We can not divide the Love

A satsang discourse on the universal and ancient science of yoga.

"Yoga is universal. All the saints and holy incarnations on this planet went through the practice of yoga."

"Yoga means union, harmony, understanding, wisdom. Yoga is the way to God because God Himself practices yoga."

The lecturer addresses spiritual seekers, continuing from a previous talk on yoga postures. He presents yoga as the foundational spiritual science for body, mind, and soul, encompassing all religions and aimed at self-realization. He discusses its origins with Shiva, its role in ending the soul's cycle of suffering, and promotes the "Yoga in Daily Life" system, touching on pranayama, the error of religious division, and the unity of all creation.

Oṁ Śāntiḥ, Śāntiḥ, Śāntiḥ. Yā Devī Sarva Bhūteṣu, Śānti Rūpeṇa Saṁsthitā, Namaste, Namaste,... Namo Namaḥ. Yā devī sarva-bhūteṣu buddhirūpeṇa saṁsthitā, namastase, namastase... Namo namaḥ. Yā devī sarva-bhūteṣu śaktirūpeṇa saṁsthitā. Namastase, Namastase, Namostase, Namo namaḥ. Oṁ śānti, śānti, śānti. Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān kī jaya. Śrī Śrī Dev Purīṣa Mahādeva Kī Jai, Satguru Svāmī Madhvānandjī Bhagavān Kī Jai, Satya Sanātana Dharma Kī Jai. Good morning, dear sisters and brothers, spiritual seekers, practitioners of yoga and daily life, and all those following spiritual paths. Bless you all. I speak in the name of Bhagavān Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Mahāprabhujī. It is a beautiful day, and we are all here together. The subject began yesterday: the well-being of human life to support the entire creation on this planet, to guide human consciousness and feelings towards all creatures, to love them, to love mankind, to create peace in the world, and to protect beautiful nature, ocean, lake, rivers, and ponds. Yoga itself is sustainable. Nowadays, the United Nations speaks of sustainable development, meaning something that does not need extra support but maintains itself in its original beauty and nature as the Divine has created. Yoga and daily life stand here for physical, mental, spiritual, and social health, as well as supporting wildlife, protecting the environment, protecting water, and developing spirituality on this planet, which is very important for us. Yesterday we spoke about the practice of yoga postures. Yoga has become an international subject; every third person in this world is practicing yoga. Where there is a human, there is yoga, and where there is yoga, there is a human. Because yoga is the science of the body, mind, consciousness, and the soul, it is the way for liberation, for self-realization, or for God-realization. Yoga is one of the most ancient and first spiritual sciences, the way of happiness, the way to God, the way to oneself. Many times people misunderstand. They think yoga is a kind of cult. Some think yoga is some magic. Some think yoga is a particular religion. Those who say this are still in ignorance, in darkness. They are far away from reality and from God's love and message. Yoga is universal. All the saints and holy incarnations on this planet went through the practice of yoga. You may read holy scriptures, pray, go to a temple, ashram, mosque, or church, help the needy, or work for health. This is nothing but yoga. Therefore, yoga is not a particular part of any religion, but all religions are a part of yoga. But this is only for those who know, who evoke in their heart and consciousness the divine knowledge. Those who are centered only on the outer, material world, materialism, working and fighting for position, money, and power—this is, unfortunately, not the subject for humankind. Human quality is to accept with love everything as it is. Once, a lady from America asked Mahatma Gandhi, "Gandhījī, why are there so many goddesses and so many spiritual ways in India?" Gandhiji looked at her and said, "Sister, that is beauty." India is fortunate. Can you imagine a beautiful garden with only one kind of flower? Or do you imagine a garden with different kinds of beautiful flowers? Which garden will you choose? Every flower, every blossom, every plant has its own shape, its own beauty, its own color. That is called unity in diversity. Each and every plant needs the same attention, the same kind of oxygen, light, water, and fertilizer. They all live in one garden, and every plant has its roots in Mother Earth. Similarly, Gandhiji said, all the spiritualities and beautiful ways and different divine senses which are at home in Mother India—therefore, learn to love all. Do not learn to make differences. Don't learn to make dualities. Don't try to see negatives. You cannot see anything in this world which is a negative created by God. Whatever God created is beautiful. The negative is, unfortunately, a selfish person's thoughts, which are the problem in the world, creating restlessness and dividing humans from humans, dividing the earth. That is the problem. Yoga means union, harmony, understanding, wisdom. Yoga is the way to God because God Himself practices yoga. Even the first one in the entire universe, Svayaṁbhū, Śiva. When He manifested Himself from Śiva Jyoti, from light, He manifested in human form for the first time in the entire endless