Satsang with Swamiji, Maha Kumbha Mela

The nectar of immortality is found only in the grace and wisdom of the Guru.

Nectar grants immortality. This sweetness exists in the words and blessings of great beings. The supreme nectar is an endless ocean, the source of all light. The root of all devotion and knowledge is singular: the Guru. Therefore, only the Guru's grace is the means. Fragmented devotion is ineffective. A story illustrates this: Lord Shiva and Parvati encounter a yogi cooking on a funeral pyre. Parvati laments that Shiva does not provide for his devotee. Shiva explains the yogi desires nothing. Shiva offers a boon, but the yogi only asks for Shiva to leave and not disturb his peace. Such a yogi, absorbed in the divine, represents the highest principle. If you meditate on the one root, you gain everything. We are blessed to be at this sacred confluence of rivers, free from worldly worries in the divine lap of grace.

"Hold on to one. If you give the water in the roots, the entire tree will get water immediately."

"Guru kṛpā hi kevalam. And the happiness of the disciple is Maṅgalam."

This is Swāmī Madhūrpurī Jī, born and raised in Slovakia, two countries together. And at present, in New Zealand, all the ashrams that are there, they take care of the ashram. Very good. And right now, his sanyās dīkṣā took place. How many days? It’s been a week since his sannyāsa dīkṣā took place. Congratulations, Mr. Chaudhary, wear the garland of Mādhavrapurī. You have to wear a veil, right? That’s why I have taken your name. Thank you. Well, welcome to the whole Bharat. The blessing is coming to you from Prayāgrāj, Tīrtha Prayāgrāj, the bank of three rivers, Yamunā, Gaṅgā, and Sarasvatī, to all the dear brothers and sisters, spiritual seekers around the world and here. Send you the blessing of Mother Gaṅgā and Satguru Dev. We are sitting here, and in ancient times, in the histories, the mythology is saying that once here had been raining or dropping the nectar. The question is this: Who has seen that? Who got that nectar, and who didn’t get it? Or who is still searching, and who will get it? Nectar means amṛta. There are different kinds of amṛta: pañca amṛta, caraṇa amṛta, vacana amṛta, jñāna amṛta, etc., etc. But it is said that Amṛta is that one. One Mahātmā said, "Amar ho jisko khāne se mithāī ho to aisī ho. Phatade man vishyo se khatai ho to aisi ho. Aur uske Kuber bhi hajir, fir bhi bhikṣā se din gujarate hai, lā parvāī ho to aisī ho." Also, Amṛtā means sweet. So that sweetness is that amṛta; when you eat that, drink that, you become immortal. So that amṛta is in the wisdom, in the blessing, in the words of the great saints. There is a big difference between kīrtan and bhajan. That amṛta which is, which upon drinking one becomes immortal, that sweetness which upon eating one becomes immortal, that sweetness is, the supreme amṛta, that is in the words of Śrī Gurudeva and the great beings, in their blessings, and in their satsaṅg, that amṛta, just now you... Amṛt kī bunde wo behad varse, behad, uskā koī ant nahī hai. Isi liye Gurudev kaita hai ki Prakāś punya amṛta ke sāgara. Gurudev kaun hai? Prakāśa puṇya. Yani jahā sampūrṇa brahmāṇḍ ko prakāś miltā hai, Jis keendra se Prakāś kī utpatti hotī hai, Prakāś punya amṛta kā sāgara, aur vohī amṛta kā sāgara hai. It is that the source of the light, the center of the light, which gives the light to the entire universe. And that is Prakāś Puñj Amṛt Kā Sāgar, the endless ocean. Endless ocean. That is the Amṛta which has no end. Prakāś Puñj Amṛta Ke Sāgara, Dīpa Harī Mahādānī Hai. Bhagavān Śrī Dīpa Nārāyaṇa Mahāprabhujī is the greatest, the greatest of the greatest, the giver of the giver. Mahādānī, who can give us? He is always giving. Satguru Devī, each and every word of the Gurudev’s bhajans—Gurudev means all Gurudevs: Mera by Guru Kabīr Dājī, by Guru Sūr Dājī, by Guru… All are the great saints. They are all one. Therefore, Holy Gurujī used to say… One in all, and all in one. Sabhī ek ke andar, aur ek sabhī ke andar. Issī de kāhe, ek sāje sab saje, aur sab sāje sab jāye. Therefore, Hari Gurujī used to say, one in all and all in one. If you meditate and concentrate on one, you will gain everything. And if you try to get everything, you will lose everything. Hold on to one. If you take water and with the cotton put the water on the leaves of the trees the whole day, the tree will still not get water. But you give the water in the roots, the entire blossoms, bark, branches, fruits, and leaves—the entire tree will get water immediately if you put it in the roots. So the same root, the same root of devotion, the same root of knowledge, the same root of immortality is only one, Gurudev. Therefore, it is said, Guru kṛpā hi kevalam. And the happiness of the disciple is Maṅgalam. Guru kṛpā hi kevalam. But every devotion is in Marwad, that work is not done. Some believe in Bayasā, some believe in Bhairūjī, some believe in Bhopājī, some believe in Khetalājī. God said to him, "Go and make a loan for me." Janathana was making a loan for him. God said to him, "Go and make a loan for me." He said, "Go and make a loan for me." That is not the case. That is why it is said, "The one who has been blessed with alms," and God Śiva himself appeared while the yogī was sitting and