The Precious Human Life and the Subtle Universe

A spiritual discourse on the preciousness of human life and the subtle nature of creation.

"Human life is very precious. Among the 84 lakh (8.4 million) jīvas, human life is indeed invaluable."

"The entire infinite brahmāṇḍa is... It is compact; there is no restlessness inside it. There is no empty space."

A speaker addresses devotees, emphasizing the unique opportunity of human birth for spiritual practice (sādhana). He contemplates the vast, subtle universe filled with countless beings invisible to the eye, contrasting the transient, created world with the unchanging Ātmā (soul). The talk touches on the complexity of the body's energy system, referencing the 72,000 nāḍīs and the distinction between prāṇa and breath.

Om Namo Śrī Prabhu Dīpa Nārāyaṇāya. We are all servants, surrendering to the refuge of the Lord. We are all servants, surrendering to the refuge of the Lord. Om Namo Śrī Prabhu Dīpa Nārāyaṇāya. Om Namo Śrī Prabhu Dīpa Nārāyaṇāya. To all the devotees, mothers, and followers of Śrī Dīpa Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān, the supreme father Paramātmā Gurudev: human life is very precious. Among the 84 lakh (8.4 million) jīvas, human life is indeed invaluable. Therefore, it is said that through this body one can practice sādhana, tapasyā, bhakti, jñāna, vairāgya, and yoga. Through sādhanā, you can directly realize the Ātmā as Paramātmā. The lives of other beings are also invaluable because within all creatures shines the divine light of the same Parabrahma Paramātmā. If we observe this creation today, whether it is the smallest atom or the tiniest living being, there are even beings that our eyes cannot see. How did the doer within him illuminate that Brahman? Today, there is no computer that can create such subtle beings. In fact, today no computer can create even two humans or any other animal. Until now, there has been no science capable of creating such forms of life. I do not know who that artist must have been within this cosmic power who has infused all kinds of energies into such a subtle living body. They too must have desires, intentions; there must be some impulses in their bodies as well. Their bodies must also have blood flow to some extent, or some amount of essence is formed, and they too must give birth to offspring, whether in the form of eggs or in some other form. They are beyond our mind and intellect, but all these 8.4 million jīvas who are living all around this globe... If a microscope, a telescope, or a micturition or an axial view of a square foot of land is examined, billions and trillions of beings will be seen inside; you will be astonished that you are standing upon it. Similarly, your nails, the nails... The one whose age is half a day comes and goes; therefore, it is said that this world is transient, it is moving. And that Paramātmā, the Supreme Father, is in the form of the soul, which is unchanging. The difference between the moving and the unchanging is that the moving, the transient, undergoes birth and death continuously; it is created and... That which is created will perish, that which has manifested will become invisible, but that unchanging Ātmā, the moving Ātmā, the unchanging Ātmā, the unchanging ātman is never a moving Ātmā. So we say, just as nowadays they say to make a CD of songs or bhajans, meaning a compact disc, in the same way, the entire infinite brahmāṇḍa is... It is compact; there is no restlessness inside it. There is no empty space. If it were allowed to move here and there, then confusion would arise. A pot that is not full does not spill; a pot that is not full does not spill. And the one who sleeps half and is hungry does not eat; the hungry one who sleeps is a donkey. Just do this twice and come to me; these are matters of deportation. Within this infinite, within the infinite creation, the creator must have used some kind of technology unknown to us, and the discipline is also that same life—water, movement, stability, and renewal. All around our entire earth sphere, there are so many compact beings. When we breathe, if seen through a microscope, we inhale so many beings inside and exhale them out. Nowadays, they even say before you breathe, and here you have to keep this mask over your mouth. Our ancestors, how did they live? They told us to cover the mouth with a cloth, a mask made of cloth, so that no prāṇa escapes when you breathe. Take it, Thai, otherwise the reason why women’s help is considered the best is because within the human body, a network of 72,000 nāḍīs is spread, and through those approximately seventy-two thousand nāḍīs, the prāṇa energy circulates. Prāṇa is not supplied in the form of oxygen. The oxygen that goes in, we call it prāṇa vāyu; that is prāṇa vāyu, not prāṇa itself. And even the prāṇas, the ṛṣi Mu... By which the visible and the seer, the nirguṇa and the saguṇa, are properly distinguished. And among the 72,000 nāḍīs, the principal, the most principal nāḍīs are four. These four nāḍīs belong to the mind of the human being. It maintains the balance of consciousness, intellect, and body. One is the iḍā nāḍī, which is the symbol of the mind, the symbol of water, the symbol of emotion.
