Lecture and practice with Swamiji
Peace is the way, and it begins within one's own heart. Humans are blessed to receive a human body through past karma. Karma is simply action, defined by adherence to or violation of universal law, just as a citizen follows or breaks a national constitution. This action begins with the soul's descent toward Earth and continues through physical life. The human body is a temple for the soul, yet it is governed by a dictatorial mind that must be controlled. When the mind is disciplined, the intellect brings forth the light of wisdom. True practice starts with the discipline of the body, following its inherent dharma to calm restless thoughts and enable spiritual growth.
"Karma is action, nothing else."
"Yogaḥ citta vṛtti nirodhaḥ: through discipline, the restless thoughts are calmed down."
