The Whole Word Is One Family

A wave of spiritual awakening is emerging within global suffering. Conflict and disease cause immense hardship, yet a thirst for spirituality grows, especially among the youth recognizing the world as one family. For over four decades, the integrated system of yoga in daily life has provided a sustainable foundation, supporting social, humanitarian, and environmental work. This practice, rooted in ethical living and vegetarianism, fosters health and compassion. Consciousness is shifting; where once people feared to speak of these principles, many now embrace them. Spiritual development depends on our way of life, nourishment, and actions. The goal is to awaken spirituality in hearts and help others rise.

Central to this is activating the Maṇipūra cakra, the powerful navel center from which life develops. This center is the confluence of prāṇa and apāna forces and is the source of amṛta, or nectar. Specific techniques like Viparītakaraṇī Mudrā recycle this energy upward through the higher chakras, while safeguards like Jālandhara Bandha prevent overload. Authentic practice, not modified versions, is essential to gain the full benefit for health and spiritual progress.

"Spirituality—without spirituality, without ethical feelings—there is no achievement in human life."

"The Maṇipūra Chakra is a very powerful center, and we should activate and concentrate on it."

Nārāyaṇa Bhagavad-gītā, Devyāsvar Mahādeva-gītā, Mādhavakṛṣṇa Bhagavad-gītā, Sanātana Dharma-gītā. Good morning to everybody, and many blessings of Gurudeva. Welcome, all of you, and welcome our Mahāmaṇḍaleśvar Swāmī Vivekpūrījī, and Yogeśjī, and all other sannyāsīs. We will have this evening another beautiful, special satsaṅg. But first, I will speak. The world situation within human civilization is undergoing many changes. In many countries, unfortunately, there are fights. Hundreds of thousands of people have lost their homes, and it means millions are suffering; children are suffering, they are without a home. Many people are victims of different diseases. And we humans have put animals in very terrible situations, slaughtering and imprisoning them. Yet inside this, some seeds are sprouting, and this kind of seed is called spirituality. The young generation has not seen the last century, or they have no idea about the so-called Cold War. People were victims of many different cultures, dualities, religions, and nationalities. But modern technology has brought the youth to the understanding of "Vāsudeva Kuṭumbakam"—the whole world is one family, one God’s family. In the awareness of the youth, spirituality is now awakening—a thirst, a search for spirituality. For the last 43, 44 years, I have been constantly giving these instructions through our beautiful scientific system of yoga in daily life. Yesterday, I spoke, and yogīs told that in the last 20 years, nearly 3 million poor people got labor work for surviving, for their families, through our organizations, working in our different ashrams. From the very beginning, we began supporting and organizing social, humanitarian, vegetarian, and environmental work in yoga and life. It is the quality and success of yoga in life, which for 40 years is growing, while many other systems came up for 10 years, 5 years, or a maximum of 15 years and then disappeared. This was a collective work of all our good teachers of yoga in different countries. More than those volunteers and needy people who got work from us, millions more people have been practicing, training, and teaching yoga further in their lives. But it is natural that when one tree gets apples or cherries, they do not all ripen at once. So many people practice. May they stop? May they continue? May they teach around the whole world? Spirituality—without spirituality, without ethical feelings—there is no achievement in human life. So we shall carry on our beautiful work. In the world, much change has come. For example, many people in Europe, when I came, did not even know what vegetarian exactly means. Especially in the time of the communist regime in this part of Europe, people were afraid to speak about a vegetarian life. But I spoke, I preached, and I told the people to be vegetarian, and in other parts of the world too. So you see, consciousness is awakened in people about vegetarianism. Many realized that vegetarianism is very important for our health, as well as for our environment and for spirituality. This economic crisis can only be stopped and improved if people stop eating meat. Then again, the world will be sustainable. Now in this century, the wave of spirituality awakens. And therefore, you should, as always, continue talking about spirituality. Through this spirituality, you can protect the family, protect yourself, and finally achieve that goal of human life. A few days ago, we had a visit in our Vienna ashram from a well-known Swami, called Swami Agnivesh, who also brings the message of vegetarianism—good for body, mind, soul, and for ecology. About 150 people were sitting there. He asked, "How many of you are vegetarian?" They were looking at him. So I told him, "Ask how many are not vegetarian." So he asked, and no one raised their hand. He was so surprised that all the people there are vegetarians. In every face is a light, a beautiful reflection, and we can see here in our hall, 99%, 99.5%, we are all healthy people. See your friends and colleagues who are in your age, how they are. So this is a result of a vegetarian diet and the practice of yoga in life. Definitely, we are not immortal in the body. The body is mortal, the ātmā is immortal. Many great saints and ṛṣis were bringing the message of yoga and Āyurveda, etc., but they also passed away. Even Brahmā, Viṣṇu, Śiva, the creators, the trinities, they also became old and they passed away. So this machine, how long will we hold it, keep it? It has its limitations, but as long as we are alive, let us do good things. Let us awaken the spirituality in their hearts and help them, those who fall down, to stand