Influence of karmas on the soul (4/5)

Yoga is the universal path for human health, happiness, and spiritual realization. It is the most ancient practice, predating all religions. Yoga's techniques—such as prayer, meditation, and universal love—form the foundation for a positive life and are found within all faiths. The goal is self-realization, merging individual consciousness with the cosmic. Actions, or karma, are a matter of free will, but their results constitute a fixed destiny. Desire is the root of trouble and illness. True spirituality involves tolerance, respect, understanding, trust, and harmony. All religions aim for one God, and the ultimate identity is humanity itself. Work should be selfless, helping others without condition, and living with love while consciously renouncing attachments.

"Yoga removes all the negative energy, and yoga makes a human a better person."

"Karma is in your hands, meaning you can do what you want; it’s your decision. But the result or the fruits of your karma, of your actions, are not in your hands."

Good evening to everyone. This program is called Satsaṅg. This is not part of the official seminar or workshop, and therefore I will speak now in English, as there are hundreds of people here who cannot speak German, and we do not have loudspeaker translation for English speakers. There are also Croatians, Hungarians, Slovakians, Italians, and Spaniards who would like to listen in English. So, to our dear brothers and sisters and friends around the world, once more I welcome you. Today, this evening, I will speak in English. First of all, satsaṅg. Sat means truth, and saṅg means to be together. So, let's have the first bhajan. Thank you very much. Nirbha māra māla lokaṁ niranjan nāma dharasai. Mithe to mithane de, niranjan nāma dharasai to mithane de. Hame hame he kāma sarasai. You can sit on this side, you can go out and sit there. That was the introduction to the satsaṅg. I have to do satsaṅg. I have to go on the path of truth. I want to lead a healthy and happy life. I want to lead a positive life. I want to go on the spiritual path. You can imagine what happiness in life if we do things which are positive, full of love, full of understanding, full of ethical principles and a healthy way of life. Who doesn’t want this? Yoga is designed for a human being to be healthy, to live in harmony and peace, to be happy, and to help all creatures and protect them. Yoga is one of the most ancient paths. Nothing is older than yoga. Even in the Vedas, which are among the most ancient scriptures, everything that we do comes from the Vedas. And the Vedas even describe yoga. So God Kṛṣṇa said, "Time to time I manifest it myself through my yoga śakti, yoga power, yoga energy." Yoga is the divine work. Yoga is the work of the divine spirit, divine consciousness, the God consciousness. Yoga removes all the negative energy, and yoga makes a human a better person. And finally, it is said, "Nurse a Nārāyaṇa from human to God." All divine incarnations, when they were born, we did not know if they were divine or not. Many holy saints in this world became divine through their meditation, through their prayers, through their love for all creatures, and through their tolerance. They became divine; they became holy persons. What is meditation? What is prayer? What is love, universal love? It is yoga. These are all yogic techniques. To believe in God is a yoga principle. To know what is God is a yogic thought. The yogī said, "O man, there is a God." You need not be afraid of anyone, but you should know that God knows. Definitely, it will be judged by destiny. You are not afraid of anyone, but you should be afraid of your karma—what you did, what you are doing, and what you should do. It is the yogī who told there is God, and only that one God, Brahman, has no form. It was not spoken about incarnation and that God is universal. At that time, there was no name for all the religions which we have now on the planet among humans. Many beautiful religions, all religions are good, but at that time, in the very beginning, yoga was there, and there was no name of any religion. Religion developed on this planet according to the teachings or the message of the holy saints, messengers, or a holy incarnation. And so, those who followed the principles and teachings of that holy saint became a movement, and you call it a religion. And all are good. All aim to one God, that’s all. So there are not two gods, only one. Believe, that’s God. Know, that’s God. And how to realize that? The technique? How to become free from the karma, or it means from the sin, that’s yoga. How to lead a healthy life, that’s yoga. How to serve, have mercy, and love for all, that’s yoga. Help that comes from yoga, and prayer, meditation, these are all yogic techniques, which we will find now in every religion. How beautiful it is, beautiful, and everyone has freedom to believe in that religion how they want to believe. Because God, religion, and spirituality are very personal to a human. Very personal. To open your heart and give the love, very personal. And when you realize that love, you will not just play with that love here and there. Maybe once you have experienced many, many lives, you will live from this experience. Meerā dāsī janam janam kī hari tumāre sāth. Meera bhai said, "Meera is your