cooking his food on the fire of Citta. God Śiva came to bless him, saying, "I should give him something so that he can get something to cook his food." Śaṅkara Bhagavān and Pārvatī jī both were going in the forest near a small village. When someone died there, the pyre was lit. Even now, at 11 o’clock in the night, the pyre is lit. Pārvatījī and Śivjī were leaving from there. Pārvatījī says that the pyre is lit, but someone is sitting there. Let’s see who it is. Lord Shiva says that Devī is a great yogī, a great yogī; she is cooking her bread. Pārvatī says, "What? A yogī is your devotee, and she is cooking her bread on fire." You did not even give her the facility to cook her bread. Oh Lord, you have lost your respect, you have lost your respect, you have lied to us. He is sitting in a big bungalow in an air-conditioned room. And he is remembering your name day and night. You did not give him the means to make bread. This is a big mistake, Lord. This is darkness in your kingdom. Lord Śiva said to Pārvatī, "I want to give, but that great yogī does not want to take." Parvati said, "Yes, yes. You do not want to give, right?" God is saying, "Go and give." Who doesn’t want to take? Who will be there in this world who doesn’t want to take? And you yourself, Trilokināth, Bhagavān Śiv. Bhagwan Śiva says, "Pārvatī, don’t move." He is a great yogī, he doesn’t want anything. So go and give. If you want to see, I will see how he won’t take. Bhagwan Śiva says, "Pārvatī, this is a tree, stand behind the tree." I will go, I will appear in front of him, and you will see and hear. Don’t be afraid, don’t get angry, don’t say anything, don’t make a fuss. That Lord, I will stand with folded hands, and I will see how you give and how much he gets angry. Bhagavān Śiva appeared before the yogī. The yogī was making a jadā roṭā for Lord Hanumān. He was burning on fire. Bhagvān Śiva came and stood in front of him. The yogī did not even see. Bhagavān Śiva does not even see. Om Namah Śivāya. Even then, he is not seeing. Then Lord Śiva chants Oṁkāra. Oṁ. The yogī is attached to his breath. He is attached. Then Lord Shiva says, "Bhakta, when Lord Shiva says, the yogī does not look up." He is baking bread and says, "Who?" That I myself am the master of all Brahmins. So the yogī is not looking up. He is turning his head and says, "Why did you come here? Hari Om Tat Sat." Bhagwan Śiva says, "Why did you come here?" To give you something, Yogi Mahārāj, you have to give something. So the yogī does not look up and says, "When did I ask you for something?" Om Tat Sat. Pārvatījī said to us, "By putting his finger in the mouth, he was trying to be quiet, that I should not speak." He said to Bhagavān, "When did I ask you? Why did you come?" So Bhagavān said, "Yogī Mahārāj, ask for something or the other. I come, so I give you a boon. Ask for anything." So that great, adept yogī, what does he say? If you have to give, then give it, that you should go away from here quietly. That is why it is said that Kubera is also present, who still goes to the day with alms. If there is carelessness, then it should be like this. So, that Amarbani, who gets it by the grace of Gurudev, Mokṣamūlaṁ Guru Kṛpā, but if there is Guru Bhakti, then, otherwise, in every Bhakti, the Bhakti of Kapaṭ is not considered by the Lord. Kappat kī bhakti Prabhu nahīṁ māne, Sache rase Gopāl, Sab kus deve-dātā, Dīp dayā Janam janam kā dharidhar methe, Janam janam kā darī darmete aur mahādhan detā viśāl, Sab kus deve-dātā dīpan. Bhartījī had told this in the morning. That is why Amrit was of that category where Ṛṣis and Munis used to sit here. There used to be Yajñas. So, it is that nectar, Which makes the immortal. I told the story of that one yogī. Pārvatī and Śiva were passing by, and Pārvatī asked, "Who is this man? What is he doing?" And, you know the story, finally that yogī tells to Śiva, "I don’t want anything from you, but still, if you want to give me something, then please give me their peace, and you go away, that’s it. Don’t disturb me." Even Śiva himself comes, but that yogī, so such a yogī is the greatest of the greatest. Therefore, it is said, if God makes a mistake, the yogī can correct it. But if a yogī makes a mistake, even God can’t correct it. Therefore, it is said, Guru Kṛpāhi Kevalam. Therefore, in the universe, the highest tattva is Gurudev, the Guru tattva. So, we are sitting here at the divine place, the bank of the three rivers, enjoying the satsaṅg and meditation. I wish you a pleasant time, a happy time, a divine time, and tomorrow again we will have satsaṅg. We don’t have to worry about the business, the wealth, the family, etc. I will get something; I will not get anything. I am sick; I am sad. After coming here, there is no sickness, no pain, no suffering. Either we are all lying in the lap of Gaṅgā Māyā, whether we get a bed or not, that mother will not hurt anyone. All of us are in the lap of Gaṅgā Māyā. Say, Gaṅgā Mahātma. Say, Satguru Devakī. Say, Deep Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān. Say, Mādhav Kṛṣṇa Bhagavān. Say, Śaṅkar Bhagavān. Oṃ Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinaḥ Sarve Santu Niraamayaāḥ, Sarve Bhadrāṇi Paśyantu Mā Kaścid Duhkhabhāg Bhavet. Oṃ Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ...
