Guru Purnima and Independence Day Celebration at the Gurukul Ashram

True freedom is liberation from the cycle of birth and death, not merely political independence.

Human birth is a priceless diamond, never again to be obtained. The senses and desires create a powerful illusion. Political freedom was won, yet inner freedom remains elusive. The ego, the little “I,” must be slain. Like a spider caught in its own web of attachment, the soul perishes. Sleep is the shadow of ignorance—lifetimes of sorrow have passed in this slumber. Awaken, for the opportunity is slipping away. Seek the shelter of the Satguru, whose grace alone brings liberation. Cultivate self-control, discernment, and steady meditation. The Eternal Dharma is a living reality, not mere scripture. A living master is essential to guide the soul. Peace trees are planted as a symbol of harmony worldwide. Remember the great souls who sacrificed for the nation. Do not waste this precious human life. Chant the divine name and realize the Self—this is the path to true independence.

“Human birth is a priceless diamond, you will not get it again and again.”

“Sleep is the shadow of ignorance. You have suffered sorrow for lifetimes, beloved. O friend, your opportunity is passing, awaken! You are caught in the trap of illusion.”

All the Sanskrit words that live in people, that live, that breathe – to say them all, when you say Katupranam Vyajam, Sadhako Thayarho Jai, the distinguishing elements that will be shown to us in this performance with the Gurukul Yoga Sadhanas are an introduction to Yoga as a life system. Yoga as a life system was created forty years ago by Gurudev, with the complete purpose of helping the human condition in a competitive world. And because today the culture of India is also moving towards competitive goals, the importance of yoga in modern life is increasing every day. So it is a great opportunity to teach children this system that helps millions of people around the world. We have presented a portion of the first part of the yogic life, and we will conclude with Katupranam. To teach you the practice of Katupranam, I dedicate the Katupranam to my supreme master Bhagavan Sri Dip Narayan Mahaprabhuji. Gav Katu, district Nagaur, Rajasthan, is a sacred place where Sri Mahaprabhuji lived for 135 years, and it is named after him. The sadhaka should become experienced. Lead me from darkness to light, from the unreal to the real, from death to immortality. May there be well-being for all, may there be peace for all, may there be auspiciousness for all, may there be fullness for all. May all beings in the world be happy. Om, peace, peace, peace. In the next round, a Hindi jingle has been presented. Please give a big round of applause for the young girl. She has spread a wave of patriotism in the language. I would like to invite Sushri Rekha Ji Nahar to come to the stage. On the day of this incarnation and on the 67th Independence Day, please share a few words with the students. From the sacred flow of the river of grace, with gratitude from Bangalore, thank you for being with us. Everything I have seen, everything I have taught, I have done properly, properly. So we state that everything needed for everyone is prepared. This is a place for all who will form a community with the yoga and meditation center and the beautiful temple that will be created. I could not attempt the thinking and detailed planning that Swamiji creates in this place, which is a place for all, the creator of life. A home in which peace, tolerance, respect, understanding, and protection reside. A home that is built for total well-being, whether physical, social, or spiritual. This, in my mind, is a true celebration of freedom. Freedom from illiteracy, freedom from ill health, freedom from violence, freedom from a disturbed soul. Thank you, Swamiji, for this great vision and the matters you have created for humanity. Because all of this causes… Swamiji, Swamiji, because satch is independent, ashiksha is independence, and there is one life, which has one medium. At the very end, I want to say that the fifteenth of August is our Independence Day, but true independence is that which grants freedom from ignorance, freedom from disease, freedom from worry, and freedom from violence. Our Om Ashram is the symbol of that true freedom. Jai Hind, Jai Bharat. Thank you for coming. The Student Union President… Golden Girl… We present the achievements from 1993–94: when she was in 5th grade, she had the Best Girl award; when she was in 10th class, she had the Best Girl award. At Sribhagvan Mahavir Jain College, where there were 10,000 students, in 2002–2003, as the president of the student body, she took on her responsibilities. This is Rekha Nahar, who, on this occasion of 15th August, extends her best wishes to all of you and blesses you all with her words – many, many best wishes. Thank you. We are all ashramites and earning families; thank you. Welcome, as it is known. I would like to say one more thing: In this world of the Guru, we have seen humans wander; it is a common occurrence. Have you ever seen a sultan wander? For the wealth of mercy and compassion is indeed granted to the self-realized. The wealth of mercy and grace is indeed granted to the self-realized, while without knowledge, we have seen the wealthy wander in this world, we have seen the wealthy wander. Please give a strong round of applause for Babuji Maharaj, at whose holy feet we offer everything we have. In the next episode of the program, there will be a dance where the golden bird nests on every branch, presented by Sri Evam Samhu. Where the golden bird nests on every branch, that is my land, Bharat Desh. We are singing the song Vande Mataram in the program; the feeling we have is that we are singing Vande Mataram. I am echoing the pain of Mother Bharati. The essence of my sadhana should remain; even if I die, my country should remain. On this spiritual, sacred land of the Gurukul, we are celebrating the 67th Independence Day and the incarnation day of Babaji Maharaj. In the school, little boys and girls are performing dances. Where golden birds make their nests on every branch – to awaken freshness in the hearts of all. The festivals and culture in Bharat Desh are never subject to change. No matter how much you change your religion, Bhagavan will not change. The attitude of the month will change, but the day will not change; the shroud will change, but the funeral will not change. We have changed, now you change too, for India will never change, India will never change. With this sentiment, Sri Evam Samho conducted the program. In the next