Give Up Your Ego!

A spiritual discourse on the sacred relationship between guru and disciple, delivered in India.

"Where my saints step on this earth, I put my palm. They are walking on the hollow of my palms."

"Gurur Brahmā, Gurur Viṣṇu, Gurur Devo Maheśvara, Gurur Sākṣāt Parambrahma, Tasmai Śrī Gurave Namaḥ."

A speaker delivers a profound satsang on the essence of the guru, explaining the guru's divine nature as the embodiment of Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and Śiva. He narrates the story of Nārada's doubt about his mother visiting saints, which leads to a lesson from Bhagavān Viṣṇu and Lakṣmī on the non-difference between God and His saints. The discourse further illustrates the qualities of a true disciple through a parable where Viṣṇu and Lakṣmī test a wealthy man's devotion, concluding with teachings on selfless service, humility, and the transformative power of the guru's grace.

O Gurur Brahmā, Gurur Viṣṇu, Gurur Devo Maheśvara, Gurur Sākṣāt Parambrahma, Tasmai Śrī Gurave Namaḥ. Dhyāṇa mūlaṁ gurur mūrtiṁ, Pūjā mūlaṁ gurur pādam, Mantra mūlaṁ gurur vākyaṁ, Mokṣa mūlaṁ gurur kṛpāḥ, Oṁ Śāntiḥ, Śāntiḥ, Śāntiḥ. Viśva Vandanīya, Ārādhy Bhagavān Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Mahāprabhujī kī Caraṇ Kamala meṁ Bāraṁ Bāra Naman, Devādhi Deva, Śiva Svarūpa Śrī Dev Purījī Mahādeva kī Śubh Caraṇ Kamala meṁ Kauṭi Kauṭi Nandavat, Prataḥsmaraṇīya Paramapūjyā Gurudeva, Hindū Dharma Saṁbhārakāra, Śrī Svāmī Madhavānanda Purījī Mahārāj kī pavitra sevā or caraṇ kamalome kauṭī kauṭī vandan saṣṭāṅg daṇḍavat. Blessed self, spiritual seekers, practitioners of yoga and daily life, or those who are on the path of spirituality, the blessing is coming to you from Holy Bhārat. Holy Bharat is that land where numerous incarnations and millions of saints were manifested. Bharat is the land of the ṛṣis, and all humans are the children of the ṛṣis, different ṛṣis. They are preaching their teachings, and their children slowly, slowly spread it around the world. The Adi and Adi, the universal principle, is called the Sanātana Dharma. Sanātana means ancient, origin. Sanātana means the relation, connection, origin. Dharma is a principle, the law of the universe, the law of this earth, the law of nature, and the law of creation, as well as the law of the human incarnation. Bhagavān Kṛṣṇa tells in the 15th chapter of the Bhagavad Gītā: Mame vaso jīva loke, jīva bhūta sanātana — "I dwell in each and every entity. Every entity is my sanātana, mera aṁśa, my ātmā, myself, my light." At the same time, Bhagavān Kṛṣṇa said, "Arjuna, time to time I manifest myself through my yoga māyā in two different forms: nitya and nimittāvatāra. Nimitta is that yuge yuge sambhavāmi. Every yuga I incarnate, I manifest." But Nityāvatāra is Sant. Once, a great ṛṣi, Nārada, was giving a lecture, a satsaṅg. He spoke about the human principles and the family, societies, management, ethics, morals, and spirituality. After the lecture, one man stood up and told Ṛṣi Nārada, "Nāradjī, you are giving the dharma of the father, dharma of the mother, dharma of the husband, dharma of the wife, and dharma of the children. You say the mother should be the head of the family. Mothers have all the rights in the family, and the children need the mother's nearness. Mother, stay home. But your mother is going to different ashrams every day, hearing satsaṅg the whole day. She is hardly at home. What do you say about this, Nārada?" Nārada said, "My mother is going to bring the food for me." They said, "Food for you from the ashrams?" He said, "Yes." But the ṛṣis and āśrams, they are also going and begging. Bhikṣuk. What will he give you if he brings alms? Nārada said, "In alms, if a sādhu goes for alms, then the sādhu's life will be successful." Until there is ego and the desire