it heard. Svāmījī, like a fairy, showed the body to the living being. Now you all go, Gurudev jī, the king of all kings. Like Kailāsa itself, heavy with snow, the ascetic of Śiva with matted hair on his head, adorned with sacred ash on his body—now you come, walk with us, O fulfiller of the goal of life. Now whether you walk in smoke or face death alongside, some hold the sharp-edged sword, some bear the burden of battle, and in the open sky, a strange message has been revealed to those who speak with heartfelt voices. Now you come along with us, O those adorned with the radiance of life. Now the wires are all connected, the thread is spread in the ear, the light is abundant, the heat is sweetened. Now you come along with us, O bestower of life and immortality. That great seat is the heavy throne of Nandeshwar, ridden by Gajānanda Adhikārī, the one who grants siddhi—yes, Gajānanda Adhikārī himself. Those who grant steadfastness, now come walk with us; those who grant steadfastness, now come walk with us. The garland of virtues is heavy with jewels; Pārvatī is the dark creation—your woman is such that no one can surpass her. Your creation is woman, O life-giver, no one can trample upon her. Now come, walk with us, O you who bestow the gift of life. Now come, walk with us, O you who bestow the gift of life. The third eye opens wide, the hair rises, the pretense falls away. O brave one, the weight of the world is heavy, but you bear it with grace, O you who dispel all obstacles. Now you come along with us, O one who has awakened life itself. Now whose work appears as the form of the sky? The one who governs all ten directions, the one called Brahman. Now you come along with us. Those who have attained perfection through Śaṅgajī, now you proceed, O Yamar. Those who have attained perfection through Śaṅgajī. Gurudev cursed Puri, yet showed me nirvāṇa; when will you show me the final vision? Svāmījī Bāpūrī has passed away, those who are devoted have passed away. Svāmījī Pyārī has passed away, those who are devoted have passed away. Prabhudī Pyārī has passed away, those who are devoted have passed away. Now you go, or with the dead bodies of the slain, the venerable Śrī Dīpa Nāna Bhagavān, Śrī Deva Purīśa Mahādeva, Viśva Guru Mahā Manale Śrī Dīva Mahā Surādhana Jī Gurudev—hail to them! Listen, listen, O Vojī, O merciful one, this is the child of devotion, the tender sprout. O listen, listen, my dear Dīp Dayāl Bhag, your words call out to me with all my heart. Other tricks cannot remove the suffering of the soul; if there were such a way, then the protector of the world would have surely fulfilled his duty with love. Oh listen, listen, my compassionate Bhagavān, I have come to your divine court—please hear my humble plea. The devotees are asking for alms, O Giver, you are the Giver; the devotees are asking, you are the Bestower. Fill our hands today, for our time has come. Give us that support, O Lord, the life-giver. Listen, O mind, listen carefully to this humble plea. O listen, listen, O merciful Bhagavān, I have come to your door. Untie the knots of my sins, O Lord, loosen the bonds that bind me. You are the infinite, boundless, and untainted; the entire universe is not yours alone. You are the infinite, boundless, and untainted; the entire universe belongs to Mahāprabhujī. Gurudev, you know that the whole world is His. Now, your silence has broken the rigid rules. Your silence has broken the rigid rules. I have come to your refuge today; listen now, listen with devotion. Listen, listen, O merciful Bhagavān, who has taken me into your great care. Oh yes, now Īśvara Dīp Dayāl Meṭo has been mistaken, respected humans. Gurudev is ours, with us; they are the great Viśvaguru with us. Otherwise, Hari Singh, your own brother, was wandering in the kingdom of the Ṛṣis. So, take refuge in the merciful one. Oh yes, listen, listen, my Dīp Dayāl devotee, your turn has come. Dīp Rāṇ Bhagavān is not elsewhere; he is with me, there is no other devotion. Bhakti is the path of life, understand this, O Ghaṭamāī Panhārī; the pot is on her head, and her face is like that of a mother. The senses are engaging in idle talk, O Mother, the mind is like a pot; such a mind we must maintain, O Mother, to perform the work of Bhagavān. The path of devotion is to be lived; understand this deeply. The potter’s wheel reveals the play of the infinite. We observe as the world sparkles. On the thread, the melody is intoned; on the thread, the melody is intoned. There is no other sound; the thread holds the essence, holding it firmly. The world is sustained by awakening, but the path of devotion is neither through Rāma nor Viṣṇu nor battle. That intellect does not understand; the Sadguru is not to be forgotten or taken lightly. First comes the Sadguru, then the family, and only then will matters settle. The hawk catches