Influence of karmas on the soul

The soul and karma are fundamentally intertwined. Karma is action, encompassing all doing, thinking, and speaking. Every action has a cause and creates an effect, which returns as a reaction to the actor. This cycle accounts for all steps, thoughts, and deeds. The universe itself is activity, or Kriyā. The individual soul, or Jīvātmā, is a manifestation of the supreme consciousness, born from primordial sound and wrapped in the elements. This soul carries its accumulated karma from life to life, migrating into forms according to its deeds. Human birth is a precious opportunity. Pain and fear are manifestations of negative karma. Liberation comes from self-realization, untangling the knots of karma through good actions and meditation, allowing the soul to dissolve back into the universal Ātman.

"Karma means action, cause, action and effect."

"The body dies, but the soul lives."

Filming location: Vienna, Austria

Victory to Devīśvara Mahādeva, victory to Mādhavakṛṣṇa Bhagavān, the eternal dharma. A very good morning. These beautiful greetings and blessings come to all of you, dear brothers and sisters in other parts of the world, from Vienna, from Holī Gurujī’s āśrama. The theme of this weekend’s program is "The Soul and Karma." Everyone knows the word "karma." It is a word from the Sanskrit language, but almost everyone knows it. Karma means action. Karma comes from doing, acting, feeling, speaking, thinking, eating, drinking, sleeping. Everything that happens or is seen through your existence is karma. Whenever you go somewhere, there is also karma. When you go to Satsaṅga, you also have good karma. If you associate with bad company, you also accumulate bad karma. It is not only that people perform karma, but it is throughout the entire universe. Our Earth also works. Our nature also works. All principles or elements also act, work. The space is there, offering everyone an opportunity to act. This means that throughout the entire universe, activity—this activity is called Kriyā. Kriyā comes from doing, and so, no matter what you do, it is a Kriyā. Normally, in the language of yoga, the yoga practitioner understands only two things about Kriyās. Haṭha-Yoga-Kriyā means Ṣaṭ-Karma. Ṣaṭ-Karma, karma returns again, means six techniques. Perhaps someone does not know: yoga is not body exercises, it is not breathing exercises, but prāṇāyāma. It is a cleansing technique. Haṭha-Yoga is a cleansing technique: Netī, Dhautī, Bastī, Naulī, Kapālabhātī, and Trāṭaka. There are six Kriyās for Haṭha-Yoga. Rāja-Yoga-Kriyā, meditation, prātak, and many others, as we understand them. And so, cooking is also a Kriyā. Eating is a Kriyā. Preparing food is also a Kriyā. Washing is a Kriyā. Sleep is a Kriyā. So everything that moves, everything that functions, is Kriyā. Karma means action, cause, action and effect. Why do you think like that? Why do you do that? Because there is a cause. Why do you eat? Because the cause is that you are hungry. Why do you drink? Because you have comfort. And what you eat will have an effect, positive or negative. The effect is immediate. And so, whether we act with positive thoughts and do positive things in this world, towards nature, towards all living beings, towards all people, and also towards our planet, it is calculated for us, counted as karma. Every step is counted. One, one drop feels the pressure. And so every thought, every word, every action, every deed, every step is accounted for in two parts: good side, bad side. That is karma. Now, the result, the effect, creates a reaction. The reaction creates a reaction. And this reaction will be directed, again, towards the one who acted. And so it returns to where it originated, whether this message has prevailed. Where was the repetition, the origin? Now we come from the soul. There is a great deal of misunderstanding or a lot of confusion when it comes to understanding the difference between the soul and the breath. For example, starting here, we begin with our mind, with the intellect, with consciousness, the soul, the ātman, and the cosmic Self. So it goes, slowly, slowly up, or downhill, or down the mountain. From the Ākāśa element, Ākāśa-Tattva, the empty space, is a shelter. The empty space is a shelter; it holds the cosmic consciousness, which we call God. God without form. Omnipresent, omnipotent, whatever you call it, but without form, nirguṇa. Nirguṇa-God is evenly present throughout the entire universe, permeating all planets, stars, all objects; so it is no wonder that He is present in all living beings. Therefore, why does He also exist in the consciousness-consciousness of the Nirguṇa? Then this primordial sound awakening is in cosmic consciousness. And this sound is nothing other than the cosmic Self. This is it. Therefore, Nādaḥ Paraṁ Brahma. This sound, the sound, the sound is the highest, the highest, the... highest,... the... Completely still water, beautiful. Now, we throw a small stone into the center. What happens? The waves, like a dial, perfectly round. The waves are being generated. And so it is that cosmic consciousness is awakened when the sound is produced, no water, no lamentation. No water, no complaints. And so, no divine consciousness, no sound. And the sound will calm down again after some time. Where? In the shoes. In