to keep one's dignity—"I am this, and I am that"—you are not a sādhu; you have not passed the first step. Therefore, brahmachārīs, disciples, even the schools, gurukuls, disciples, they used to go for bhikṣā. And a household. That was the Vedic culture. They were upset if one day a bhikṣā wouldn't come to their door. They wouldn't eat the whole day and would wait. In that food, what is got by bhikṣā is great, is divine. That is a real Mahāprasād. The disciple will bring the bhikṣā and give it to Gurudev. It depends on Gurujī how much, why, and what he will give. Those who go for Bhikṣā, there was a great saint here, very near from here, about forty kilometers, Maṅgal Giri Jī Mahārāj. He said: Wah, kya kena, jo mauj fakīr kī hai aur kai mauj nahīṁ hai. Mangala ghalo gudhri, arre wah. Maṅgal Dājī Mahārāj kaitā hai ki, go for Bikṣā, don't make up yourself, just take it, anything, your sleeping blanket, put it, it is called on you. Tip-top hoge jaa ke thare kaun? Saadi kara jaa hono, biav kara jaa hono kai? Sai baat hai, kyo nahi? Sant badke jaa, usko kaite tyagi, wo hai tyagi, dusre hai bhogi, aur wo ho ga rogi, wo ho ga dhongi. Phakad hai, uski to pakad Paramatmā se hai. Phakad ki pakad, koi karabada mile, choko nahi. Just take anything on your body if you feel cold. Take this cooking pot, which is made out of clay. In which vegetables are made, it is called a pot. Don't ask which caste it is. Any door, don't go there, who gives you good food, who welcomes you well. Then the next day, the sādhu will not go there. He wants to be like a bhikṣuk. That's not a beggar. That is a bhikṣuk. Bhikṣuk, monk. Tab wo monk banta hai, jo bhikṣā nahī̃ letā hai, wo monkey bantā hai. Agle janam mein, in next life will be monkey. So my mother is going to bring that food, or which kind of food? After the Brahmachārīs and the saints who ate already, what remains is a Mahāprasād. If you get a single grain from the court of a saint, your fate will be revealed. Kabir Das Jī says, "If I get a dog in my second birth, then I will become a dog from the court of a saint." Lord Kṛṣṇa gave birth to two liars. Today, I have to write that I have to wash the plate of roti in the kitchen. If I have to eat roti in the kitchen, then I have to go to the kitchen to eat it. Even if it is written, it is written. I am so fat, how can I go and sleep with you? Tell me, but if someone goes, "I will eat and sleep," devotees don't care. And with that food comes the divine blessing. Narada went. Narada went, but Narada got a little doubt in his mind. Doubt is a kind of crack in the wall of a beautiful building. And a little earthquake comes, and there are the cracks. Then the strength of the building is gone. Therefore, someone said: "Kaṁsī phūṭī jānkar kahā gaī? Aur doodh phaṭā kahā̃ gayā? Kahā̃ gayā ghṛta? Dipak buj gayā, lo kahā̃ calī gayī? Aur man phaṭā kahā gayā? Preet. Nārāyaṇa, Nārāyaṇa." Kansi is brass. When there is a pot made out of brass nicely, then there is resonance. There is no resonance in this. When there is a crack in it, then there is no resonance. Like this. If there is a crack in that veil, then there is no resonance. When milk is spoiled, there is no butter anymore; you can have paneer. So, when the flame is blown out, you don't know where the flame disappeared. Similarly, when there is disappointment in the heart, love disappears. You don't know where it has gone. You try a thousand things, but there is no love. So Nārada had a little doubt in his heart. Why is my mother really going there and here? Narada came home and he said, "My holy mother, my divine mother, every mother is a holy mother, every mother is a divine mother." Every child says, "My mother is the best mother." Which mother is not a good mother? All mothers are the divine mothers. "Mother, now you are tired