step, there will be patriotism: “O Mother, make us true heroes.” Sri Evam Samho, Sri Evam Samho, in whose voice we see the power of the sacrifice of the true heroes in liberating Bharat. Look at the house of the cruel executioners – you have awakened the sleeping lion; you will see a river of blood flowing. We know how to bow our heads once raised; if you try to cut off our heads, just watch out, otherwise we will cut off our own heads. See, the true hero is made by such devotion that arises from within. The light that awakens the light has been presented by Satguru Divya Chauhan and Mohit Chauhan. We are happy to announce that Madhavi Goyal Ranavas has donated 101 rupees and Sriman Jundhar Singh Ji Sahib has contributed 100 rupees for the little boys and girls. Please give a warm round of applause and kindly pay close attention. Part 2: At the Holy Feet: A Gathering of Devotion and Patriotism At the holy feet of Vishwaguru Maharaj, these young sages—boys and girls—leading all the boys and girls of the school family, have offered this prayer: that by lighting the lamp of āsana they may come to your door. Purī Jī, Svāmījī, symbol of society… When we came to your home we took a photograph there, which I would like to give to you as a gesture of mutuality. Welcome, and thank you very much for coming here. Nahar Parivār, Śrīman Sureśjī Nahar and his sons, Suśrī Rekha Nahar, represent Bābājī Mahārājī’s avatāritva, who mutually… Vishwaguru Maharaj, Śrī Caraṇ, Śrīmatī Sureśjī Nahar, Śrī Rekha Nahar—by the grace of Śrī Rāma Jī Garg Sāheb, on this auspicious occasion, may all of us students and all our Gurujīs be presented with two words of awakening as a form of the external guest mother, by Śrīman Garg Sāheb. Jai, Jai… Jai Mahāmaṇḍaleśvarī! On the divine birth anniversary of Bābājī, who came from Bengal, and Rekhā Jī and her family—devoted followers of Bābājī—you all have the opportunity to behold his image and his presence. Let us all have the darśana of the Satguru Deva today, a day of great joy and celebration. In this courtyard we are going to celebrate two festivals. One festival is related to the freedom of our nation, representing the ways that are being presented. No foreign power has ever ruled Delhi for long; many foreign forces attacked this immortal land and tried to enslave us. However, after the reign of the Mughals, Muslim rulers governed the country and considered it their homeland. But during Jahāngīr’s time a calamity occurred involving Hawkins and Sir Thomas Roe. From the perspective of a transaction, permission was sought in the name of the East India Company. And always, whenever they stop in this race, they stop—Tantia Tope, Mā Rāṇī Lakṣmībāī, Pali Pali… We introduce you, all of you who embody the freedom of freedom… To think that it is a matter of freedom, we imagined it to be a matter of freedom. Probable, probable… Mahāprabhudīpa Karatā, Mahāprabhudīpa Karatā. We represent the majority of people who are represented. We introduce you on www.youtube.com. Before that, I will introduce myself to you, that I will introduce you to… Jai Hind, Jai Bhārat. This is a spiritual lecture about Yoga in the Indian tradition. We welcome you to www.youtube.com. Subtitles created by JohnyX. www.youtube.com Hello everybody, I am Rekha Nahar, I come down from Bangalore. I thank Svāmījī for inviting us to be a part of this occasion on Indian Independence Day. This is for all our friends who are watching us live from different countries. India gained its independence on the 15th of August 1947, prior to which we were under British rule, and during that time our Mahatma was born—Mahatma Gandhi, Mohanchand Karamchand Gandhi, who gave us the path of non-violence and peace, after which in 1950 the constitution was established. Today, when you look at India, I think that over the last 65 years, now in the 66th year, when we look at our Indian Independence Day, over these 66 years India has made progress in leadership and governance, in every place, when we speak, when we speak… When today Svāmījī introduces Indian culture, whether it is morning in the West, or morning in the West—when it is morning in the West, when it is morning in the West… I would like to say that Svāmījī is a representative and an icon of society in the world. As we are all gathered here today to celebrate Indian Independence Day, I wish everyone a happy Independence Day and hope that the country advances by leaps and bounds in the years to come, achieving progress in every field we are involved in. Thank you very much. Śrīman Dīpārām Jī of Sojatvālon, Śrīman Dīpārām Jī, thank you for introducing yourself to us. After Mamatā Bhāṭiyā, you are the earth, the very earth itself, embracing the elephant and carrying the tradition. Understand the jungle, understand the divine desire. Honorable Chief Guest, Mahāmaṇḍaleśvarī Svāmī Jī, Maheśvarānandājī Purī Jī Mahārāj. All invited dignitaries, respected principal sir, teachers, and my dear brothers and sisters: 15th August is a very important day in the history of India. It is our Independence Day. Today we have freed ourselves from the chains of British rule, so it is a… Our national festival is celebrated with pomp and grandeur throughout the entire country. The main event is organized at Red Fort in Delhi, where our chairman presents our national flag and introduces the national program. March has passed, and the parade is ceremoniously celebrated. The nation also remembers the great heroes like Maharana Pratap, Bhagat Singh, Lakshmibai, Subhash Chandra Bose, Mahatma Gandhi, and many other freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives at the altar of freedom. Dear friends, 65 years have passed. The fortune of India is promising. We are progressing in every field and in every respect. In two words, progress is a purposive change. May it be scientific or moral, progress can be observed on both fronts. Dear friends, although we have achieved much, we still must continue to work hard. Still, there are thousands of evils against which we must struggle. Terrorism, female foeticide, dowry, illiteracy, and corruption are the main problems we must overcome. On this day, we should make a resolution to always be dedicated and honest in our duties and towards our nation. Now we will all say Bhārat Mātā Kī Jai. Dear friends, as we know, today is also the incarnation day of our holy Guruji, Vishwaguru, Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara, Svāmī Śrī Maheśvarānandājī Mahārāj. Thank you—he is the representative of the world’s books, the world is a person who always reveals their own things, and not reciprocity. His