God Is One

A new era of spiritual unity dawns upon this sacred gathering.

The greatest culture is Sanātana Dharma, Vedic and eternal. No country, no culture, no language compares. The holy water of the Ganges sanctifies all. Divine souls are present here. The world is one family, as Indian sages teach. This stage is a world stage for self-realization and union with the Supreme. God is one. The earth is one, divided only by human names. God has name and form, yet is beyond them, like the concept of money beyond currency. Sanātana Dharma is no sect. It has no founder, no beginning point. It is the manifestation of divinity already within. Yoga is one, though divided by names. Sannyāsa is every human being's right. Once confined, it is now opened to all humanity. This is a human system of true spirituality.

“The heart is the real religion—the religion that has no beginning point.”

“God has name and form, and at the same time God is far beyond name and form.”

Filming locations: Kumbha Melā, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India.

Satguru Dīp Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān Kī Jai, Śrī Śrī Deva Purī Samāha Deva Kī Jai, Hindu Dharma Samrāṭ Paramahaṃsa Madhavānandjī Guru Deva Kī Jai, Viśvaguru Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Paramahaṃsa Madhavaṃ Purī Jī Guru Deva Kī Jai. Oṃ viśvāni deva savitarduritāni parāsuva yad bhadraṃ tanmā asuva. Oṃ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ… Oṁ Paramaśraddhe Ācārye Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Mahārāj Kī Jaya, Boli Dīp Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān Kī Jaya, Boli Amāre Śraddhe Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Svāmī Maheśvarānandajī Mahārāj Kī Jaya, Amāre Śraddhe Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Svāmī Śrī Premānandajī Mahārāj Kī Jaya, Sant Samāj Kī Jai, Bhārat Mātā Kī Jai, Gaṅgā Mātā Kī Jai, Ātmānandajī Mahārāj Kī Jai, Jai Aho, Gau Mātā Kī Jai, Sanātana Dharma Kī Jai, Jai Aho, Jai Aho… Jai Hari Hari… I request all of you who have gathered here—and I ask this especially of Swāmījī Mahārāj—please bless everyone. May all of you live your lives with happiness and joy, immersed in our Indian culture. For we all know that the greatest culture in the world is our Sanātana, our Vedic, our Indian culture—our eternal Sanātana Dharma. Do you know where you are seated? On the banks of the Gaṅgā—on the banks of the Ganges. May the holy water of the Ganges sanctify us all. The country and the culture in which you sit, we firmly believe, are incomparable. There is no country like our country, no culture like our culture, no language like our language. That is why you all love us. A foreign visitor once told me something very beautiful. “Swāmījī, I have been to India nine times.” I asked him, “What do you like most about India?” He replied, “In India, despite all its shortcomings…” Par jab tak Bhārat meṁ sant raheṁge, Bhārat meṁ ye mahāpuruṣ baiṭhe raheṁge, Bhārat jaisā koī deś nahīṁ ho saktā. Hamārī sanskṛti in santon se hai, in mahāpuruṣon se hai, kyūnki Indian philosophy is a very deep philosophy. Paramaśraddhe Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara, Svāmī Maheśvarānandajī Mahārāj: Jin ke ūpar hum baṛā garv karte haiṁ, ki hamāre Akhāṛe ke ek mahāpuruṣa mahāmaṇḍaleśvara, na keval Bhārat meṁ, pūre viśva ke andar jinhonne Sanātana Dharma kā pracār kiyā. Hameṁ se jab bhī maiṁ miltā hūṁ, baṛī prasannatā hotī hai. Paramaśraddhe Mahārājī ke pās Vyānā meṁ kayī bār gayā hūṁ, lagbhag chār pāñc bār hum log mile haiṁ, aur Europe meṁ kayī jagah par, Germany vagairah meṁ, kayī liṁst meṁ, kayī jagah par hum sāth sāth rahe haiṁ. And I know that Swāmījī has spread our culture and our religion all over the world. Many times Mahārāj Śrī Ācārya Jī Mahārāj also speaks of this, saying that our Maheśvarānanda Jī Mahārāj has made a very important point. During the last Kumbha, he said that we consider him an International Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara, Śraddhā Svāmījī Maheśvarānandajī Mahārāj. And he is a superstar in our world of dharma. We are overjoyed. First of all, our adoration to our respected holy Ācārya Śrī and to all the respected Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Śrīs: Ātmānandjī Mahārāj, Supremānandjī Mahārāj, Jasrāj Purījī Mahārāj, and all the other new Mahāmaṇḍaleśvaras and all the holy ones on this stage. Most of you know this already, but for the few who do not, let it be clear now: we are very fortunate, very blessed souls. And we are extremely happy to welcome here in our camp His Holiness Ācārya Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara of the Mahānirvāṇī Akhāṛā. He is very, very busy. Thousands of people are sitting in front of his āśram, waiting for his darśan, and many others are waiting for the bhaṇḍārā. Yet, in spite of all this, his holiness took the trouble to visit our Akhāṛā, our āśram. We are deeply grateful and overjoyed, and we humbly request His Holiness to bless us. As I look upon all of you, I sense that a new philosophical and spiritual era has begun. You are all present here as divine souls. Vasudhaiva Kuṭumbakam—the world is one family—this is a beautiful statement