Life is not a destination

The key of knowledge is the essence of all scriptures.

The scriptures teach two principles. Give joy to others to receive joy; cause sorrow to receive sorrow. All beings desire happiness and shun suffering. Treat others as you would not be treated. The individual soul is ever alone. It arrived alone, lives alone, and departs alone. Relations are temporary; no one accompanies the soul at death. Destiny prearranges life’s events from birth to death. Do not blame anyone for your circumstances. Breath is life; fill each breath with the divine mantra. Pranayama can extend life by slowing the breath count. At death, the soul leaves the body; only karma and wisdom go with it. The soul then realizes its mistakes and longs for the guru’s vision. Life is a mystery, a journey, not a destination. The guru’s wisdom, not the physical form, is the true companion.

“Cāra Veda se śāstra meṁ, bāta likhī hai doya, sukha diyāṁ sukha hotā hai, dukha diyāṁ dukha hoya.”

“Sabhī prāṇī sukha cāhatā hai, dukha koī nahī̃ cāhatā hai.”

Deveśvara Mahādeva Kī Jai, Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān Kī Jai, Satguru Svāmī Madhavānandajī Bhagavān Kī Jai, Satyasanātana Dharma Kī Jai, Oṁ Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ... Our humble salutations to our Alakhpurījī Siddha Pīṭha Paramparā. Our humble greetings to Alakhpurījī Siddha Pīṭha Paramparā and our humble prayers to our Guru. All my dear ones must receive love from me and blessings to you from the Alakhpurījī Siddha Pīṭha Paramparā. This evening is a beautiful evening, and there is a very beautiful subject. This afternoon Mahāprabhujī or Devpurījī gave me instructions. You may call it inspiration. We didn’t see each other all day, but I was on duty. Thanks to technology, I was in different parts of the world through these technologies. I remember many times the satsaṅgs of our beloved holy Gurujī. Holy Gurujī used to give the essence of all philosophies and holy literatures. This is thousands of years old, centuries old. So, everything in short form as key words. When you get the key in your hands, you need not have anyone go inside and explain everything to you. So if we understand the key words, we get that key, then we open that horizon in front of us. Choose it, what you want. It’s endless. Then you will say, “Now what should I choose? Our hunger is so great.” And how to satisfy our hunger? Our thirst is very, very big. And how to quench our thirst. There is a little story. In the desert, nothing is green. Even the bushes are without leaves. So animals moving through the desert, they said they bite some piece of wood or this or that, something, little things. And there was one donkey also going, eating fine, whatever it is. The donkey was eating and looking strong. But still, there was not proper eating. Then rain comes. It rained nicely. And on the third day, there was, like, a green carpet over the desert. And for five days, the grass was a few centimeters high. In ten days, it was five to six centimeters, and the donkey begins to eat. While eating, the donkey sees green everywhere: green, green, green. The donkey gave up eating. Looking so much green, I’m tired, I can’t eat. Looking is too much, I can’t eat. My joy is tired, so don’t keep standing and looking. And getting thinner and thinner, starving. So when the things were there, she didn’t eat. So when we get the key of the knowledge, then we say, “What should I study now?” The Vedas, Upanishads, philosophies, and Purāṇas—each Purāṇa is thousands of pages. What should I begin with first? How will I digest so much knowledge? So Gurudev said, “I give you the key.” And then you can take as much as you like. So Gurujī used to say, Cāra Veda se śāstra meṁ, bāta likhī hai doya, sukha diyāṁ sukha hotā hai, dukha diyāṁ dukha hoya. The four Vedas, the six philosophies—all essence of that, only two words. If you give good things to others, you will be happy. If you make others happy, you will be happy. If you make others happy, you will also be happy. If you make problems, you will get problems. So this is the essence of all the scriptures. Secondly, every creature, no matter in which form, desires only one thing: to get happiness. You will only be happy, comfortable, without fear—not only humans, but all beings. Sabhī prāṇī sukha cāhatā hai, dukha koī nahī̃ cāhatā hai; no one wants to have trouble, neither humans nor other animals. If you are searching for happiness, then first give others happiness. If you seek troubles, then you give others troubles. Therefore, Vedavākya. Vedavākya means the words of the Vedas: do not treat others as you would not like to be treated. Including the vegetation, these are the śāstras. Now, last week we had a little talk about this subject. We have two things: one is the ātmā. That is one only. That’s called one in all, all in one. Ātmā has no duality. Ātmā is with all. Then there is a second one. Also, only one, in itself, there is no duality, because that one is ever alone, always lonely, but that one is travelling, searching for the origin. Ātmā doesn’t search for the origin. The sky doesn’t search for the