and a little old. Stay at home, and the saints will come at home and give satsaṅg. You should take the joy of satsaṅg, mother." And I said, "I am old now, don't bother me." Mother knows the child from the womb. Mother knows the child from her womb already. Mother knows the entire psychology of the child. And each word and way of thinking of the child, the mother got a little bit. The mother thought that in my son, someone has misinterpreted, blackmailed. The mother was a little upset that my child is blackmailed, my child is confused. Mother said, "My son, going there, when you go to see the sādhu, then give up your ego of your position, your education, and your wealth." Don't say, "I am a rich man," "I am this man." In Gujarat, they say, "I am Nāthājī from Nara." I am Nāthājī without Nara. They come and sit there. Nāthā jī, why are you sitting there? Come sit here. If a poor person comes and says, "Why are you sitting here?" Go back and sit there. In Vijayanagara, people sit here. See, in the Kali Yuga, there is money everywhere. Welcome is being given to the people, not to the people. But when saints go there, there is no discrimination. Go to the meeting of saints. Go for the darśan of a saint without any ego of your position, your wealth, your knowledge, your education, etc. Then each step towards the Gurudeva, each step towards the saint, is like a thousand yajñas, not only one, a thousand, koti, koti. What happens then? Then what happens when you see the saint? The three things that time removes from you at that time. Death will not come near. Nobody will be tricky to you. There is no bargaining; there is no business. And when you will die, the jhaṁḍā will not pull your dhaṁḍā. Otherwise, your dhaṇḍā will be pulled by the jhaṇḍā. So when Yama comes, the messenger of death, either Yama or Dharmarāja sends the angels. When you bow down, then all the thousands of kilos of the sins fall down. But when there is ego, ego is like an arrow here. It doesn't let you bow your head down. The ego of Maṇī, the position of Maṇī, everything. Rām, Rām, Sām, Namaste Mahārāj. He said, "Namaste, get up." When you meet the saints, you meet them with humility, with bowing. The water rains on the mountain but flows down below in the valley. Sadabhai, the water is filled up there. ... The lake will be filled where there is water. No one will stay on the top of the lake. The lake will be filled where there is water. Therefore, Mother says to Nārada, we have to call the saints. Kabīr Jī has said in his bhajan, "All the doors of all the Chauda Lok, anywhere he could go." Now, if some will have access to all the lokas, immediately they will buy more land there. He said, "No, I don't know what Bhumāfya said. I bought the land on the moon itself." So Ṛṣi Nārada went to Bhagavān Viṣṇu. Bhagavān Viṣṇu sat on Śeṣanāth, a thousand-headed snake, and Lakṣmījī passed by. She was sitting nearby, making Charaṇ Seva. Nārada jī came. What was Nārad jī's mantra? Śrīman Nārāyaṇa Nārāyaṇa... Sathya Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān kī. Lakṣmī jī says to Viṣṇu Bhagavān, "Prabhu, Nārada's kartāl is coming to listen." Bhagavān Viṣṇu says, "Yes, if Nārada comes, then he brings some problems and troubles." Nārada came, Lakṣmī jī said, "I hear the music, the resonance of his tānpurā." Bhagavān Viṣṇu says, "Yes, whenever Nārada comes, he brings some very interesting news." Nārada arrived. Nārada made a praṇām. Bhagavān Viṣṇu, Lakṣmījī, they bless him. Bhagavān Viṣṇu says, "Nārada, what brought you here?" "Prabhu, aapke darśan ko bahut samay ho gayā. Long time ago I didn't have your darśan, so I thought I should go for a darśan. Prabhu, ye sādhu log jitane phir rahe hai, there are so many saint sādhus moving with the orange cloth. Who are they?" Bhagavān Viṣṇu kahte hai