Satsang with Swamiji, Maha Kumbha Mela
The nectar of immortality is found only in the grace and wisdom of the Guru.
Nectar grants immortality. This sweetness exists in the words and blessings of great beings. The supreme nectar is an endless ocean, the source of all light. The root of all devotion and knowledge is singular: the Guru. Therefore, only the Guru's grace is the means. Fragmented devotion is ineffective. A story illustrates this: Lord Shiva and Parvati encounter a yogi cooking on a funeral pyre. Parvati laments that Shiva does not provide for his devotee. Shiva explains the yogi desires nothing. Shiva offers a boon, but the yogi only asks for Shiva to leave and not disturb his peace. Such a yogi, absorbed in the divine, represents the highest principle. If you meditate on the one root, you gain everything. We are blessed to be at this sacred confluence of rivers, free from worldly worries in the divine lap of grace.
"Hold on to one. If you give the water in the roots, the entire tree will get water immediately."
"Guru kṛpā hi kevalam. And the happiness of the disciple is Maṅgalam."