the pigeon—imagine with your own eyes, the hawk is above and the pigeon below. What noise does it make? The hawk catches the pigeon just like that. Similarly, the goal of devotion is to follow the path of Lord Rāma; society diminishes without this. Oh, the rabbit fixes its gaze, standing on one leg; the fish sets its trap. As soon as the knot is tied, the fish also sets its trap. The knot is tied, the trap must be set—O mind under the command of the Lord, the trap must indeed be set by the mind under the command of the Lord. If you want to live a life of devotion, understand that within you resides the Divine Mother, like a lotus flower. Do not get lost in the illusions of this world, for such attachments are futile. To live a life of devotion, surrender to the refuge of the Guru. Understand that in this life, you must serve all beings. In this birth, kindle the lamp of virtues abundantly within your mind. In this birth, O Mother. O seekers on the path, the essence of devotion is to be without qualities; the essence of devotion is to act. The Guru’s word is the essence; Gurumārabān has explained that every being, with all their senses, must practice devotion and also manage worldly duties. So, come to the river, bathe, and then perform all your tasks. The prāṇa is Bhagavān—honor Him. The importance lies in the fact that Bhagavān speaks; He becomes the one who grants the desires of the devotee. When one prays, Bhagavān responds; not in illusion, not in illusion... not in illusion. Śrī Pujje Sāyaṇ has come, I pray, may all tasks be fruitful, O master, the hundredfold guru’s blessing has been bestowed. O Rām, master, the supreme guru’s blessing is ours. In the name of Hari, I am a distant servant, a sorrowful one. At the lotus feet, I find rest; have mercy on the surrendered ones. Grant the blessed vision face to face. Evening is the time for guru veneration, ours is the guru veneration, O Hare Rām, master, ours is the supreme guru veneration, O Hare Rām. For a long time, I have been like an ink beetle, striving to become selfless. Waves arise in the heart, intentions form, desires emerge. O venerable one, I bow to the hundredfold revered name of the Guru, the eternal revered name of the supreme Guru. I have committed countless faults; please forgive me. Please listen to the humble offering of Śrī Svāmījī Dīp. Listen to the compassionate offering of Śrī Dīp Dayālu. Please serve the satsaṅg, serve the name, serve the satsaṅg. Give the name, Sāyab, a hundredfold obeisance to the Guru, our Hare Rāma; Sāyab, a hundredfold obeisance to the supreme Guru, our Hare Rāma. Revered Śrī Pūjye Nārāyaṇa, come now and bless us with success in all our endeavors. Sāyab, a hundredfold obeisance to the name; O Lord, Om, the divine light, hail to Kṛṣṇa Bhagavān! This eternal satsaṅg feels dear like a beloved companion. This eternal satsaṅg brings bliss, not like Vaikuṇṭha or Svarga, which are rare and hard to find. With satsaṅg, there is kingship and countless treasures, vanishing in the blink of an eye, yet it feels like a beloved companion. This eternal satsaṅg feels dear like a beloved companion. There is no Mathurā, no Piāg, no Gaṅgā comparable to satsaṅg. There is no Mathurā, no Piāg, no Gaṅgā comparable to satsaṅg. All lowly tendencies vanish through satsaṅg, like insects disappearing from a strong fortress. The company of the noble always feels dear, satsaṅg with the beloved is forever cherished. Awareness and saints inspire, the four Vedas are recited; the company of the noble is always dear. That eternal satsaṅg, revered and worshipped, is Bhagavān Devapurī, the supreme ascetic, the pure sage. Respected Bhagavān Deva Purī Mast Fakīr Malam Śrī Svāmījī Dīp Kāya, the storyteller of the village Satsaṅg, the Lord Dīp Kāya, the storyteller of the village Satsaṅg, always surrounded by the virtuous, always loving Satsaṅg, the virtuous are dear, always Satsaṅg. The saints and devotees all sing, the saints and devotees all sing, the essence of the four Vedas. The company of the virtuous always feels dear, the company of the virtuous always feels dear. Great is the weight of the ego, slowly, slowly, oh slowly, oh mind-king, the body is your own realm, blessed by the Lord. Oh mind-king, the body is your own realm, blessed by the Lord. The king, the mind, and the body reside in this body, the supreme abode. Oh mind-king, restless and fickle, you give many commands; we must obey these commands and thus live in the world. The mind is disobedient, doing everything on its own; everything is going wrong. The dice and gambling are all being played. In intoxication, men and women are all being sold. There is chaos everywhere; the mind is disobeying, selling the body. Come, brothers, everyone is fighting; the world is divided between mother and father. Everyone is burdened with the weight of the world, causing