servant. Oh, my Lord, from many, many lives I have been with you. For me, only you, Lord, nobody else." That’s it. That’s the thing of your heart, not your desires. Desires will lead you to troubles. The cause of trouble is desire. The cause of illness is desire; the cause of conflict is desire. There are many kinds of desires. Someone desires to have money, someone desires to have position, someone desires to have more members to create a party, a group. These are the desires. And one day all will stay here, and you go alone, and never know when, when it will come, the time. So, tell me any point of some religion which is not comparable with yoga, and those yogic scriptures which you will find are thousands of years old. And in the Purāṇas, meaning the Hindu mythology, Purāṇas are the tales from ancient times, given from master to disciple, master to disciple. In those tales, which are several hundred thousand years old. Yes, it is. When we think of Satya Yuga, Dvāpara Yuga, Tretā Yuga, and all this counting of the Yugas, from where did it come and who did count this? A Yogī. And therefore, Yoga is universal, and it makes a clear consciousness of the humans and leads to God. To that God which you believe, that God how you believe, and you have freedom. This is the thing of your heart, the love and belief in your heart. And that’s why Yoga in Daily Life, especially the Yoga in Daily Life, which brings the teaching of great divine masters of Om Śrī Alak Purījī’s Siddhapīṭha Paramparā, and that you learn through Yoga in Daily Life. There are many, many activities in yoga and daily life. Every year we organize at least two world peace conferences. Every year. There are some people who organize once in ten years, and they say, "Phew, thanks to God, it’s finished." But we are all tireless every year because it means for us something to have peace in our world. It doesn’t matter which country. All countries belong to our beautiful world, and we support the poor children, poor people, and poor countries without any conditions. Hundreds of poor children, or thousands maybe, are supported for their education by yoga and their life, but without any conditions. Even we don’t know their names, because people are afraid to get help. Because if we give them help, they will ask, "Okay, now you take my religion, you believe me, accept me as your master." No. Where there is love, there are no conditions, only tolerance and freedom. I just wish that you study and have a happy life. Go and work and have a happy family. That’s all. This is niṣkāma karma. This is good karma. And if I say that master is not good, you come to me, then I am doing already bad karma. Then I cannot be a master anymore. That is, if I tell that religion is not good and come to my religion, I did a discrimination. And yoga will not allow discrimination. God will not allow discrimination. Human rights will not allow discrimination. Who are you to change with some kind of temptation in the love of someone? That is not good. So, in yoga and daily life, we are also very active for the protection of the environment. Our water harvesting project, planting of the trees, and so on. And you know, for the last 15 years, we have been trying to plant a world peace tree, peace trees in the world. We should remind ourselves that the peace tree is neither religious, nor cultural, nor political, nor nationalistic, but that tree belongs to our planet and to all of us, to remind humans, animals, vegetation, water, everything, that we would all like to exist in peace and happiness. It’s not easy. It’s not as easy as we think now. Over the last 40 years, I have experienced many things to plant this beautiful tree of yoga in their lives. Now all the five continents are practiced, and they are all helping. That’s the beauty of this, and everyone has the freedom of their belief. We have many disciples who believe in Islam, many who believe in Judaism, many from Christianity: Protestants, Catholics, Orthodox. And we have many Buddhists, and many Hindus, Bahá’ís, and who knows more. But I see oneness in all, that all is human, that’s all. The one religion to which we belong is humanity. And now you see the work of yoga in daily life. How many nations are sitting here together, and no one said, "My country is rich, have a visa to sit beside me?" No. And how many different religions are here, and how many different ages: young, old, this, that, man, woman. All under one roof. That’s the beauty of yoga and Delhi. And this message you should give to all, to practice this and be happy. We do not have any personal interest towards you, only one: that you are happy. Enjoy and be happy, that’s all. Just be happy. Divānata-garu-nāma-kātaki-saṅkaṇa-māne-samāna-patarai. Brahmajī-yātapātaki-saṅkaṇa-māne-asamāna-patarai. Tena lokh kī ichhā nahīṁ, sukh bhī na sahīṁ, dīvā na satguru saṅkamaane. Kyāra jarant vaj Rāmjī nahīṁ kisī kī saṅkamaane. Kya rājā raṅka vajit, Tik pyās parva nahīṁ rake, Tau gherā gambhīr divānā, Satguru divānā, Satguru tamastānā, Life is given to be happy. Life is given to be helpful. Life is given to protect other lives. Human life is that life which should be the last life in this creation through the practice of spiritual sādhanā, yoga in daily life, or any other spiritual path to get self-realization, that our individual consciousness