sky. So, the ātmā is with all, but the soul is lonely. The soul is individual, alone, here and there. When we think that I have someone with me, my one, it is only imagination. It is with you, and it is not with you. And you did not come here to have someone. And you are not coming here to take someone with you. Even in the mother’s body, you were lonely, alone, though it was twins. But still, the twins were lonely because they were two souls. So she was telling it to her twin brother in their mother’s body. “You know, we will be born.” And he said, “What is stupid? We will be born? I never heard this. From where do you think such things?” And she said, “You know, we will eat. What is that?” “What we will eat, what are stupid things. And you know, we will have different tastes.” “Sister, I know you are bigger and older than me by a few seconds.” Then they were born. He said, “You were right.” She said, “Don’t worry, my whole life I will be right.” He said, “That’s not right, injustice.” So this soul around the astral world is traced by destiny. Like a boat is lying on the beach, and every wave of the ocean hits the boat. So the boat is between the beach and the waves. Similarly, these are waves of destiny through the astral world. You came alone, you will live alone, and you will go alone, and you will be alone. Though we will have very, very blessed parents, we will have loving brothers and sisters, we will have great friends, and we will have a very good partner, and we will have many good animals, but you never know when they will separate from you. Finally, they have to separate. They are only temporarily landed here. Morning, this bird will take off again. And when you are on this earth, you are in the cage. You are in the cage, like a bird in the cage. So there is a beautiful old song. O bird of the cage, O bird in the cage, no one knows your pain. You are crying inside, and this song is very nice, beautiful. So we are the piñjare ke pañchī. Pañchī means the bird. In the case of this body, your inner pain, nobody knows. If it’s physical, we can give you an injection and a painkiller. But that which the jīvātmā has, that is searching for that eternal peace and light. That comes through our spiritual development. Your mother did not know. Your father did not know. At which second, at which time, at which hour, this soul entered the mother’s body. And even you don’t know. At what time were you descending from the astral world, or sent by destiny or God into this mortal world? Our destiny prepares all arrangements for the whole life, from birth until death. From birth means the first time the soul, the light, entered the mother’s body. And death is when, at that time, the soul will go out of the body. Between all this in life, what we experience, good and bad, that is arranged by destiny or by the Lord of Justice, Dharmarāja. So that destiny is called Śikṣā, or our future. Therefore, from birth till this day, do not blame anyone. It is our destiny. Though the parents love us a lot, brothers, sisters love us a lot, our colleagues, our friends love us a lot, and they are sitting beside you, and you are preparing to die. They hold our hands, they massage our legs, they are standing beside you and asking, “What can we do?” But akelā jāyegā, a lone one came, you have to depart alone. Among the thousands of birds sitting, one bird will fly up. We don’t know. Don’t think that we will be very old and then die. To earn something and collect something for your old age, it is your imagination only. Before we came to this earth, its days were already fixed. And with the science of prāṇa written, that many breaths are given to you. When you had that many breaths, you had no more to die. So we don’t know. Therefore, the science of prānāyāma is developed. That as much as you do the prānāyāmas and cleanse your lungs to increase your diaphragm’s capacity, you can have more oxygen and less breath. And excellence quickly is not counted as a breath. So, breath is life. Life is breath. Don’t lose your breath. Don’t let go of your breath empty. With each and every breath, the name of God. Mālavikā Śreyā, Avara Hṛdi Jo. So this is Holy Gurujī’s mantra. Oṃ Mahāprabhujī, with my each inhalation and exhalation, with ascending and descending breath, I should have your name. Mantra. Mantra of your name. So when the breath is coordinated with the mantra, that breath is not counted as empty breath. That will be counted as a real life for humans, to come to self-realization or to the height. You work, no problem. You run, no problem. You swim, no problem. But you know that you are breathing. And when you do jogging, running, marathon, Gurudev, Gurudev, Gurudev. Suddenly, an accident happens because there is no more breath left, so somehow destiny has to separate you from the body. All are sitting beside us, and this bhaṃvarā, because there is no more breath left, so all are sitting beside us. They also call it Bhaṃvarā. Bhaṃvarā means that bee, honey bee. Bhaṃvarā uḍa gayā. That bee flew. Or Haṁsa uḍa gayā. The swan has taken flight. Prāṇa chūṭa gayā, the prāṇa is left. Jīva calā gayā, the soul went away. The body is