oneself. But the wills are visible. And so in the sound, we say the Taraṅga. Now, sound is unified. Sound always flows uniformly in a beautiful form all around. So most, all bells are round, all triangular, and when you touch the bell once, when you press the bell, the resonance comes from the entire body’s capacity, the bell, and the empty space, and the support of this resonance, this vibration, excluded. It sends it out in harmonious words. And therefore, the ultimate, fundamental sound is Oṁ, and the vibration is Ātman. And Ātman itself is Brahman, the highest consciousness. And all beings are the same Ātman, divine consciousness everywhere. Everywhere. Now, the sound slowly, slowly comes and touches, somewhere along with other elements, with embodiment. One produces two, the two produce three, and the three then produce many. And so the elements—space, fire, water—and then matter and earth, and thus a subtle, very etheric body will manifest, an individual. And the individual is the one who develops their own qualities. And that is called Jīvātmā. Jīva lives, and that means life is power, energy that has been gathered and begins to act according to the capacity of this Self. It is said that in modern medicine and so forth, there are cancer diseases. These are the particles. They are very harmful. It is not only that you exist in a body, in cells, but they are present in every cell of your body. Every drop of blood in your body contains countless bacteria and cells, and within them, there is yet another new life. And so, the entire universe is filled with individual qualities. If this sound, which is wrapped in certain qualities, is released, then the sound returns to its origin. The sun sets, returns to the sun, and then it is no longer as beautiful as when it comes back. This planet is called Mṛtyuloka. And there is a planet, Mṛtyuloka, Mṛtyuloka,... Mṛtyuloka. Because here the souls, the jīvas, come and go, they develop more and more strongly; here there is a greater effect of karma, and good karmas will manifest more easily, making ourselves lighter, more in the direction of being freed, and bad karmas will weigh down our being, not make our existence difficult in other planes, in other spaces. Jīva means life, living. The body dies, but the soul lives. And then, the soul seeks another wave, where it can go, where it can enter. And it is, your karma, according to your karma, that captures and leads this soul into another body. It is not necessary that a person is born merely as a human being. It may be that the soul migrates into another life, into another form of existence, through karma. And it may be that the soul, from other living beings, from another human form, enters into a cosmic play. This is the cosmic miracle, the cosmic play in consciousness. It is a play within consciousness. And whoever understands can liberate themselves. He will liberate himself. As long as there is individual karma, you will live as an individual. That is your identity. That is your identity, that as a living being, whether human or hare, as a human, or as a fish, or a fish, or... an F, we must go through Jīva, through the Jīvātmā, and thus, the Veda of stages begins, the first, most important, to have a human form. Form, being born, that is the most important thing, to be born as a human. That means nothing that a human is cruel to other living beings. If you torment other living beings, then you will be in a next life in the short term; you will be there. It is as if you are moving like a wheel. Now the side of the wheel is very high. But the wheel turns. The top side of the wheel comes down. And so it is the dental brace. That is called the cycle. Wheel, rebirth, and death. This is how we go. Perfect. My side goes like this, your side goes like that. My side goes this way and your side goes that way, okay? But when I show you like this, from my side it is different. I do not show you from the side, but you don’t have to say it was as she always shows it, like that. But you don’t have to say it was like she always shows it, like that. I always show you from the side, and so the pains hurt; what God has given is the most beautiful thing God can give. The most beautiful. It is within our power. If God had not created or caused pain, then we would only be without pain. Pain makes us attentive, aware, cautious, and so on. God has given only one of the pains, and we have truly grown so much because of it. We will grow so much, this medicine, this injection, this pain relief. And there are so many different kinds of pain, physical pain, emotional pain, and whatever else. And we try to become good. That is it. So in business life, during negotiations, one also has a pain threshold, please. In the meetings, where one asks, where is the limit of pain reached. The pain is felt not only in the physical body but also in the astral body. Pain and fear. Fear is a manifestation of pain. Fear is a manifestation of pain. And what we have, fear, will also be present in the radiant planes. That is why, for example, in the Christian religions, there is purgatory, hell, and what else—how many are there? Hell, purgatory, and so on. It is not meant for the body, but for your mind, for you. And that means it exists. And the pain, the projection of pain, is fear. And every living being has