Nārada ko: "O Nārada, my soul is a saint, and I am the body of a saint. And the body of a saint is my whole body. Rom Rom, Meram Raha Jyam Badal Me, Me Are mere har ek baal. In my each and every hair, the saints are dwelling, like the rain in the clouds." Nārad, Bhagavān Viṣṇu knew what Nārad wanted to ask. Before Nārad could ask them, Viṣṇu Bhagavān said, "Nārad kī bāt samajhge." Bhagavān Viṣṇu to ghaṭ ghaṭ ke antar jāmī, sunte jāne vāle hai. Bhagavān comes to know why he has asked me about Nārada. Bhagwan knows, and he comes back with the inspiration of Bhagwan. Bhagavān Viṣṇu says, "Nārada, mera santau mein yantar nai. Hey Nārada, there is no difference between me and my saints, there is no difference at all. O Nārada, there is no difference between me and my sense. Those who have doubts in my sense will go straight into that hell." Narada was quiet. Narada was scared. Lakṣmījī was sitting near him. Narada was nervous. Narada says, "O God, please forgive me. Please forgive me." Surdhājī Mahārāj says, "Prabhujī, don't hold onto my bad thoughts. I am ready to give you my name. You can cross it if you want." Nārada says, "O Prabhu, forgive me for my bad thoughts and wrong thinking about the saints and Gurudev. Forgive me, please. You are the Equal Vision One. You love all." Lakṣmījī says, "Should I also say something? There are a number of people who say that I have a bhagat." Lakshmījī says, "Do it." There was a time in the Kalyug. In the Kalyug, there was Rupiyā and Rām. Those who had Lakshmī in their house, they would ask for Ānand. Those who had Māyā in their house, their family would get spoiled. Bring a lot of money, earn a lot of money, but do charity, do dharma. Earn a lot of money, that is Lakṣmī. Where there is Lakṣmī, there is happiness and peace in the house. If there is Lakṣmī in the house, then who is the mother and the father? Who is the mother and who is the father? Your mother has always died. She gave birth to a baby. The father has always sent the father straight to hell. The one who has Lakṣmī in the house, who is the mother and the father? What should I say? Should I say mother and father? I am not saying you, I am not saying them. So, Lakṣmījī says: "Ātā Lakṣmī, arajā karta hai, main santaurī dāsī, jahan jahan mere sant charan dharat hai." Lakṣmījī says, "Bhagavān Viṣṇu, can I tell something?" Say yes. "Yes, I am the servant of the saints. Where my saints step on this earth, I put my palm. They are walking on the hollow of my palms." This means, where the saints come, there goes Lakṣmī. Where the saints come, there Lakṣmī comes. Narada was so sorry. Narada went back and said to Matajī: "Mātā Śrī, Māmī Śrī, Mātā Śrī, Mātā... Śrī, Mātā... Śrī, Mātā Śrī. Mahābābanō khadarē mai, mōṭā tilad gharvārī rājī. Āj kāl kaun mahāprabhujī kī sevā kare? Bhakṣālī hotā, wo mahābāb kī sevā kartā hai." Bill Nārad jī bent and mahā se māfī māṅgī. Lakṣmījī kahatī hai ki, "O Prabhu, jitne bhī paisā wāle haiṁ, vo sab mere bhakt haiṁ. Jiske wahan maiṁ nivāś kartī hūṁ, bhakt hai mere." Ha, Viṣṇu Bhagavān ke andar me thodī doubt āyī. I thought that Lakṣmī is my servant, my wife, my faithful one, and she said, "Now, these all bhaktas are my bhaktas," and I said, "No, they are her bhaktas." My devotee will not come today. He has run away from me. He has run away from me. He has run away from me. ... He has run away from me. Lord Viṣṇu said, "Alright, let's go." Lord Vishnu and Lakshmījī are going to test if they are devotees of Lakshmījī, Māyā, or Lord Vishnu. Bhagavān Viṣṇu became a saint. He was holding a chimṭā and a tilakya in his hands. He was doing all the work of Nārāyaṇa. The saint was going to the village. There was a small village. There was a rich man in the village. Bhagavān Viṣṇu said he is the rich man. So, God Viṣṇu made a nice dress like a