up. That is our work and yoga in life. Thanks to all of you, because around the world, millions of people are helped and millions of animals are saved. Can you imagine how many people are here? Hundreds of people are here in this seminar. If you were non-vegetarian, how many animals would be killed already this weekend for us? How many chickens, or pigs, etc.? So, in the last forty-four years, traveling through different parts of the world, awakening love towards other creatures and compassion for life and for the health of the people—how many millions of animals have we saved? That means something. Great. Their vibration of life comes back to us. And when millions of animals are just killed without any feelings, the head is chopped, but still other parts of the body are in spasms, in pain. When the doctor comes and gives us an injection, we are brave enough, but still we feel the needle, and when it’s finished, we are relaxed. Measure the heartbeat when the doctor comes with the needle and injects; what is the heartbeat? And when it’s finished, what is the heartbeat? So it is not only for humans, but for other creatures too. You love your house pet, your cat, your dog, or your mouse, rabbits, any house animals. You don’t want someone to kill your animal because you see them, you touch them, you love them. But millions of animals, you don’t see them. Where they’re slaughtering, you don’t see them. They’re screaming, they’re suffering, their blood... some are half cut and still alive. This karma will come back, and that’s why humanity is suffering now, and that’s why mankind is killing each other. Ahiṃsā paramodharma—non-violence. So, it is not only what you eat, but when something comes on your plate—maybe a leg of the chicken, or the tail of the cat—you must know it is a part, a limb of some animal. And how did it come to your plate? Because it was killed, because you want to eat. And there are many people who are grilling living animals. Where is the dayā, mercy? Therefore, now the young generation is coming back to the vegetarian life and spirituality. For the last generation, or after the Second World War, the third generation passed; for them, meat was something because they didn’t eat it often. But now the generation of these people is fed up with this and searching for something new. So our spiritual development, our health condition, and many things depend on our way of life, our nourishment, and our movements. So try to save the humans. It means to bring them to spiritual consciousness. In the last century, people were afraid to speak about spirituality. I said, that’s very good. They should laugh at you, not cry. You see? So only because of your hair, you are suffering in your body? Only because people will look at you with a different look? In the world there is a fashion: many girls have very short hair, and men are shaving nearly every day. It’s very good. You need little shampoo for one year; it lasts. Two drops of the shampoo are more than enough for the bald head. So, to live healthy, and if someone is laughing, no problem. Such kind of thinking we have to give up. But the problem is that we are lazy. We don’t want to do, and we give the mistake on someone as a self-excusing. So with this kind of change, what is coming in the world is reflecting on the whole planet. And this is your work, which comes as feedback to you. And therefore, develop more and more your spiritual energy, your spirituality. And for that, these are the techniques which we will practice. The Maṇipūra cakra, the navel, is the most powerful one. You know that our life began with the Maṇipūra Chakra, with the navel. It developed, connected with very fine energy, and built like a little, fine film with the mother’s body. All this energy of the mother’s body was transmitted into you through that one center, and that is called the navel, and that is Maṇipūra. So, the Maṇipūra Chakra is a very powerful center, and we should activate and concentrate on it and practice something for that. Of course, everything in the body that God gave us is precious and important. God gave us nothing unnecessary or nonsensical. Everything, everything he taught, the cosmic engineer taught everything. What a creation, what a wonder. He gave us eyes, and we see everything. What a system that God created! No one can give this eye. Make a model of plastic and design an eyeball and put it in and say, "Do you see something?" No answer. So, every single cell in the body, as you know, my dear, is given to us by God. But one thing I don’t agree with God. What he gave us, and I’m constantly struggling with him, is illness. Why did he put or give that, which becomes a cancer in the body, or different things? So when I ask him by consultation or by dialogue, he’s looking like this. And when I talk about this point, then he looks like that. And he said, "I didn’t give. You created it. That’s all." God doesn’t talk too much, only a few words. Mahāprabhujī was coming, sitting, and was not talking too much. His appearance was a language, giving. Everyone, though they didn’t understand language or anything, even he didn’t speak a lot, but all eyes were looking to him. Why? Because we are getting from that. So when you come to the forest, you get good air, but the tree doesn’t lose that. When you come in the sun, you feel warm and light, but the sun doesn’t lose. Similarly, in the presence of Gurudeva, as near you come, as near you go, and have a darśana, it is our benefit. And he doesn’t lose. That is the specialty. It gives us. But if you go into some other big supermarket or some big buildings, all the windows are closed, you can’t open them, and there is what they call electronic clouds. It sucks your energy. When you come out, oh God, you are like that—exhausted. This is the difference between a spiritual person and a relaxed person. A happy person, a healthy person, a positive person, or the saint or Gurudev—you come out full of energy. And they don’t lose. Just we get it. The sun is saying, "Utilize my energy." You have