without any balance in its movements. Either our closed eyes or wide eyes are open. The mouth is open. Mayflies fly in and out, no problem. This Pañca Dhātu body, from five elements, is without any balance, control. These knots, this balance of the neck, and these strings of the neck, they are without any balance. The head is hanging already like that. And we are holding hands, looking. Nothing could help. That soul makes its journey again. The whole night, birds were on one beautiful tree. And in Brahmamuhūrta, at the dawn, they say goodbye to everybody, and they take their way, their path. But still, our relatives, our friends don’t want to let us go away. But the company is still in the graveyard. Maybe you are happy. All my relatives want to go with me in the grave. Forget it. Finally, they will say, “Now, have a rest.” That you don’t wake up, get up, so we put the earth on it. And who put the earth first? Your very dear one. They will do the first earth on you. The soul is disappointed. They throw earth on me. Now I have no relations. The essence is that the soul is kevalam, and destiny will take our life. So this life on this earth, we join a stream of a river. We join one river. The river has many curves, but the water doesn’t have curves. But we have to go like the movement of the river. So we have to live according to our culture, traditions, rules, and regulations, no matter how many curves there are. We have relations. It means to be together for a while. But still, there is duality. You see only one water, but if you see, there are very fine, fine, millions of small, small balls, drops. A beautiful river is flowing, and an island comes. Like in Budapest, there is one island called Margaret Island. So then you’re dividing. After a while, it comes together again. So sometimes your beloved one has some barriers there, as I learned. And may it come again. Or, before you come again, somebody will take a bucket full of water, and you are that one. Take it away. To feed your chickens, give them water to drink. And then they cut the neck. So, life is mysterious. Life is a mystery, and this life is not a destination; it’s only a journey. So, let’s see, sit in such a boat that we are all together. What goes with us, and what brought us here? Our karma, good or bad. When we give up this body, that time will overtake your destiny. If you go happily, or you will experience immense troubles, torturing, and what not, no one can hear us. Therefore, spirituality, spiritual knowledge, and all divine preachings are without doubt, without conflict, and without dualism. Water is water; the sun is the sun. Even if you shout at the sun, the sun does not listen and will not notice at all. So Gurudev completes us. What does it mean, “He completes us”? Please don’t expect that I will go with you. Don’t expect that I will say, “Okay, hurry on, let’s go.” Then what will they all say? He left us alone. Not the body, but that wisdom, that light. That accompanies us. But when the soul, bhaktas, goes out of the body, have only one wish: that if you have Gurudeva, all it does is you, oh my dear. That knowledge, what is a Guruvākya, is not a laddū, that you can have a laddū. These are words of wisdom, truth, light, God, spirituality, and instruction. Where do we get this? O my Lord, lead my jīvātmā to that place. That lonely, lost bird is searching for shelter. On the endless ocean, there is no shelter to sit. Tired, exhausted. Then see some boat. And with great effort, tired, he comes and sits on that boat. To find the shelter. That word says, “I have shelter here; please protect me and remove my worries.” Come, my protector. At least do that much, Gurujī, give darśana quickly, at the time when the soul is departing. O Gurudev, please, at least that much, come to me or give me your darśana. Otherwise, for some seconds or minutes of happiness, you lose it all, the sense of being human. So, sing please. Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān Kī Jai. Viśvaguru, Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara, Paramahaṁśrī, Svāmī Maheśvarānandajī, Saptaguru, Deva, Kī Jaya. So, especially when the soul departs from this mortal world, then there are two thoughts. One is what? We have missed it. For what we came, and what we did, and where we are going now. Bhagavān Śaṅkarācārya said, “Who am I? From where did I come? For what I came, and what I do, and where I will go.” So what you have missed, then you will realize your mistakes. Your positive thinking, negative thinking, your words, your actions. Don’t worry, it will come back. Good or bad. So the second thought: if they are the real bhaktas, and who are not—those who were the bhaktas but somehow lost the guru bhakti—they realize after the death, “What horrible things I did.” So that’s all he’s calling. Itanā to karanā Gurudeva, darśana jaldī denā. Gurudeva, give me again your darśana quickly. Not darśana—Harṣa. Harṣa means happiness. My Ātmā is happy. So, not “Hamārī Ātmā,” “Hamārā Darśa,” okay? Ātmā Hamārā Harṣe. All right. Thank you. Good night. Wish you all the best. Tu Najlepšie. The next webcast is at 11 o’clock in the morning. Adio.