saint. When he came on this earth and went to one village, there was a rich businessman. Viṣṇu Bhagavān, as a sādhu, goes to the saint's shop. Narāyaṇa, Narāyaṇa, Bhagat, O Gurudev, please, what a great luck, fortune that you came, holy man. What can I do for you? Please first have a cup of water, a little juice, etc. Bhagavān Viṣṇu in the form of the sādhu said, "Saint, O wealthy man, I would like to stay four months here, Cāturmāsa, during the monsoon time." That saint, the wealthy man said, "What am I? Luck? I am the fortunate one. Guru Dev, four months in my house. Welcome, welcome. I have a separate beautiful building, and that will be for you. Four months you stay. Show me." He went to see. Beautiful big building, and nice hall, nice furniture decorated. "Gurujī, you stay here. Gurū Dev, please stay here." Guruji said, "Look, once I put my āsana there, I will not remove it for four months. Don't ask me to remove. Think over." He said, "Gurudev, lifelong, not only four months." Arre Bhagat, my āsana jā ragdata hoon, chār maina pat tak mein uṭhāun lākon hī. Toh baniyo kai keve, Gurudev, jīvan par ati birajo, māro toh baḍo bhāg hai. Phir chochle Bhagat, phir mat kena ki yaan se uthjao, main phir nahi uthunga. Arre Bhagavān, āpko uṭhā vālā kaune, durbhāgī vālā konā hogā? Who will be the unlucky one that will tell you to move your āsana? Bhagavān Viṣṇu put his āsana, nice bed, relaxed. Mālā pherā Bhagavān Viṣṇu, mālā kare, Oṁ Namaḥ Śivāya, Oṁ Namaḥ Śivāya. Bhagavān Viṣṇu kiski mālā pherate hain? Bhagavān Śiva kī. And Śhiv, whose? Bhagavān Viṣhṇu's. Ab Lakshmījī āre after two, three hours. Lakshmi is coming. She went also like a sadhu: tilak, big hair tied it here, kamandal, chimta, and golden sandals, golden mala, the chimta, and trishul, golden. Om Namah Shivaya Narayan Narayan. Said, "Bhagat, kaise ho? Aaj to mera bada bhaag hai. Today I am fortunate, two sādhus came. What a great day! Āj mahārō kī to moṭo din ugyo, do do bābjī āyī gayā. Kyaṅ śeva karūṅ bābjī, āp kī? Ke behto śeva bād meṅ batāūṅgā. Ācandiyā." Lakṣmī jī keṭī bhagat, pānī pilāo ṭhaṇḍā, pyās lagīye. Hāṁ Gurudev, hāṁ. Sāheb, strī ho ya puruṣ gharat, Gurudev hī hote ho. Badiyā chāndī kā glass me pānī Lakṣmī jī said, "I have my own glass, I will drink from it." She took out a glass of gold, a kilo of gold. She poured water in it, drank the water, and threw the glass away. She said, "Bring more water." She threw away the glass of gold. She said, "Did you bring more water?" She put her hand in her pocket and threw away the glass of gold. She drank the water and threw it away. Now she will drink some milk. I asked for some milk, he said. I asked for some milk, he said.... I asked for some milk, he said. I asked for some milk, he said.... So she came and she said, "I want some water." She took a glass made of gold, put a little water in it, and drank. Glass was one kilo gold, just throw it. More water, she said, took one more cup, drank, and threw it. Then she asked for milk, took a big bowl, drank it, and threw it. The businessman said, "These are golden cups and glass, and why are you throwing them?" She said, "I use only once. Even my bathing basket, my eating thali, all gold. You don't need. I have myself with me." But I don't see. She said, "Don't worry, it supplies me someone." He was thinking, "Four months if she stays here." Oh God, I will be the richest person in the whole world. She said, "But I want to stay four months for the monsoons." He was so happy. Oh, so happy. He said, "I have one new building." She said, "Let's go and see this one." He said, "No, this is not good. There is one more building I see." "Yes, Gurujī, that building is also mine." Open the door, beautiful dining room. Viṣṇu Bhagavān, Oṁ Namaḥ Śivāya, Oṁ Namaḥ Śivāya, Oṁ Namaḥ Śivāya. Vishnu is looking, Lakshmi