Yoga - harmony and health

A closing address and guided meditation for a yoga seminar.

"Every day without practice is a lost day. One needs discipline and the strength of will."

"We can’t make promises because our life situations are different, but we will do our best. And that’s the best."

The speaker concludes a seminar, reflecting on its success and the global benefits of the Yoga in Daily Life system. Emphasizing daily discipline, the talk covers the importance of practice for health and world peace, praises the participants and organizers, and shares a humorous anecdote about the kitchen staff. The session ends with a collective recitation of the peace mantra.

Today is a wonderful Sunday with a really clear view. You can finally see how beautiful the gardens, mountains, and forests are. Our seminar program was beautiful. You all did it very disciplined and well-practiced, and now it’s over again. This is how it is in life, coming and going. Whoever comes will go, and whoever goes will come. This means we will come back soon to do a nice program. Yoga is very well known all over the world, and many Western scientists are also doing research on it. It has been proven that it is the best way for health, harmony, and for the body, mind, and soul. Especially the system of Yoga in Daily Life is practiced worldwide. Research has been done by many scientists, doctors, and psychologists. There is a lot of practice in day-to-day life in various places for rehabilitation, in schools for nurses, for sick nurses, and also for physiotherapists. Research has been done by psychologists and by scientists to show how good it is. It’s also practiced in schools and institutions, and it has been beneficial for people. The most important thing is that self-discipline means to practice every day. Practice makes perfect; it makes you a master. So, what we have learned here, we should continue and practice every day. We have spoken about world peace a lot during this seminar, and yesterday was World Peace Day. It is said that peace is in your hands and in your heart. So each one of us should think not only about our own situation, but also about the situation in the whole world, and see what we can do to make it better. So I wish you a wonderful Sunday, and we will see each other very soon again. I wish you a good journey and greetings to your family and friends, and keep practicing. I practiced with you today. The yoga teacher, Ekta, did a very good job. But our dear Vijay, who demonstrated, was even better. And even better were the people who were practicing. I was looking up at my computer screen, and I got pain in my neck because I had to look up. We need to organize things better, to bring people together, for them to see how to practice. The time doesn’t wait for us. Every day without practice is a lost day. One needs discipline and the strength of will. Every day, eleven rounds of Kaṭhuprāṇām will do you a lot of good and will support your immune system. As Ekta said today, relax your nerves. And I was thinking about it, how do I relax my nerves? You can relax them. The best therapy against stress is relaxation and these easy yoga exercises in daily life. The best therapy against stress is relaxation and the simple exercises from Yoga in Daily Life, and Kaṭhopaniṣad and Agnīṣomīya. These two are the most important exercises for relaxation, so please practice. I will come back soon, and I will see who has practiced and who hasn’t. Including myself. One can see on the body whether one has practiced or not. So today we are making a saṅkalpa that we will do our best. We can’t make promises because our life situations are different, but we will do our best. And that’s the best. And with this, I wish you all the best, and we would like to thank our organizers, including the kitchen staff. They really tried hard, and they were really wonderful. There is a song in German. This is what was happening in our kitchen: five were invited and ten people came, so put some more water into the soup, and everybody is welcome to have it. So yesterday they cooked for 150 people, but 400 people came. And everybody had enough. And I also went and had a meal there, and the soup was... there was not too much water in the soup. So thank you, thank you, our Kärntner yoga friends and the organizers for this beautiful seminar. So thank you very much, the people from Turin and our yoga teacher Ekta, and we thank you. This was thanks to Ekta, our yoga teacher. And goodbye, and all the best to our viewers on the webcast, West Coast, and for today it’s finished. Let us sing the peace mantra, or "Aletsu Samana." Let’s all sing the peace mantra together. Oṁ Śrī Gurū Dīpāya Namaḥ. Asato mā sad gamaya, tamaso mā jyotir gamaya, mṛtyormā amṛtaṁ gamayā. Oṁ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ.