it. Use it or lose it. And that’s why we are creating solar panels. Now, in the world, many countries have very big solar projects. Look with the telescope into the sun. Did the sun lose some energy? Did he become a little smaller? No. Similarly, if it’s one person or a thousand, they receive equally that energy of the Gurudeva. So Mahāprabhujī spoke little, but each word constantly dwelled in our heart and in our consciousness. So this soul... which enters into the mother’s body, and thanks to God that He created a mother. Can you imagine without a mother? You are hanging somewhere and drying. Do you know the value of your mother? Don’t be angry with the mother. So all this energy which is coming, it goes through one center point, and that is the Maṇipūra Chakra, and the Maṇipūra Chakra has to be activated. And that is Amṛtasāgara. Amṛtasāgara means the ocean of the nectar. So some of you have the name Amṛtasāgara, no? And then it becomes Amṛtabindu—Amṛt Bindu. That is then the Bindu Chakra. So that energy, that nectar, which is in the navel in Maṇipūra Cakra, you cannot utilize. That is like a raw material, and from that, the essence has to come. That transfers to the bindu. And from the bindu, what you receive, that is called feedback, recycling. That will help our health and our spiritual development. But if the source is drying out, then the consumer here cannot have anything. So that is a supplier. Bindu Chakra is the supplier. And we are again the consumer, though we are the manufacturers of the Maṇipūra. So in yoga, you see in the Yoga and Daily Life book, one āsana is called Viparītakaraṇī Mudrā. Viparītakaraṇī Mudrā is a very powerful technique. Because the Maṇipūra chakra is the center, the border, where both forces are coming together: the prāṇa and apāna. Prāṇa is that kind of energy or strength in our body which is capable of getting energy from outward. If our lungs have no strength, we cannot breathe. These lungs have to move. And when one died, you touch. If there is a breath, so expansion of the lungs or the diaphragm, the muscles which have the strength to expand, that we call prāṇa. But if it has no strength to contract again, you cannot exhale. So that prāṇa which is helping the muscles to move back is apāna. So the whole body constantly sends the used energy or toxins out through the apāna śakti. After 45 or 50 years of age, we must train our apāna śakti. If the apāna-śakti is strong, then you have no problem with urinating or going to the toilet. You will not be able to pass the cold and urine if the apāna is not there. And this both prāṇa and apāna are coming together at the Maṇipūra chakra. Now from this, we lose a lot of amṛta from the amṛta sāgara of the Maṇipūra towards the lower chakras. So, viparītakaraṇī mudrā means—viparīta means opposite, recycling, revising. And so this energy, this amṛta, which goes more downwards and gets lost, it comes towards our other chakras: Anāhata, Viśuddhi, Ājñā, Bindu, and Sahasrāra. Now, if we practice the exact techniques from the authentic, ancient yogic instructions and postures, yes, then we can gain this benefit. But if you are modifying or doing different techniques with this, you lose it. When we get vegetables and if we cook them as they are, without any spices, or eat them raw, then you have the taste of that vegetable. But if we add a lot of spices, like chilies, or salt, or this and that, then 90% we have other taste, only 10% of that vegetable. So from other things, we have 90% effect; from the original, it’s only 10%. Similarly, you see in the world, everyone is writing a yoga book. Everyone is creating some postures, and the market is full of such books. But it’s not that book which gives you exactly yogic principles. So one of those is Viparītakaraṇī mudrā. So another part we call Ujjāyī Prāṇāyām Jālandhara Bandha. Because when we do the Viparītakarāṇī Mudra, when recycling back, the force is going back. Then some things should be blocking again. What you call in the water, when we open, it comes out. And when the other side goes back, it’s klapa. What do you call? Valve. So by Viparīta Karaṇī Mudrā, immense Amṛta flows towards the Bindu Chakra. But that can be very dangerous. The balloon has a maximum limit of 3 liters of air. But you put in 15 liters. You will not see any more balloon—blast it. Similarly, if we are greedy and overdue, then the Bindu Chakra is out of control. And therefore there is an automatic ventilator, that’s called Jālandhara Bandha. So that Amṛtā purifies the viṣa in Viśuddhi Chakra. So these are the techniques, yogic techniques, that will help us to develop our health and our spirituality and achieve our aim. So be sure, you cannot inspire your yoga students with only some postures. Standing on one hand or legs up, hands down, this will not give us liberation and that energy. Yes, it’s body work, strong muscles, balance. It’s good. But as long as you are young, you can do this. You are doing lifelong, but now you are 98 years old. And we said, "Grandfather, please, can you stand and show us on one hand?" He said, "I cannot stand even on two legs now. I have four now, the walker: two legs and four legs of that walker, six legs. But the wisdom will never be paralyzed. Spirituality will not be paralyzed." And so that is yoga, that life is designed, and there are the kriyās which we are doing. So, I wish you all the best. Especially all our dear brothers and sisters who are on the website. And now we will have some practice, so in practice we cannot move the camera here and there, therefore the next webcast will be in the evening. Let’s say Austrian, Hungarian time, 8 o’clock, okay? Webcast. And tomorrow the webcast will be announced, so most probably at 10:30, because our other group is here and they missed the lectures. When is the Kriyānusthān finished? Morning. What time? 10:30. So tomorrow morning will be 10:30 webcast. Okay? So all who are here in other Kriyānusthān and Kriya practices, they can also attend. Hari Om. All the best. Hari Om. Deep Naya Bhagwān. Akī. Akī.