universe, after all the stars, suns, moons, and elements were created. Ānanda Brahman, endless universe, beautiful blue light. From that, the blue flame comes, that Śiva Jyoti. That is our soul, our ātmā. From this jyoti, Svayaṁbhū Śiva came after beginning everything. At that time, when Śiva manifested, He was sitting in a meditation position. Anyone who is spiritual, of any religion, any spiritual path, any holy saint on this planet meditates. This meditation is a link from thyself to the cosmic Self, one without a second. That was the message given by Śiva. Yoga, you may call it a spiritual path, religion, God, or whatsoever. From that time continues the science of yoga, the vidyā, jñāna vidyā tṛpta ātmā, jñāna vidyā—the knowledge and the science, that spiritual science, praviddhā. When this is realized, that is called tṛpta-ātmā. That ātmā is satisfied, content, like a hungry person gets food. When you have eaten enough and drunk nice water or juice, you say, "Now I am satisfied." Similarly, jñāna-vijñāna-draptātmā is one with God, and that is possible. My dear brothers, sisters, and dear ones all around the world who are listening to me now, that is within you, and that will give you yoga. Kṛṣṇa was meditating. God Rāma was meditating. All twenty-four incarnations, and even Jesus, came to India and practiced yoga and learned meditation. Through the science of yoga, He learned how to go out of the body. That made Jesus unable to resist the pain on the cross. Unfortunately, it is a pity this part of Jesus's life is missing in the Bible. I do hope, for the sake of all seekers around the world who love Jesus—and Christmas time is coming—that we may find all details of the life of Jesus in India. There are writings in Banaras, writings in Orissa, Bhūneshwar, and messages also in Kashmir, where Jesus traveled everywhere. My dear one, we cannot divide God, we cannot divide incarnations, we cannot divide the saints, we cannot divide the truth in two, we cannot divide spirituality, we cannot divide love. We cannot divide that cosmic Self. Whoever tries to divide it is in ignorance. Human ignorance divides. Humans create jealousy, anger, hate, conflict, and greed. That is a clear picture of the ignorance and stupidity of such people, that they are still at a very low level of their development. In Kuṇḍalinī Yoga we say, even not till the Mūlādhāra, below the Mūlādhāra. When knowledge appears, then that wise person will say, "Viśva prāṇī merī ātmā hai"—all the creatures in this world are my ātmā, myself. Ātmā sohī paramātmā, and this ātmā itself is the paramātmā, the cosmic Self. Duality is in this mortal body. Duality is in the jīva, the individual soul. The individual soul is nothing but the suffering part of the creature. The soul is the bundle of all experiences and karmas. The experiences from ages: the soul is fluttering on the waves of time, space to space, experiencing happiness, pleasure, peace, and joy, sometimes misery, painfulness, suffering, darkness. This all is collected in individual phenomena. In every incarnation, when the soul is incarnating, it is getting again something karmic, like a snowball. When the soul passes from this material world and comes to the astral world, it again becomes aware of what mistake one did. How many people have you disappointed? You have created hate, jealousy, duality, and conflict in them. Their suffering will attack you again in the astral world. There, you will take again, like a snowball, the miseries. That will become heaviness. And again, from the astral world, the soul descends into this mortal world. And so, this is the long, long journey of suffering. Thanks to Satguru Dev, thanks to those saints of the world, thanks to those yogīs who self-realized, that they awake them. Mahāprabhujī said, "Oh my mind, give up your arrogance, give up your negative thoughts. Come follow me, I will give you Ātmā-jñāna. You will realize who you are. Then you will be free forever." That is the aim of all religion. That is the aim of all holy saints. That is the message of the incarnations of the gods, of different types. Can you imagine how many holy persons, monks and nuns, yogīs and swāmīs, the lamas, whatever we call the munis, ṛṣis—how many hours are they standing on their knees? How many hours are they praying? Every hour is divided: half an hour working in the garden or the kitchen or helping, again coming, sitting and praying and praying. And for what? "God, forgive all my sins, my mistakes." Surdha jī said, "Prabhujī, mere auguṇ chitnā dharo, sam draṣṭī hai nām tyāro, chāhe to par karo, Prabhujī, mere auguṇ chitnā dharo." O Lord, please do not notice my mistakes. Sam draṣṭī hai nāma tyāro, you are merciful, you come here to take up the sin of all your devotees. Suta jī said this, and the same thing was repeated by Jesus. The same thing was taught by all—Buddha, Kṛṣṇa, and so on. The same message is also in the Holy Quran. When you read, concentrated in the Holy Quran, how beautiful it is, and how disciplined they are, praying every day. You know, don't think some people think that Muslims are maybe fanatic. No, no. They are so disciplined, and they pray every day so humbly. God sees that. God sees that. So we are all children of one God. Thanks to yoga, from