conclusion, Svāmījī, is the state of all human qualities and celestial personality on earth. According to Svāmījī Vivekananda, Svāmījī is the only world that is represented by the head of Hindutva and indigenous culture everywhere in the world and represents the idea of joy and brotherhood in the world. My wish for Svāmījī’s long and healthy life. Now, everyone will speak with me: Śrī Deveśvara Mahādeva Kī, Dīpanārāyaṇa Mahāprabhujī Kī, Vishwaguru Paramān Śrī Maheśvarānandājī Mahārāj Jī Kī, Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Yaśarāj Purī Jī Kī, and once again Jai Hind, Jai Bhārat. It is Amitabh Bhāṭiyā, from the village Bālikā, who introduced in English, introduced further: To dhartī roput, dhartī thārī re, sāmaj gaen evan rati, in which the lord is given, jingal evan samon, and they are making love, divine desire and samon. The earth is adorned, your earth, becoming a stage, manifesting in the form of love. Thus, existing and non-existing, discerning, intelligent, virtuous, and prosperous. Śrī Vishwaguru, Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara, Paramahaṁsa, Svāmījī Śrī Maheśvarānandabhāgānām, at the lotus feet countless, unceasing, worshipped, conceived, established, the best of intellect. To the guest, the chief teacher, the venerable one, I offer my respectful obeisance. I bow with reverence to the teachers, both male and female. I extend my love to the younger sisters and brothers on this auspicious occasion of Independence Day. Svaṁ svaṁ caritraṁ śikṣayen pratīvīyaṁ sarva mānavaḥ। Bhāratavarṣe’smākaṁ janmabhūmiha Bhāratavarṣaścāsmākaṁ deśaḥ। Svadeśasya kṛte sarveṣāṁ hṛdaye sanmānam ādarśca bhavatāḥ। Ādhyātve saṁsāre sarve deśāḥ svadeśasya unnati sādhane salagnāsanti। Te svābhimāne etadvadanti yadvayaṁ etaddeśyāsmaḥ॥ In this entire world, the land of Bhārat is especially sweet. Wherever a person is born, that place is their birthland. The birthland of a person is always a vessel of reverence for all the gods. Wherever a person goes, the birthland is always remembered with longing and affection. Therefore, the motherland arises, and from the land of birth you will even surpass heaven. The elevation of the land, the feeling of devotion to the land, becomes a great attachment. It is only through the feeling of devotion to the land that a person strives for the elevation of the land, opening the door to honor, even if uneducated. Education uplifts, eradicates the poverty and scarcity of the land, promotes the progress of indigenous trade, and utilizes locally made goods appropriately. Indeed, even prāṇa abandons the body to protect the motherland. When in all countries and lands such feelings arise, then the country progresses, advances, and flourishes. In such a homeland, there is always pride and love for the country. There is a spirit of patriotism and devotion to the land. Patriotism alone leads to progress and prosperity. Victory to Sanskrit! Victory to Bhārat! The glory of Sanskrit endures. The marriage of vāsa in Sanskrit, the marriage of vāsa in Sanskrit… Paramahaṁsa Svāmī Śrī Miśrānanda Purī Jī Mahārāj requests the students to turn their faces towards Kṛpyābhaujī and keep their hearts peaceful, maintaining peace, peace. Śrī Śrī 1008 Śrī Viśva Śānti Agradūta Vishwaguru Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Paramahaṁsa Svāmī Śrī Miśrānanda Purī Jī Mahārāj. On this sacred occasion today, we are all giving blessings to all the students, to all the teachers, to all the elders, to all the younger ones. Please come forward to the stage, excuse me, sit towards Bābujī’s side in the āśrama, and maintain complete peace. Hail to Deveśvara Mahādeva, Dīpa Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān, Indu Dharma Samrāṭ, Satguru Svāmījī Mādhavānandājī Bhagavān, Satya Sanātana Dharma, the thousand sages and seers, and the souls; Victory to Bhārat Mātā, Victory to Bhārat Mātā… Victory to Gau Mātā, Victory to Gau Mātā… The Supreme Brahman, the Paramātmā residing in every heart, I offer my respectful salutations. At the auspicious lotus feet of Śrī Gurudev, with utmost humility, I bow down with full prostration. To the propagator of Om Śrī Viśvadeepa Gurukul Vidyālay, Śrī Sītārām Jī, all revered Gurujans, students, and all dear ones present here. Beloved Ātmapriya Śrī Nar Sāheb, Aruṇa Kiśoraputrī Rekhā Āśram resident, karmayogī, servant, selfless servant—today is a day of great pride for us, O radiant Gurudev. Svāmījī Mādhavānandajī Bhagavān said, I bow to the land of Bhāratavarṣa, where… When one attains the vision of the Satguru, the self-realized ones are met, and there is no other land like it. Rishis, munis, all peaceful beings, perform the worship of Bhārat. Without Bhārat, the illumination of the self as Brahman is not found. Revered Bhagavān Dīpa Nārāyaṇa, the giver of the supreme Brahman teachings, the blissful source of joy, resides in Bhārat. In the entire world, if anyone calls their land mother, it is Bhārat. And there is only one great playing field, and that is Bhārat Mātā. In no other country is the land called mother; rather, it is said that our motherland belongs to that country. So, in reality, Bhārat Mātā, this divine land, is where the 24 incarnations of Bhagavān have taken place, the Ananta Ṛṣi. The incarnation of Munis has taken place here, and only here can peace, dharma, and self-knowledge be attained. Āśrama, Strilky, Kumbha Melā, Jaḍān, Om Śrī Alakh Purī Jī, Siddha Pīṭha Paramparā, Vishwaguru Jī, Siddha Karatā Prabhu, Dīpa Karatā Mahāprabhudīpa Karatā He Kevalam. Jinone dvaita vāda mita karke, a dvaita vāda punaḥ sāre viśva meṁ sab sthāpit kiyā. Our Gurudev always used to say, “One in all and all in one.” All beings of creation are my own soul, and the soul itself is the Paramātmā. Therefore, our sages and seers have again said: sarve bhavantu sukhinaḥ—may everyone be happy, and may no one suffer in the entire universe. Just as the knowledge of our rishis and sages leads us from asato mā sadgamaya—lead us from unreality to reality; tamaso mā jyotirgamaya—lead us from darkness to light; mṛtyor mā amṛtaṁ gamaya—lead us from mortality to immortality. But from time to time there were certain elements, because it is said, daivī śakti and āsurī śakti, which both operate simultaneously. Devatā and asura, they are sons of the same father, but within them are different āsurī śaktis and strange śaktis. So the āsurī śakti, the dark forces, often want to attack sanātana dharma, but no one can erase the world. Truth alone triumphs. No one ever thought that we would erase this culture, erase this country, but darkness can never overcome the light. The truth is, unfortunately, that even in Bhārat, peace