of the Indian sādhus. Within it lies the divine relationship, the true relationship of humankind. I see the practical manifestation of this sentence right here. This stage is not merely the venue of the Kumbha Melā on the sacred soil of the Saṅgam; it is a kind of world stage for the divine abode, for self-realization, for uniting ourselves with that Supreme Power called God. Svāmī Maheśvarānandajī Mahārāj has given us the philosophical truth of India’s wisdom. Indian philosophies offer an opportunity to recognize ourselves as members of a world family on this very stage. God is one. To understand this, let us consider a small example. The earth is one, but we have divided it with the names of countries. The earth is one. The sea and the ocean are one, yet we have divided them with names. In this world, no part of the soil exists without someone’s ownership—every parcel of land has an owner. But who is the master of the entire earth? That is God. This whole creation is governed by one God alone. God has name and form, and at the same time God is far beyond name and form. Just as some of you come from America, Australia, England, and so on—you probably have money. Do you have money in your purse? In India, money is rupees. And when you return to America, Australia, or your own country, what will the money be there? That country’s currency. Currency is money, but the concept of money is far above the limited sense of currency. In the same way, Sanātana Dharma—the religion of India—tells us a universal truth, a philosophical truth of utmost importance to each and every person. There is no discrimination; philosophy and religion, in their real sense, uplift us toward God, toward God-realization and self-realization. Sannyāsa is not limited to India’s traditional system. It is every human being’s right. This right, established by our deeply respected His Holiness Svāmī Maheśvarānandajī Mahārāj, was once confined to Indian culture and systems. Now it has been opened to the whole world, so that everyone has the right to receive sannyāsa. Everyone, everyone has the right to lift themselves toward God as a yogī. Yoga is one; the system is one. Yet we are divided into different names, frameworks, schools, and methods. Svāmī Maheśvarānandajī Mahārāj has set an ideal example for the entire world: Yoga is one, God is one, and Sannyāsa is the rightful path for a human being. He opened the door for each and every individual. This is a wonderful accomplishment. Beyond the mazhabī (sectarian) culture, we are not bound by any mazhab. We have no mazhab. Only Sanātana Dharma, only India, has no mazhab. What is mazhab? Before the system of mazhab came into being, there was only Sanātana Dharma. As Vivekānandajī says, religion is nothing but the manifestation of the divinity already present in the mind. That divinity is unknown. To come to know it, to bring it into experiential knowledge, Svāmī Maheśvarānandajī has endeavored to make it manifest for all. The heart is the real religion—the religion that has no beginning point. A beginning point means a pravartaka, a founder. The religion that has no beginning point in time, the religion that has no founder, is called Sanātana Dharma. That Sanātana Dharma is meant for every human being. We are now entering a new era, a human system of philosophy and spirituality, on this very stage. Therefore, this is a highly meaningful platform for everyone, for the divine home, the divine abode. Thank you very much. I will come again to see you. To say only “thank you” to our Ācāryas and Śrīs feels too small; rather, we can say, “We adore you,” or, “We love you.” And now our Niranjan Purī will speak a few words. Svāmī Niranjan Purī, from Prague, Czech Republic, speaking in Hindi. Three minutes maximum. Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Kī Chāyā, Śrī Alakhpurījī Siddha Pīṭha Paramparā Kī Chāyā, Ācārya Śrī ke Caraṇoṁ meṁ, Samasta Upasthita Mahāmaṇḍaleśvaroṁ ke Caraṇoṁ meṁ, Koṭi Koṭi Vandana. Āj ham bahut ābhārī haiṁ āpke padārpaṇ se. Do kāraṇ uske liye haiṁ: ek to aise mahātmā ko milnā baṛā muśkil hai. Ham to videś meṁ keval hamāre Śrī Gurudev ko mil sakte haiṁ, aur yahāṁ hamko itnā baṛā saubhāgya miltā hai pūre Kumbha Melā meṁ. Especially when such great beings as you come here, we feel immense joy. And the second reason is that through your saintly presence, your character, and your blessings, our great brothers also become Mahāmaṇḍaleśvaras. Śrī Śrī… Kārī to ek hai, to Śrī Gurudev ke saccā pratīnidhi humko cāhiye, jo unkā jo tattva hai, dūsroṁ ko vah dilā sakte haiṁ. To Svāmījī Sārachpur jī, jo ab Mahāmaṇḍaleśvar bane, to unke itne kārya hue, jisse bahut sāre, bahut baṛī saṅkhyā ko preraṇā miltī hai, aur ādhyātmik utthān miltā hai. In the past four years, I have been visiting many places in Australia, Europe, and many other countries. In the Czech Republic and Hungary, I have attended Kriyānushā and Kriyānushṭhān many times. So please clear the way a little, move aside—there is the path. I am also heading to the Akhāṛā; I will come a bit earlier today and we can speak afterwards. We thank our Ācārya Śrī and the other Mahāmaṇḍaleśvaras for coming. Thank you. Please stay a little farther back.