fear. In fear, every living being experiences fear. And more and more fear arises where the negative actions are. But then the person understands what fear means. What does pain mean? And what does suffering mean? And what does pain mean? And what does pain mean? And what does pain mean? And what does pain mean? And what does pain mean? And what does pain mean? They are helpless, they are not guilty, they cannot express themselves and clearly tell us that they are not guilty. Please do not stick a knife in my head. Please do not cut open my throat. But the person understands that what he does does not lack in his heart this divine solitude, this divine mercy, this forgiveness, this unity. You should not cause any pain. No fear. Okay, we will give an injection. We are insensible. And then we step out. You give an injection. And then it is without pain. And then you cannot. But you have done something. And that is the wrong thing. That is the wrong thing. That you destroy when you destroy. Because you destroy the creation of the Holy Father, the creation of God. The body. Every living person has a body. But in our body, which God or Nature has given, there are such beautiful, wonderful qualities and a heart where we can decide whether to act or not. A person does it only out of hunger, and when they have eaten enough, they relax; but when they do it not just for hunger, but out of greed, that is heavy karma. Body, mind, intellect, consciousness, vibhika, jīvātmā, the soul, and ātman, the soul. When we realize Ātma-Jñāna, when we attain self-realization, then these knots are untied. These hard stones are reported. The hard nut inside you is a painful nut. And it flows throughout the entire universe, through the unities, through good karmas, through good actions and karmas, impressions, meditation, then we will be carried through. So, now, what we think, what we do, what we speak, what we will eat and drink, where we go, where our Gyanindriyas focus, what they will see, what they hear, what we feel on the skin, and so on. It is counted as karma. It does not have to be bad, it can also be beautiful; the eyes are beautiful. The captain says in his beautiful Bajan, the eyes are given to help the perches. In the ears that God has given to hear, to listen, the knowledge and the wisdom. So Mahāprabhujī’s Vajrayāna says, and what a blessing it is that we have the darśana of Gurudev. Our eyes are very, very valuable organs. Only Mother Nature can give that. Until now, people have had no eyes prepared by a model. God is almighty and man is human. No technology exists so far where someone has made a small model or doll and performed the Maulung on it and everything like that. Or everything speaks, except about the film. This is the miracle of God. At least, no matter how high you are. It doesn’t matter how high you are. Compare yourself with God. Unfortunately, some people make great mistakes. Many say, I am an incarnation of Kṛṣṇa. Please, speak. You may speak like that. But you are not that. Or someone says, I am the incarnation of Śiva. Okay, you can. Śiva is consuming so much poison. But with a small pill of poison, you will fall down. And you will say, oh, now I am dying. You will say, well, it is like this. You said you are Śiva. All the others say, I am the incarnation of Jesus. Why are you saying that you are an incarnation of Jesus? Why can’t you say that you are an incarnation of Jesus? So many millions of people who believe in Jesus want this person to devastate everyone, this person like Jesus. Or Jesus says that they all devastate, that they all devastate,... that they all devastate,... from these qualities of Jesus, Śiva, Rāma, Viṣṇu, but not that. At Kumbh Melā, a Swāmī came to me and said he was the incarnation of Kṛṣṇa. This Swāmī is a friend of Pauli Goethe, and I was with him. And I was with him, and I said to him, oh, today I see someone like that, and he said, that is Kṛṣṇa. And the friend said, oh, very good, I am happy that Kṛṣṇa is already here, and now we have a body image. And Kṛṣṇa then completely defeated, fought, and he was very young, not so strong, and he was very young, not so strong, and he was a very great man. What is there until we fight? Then we will see, who is Kṛṣṇa? That Kṛṣṇa should fight against our Vasiṣṭha. And we will see who we become. That is an illusion. This is ignorance. And it means that you are hiding yourself. You hide behind someone. Or you use your rifle. Your weapon to shoot someone else. And so many people make mistakes. And so many people make a mistake and say, now I am a Yogi, I don’t need a master, I don’t need a Swāmījī, I don’t need anyone. I can give you mantra and prayer. Yes, you can indeed give. Yes, you can give mantra and prayer, but no one can forbid you. But how do we act? But if there would be the result, The effect, that’s it. It is very important to consider what Mother Nature or God the Creator could accomplish. Humans are only capable of creating atomic bombs, nuclear weapons, and chemicals. And that is what the way of breaking means. The United Nations speak of sustainable development, which only God can accomplish. Until now, human transformation has been a process of gradual development. Our nose says, hmm, a rose, it smells, or when you are in the... When you get on the airplane, or when