is gradually disappearing day by day. There are many so-called forms of peace, but the peace that truly exists within is not there. Gurudev used to say that peace and bliss arise from satsaṅga; if you wish to attain the peace and divine bliss of ātmajñāna, self-realization comes only through satsaṅga. I can become very serious when I see all our teachers… Introduce yourselves at www.hradeckralove.org Olympics in London. Olympia, where it will be, in Brazil, in this Olympia, will find out how to find out how… Find out, Arjuna, practice that. Students are studying, some also misbehave, but keep in mind that the education you are receiving is tapasyā, and in the future it will become a blessing for you, for your family, for the country, and for the entire world. Part 3: Meditation, Peace Trees, and the Eternal Dharma: An Address on India’s Independence Day So meditate in such a way that I too become virtuous, and protect the environment of the nation and society. Say, “Bol Bhārat Mātā Kī?” I have been told that for the past thirty years, wherever I have gone in any country, I plant a peace tree in the capital or a major city there. So far we have planted sixty trees. Recently I was in the Netherlands. Five trees of peace, five trees carrying peace, were planted in beautiful gardens there together with the government just one month ago. The government of Pakistan and the government of Brazil, together with many others, planted a peace tree for the very first time in the courtyard of the United Nations. So many people were present—thirty thousand members of NGOs, fifty‑one thousand representatives from one hundred and eighty countries’ governments, twenty‑seven thousand security forces, of whom seventeen thousand were in uniform and the other ten thousand in civilian dress, along with about ten to twelve thousand volunteer service members. It was such a large gathering, but when we planted peace trees it all became media‑worthy. We have planted about sixty‑five thousand trees in Dakṣiṇ Australia. But my name is Swami Maheshwaranand, and I have come to offer a solution to the problem, for I have seen our rainwater harvesting. So today during the ārtī I will show you a film about it. Our “Yoga in Daily Life” is recognized by the United Nations as an NGO. It is important to know that the Śrī Svāmī Madhavānanda World Peace Council is represented in the Saṃyuktarāṣṭra and holds special consultative status, where its delegates are present in certain sabhās; it is presented there as a horizon. However, Western culture is trying to erase such sacred traditions and attacks those of us who are working in the West, looking for opportunities to eliminate them. We must resolve that no matter what happens, we will stand firm against those who come before us with arrogance. He will lower his head and show it. Or should we not? No, we must not… we must not. Thank you for introducing yourselves to us. Thank you all for coming. If we consider ourselves as belonging to Bhārat, then it is no problem. If someone says it cannot be done, then I say it can be done. My greatness is not in my clothes but in my skin. Only with this kind of steadfast spirit will our culture be preserved, and our education as well. So learn to speak much more playfully, and to say much more playfully in playfulness. When you make a phone call you say, “1, 2, 3.” Yes, who is this? Is there anyone else calling? They say that 1, 2, 3 is a proposal. Who is it? 1, 2, 3. 1 is the earth, 2 is you, 3 is Madhav Puri. When you go, come back into the earth. 1, 2, 3. There is no country that does not honor its own name. The national language is Hindi as well; we have thirty‑five languages, but why should we forget that divine language, the language of the gods? Therefore, learn to write in Hindi: 1, 2, 3, 4, and so on. To Divīśvara Mahādeva kī, Dīpa Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān kī, Indvodhāram Samrāṭ Satguru Svāmījī Madhavānandajī Bhagavān kī, Satya Sanātana Dharma kī, Sarvarṣi Munim Ātmāoṅkī, Bhārat Mātā Kī, Bhārat Mātā Kī… Gau Mātā Kī, Gau Mātā Kī, Jai Jai… Our beloved Om Śrī Viśvadīp Guru Kul Vidyālaya’s preacher Śrī Sītārām Jī, respected gurujans, students, and all dear friends gathered here, our beloved Śrī Nar Saab and his virtuous daughter Rekha, the āśram resident, karmayogī, servant, and selfless servant—today… The day, our day of pride, is the day of our Rāḍī Gurudev. Svāmījī Madhavānandajī, Bhagavān said, “I bow to Bhārat, the land of the mountains, where the Satguru is seen, where the self‑realized ones are found, and there is no other country like it. Ṛṣis, munis, all peaceful beings, uphold the honor of Bhārat; without Bhārat…” Beloved Nāhī, Ātmā Brahma Prakāśa, Śrīpūjya Bhagavān Dīpa Nārāyaṇa, denā Brahma Upadeśa, Śrīmadhva Ānandāya Ānandabhaya Pāya Bhārat Deśa. In the whole world, there is no country that calls its land mother; the only great country that does so is Bhārat Mātā. And in no other country is the land called “mother” in a derogatory way; rather, it is said that our motherland belongs to that country. So in reality, Bhārat Mātā, this divine land, is where the twenty‑four incarnations of Bhagavān have taken place, and where infinite ṛṣis and munis have incarnated. Only through this can śānti, dharma, or ātma‑jñāna be attained. In truth, the entire universe is ours, because our ṛṣis and munis proclaimed: Vasudhaiva Kuṭumbakam. This does not teach duality, but unity through advaita vāda. The true Yogī is the one who, by transcending the duality of ātmā and paramātmā, establishes the realization of advaita; that alone is the true Yogī. Our original Bhagavān Śaṅkarācārya, who dispelled the doctrine of duality, once again opened the nine gates, and the sound was released into the void. My Gurudev always used to say: one in all and all in one. All beings of creation are my own soul, and the soul itself is the Paramātmā. That is why our sages and seers have said: sarve bhavantu sukhinaḥ. May everyone be happy, and may no one be sorrowful in the entire universe. Just as the knowledge of our ṛṣis and sages leads us: asato mā sad gamaya, tamaso mā jyotir gamaya, mṛtyor mā amṛtaṃ gamaya. Lead us from unreality to reality, from darkness to light, from mortality to immortality. But from time to time there have been some elements… because it is said that daivī śakti and āsurī śakti both operate simultaneously. Devatā and asura are sons of the same father. But within them there are different āsurī śaktis and strange śaktis. So the āsurī śakti, the dark forces, often want to attack sanātana dharma, but no one can destroy this world. Truth alone triumphs. And the wise