merges into the cosmic consciousness, but that will only be possible if we free ourselves from negative karmas. Karma is in your hands, meaning you can do what you want; it’s your decision. But the result or the fruits of your karma, of your actions, are not in your hands. So the result of your karma means that is your destiny, and you are involved in your destiny. You have no choice but to step out. You are that balloon in the sky, in the hands of the wind, and it will take you in the direction, whether you want it or not, in which direction the wind is blowing. So, if you want or not, it’s your destiny. We lead you through this endless universe and into the next life. Prārabdha pehle rachā, pīche rasā śarīra. First, prārabdha is created, and then the body will be given. We don’t know if we have such good karma that we will get again such a beautiful human body, that we will get such a healthy body, that we will get such a divine, healthy consciousness. That we will meet again, the master. Now you see, in the autumn, the leaves fall from the tree and the wind blows away. Don’t know the destiny of the wind, where it will bring this leaf, and if you will come again to your own original tree or not. And so, it’s in the hands of our destiny, out of our anger, out of our jealousy, out of our desires, out of our complexes, out of our greediness, out of our selfishness, and out of our ego. We will miss this beautiful chance to come into oneness with God by following the best, most beautiful spiritual path. Every religion teaches us the divine. We have to understand that, and we will see that more or less, every religion has the same principles, but every religion doesn’t have the same number of followers. So conflict and fighting is to get more followers. That’s it. They don’t have anything against religion and God, like a political society, political. One wants to be a president, another wants to be a prime minister, this party, the opposite party, that party, my God, competition, challenges, these. A holy saint said, "You can have all, take it, little burden." God has given in my kismet a handful of rice, a glass of water. I will not starve, I will not die. They can take everything from us, but not what is in our kismat, what is in our destiny, pralabdha. No one can take that away. And if it is in our pralabdha, destiny, we will die, we will die. Jisko rake śaiyā mār sake na koī, jitane tare gagan mein utane diśman hoī. As many stars as there are in the heaven, in the sky, that many enemies you can have. If God wants to protect you, my dear, they cannot damage even one hair. Don’t you believe and trust in God? Therefore, I always say one thing, the truth. Tolerance for T, respect for R. U means understand. And again, T for trust in God, and H for harmony. That is the tolerance, respect, understanding, trust, and harmonious truth. That is the principle of Swāmījī’s world peace logo or motto, and that we should follow. So God knows, and now you know, throughout the whole world, the young generation has begun to think spiritually again, thanks to the media, thanks to the electronic media, so that we know the whole world. The whole world has become a small village. We know immediately in which corner of the world what is happening. And I am also very happy and thankful to the media people. Some people are angry with the media, but I always say thanks to the media, that they bring us the message, the knowledge, and so on. So, the nowadays generation knows everything about religion, different spiritual paths, the world, the culture, nothing to be hidden. And you cannot throw away and say there is nothing; only here we are. Nothing can be hidden. And so, again, they come to this natural way of living, natural way of thinking, and natural way of belief. How beautiful. We shall support the young generation because they are the culture of tomorrow. They are the culture of tomorrow, and they are the light of tomorrow. In which direction the youth will go, in that direction our country will go, or our future will go. Now we see the young generation; they are not hungry for money. Many young people don’t understand why there are so many companies and factories and this and that. And you see what money can bring. Now the whole world is in fear about these banking things. Money doesn’t disappear anywhere. The money is in the pocket of those people, and with the humans. Money belongs to this planet, and it remains here. It is a kind of psychic terror, and that terror is money. So, if you depend so much on the money, then you will be nervous. If you believe that in the kismet, what you have you will get, then okay. Jesus said, "Thou shalt not carry." Why do you carry with you so many things? It is in your destiny, in kismet, you will get. If it is written that three times you will get eating, then you will get three times. Times, not four times. And if it is written that you will not eat anything today, though you try to eat, you will not eat. Either you become ill, or you get vomiting, or you get diarrhea, or you are sitting in an aeroplane and you have no vegetarian food there, so you can’t eat. Man has no power to change the destiny. It is in my kismet, it is in my destiny, that’s it. Accept, try to accept. There was a relation only for a particular time, and separate it, that’s all. Oh