is. Lakshmi comes, tuck, tuck,... Tuck. Ladies have high shoes, golden. Lakshmī looks at Viṣṇu Bhagavān. He said, "I want to stay in this room." He said, "No." He said, "Gurujī is sitting." He said, "Okay, I go. I need not stay, I go." He said, "Sit in the other room. Gurudev, the king has come." He likes this room. You have a new silver throne. Sit there. Bhagavān Viṣṇu said, "Hey Bhāgata, I told you, I will not move my āsana. I will stay here." "Gurudev, only four hours. Be merciful. I will carry your āsana as it is and put it in another room." He said, "No." He went back to the other Swami Lakṣmī. He said, "I have a more beautiful room for you." She said, "I don't care if your room is beautiful or not beautiful. Either here or nowhere. Don't waste my time." Again he went, "Gurudev, kṛpā kardo. Āp jo sant? You are a merciful saint." He said, "No, I told you no." Again, he went to Lakshmījī. "Lakshmījī, you still didn't fix your āsana. So, there is a beautiful room." She said, "Idiot, move away, I go." He said he fell down in front of Lakṣmījī. Kripa karo, kripa karo, sāsa tāka na, paka pakāra ke. Within two minutes, Baba yā nahī̃ reyegā. Jā ke ke, Mahārāj, utho ke nahī̃ utho, lauṅg koī lat, thārā bāpro ghar konī hai. Sadhu Chanda sa jaga didī. Mālik ban ko, hatta tau. Bhagavān Viṣṇu, he said, he came. He said, "This is not your father's house. I was kind enough to give the room. And now you have become the owner of it. Move from here. Otherwise, my workers will come and throw you out." Bhagavān Viṣṇu, in the form of the saint, took his āsana and kamaṇḍalu and went away. He went to Lakshmījī and said, "Come, come, Bāpujī, the āsana is ready for you." Lakshmījī came and asked, "Where is Mahārāj?" He said, "Bapujī, he is just a beggar. He has a lot of problems. He has a lot of problems. ... He took out the saint like this. If someone else comes and throws an arrow, then you take me out. I don't want to go to your room." Lakshmījī went away. After going ahead, two kilometers into the forest, there was a tree. I said, "Where is the tree? There was a tree." God, Viṣṇu and Lakṣmī were sitting there. Lakṣmījī said, "God, is he my disciple or Ṭhākura's disciple?" God Vishnu said, "Vishnu said, 'I am John Lee and I am Lakshmījī. I am tired of the Kalyug. I don't want to die.'" So Bhagavān Viṣṇu, he came, Lakṣmījī. Lakṣmījī asked, "Where is that saint?" "Oh, such a beggar is coming every day. They are not great like you. I throw him away. You take his place, please." Lakṣmījī said, "No. You are greedy for my gold. After some time, or tomorrow, someone will come. He will throw the diamonds. And you will throw me out. I don't want to stay here." Lakṣmī jī bhī calī gayī, Viṣṇu bhī calā gayā. So to realize and to know who is who. Therefore, disciple, a disciple is one who has discipline. Disciple from the discipline, that's called a follower. And there are three. Follower, follower, or the follower of Gurudev's garden. So the disciple listens to the principles and works. When the disciple says, "Gurudev, I want to serve you," very good. What kind of service does Gurudev need? In Līlā Amṛt, when Gurujī took sannyās dīkṣā, Gurudev Swami Mādhavānandjī Mahārāj asked Bhagavān Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Mahāprabhujī, "Now what is my service to you, Gurudev?" Mahāprabhujī said, "Go and serve all humanity and protect all the creatures. Service to each and every entity is service to me." So the guru doesn't need service to his body. He doesn't need service to money or anything. His service is to give the Guru-Bhakti and Guru-Knowledge, the light of that wisdom to the whole world as originally as it is. On the day when you will lose your bhakti, that devotion, that light of spirituality will disappear from you. So disciples should learn, and disciples