you enter the airplane, it smells like fish, and they serve fish and flour for us vegetarians; it is terrible when they serve food for the vegetarians, those who can no longer bear this scent, It is even more harmful than smoke in airplanes. I believe everyone should write to the airlines that care about health, whatever they are called, and the flight instructor should write as well, please as a human being, for a few hours as a human being, that alcohol and meat should not be served on airplanes, please. Everyone travels to the airplane operating offices, and everyone listening now may also eat meat and fish. For ten days they die—you are innocent, it is in your fridge, and maybe you will eat it in a few hours. You can live without eating meat and without consuming alcohol. Many, many unpleasant qualities or events occur because of meat, and what happens at the airport or in time, also from the perspective of safety, is stopped by eating noodles and alcohol. God and Mother Nature and the Creator have given a system that has not created a model, that has not created a model, and He speaks, He says, this is a rose. Such a person should never compare themselves to God. It may be that within you there is an ordinary sense of improvement or qualities that normal people do not possess. Qualities that people usually do not have. Yes, that may be. Still, you must be completely devoted to his girlfriend and so on. Rāma, who was completely devoted to his master and friend, and so on, said nothing. He is not like this one, I am the God Rāma. No, he was normal, he was completely natural, young and wonderful. That is the beauty. If you are with everyone, then make a good friend and embrace yourself. Otherwise, your ego is too high, and after your death or after this worldly path. Hey, come here! You told me you are me! Also, we secure it in the form of a camel. You should not only give water within 24 hours. Three people will ride, and he receives food on his buttocks. Because a camel has no seat, right? Yes, that is against the cosmic nature. And therefore, humility, that is why God said, or Nature said, be humble, be humble. Give, if you are very wealthy, then give. Just like a tree now in the Bavarian season, an apple tree, so abundant, so many beautiful large apples, and what does the apple tree do? and whatever the apple tree does, it turns towards me. It appears before me that everyone can have it, please. This is my last one, because it is too much money. Please take it. It is so difficult. Please accept it. The world-famous rich man stands on Kärntner Straße and says, you are too rich, please. And he says, I am too rich. Can you take something from me? He doesn’t even need to say it. He doesn’t have to say, we will not hurry. We will be there quickly. That is it. The wealth that is within us is our good Self. Our wealth is our true Self. That means you become accessible and helpful and loving and compassionate. You understand with feelings and with full love. Then you are a little like God Himself. You have borrowed His own essence. You borrowed his qualities for some time. Why? Because God has granted you the ability to progress through your sādhanā. It doesn’t matter which cities you have or how many. It doesn’t matter how many magical qualities you possess. Do not speak like this. I am Jesus. I am Christ. It would be our craving. It would be our craving. Then we would have so many crosses in the church. We would have so many crosses in the churches. It is only, it was and it is and it will be only one Jesus. Only one Jesus. And he was, and he will be, and he is a Rāma. Only one Rāma. Only one Mahāprabhujī. That is it. And one that you are. And you are what you are. That is how you are. That is how you are. That is how you are. That is how you are.... This is how you are. This is how you are.... That is how you are. That is how you are.... This is how you are. This is how you are.... This is how you are. This is how you are.... This is how you are. This is how you are.... This is how you are. This is how you are.... You are that. So try to reach the spiritual rank, the spiritual rank where your consciousness is sometimes anchored in the cosmic consciousness. Your soul suffers, pain, If you are jealous, you have thought, This means your soul is being killed. When you are angry, it means your soul is celebrating in the hedge. And if you are greedy, your soul will be trampled underfoot. It cannot be like this. And then there is no liberation. There is no freedom, no peace, no liberation of yourself. That means our soul and our karma are intertwined. They have a relationship, and the more karma frees you, the freer, purer, and more enlightened you become, then it dissolves in Ātman. That is our goal. So, we will continue this lecture. Now we will take a break for 15 minutes. And we will have a meditation to further understand our soul, our emotions, our heart, just like yesterday’s meditation, like yesterday’s meditation, today we will do it a little differently. So I wish you a very beautiful afternoon, and to all brothers and sisters in other parts of the world. Maybe where you are it is night, afternoon, or morning. All the best. And we will see each other in six hours. We will continue our lecture. All the best. Until next time. Wishing you all the best.