never thought that we would erase this culture, erase this country, but darkness can never overcome the light. This eternal dharma alone is the truth. Within every drop of the blood of the people of Bhārat, that eternal power is infused. The whole world is seeking peace, and you also desire it, but the unfortunate truth is this: someone did not know that in Bhārat, śānti is still being combined with krodha… Gurudev says that morning after morning, the significance of satsaṅga is that if we wished to receive it, morning after morning… In the morning, Anusār Śikṣā is received. Our students wear the attire of Pītāmbara, like Bhagavān Kṛṣṇa, with a tilak on the forehead and a small mark, as do our gurujan, because it is for the students that… If you wear such clothes and merely pass your life, then what do we call living? There are two states of living: either standing or lying down. Siddhi cannot be achieved by just sitting. So, within our culture, the education received in the gurukul is very good; you should embrace it fully. You were just told that one of our disciples has just won the gold medal in Olympia, London. One of our disciples from Slovenia swam across the Amazon River in Brazil and also won a gold medal. And one of our disciples from the Hawaiian Islands, about eighteen years ago, also won a gold medal in marathon running there. It is a matter of great pride. Bhārat is such a vast and immense universe, a continent. Nearly every small country has been awarded medals, some even four or more hanging around their necks, while the people of Bhārat watch and think, “Yes, they got one, and that one got one too.” Later a slightly shiny silver was given. How unfortunate it is today, on this day of 15 August, that what we call freedom here, what we call democracy, is still not being practiced. Our good players here are not getting the facilities, they are not getting the money, they are not getting the… They have the ability, but they lack the means and the right tools through which they can achieve something. Thank you for introducing yourselves. I sent him to Olympia; what will he bring back? Those who are artists, those who are players, they practice for fifteen hours a day; what kind of practice do they do? Only then do they win gold. Now look at their practice—go and see what facilities their government is providing them. I simply don’t understand what this obsession with cricket is. Cricket is neither here nor there, it might be too late, but you have brought the golden sound of the divine. You haven’t brought any gift, yet you say, “What have you done in cricket? What have you done?” I don’t even know its name. And cricket has not even been recognized in the Olympics, so I request all the listeners. Hello, thank you for introducing yourselves. Introduce yourselves on our channel, where you can watch our channel. Everything, everything… It seems that in Germany, in Germany… To present the report, which was to present the report, which was… to present the report. There were many people: members of thirty thousand NGOs, representatives of governments from fifty‑one thousand one hundred and eighty countries, twenty‑seven thousand security personnel, of whom seventeen thousand were in uniform and the other ten thousand in civilian dress, plus about ten to twelve thousand volunteers—it was quite a large undertaking. But when we created the śānti vṛkṣa, all of this became known in the media. We do something and show it; for example, we have created sixty‑five billion vṛkṣa in Dakṣiṇ Australia, which manifested as a wooden woman, and perhaps sixty‑five billion vṛkṣa were created in Dakṣiṇ Australia, and all these things we have seen, all these things we have seen… “Yoga in Daily Life” is recognized by the United Nations as an NGO. To know and be glad that the Śrī Svāmī Madhavānanda World Peace Council is in the Saṃyuktarāṣṭra and they have special statuses, in which it is known… it is known. Bahuta phirā. Bahuta phirā. But it is not that easy. You see, Svāmījī enjoys himself abroad. Not so much, my child. It also costs a great deal of money. If I were to tell you, one year’s expenses amount to at least three hundred and fifty to four hundred thousand rupees. I provide it; they come when called. But I do keep the record. Some accept our culture, some do not; some accept our dharma, some do not. Throughout the entire world, the dharma yuddha is still ongoing; it has not yet ended. Kurukshetra, the dharma field—whatever the state of Kurukshetra, the dharma field—the war has not yet concluded. One follower of a religion wants to bring down another; they are attacking. Such irreligiosity is flourishing, aiming to erase the culture of the West, and they attack those of us who are working in the West. They are looking for an opportunity to see how to destroy them. So we must take the resolve that no matter what happens, we will… The one who comes before us with head held high, we will show them by bowing our heads. Or should we not? No, we must not… we must not. Thank you for introducing yourselves. Thank you for coming. But if we consider ourselves as belonging to Bhārat, then it is no problem. If someone says it cannot be done, then I say it can be done. My pride is not in my clothes but in my skin. Only with this kind of strong determination will our culture be preserved, our education as well. That is why you should embrace Hindi as much as possible. Learn to speak to me, and often write in Hindi. The phone tells me, “1, 2, 3.” And that’s it. Who plays which instrument, and who performs the dance? Ah yes, dha, there are those who say “1, 2, 3,” numbers, dha and then again, say “1, 2, 1”—that is jangad, and two is, no, three, ro, ma, do, fri, when, jai, ro, fri, ro, in jangad. Oh, who, child. There is no country, name, or place where one does not honor one’s own language first. Whatever other country it may be, every country has its own system, and it is written in the constitution that first our language will be spoken, our language will be taught. Even the ruler of the road speaks English, but if he goes to meet someone at the office or if they come, he will speak in their language; otherwise he will remain bilingual. In our conversation, English is also the language, the language of the mind, the national language. Introduce yourself at www.hradeckralove.org. Practice was done afterwards, but the blessings came immediately, in just one night. Such are the great gurus; as soon as they give blessings, knowledge manifests within you. We are committed to the undivided Bhārat, our Sanskrit, and the protection of our country, and blessings to all of you. It