Fasting For A Spiritual Aim
There are different kinds of fasting
with different aims. Every day of the
week is dedicated to a special God
or Goddess and according to our
devotion we can choose a special
day for the spiritual fasting. In
general is the Monday, dedicated
to Lord Shiva, and Thursday,
dedicated to the Guru, an excellent
day. Before we start any fasting,
we should know our physical condition
and we should consult first our doctor
or any Ayurvedic expert. For the
fasting we should have inner feelings
and inner dedication. We should
know when to eat, what to eat and
what not to eat. With discipline we
keep our sadhana. Discipline needs
only our decision. For everything we
have to practice. We cannot force
to achieve something. We need
humbleness, clarity, purity, our inner
feelings and love. When we lost the
love for something, then we have
lost everything.