should always remain a disciple. On the day when a disciple thinks, "I am the guru," then he is nowhere. Our Gurudev is Satgurudev Viraj Manu, Mahāprabhujī, Holy Gurujī. I am a disciple, you are a disciple, I am traveling around the world as a disciple. I tell the people I am only a postman, bringing the post of the Gurudev's divine message. Therefore, it is said, "Gurur Brahmā," seeing Gurudev as Brahmā, the creator. Gurudev creates in you motivation, intuitions, and creates in you those visions. Gurur Brahma, Gurur Vishnu, protector through his mālā, through his mantra, through his adhyātmik, spiritual śakti, he protects the disciples. But you have to stay under that umbrella. If you go out of the umbrella, then the hail will fall on your head. And when you are under the umbrella, the nectar will rain there. Gurudev is Śiva. Shiva means the consciousness, pure consciousness. Shiva means the blessing, and Shiva means the liberation. Gurur Brahmā, Gurur Viṣṇu, Gurudeva Maheśvara, Gurur Sākṣāt Parabrahma. Brahma, Viṣṇu, Śiva are not Parabrahma. Brahma, Viṣṇu, Śiva are the Trinity, the creator, protector, and liberator. Shiva, Brahma, and Vishnu are the three guṇas: Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas. But Gurudev, is that called the Brahma Tattva, Brahma Tattva? Therefore, it is said, Disciples said, "What should I do? Which sādhanā should I do? Which kriyā should I do?" Then, he said, "Meditate on the Gurudev's form. God, please save me from Kushaṅg. Keep away the evil and the wicked. Therefore, O my Lord Gurudev, in my visions, with open eyes and closed eyes, every second, every time, Thy embodiment, Thy light should be in my heart and in my visions." Dhyāṇa-mūlaṁ gurubhūrti-pūjā-mūlaṁ gurupadam. Worship the holy feet of the Gurudev. Mantra-mūlaṁ gurubhakya. The best mantras, the best sādhana, is the words of Gurudev. Do this, don't do this. Do that, don't do this. Don't say this, say this. There is our good; otherwise, it's over. Mantra-mūlaṁ gurubhakya, mokṣa-mūlaṁ gurur-kṛpā. When that completely, fully kṛpā will be there, then will be mokṣa, otherwise no way at all. Rāmakṛṣṇa Paramahaṁsa, Swāmī Vivekānanda's Gurujī. He was the devotee of Kālī. Kali appeared and asked him, "What do you want, my son?" "Mokṣa." She said, "I can give you everything but not mokṣa. Go to your Gurujī Totāpurī Jī, and he will give you the mokṣa." Kabīr Dās also was Devī's bhakta in the very beginning, and his Gurudev told him, "Go to the Guru." Therefore, Kabīr Dās Jī, Guru Bhakti, Nirguṇ Bhakti. Tulsidās Jī, Saguṇa Bhakti. So, disciples, just follow practice and develop your abilities and knowledge to serve all the creatures. That is a correct seva of the Gurudev. The other is, thīke karo kāo. Guru doesn't need your seva. Guru doesn't need you. You need the Gurudev. Nature doesn't need us. We need nature. So decide what you want. So, there were two or three questions. I answered all in one, and one in all. There were three questions, yes? All three questions were answered. Can you read? I will give it. What is the quality of the disciples? The quality? Pure quality. There are three kinds of disciples. Madhyam, Kaniṣad, Uttam. The lowest quality is the latest one. If Gurudev asks for some work, we are still waiting to see if someone can do it. Madhyam, waiting, the Gurudev will tell me to do, then I will do. Uttam, come to know what Gurudev wishes will do without any question of why, how, or when. Uttam putra jo hata hai, disciple and the children are the same. Children should know what my parents want. Otherwise, don't argue with the parents; that is very important. This is the quality, purity, pureness. Learn, learn, learn. Be ready to be learned. A disciple is gold, and Gurudev is a goldsmith. A disciple is iron, and Gurudev is a blacksmith.