has been a long time, and I wish you all the best. And happiness on the 15th of August, the day of the nation; this is the sixty‑sixth, and I am glad to be with you all. We all know that freedom is not better. If that freedom had been important for decades—how many people lost their lives, how many children lost their lives, how many children lost their masters, their lords, how many children lost the world—but where there is a will, there is a way. They enlightened all our great leaders from this land. They were fighting to achieve freedom—physical, mental, social, and cultural—but in which direction are we heading? It is the same for India. And those great men who shed their blood to liberate India, if they come and see us, will we be able to show our faces? Introducing consciousness that introduces itself, when it introduces itself, when it introduces itself. Just one thing, to pause my speech for your benefit, for the 15th of August. And only when there is prasād—our devotee, Śrī Dīparām Jī, through his sincerity, grants prasād; it is from him. The seat is fixed there; I was the one preparing it—halvā purī, bāṇu is very good. Bābji 15 August, eat laḍḍū quickly, just take a few laḍḍūs, and see, someone might take a bicycle. Big heart, work big. Brother, take laḍḍūs, then we too will do some work, we too will eat something from somewhere. To Āśrīvād, Dīparām Jī Āśrīvād, the principal sāhab, heartfelt greetings, thank you, and to all my dear bhaktas here and around the world, I wish you all the best and a happy 15th of August. God bless you, om śāntiḥ, śāntiḥ, śāntiḥ. The concept of Vataṇdharma represents ways… represents ways… represents ways. Lenā, the dry season is good. And now, regarding the other matter: near the hospital we will plant a peace tree. Wherever you are present, let that place become a part of it by planting the peace tree on the occasion of 15th August. It is a very auspicious thing. Regarding blood donation, Dr. Śānti asked me to announce that a blood donation camp is being held at our hospital, in the name of Śrī Dīpa Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān, Śrī Śrī Deva Purīśa Mahādeva, Dharma Samrāṭ Satguru Svāmījī Madhavānandajī Bhagavān, and Satya Sanātana Dharma. Victory to Parampitā Paramātmā’s grace, and to all the disciples and devotees of Gurudev. People, today is indeed a very auspicious day; thank you for introducing yourselves. We present to you that all of us, all of us… What has been attained is easier—for whom? For us, for India, for the citizens of India, and for the society to come. We are grateful to them, and the cooperation we had, we have also made it a part of our life, keeping Bhārat as Bhārat. Thank you for coming to visit… Presenting oneself, pretending, doing… doing oneself. The matter of other nations or people from different parts of the world causes the presentation of homeland. It was not just a matter of Bhārata, Hindusthāna, which we now call India, but many nations around the world were meant to be difficult, just as many still are. But according to those great players, all the enlightened ones, all the worldly ones who shot themselves into solitude—that means to regain our levels and our position. So we have recreated the republic, we have received it, we have made it, and we are enlightened. Many, many nations—not only Bhārat. One of the subjects in Austria is named Mr. Krajski, Bruno Krajski. There is no object; there are objects and objects. When Indira Gandhi visited Austria, her last knowledge was that I was there as well, and I had the opportunity to meet various dignitaries. The Czech chairman of Brno Krajský was a great politician who came to the main place in Vienna and Austria. Krajski said that India is such a vast country that it is difficult, or perhaps impossible, for it to be truly democratic. Part 4: The True Freedom: Awakening from the Illusion of Life This land represents the nations and the realms of politicians, where millions of people, vast countries, numerous languages, and a multitude of cultures and religions share the same platform and freedom, enjoying democracy. We say that now we live in a free Bhārata, we can do whatever we want. Every path will be heard, every way of knowing will be respected, and everyone has the freedom to do what they wish—of course, in a positive way. Teachings, cultures, religions, languages, all gravitate towards what is called democracy, and according to what is often said, the Unification Government. More than 80% of the ways of human probability, according to the Upaniṣads and our Indian granthārśī scholars, Bhārata has always been great and significant. Now it was the best matter for freedom. It was not better. When someone has strength in their hands, they do not want to let go of that strength. And that strength maintains that a person is free—one who mutually uses strength. A person is ready to have strength, but not ready to maintain it. Yet that is where freedom lies. Sometimes one endured. There was much freedom there. Many people were lost, but they still had only one path to attain freedom: freedom, freedom… freedom. Several lives, many, many lives. It is the activity of a human being that we do not concentrate on enough; we are not aware of our goals and the objectives of our actions. Matters in this modern world, and also in the case at hand, are very powerful. Rare are those who have understood in their heart, mind, and soul what liberation from the suffering of the 8.4 million life cycles truly means. Finally, we are the blessed ones who have received a human life. This is speech, sound, taste, touch, form, smell, essence, and intelligence. O human, enjoying the opportunity, the five senses are also very expert. When you concentrate and have only that, it is the very best difference between humans and the five. This is an opportunity, this is an opportunity. Visiting Satgurudev, Śrī Svāmī Madhavānandjī said that this human life will never come to you again. Human birth is a priceless diamond, never to be found again and again. Human life is a very precious race, but be sure that you will never get it again. Those who believe in what it means will call all goals what they call goals—goals that are created according to themselves. We must look at the principle of śam and dam, endure from the eastern world, also like doing, doing… Then you will believe that you are the Self, and not before. So, that is to say, do not present the day too quickly. Mahāprabhujī says: “O my mind, go swiftly. We must rise to the highest peak of our goal, Brahmaloka.” It is very simple when we do not delude ourselves or believe in