suffering. People behave like animals. Money and status have become the father and mother. Corruption and deceit prevail; the house is raised on falsehood. Everything is upside down and chaotic. Do you know why, enemies? Oh, everything is upside down, all happening in Kali Yuga. The supreme hope, the thirst, the illusion, the life’s desires—they are like a spider’s web; the mind is completely trapped in it. This spider is weaving a web, spreading it all around, entangling everyone, causing chaos and confusion. Paths are being cut, stretched, and pulled; the name of dharma is being abandoned. The lowly and base are prevailing, shaking everything. Such is the feeling that arises in the heart. Why repeatedly dwell in the hellish pit? O enemies, all this is happening due to ignorance. Now listen to the wise counsel the Guru gives: it is ignorance that is the enemy. Understand this now, all is happening because of ignorance. Now take the benevolent advice, O noble ones, you are the chosen of Īśvara. It is ignorance, so now take the benevolent advice, O noble ones. The divine gift is indeed the Brahman-like true Self; the mind is not a slave to commands. The mind is your own, yet it is the leader of that mind. To obey commands, the mind is your own, yet it is the leader. Therefore, keep faith in the name, which is the command of the Guru. Respect the Guru, the master of the mind, and grant the mind the kingdom of the Lord. When the intention is good and the mind is guided with understanding, then the intention becomes beneficial. When the mind and body become one and alike, the mind and body become victorious together. When the intention is good, one becomes a well-wisher; when the intention is good, one becomes a well-wisher indeed. When the mind and body become one and alike, then through sincere effort and true company, the body and mind unite. Do not hesitate in satsaṅg; through darśan alone, it is given. Therefore, make the effort to unite your body and mind in satsaṅg. When the mind unites, it will happen. In the court of satsaṅg, the decision is made and established. In the court of satsaṅg, leave behind your seat of restlessness and recognize the essence of the teachings. Therefore, engage in bhajan; the mind of Gurudev finds rest. The Guru’s grace is supreme; the mind becomes the king, and Hari’s lion offers salutations. I offer my respectful salutations to Gurushā Mārvān Jī and Hari Singh. I bow down and surrender myself completely. I had to do this for my desire, and I have done everything. I pray for liberation and blessings. O merciful Lord, I am devoted to You. O compassionate Lord, please guide me with Your body, mind, and dharma. Like reins to a horse, please direct me with Your signs and commands. Rītāl Sarub, please explain your thoughts to us. The guru has come, so the mind and body should offer their precious blessings to the beloved Prabhu. Victory to Bhagavān, victory to Mātvē Kīśan Bhagavān. Like the noble Arjuna, the eternal, formless, unborn, infinite One shines forth, untouched by birth or death, enveloped in divine radiance, ever pure and yogic. Salutations to the transcendent Lord, the gods and deities bow in reverence. The lamp of Gurudev’s feet forever illuminates the path, bestowing supreme bliss through yoga. Remembering the Lord, the child’s heart is stirred, the awakened soul rises like a blossoming tree, filled with devotion and beautiful surrender. Humble salutations again and again to Gurudev jī, countless obeisances. I am a disciple of the Satguru. You are the life-giver, the supreme Śiva Dev, the lord of the three worlds, the treasure of sages and saints. All bow down to Śiva Satguru; He is the eternal support. Neither kings nor ministers can compare; all are mere servants at the door. Who can surpass Rāma and Kṛṣṇa? Even they bow before Him. Those who are connected to the Guru, the original Śaṭguru, the complete and perfect one, listen carefully and understand the profound path. The Guru is Brahmā, the Guru is Viṣṇu, the Guru is Devo Maīśvara, the Guru is the direct Paramātmā. Thus, the Guru is the light of Brahmā, the light of Viṣṇu, the foundation of the Guru, the authority of the Guru. If the grace of the Guru is the supreme Brahman, the light that dispels all darkness, the eternal evening lamp, the eternal truth, the essence of sattva, the Guru who is Pārvatī’s consort, who is Brahmā himself, who is Viṣṇu himself, who is Kailāśa’s ascetic, who is Nārada himself, who is Sarasvatī herself, who is Śrī Śukra himself, who is the meditator, who is the knower, who is... Yog Prakāśī, Āpaho Dev Samdehī, Āpaho Sūrya Prakāśī, Āpaho Brahma Nirvāṇī, Āpaho Chāgol Kevāsī, Āpaho Devto Kyā Kyā, Āpaho Bhaktur Vāsī, Āpaho Satnāma Ke Dātā, Āpaho Jisavru Ke Gyātā, Omnamoṁ Prabhudī Paraṇāmā Danmānana Bhuruvāsī Bhurudī Pranāmā danmānana bhuruvāsī bhuruvāsī... bhur.