man, why do you cry for that? Remember your beautiful days with that relation, that’s all. And that beauty should be a strong pillar in your life to exist furthermore. Otherwise, you are jealous, angry, sad, crying. It doesn’t help you. You can be angry, okay. You can be jealous, okay. Jealousy means fire. You are burning yourself in the fire. Anger, you are burning yourself in fire. Jealousy, anger, and hate, this all destroys your healthy cells of the body. And the healthy cells which are in the body, if you can’t reduce and can’t regenerate again, become a dangerous disease like cancer and many other diseases. So it came, it was, it’s gone. But in the divine world, in the energy world, it is with me. I am not ever alone. It is there. There was nothing. It is a form; this material form is a kind of visualization. You dream, it comes, and you get up, it is not there. You are, your ātmā is there. Therefore, we shall work with love. We shall live with love. And we shall help the people with love. And we shall learn to renounce, give up. And if you don’t renounce, the destiny will let you renounce. You should give your property and everything, your children, and renounce. Go and meditate. If you don’t do it, then one day they will find you with open mouth, "Ah, it’s gone! Ah, it’s gone!" So how beautiful is renouncing consciously. Then they will say, "My father was so good, he gave me everything." That’s it. So we shall find the way to harmonize with everyone. We shall find the steps that we can walk to every temple, every church, every āśram, every mosque, every stūpa, and every synagogue. We shall find the strength to kneel down to every holy saint and every religion. You need strength. If you have no strength, you will say, from far, "Hurry home." If you have no strength, you will go into church and just make it quickly. Why do you do it quickly like this? Just do it nicely. No one will kill you, but your ego is killing you, that it doesn’t dare to say. Your ego doesn’t let you surrender. That we should remove. Let’s have the way to divine. Gandhījī was a great religious, spiritual man. Lifelong, he was a bhakta of God Rāma. His favorite song was: Rāghu-Pattī-Rāghav-Rāja-Rām, Patita-Pāvana-Sītā-Rām. Rāghu-Pattī-Rāghav-Rāja-Rām, Patita-Pāvan-Sītā-Rām. Sītārāma Sītārāma Bhajamana Pyāre Sītārāma. Sītārāma Sītārāma Bhajamana Pyāre Sītārāma. Raghupati Rāghavārājā Rāma, Patita-pāvana Sītārāma. Īśvara Allāha Tero Nāma, Sabako Sanmatī De Bhagavāna. Īśvara Allāha Tero Nāma, Sabako Sanmatī De Bhagavāna. Raghupati, Raghu is a dynasty, Pati is the Lord, Lord of the Raghu dynasty, means God. Rama, the liberator of all sinners, Lord of all meek, Lord of Sita, Sita Ram, Bhajman Pyare, Sita Ram. O my mind, repeat the name of Sita Ram. your name, O Lord. Sabko sanmati Dev Bhagwān, O Lord. Give everyone good thinking. Give everyone positive thinking. This was the favorite song of Gandhījī. And the last, a very solid proof that Gandhījī was a devotee of God Rāma, and the last breath went out from Gandhījī’s mouth with the word. What was the word? He Ram. Oh God, Rama. He Ram. Not oh devil, or Du verruchtes. Varum. He Rām. Oh Lord, that’s your mercy. You gave me so much time. Thank you. And you took care of me again. I come to thee, O my Lord. "Hey Rām." Gandhījī was a very spiritual and very religious person, respecting all religions very equally. He never criticized any religion. He was only criticizing this offering of the animals in the name of God, and so on. Gandhījī prohibited throughout the whole of India that there should be no animal offered in the name of God and no alcohol. It was prohibited throughout all of India, but now, unfortunately, alcohol has come out again. Then there was one very beautiful song which Gandhijī liked, and very often he sang, and that song’s first line of the song is, "Vaiṣṇava janto unko kahīye, pīr parāye jāne rahe." Vaishnavas are they; they are all Vaishnavas who understand the pain of everyone. You understand the pain of all humans, the pain of the suffering one and the ill one and children, and the pain of all animals; you are the Vaiṣṇavas. Vaiṣṇavajanto unko kāye pīḍa parāī janāre. So many beautiful... This is the proof that Gandhījī was very spiritual, and at the end of his biography he is writing, "Those who think or speak that politics and religion cannot go together, it means he or she don’t know either what is a politic or don’t know." What is a religion? He proved that through humbleness and kindness, while following non-violence, we can achieve many things. And so this life is given to achieve something with gentleness, that’s it. As soon as you saw your anger and aggressivity, then you are a victim of your own anger. Therefore, our yoga and daily life, which we are doing around the world, has a great impact on people, and we are working for all. We are against no one. We respect all, and we pray for all. With this, I wish you all the best, God’s blessing, and see you tomorrow morning again at 10 o’clock for your beautiful program on the effect or influence of karma on the soul. I wish you good night. All dear brothers and sisters around the world, wish you also, if you have good morning, then good morning. If you have evening, good night. And if you have birthday, I wish you happy birthday. Thank you. Deep Nayan Bhagavān kī Devīś Vermā