nonsense—unbelievable goals and thoughts. Above all, we can create ourselves. One of the players plays beautifully. The mālā is dissolved, because of which memories remain memories. Only two days when you were alone, no one knows where they slipped away. That means your spirituality, your work, the hard work you have done, we can never undo. Of course, my grateful ones, today, on this special, now momentous day, the 15th of August, on which we reflect—and many countries will also have their own national holidays, observance days, a few days before or after—do not forget these great players in your land, do not forget their hard work. They did not care about hearing, about food, about opportunity; they were like lords of the realm. He says that the Lord from his own lands always wanted to create a happy life for the workers, the workers… The Second World War: how many millions of people were suffering, with nothing to eat, nothing to wear. The soldiers stood in the snow, without proper shoes, without warm clothes, putting newspapers under their shirts to keep their bodies warm. Have you forgotten those heroes and great souls of our land? What are we doing now? What was the dream of Mahātmā Gandhi? What was before, before… God exists, but that money will not accompany you. As the Americans think, the Americans say: when the last tree is cut down and the last bird dies, O people, then you will realize that you cannot eat your dollars. Of course, all the glitter and sparkle will fade away; whatever you think is your life, whatever you want to enjoy, this and that, all of it will remain here. You must understand again so that the next life is free, so that it is free. So remember, check yourself, your goals, your matters, look into your heart, for everything, everything… everything. So when you remember, you think: I am a human being; when you think I am a human being, what happens to me as a human, and what is the dharma of a human, and how to attain such qualities of a human. I think we know that we are human, we have human weaknesses, but that is why we have Satgurus here, we have great guides, the great saints. Sanātana Dharma is a living dharma. Only the book cannot give you that answer, the book cannot give you that contentment. We need a living person who can understand our situations, support us, and speak. Because paramparā, the tradition of the guru and the representatives, is immortal. All hearts and gods: Bhagavān Rāma and His devotees like Hanumān, Bhagavān Kṛṣṇa and His devotees like Arjuna, the guru and representative, Jesus—who are gurus and representatives. When you hear the saying “Mástra,” what does it mean? Who is Másta? It is not said by God. So we must look at our hearing, the work, and the ways of those great people and great souls. And we are surprised at our own ignorance. Our ignorance owns this race that is upon your body. Now it is important for you to have freedom. Yes, Bhārata had freedom, but, O Indians, you do not have freedom in the world. We are prepared with such important matters and goals, this and that. So, my gratitude to you: I wish freedom to be believed throughout the world—Blessed Mother India—and I pray for the Indian dharma, culture, traditions, nature, and people, and wish you all the best. We have attained freedom, but we have not utilized it. We are not utilizing it. Leaving amṛta, we drink poison. We got a cup of nectar, but we are going to drink the poison. Do you know what understanding those great beings had when the idea of wanting to be free was presented to them? This was nectar, this was samudramanthana, the churning of the milky ocean. And from the 14 openings came nectar. But how was the nectar created? Everyone wanted to have it, and that canceled it out. Of course, we have this nectar of freedom, which we use a lot, but mostly it drains us. And that is harmful. On this day, I wish to Lord Mahāprabhujī that all and the entire world be cared for, as well as all those great hearts and players from different parts of the world. My dear ones, believe in yourselves and attain liberation from this illusionary entanglement, the 8.4 million different creative forces that bind life. Do you know what liberation was? What was liberation? There was one occasion during the Second World War. Someone was lost in the snow for months. It was a Christian day. He was injured. He just stood there in the snow. And the Christian day. In the body, the whole family sits together. He thinks: where is my family, where is my home? That was in those lands called Slovakia or Yugoslavia. And it was that he was written into God and written in His name: “Gde Domum Oe.” And they had in the name “Gde Domum Oe”—where is my home?—and he believes that he would like to have his average home, why he is accustomed to it. So we are surprised by our ignorance, opportunities, irresponsibility, anger, jealousy, hatred, and ego, that the “I,” the ego, had to be killed. Great Swāmī Śivānandjī of Ṛṣikeśa said: “Within you is the ocean of bliss and within you is a fountain of joy. Within you is the immortal Ātman. Kill this little ‘I’ and lead the divine life.” I, I, my, I—this is a problem. My desires, my freedom, my rest, my peace, my life—these will once again lead you into darkness after some years. Therefore, Gurujī said in a beautiful bhajana: “Sleep is the shadow of ignorance, your sleep is ignorance. You have suffered sorrow for lifetimes, beloved, lifetimes of sorrow you have endured. O friend, your opportunity is passing, awaken, awaken! You are caught in the trap of illusion, beloved, caught in the trap of illusion. Why, when the spider dies, does it get burned? Why, when the spider dies, does it get burned? You go, your opportunity passes away when you get burned; the feet of the Satguru are dearer than siddhis. Brother, awaken, your opportunity is passing by, brother, awaken.” Satguru Swāmījī Mādhvānandajī, Bhagavān Dīpa Nārāyaṇa, Bhagavān’s Indian rāga and European opera follow a slightly different path. Brothers and sisters, wake up, your opportunity is passing by! Your path follows the way that is the life of a person. Why would a spider die caught in the web of moha? Sleep comes and goes in ignorance. You serve in the service of ignorance. What will happen? You nurture many lives through countless births and sufferings. For a momentary pleasure, just for some minutes or seconds of happiness, you have to suffer and struggle through many, many lives. Believe it or not, those are the words of our Satguru Deva. Criticism is ignorance; it brings suffering through countless lifetimes. Gurujī used to say: this jīvātman has been sleeping