the time Śiva appeared, through the Satyugas, Tretā Yugas, Dvāpar Yugas, and also the beginning of the Kali Yugas, they were all... And now we have developed beautiful, different teachings from different great saints or masters, and we name it like a religion. Why not? Religion has to learn to live together. So yoga is great, and everyone should practice. We spoke yesterday about the āsanas, how to practice, because āsanas make us happy, relaxed, and give good health. Some people think, "No, we don't want to practice yoga." Well, you are not forced to practice. But one day will come that you will think, "Oh God, I should have practiced yoga. Then I would not have this physical problem." Similarly, there is prāṇāyāma. Prāṇa, Vyayam, that is something of the Prāṇa Śakti. Prāṇa is not only oxygen. Prāṇa is that which unites, keeps the entire universe together. It is that Prāṇa which is balancing all planets, stars, sun, and moon. It is that prāṇa which keeps our Mother Earth. It is that prāṇa which keeps the ocean. How beautiful is Earth? Mountains, valleys, the desert, the forest, the lakes, the rivers, and the ocean. If there is no prāṇa, this water would just disappear in the universe. But it is that prāṇa which keeps what you may call gravity. What is that gravity? You will say, like a chumbak, like a magnet. But what is that energy in the magnet, between the iron and the magnet, that which is not visible? That is the prāṇa which keeps the body, mind, intellect, consciousness, soul, ātmā, and life in this world. This can only be realized by the science of yoga. Do not take yoga only as yoga postures or sport. It is divine, my dear. And that is what, thanks to Mahāprabhujī, to our beloved Sadguru Dev, Bhagavān Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Mahāprabhujī of Baḍīkhāṭū, Nāgaur, Rajasthan, and His great master, Śiva Svarūpa, Śrī Devpurījī of Kailāśa, Śikkar, Rajasthan, who gave this wisdom to our Sadgurudev, Swami Madhavānandjī. Thanks also to all others who inspired me to give this beautiful science of yoga in daily life. Yoga in daily life is a great presence for humankind, a great presence for this world. Lucky are they who practice systematically the science of yoga in daily life. Blessed are they who found this system to practice. Unfortunate are they, unlucky are they, though they know, but they neglect. That is our ignorance. If we are real seekers, if we have vivekā, good discrimination, if we have a good choice, definitely we will choose yoga in daily life. Yoga in daily life is universal. It is not concentrated on one side. It is great and beautiful. The entire science of the human being and the entire science of this planet—how to maintain, how to realize, how to practice—are put together in this one name called Yoga in Daily Life. There are thousands of instructors or teachers who learned for many, many years, practiced, and are blessed with this knowledge of yoga in their life. Millions of people around the world, all the teachers of yoga in their life, the great, wise ones, they have great love in the heart. They do not have dualities of culture, religion, and nationality. They work for the well-being of the entire planet. My dear brothers and sisters around the world, if you are listening for the first time, please begin to practice this. Look somewhere near the place where you are living for Yoga in Daily Life, or you can come through this webcast or internet through Yoga in Daily Life and begin to practice. There are beautiful books that explain many things about the science of the body, the prāṇa body. I already wanted to talk today about prāṇāyāma, how prāṇāyāma influences our subtle energy in the body, and the energy centers and organs in the body. This is a picture of prāṇāyāma, the prāṇa in the body, how it is functioning. So about this, in the next days we will talk more about the prāṇa-śakti. Without prāṇa, nothing will survive in this universe. And thanks to God, all is a blessing of God Śiva, who gave us this science. That is why we call them the hidden powers in a human. They are hidden within you. This Shakti is hidden within you. It is your body. It is your energy. This book is not a book. It is you. Read this book, and then you can send me questions. It is one of the best books which will give you inspiration and knowledge about chakras and kuṇḍalinī in the body of humans. They are all very beautifully designed. So look to Yoga in Daily Life. There are many books and many, many spiritual songs. The speciality of Yoga in Daily Life is this, that there is satsaṅg. Satsaṅg means gathering together and singing spiritual songs. It does not matter from which religion or which saint. Spirituality is spirituality. There are no two spiritualities. There is only one, and that we have to learn. So this is one of the best and exclusive chapters of Yoga in Daily Life, the satsaṅg. Satguru comes from Satyaloka. He brought the satsaṅg. The satsaṅg is a boat for the jīvātmā to travel to the Brahmaloka. Brahma satya, jagat mithya. That is why it is. My dear brothers, sisters, spiritual seekers, my dear ones, I wish you a very nice day. God bless you. And tomorrow, same time, I will try to be with you again. Today, I take leave from you. Śānti, śānti, śānti.