for many, many lives. O mind, now is not the time to sleep. O my mind, tell the jīvātman: now is not the time for sleeping; if you do, you will miss your chance—meaning you will miss your train, you will miss your airplane, like a lost opportunity. In the snare of moha-jāla, even if you awaken from ignorance, you suddenly find yourself entangled again in your moha-jāla. There is measure, measure… the spider dies, the spider dies… the spider dies. For the sake of the ego, for one’s own sake, for one’s own desires. But one day that spider remains trapped in the very net woven from its own moha and will perish there. O those who are drowned in the illusion of attachment will perish; renunciation, renunciation is difficult. If you practice renunciation, your fortune will open; otherwise, your misfortune. Therefore, Gurujī used to say: enter the kingdom of the Lord through the gate of sacrifice. What to sacrifice—not your money, your house, or such things, but your inner feelings. These are always rising up, always bubbling up, like volcanoes sometimes. Dama, śama, or dama. Satguru śaraṇa siddhāna pyāre, may your life be successful. Seek the shelter of the Satguru Deva, that your life will be successful. Manuṣya janma amolaka hīrā, bāra bāra nahīṃ pāī. This human life is a precious diamond you will not get again and again. Śrī Prabhujī Bhagavān Dīpa Nārāyaṇa, Dīna Haṃsa Cetai. Gurujī says, Bhagavān Dīpa Nārāyaṇa Mahāprabhujī, call my inner Svāno, call this jīvātman from ignorance. When you remember, you are like the essence of remembrance itself, not like the blacksmith. When Svāno remembers, he has his own free remembrance. It seems that the mind remembers and remembers and remembers… and Hello shines, shines… So, Śrī Prabhujī Bhagavān Dīpa Nārāyaṇa Dīna Haṃsa Cetai—Haṃsa, Paramahaṃsa, Ātman, as awakened. Gurujī says, thank you, listen. Citta Lagāī, Swāmījī Mādhvānanda says, listen, all Citta Lagāī—citta means consciousness. Listen, concentrate, and work. Work, work, work. I wish you all the best, and we shall see when we meet again, when we meet again. And some bhaktas are waiting in other parts of the world, so I must go to them. Tonight I must know many countries, so I will see where my haṃsa is, as a bird. It comes out from here, and it goes from here, and it comes out from here, and it comes out from here. Whenever I pause my speech, I wish you all a good morning and a good day, along with my respects and congratulations. All the best, may you be blessed by Bhagavān Śrī Dīpa Nārāyaṇa, Mahāprabhujī, Devapurījī, and Gurudeva. Try to gain independent insight. This was the main point. It is not easy; sometimes we think, “Now I am free, I can do whatever I want, this is my life,” and then a natural crisis comes, things go wrong again—I have not filtered anything, I wanted to do it, these crises, these crises, these crises create crisis. But those who are clear and recite the mantra, meditate, and practice kriyās, their mind is always very clear, content, satisfied, and steady… All quantity of quantity… We are all servants devoted to the refuge of the Lord. We are all devotees devoted to the refuge of the Lord. Om Namo Śrī Prabhu Dīpa Nārāyaṇam. Om Namo Śrī Prabhu Dīpa Nārāyaṇam. We are all servants devoted to the refuge of the Lord. We are all servants devoted to the refuge of the Lord. Om Namaḥ Śrī Prabhu Dīpa Nārāyaṇa Namaḥ. Om Namaḥ Śrī Prabhu Dīpa. We are devotees devoted to the refuge of the Lord. We are devotees devoted to the refuge of the Lord. Om Namaḥ Śrī Prabhu Dīpa Nārāyaṇāya Namaḥ. Śrī Dīpa Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān, Devapurīṣa Mahādeva, Satguru Swāmījī Mādhvānandajī Bhagavān. Satī Sanātana Dharma, Bhārata Mātā Kī Jaya Ho. Maybe just one short word on my own behalf. Just a few words from my side. Swāmījī made a joke again today—O Gajānand himself. Swāmījī is encouraging this with, “O Gajānandjī, personally.” He has been doing this for at least fifteen, maybe twenty years. He has been doing this for fifteen, twenty years already. And when the guru says something so astonishing, there must be something within him. And I think I got a sense of the shots in the Western week. Because at school I learned the Latin language. Person, the German word Person, actually comes from the Latin personare. The German word “Person” comes from the Latin “persona,” which in turn derives from “personālis.” Per means through. It simply means through. And sonāre means to sound, to make a sound. Nāre, indeed sound, to produce sound. That means sound goes through. It’s just that the sound passes through. Like a flute. Applause, applause… The one who creates the sound, and through whom it flows. I guess I have to become a person—that the Divine can simply flow through. Nāham Karatā. So that the Divine cakra may flow through me. Nāham Karatā. Śrī Dīpa Nārāyaṇa Kī Jaya. The yogī will sing… Hṛdaya Aikamaljī, would you like to say something? Yes, please. Yes. I don’t know, there is some commonality here, we know one, but is there another one here as well? We will introduce that yogī. And we also have an idea from some of our yoga brothers and sisters that they have a friend who is not a representative of Swāmījī in Germany, who today has cancer and today, they say, will be the last day when we can present our presentation in this direction. His name is Thomas. Can someone create a blackboard here for Hṛdaya Kānadjī? No, I would create it the best. Before Hṛdaya Kānadjī begins, I would like to say one small thing. Earlier, we spoke about how Swāmījī often shapes you into various matters or does things that you normally wouldn’t know you would do. It tests us, that the kito kivíz reaches all the way to our boundaries, has some relevance to Gajānandjī’s bhajana. This is connected to Gajānandjī bhajana. I remember very well when Gajānandjī wrote that bhajana. And what he was doing at that time. We all know Gajānandjī so well. He’s from Hamburg. Běl is from Hamburg. And I think what he was doing at that time he had not done before in Germany, because I remember very well when he came to explain the situation when he started to write the bhajana. He said he was, at the time, driving the tractor and watering the trees. Hello, hello… I remember when Gajānandjī told me that he learned that carrots grow in the ground when he came to Jadan. So I’m sure that driving a tractor and watering the trees wasn’t at the top of Gajānandjī’s ideas of what he would do when he went to Holy India to do yoga. But you see, you never know where inspiration will not be, or when inspiration will come. Śrī Dīpa Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān.
