Lord Ganesha

Today is Gaṇeśa Caturthī, the incarnation day of Bhagavān Śrī Gaṇeśa. He is the first worshipped deity, preceding all others. His stories convey divine principles, not merely physical forms. Gaṇeśa was born to Pārvatī. While she bathed, he guarded her door. Śiva arrived and was barred entry. In anger, Śiva severed Gaṇeśa’s head. To restore him, an elephant’s head was placed upon his body, symbolizing wisdom and intellect. Gaṇeśa is the lord of all elements within the universe and within us. He grants success and removes obstacles. Worship him first in all endeavors. True fulfillment requires a pure, desireless heart. Divine grace resides within, accessed through the Guru’s blessings and sattvic living.

"Gaṇ means the elements, and Īś means the Lord. God of all elements."

"First you have to become desireless. Because if you have some desires and you put again more desires, then it’s not that."

Hari Om, Deep Nār, Bhagavān, and Kī. First, please check where you have parked your car. Some cars have already been towed away. Make sure you are parked in the proper place. Today is one of the most beautiful days. The first most beautiful day is today, called Gaṇeśa Caturthī. It means today is the birthday or incarnation day of Bhagavān Śrī Gaṇeśa. Who doesn’t know who Gaṇeśjī is? Whoever does not know is still lost in this world. Bhagavān Śrī Gaṇeśa is the God who is first worshipped. Even before Śiva, Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and all others, first is Gaṇeśajī. There are many stories about Śrī Gaṇeśa, and many times we don’t understand them. That equation comes when Śiva had a wedding with Satī. At that time, first they were doing pūjā for Gaṇeśajī. When somehow Satī gave up her life because of the humiliation towards Śiva, and so, we can always, changes come in life. You have to change even the translators. So, it is, yes, you can do. Sorry, you can do, yes. Thank you. So, Śiva was happy. He was everywhere. Shiva is everywhere. Shiva means the entire universe. Satyam, Śivam, Sundaram. Finally, the last truth is Śiva. Brahma, Satya, Jagat, Mithya. Satyam, the ultimate truth, is Śiva. Sundaram, the most beautiful one, is Śiva. Satyam Śivam, and that is Śiva. Well, you read and you saw the many times videos from the Mahāśiv Prāṇa, which I will not repeat all now. So, again, Brahmā, Viṣṇu, Nārada, and all the goddesses were requesting, asking Śiva again to marry Pārvatī, the king of the Himalayas’ daughter. Pārvatī means the mountain, and so the prince of the mountain. Her elder daughter was Gaṅgā. And Gaṅgā, after doing her work, she went to the Brahmaloka. But due to the immense sin and restlessness, hunger and drought, etc., again, the great saint Bhagīrathī made a great sādhanā, a great tapasyā. And he prayed to Brahmā to bring the holy Gaṅgā again to this earth. Well, it took many years. Many generations were praying to Brahmā to bring the Gaṅgā from Brahmaloka, the divine world. And there is a long story there again. But it is said, for example, all of you have one mālā for mantra repeating. And it has 108 beads. Finally comes the Sumeru. So, maybe each bead means one life. And then, finally, you come to liberation, to the last point. And if you miss that, again, you have to repeat. Therefore, to understand human life, what does it mean, why God gave us this human life? We should know the value of this life. Otherwise, your being here again was just like nothing. So many generations of King Sāgara, whose sons were cursed by Kapila Bhagavān because they were throwing stones at Bhagavān Kapila, and he did not make any mistake. The beautiful horse from King Sagara’s kingdom just came and entered the ashram yard of Bhagavān Kapila Muni. Kapil Muni is still one of the greatest Siddha yogīs. In the Bhagavad Gītā, Bhagavān Kṛṣṇa said, "Siddhānāṁ Kapilomuni." Among the Siddhas, I am Kapila. So, they were searching for the horse, the sons of King Sāgara. They became very angry, and they were throwing stones at Kapila Muni and hurt his head, and like this. He said, "I did not steal your horse, and when I am not stealing, how can I give it back to you? If it is here, take it." But they were angry. It is said, "Jisko Prabhu Darun Dukdeyi Uski Buddhi Pele Hi Harlayi." When the most terrible time comes in life, where suffering will come, troubles will come, then God does not want to take them on Himself. Because it is our destiny. So at that time, our viveka, the good buddhi, is moved away. And that our past karma and present karma lead us to misery and suffering. So they dared to throw the stone at Kapila Muni. And Kapil Muni opened his eyes. You see, everything has limitation. So all the sons, hundreds of sons, that King Sāgara had, I don’t know how he managed. If you have three or four children, you are exhausted, and you have sorrow. How will you feed them? So now you can see what is different between us and the people of that time. I think the queen was like a honey queen. You know, even now, the honey queen, how many eggs does she give per day? That’s the machine of creation. Well, everyone has their limitations. How much will you excuse? So Kapila Bhagavān looked on them, and they all burned into ash. There was a great saint, or god, who comes into the list of incarnations, Bhagavān Paraśurāma. And Pṛśurāmjī said very nicely, "Be careful with the water, fire, and the sādhu or yogī." Don’t take the risk of being angry or doing something. So, now King Sāgara’s other children, who were somewhere protected, began to pray that their brothers would become alive again. Ages passed, many yugas. Then it is said, only they can become alive again if Divine Mother Gaṅgā comes to this earth and the Gaṅgā touches this place where the son of Sagar died. They will again become alive. Well, Brahmā came with the prayers of the great saint Bhagīrathi. So one of the names of the Gaṅgā is also Bhāgīrathī. Brahma said, "I will try to bring her." She doesn’t want to come. She has had enough of the saṃsāra. But her power, her energy, her speed is so strong that this earth will not be capable of holding it. She will enter from Brahma Loka to this Mūrti Loka and will go to the underworld, Atal Loka. No one can stop. So Brahma said to Bhagiratha, "Pray that someone can hold the Gaṅgā." Who can bear that load, the speed? So Bhagīratha said, "I don’t know anyone. Who is here?" said Śiva. So Bhagīratha went to Bhagavān Śiva. And Śiva said, "Alright, for the sake of all creatures, vegetation, and humans, I will do it." And she came with a big rocket, and Shiva looked up and saw that she was coming. Before she came to earth, he wrapped her with his jaṭā, with his hair. He caught her like this and put her on his head. Now she wants to be on the head of Śiva; she didn’t want to come any more down. It’s very clear. That’s why many men are afraid that Shakti will sit on your head, and you can’t bear that load. So, but Śiva asked her, and she came as water on the earth, and it was flowing there till the Kapil Muni Āśram, which Āśram is still existing; it is in Ilahabad, where we go to Kumbha Melā. So, there are tales from many, many ages, yugas and yugas. And so, Śiva had a wedding with Pārvatī. And Gaṇeśjī is known as the son of Pārvatī, but the question is this. If Shiva’s son is Gaṇeśa with Pārvatī, then which Gaṇeśa was present when he married Satī and worshipped Gaṇeśa first? So with the physical form, it has little to do. It is the principles, it is the energy which is functioning in the entire universe. And that is within us too. What is in the universe is in our body, the human body. And what is not in the human body is nothing in the universe. Shiva is within us. Gaṇeśa is within us. Brahmā is within us. Vishṇu is within us, and that Gurudeva is within us. Just come to realize. Open the door of your heart. And the key is your Gurudeva’s kṛpā, blessings, and techniques. It takes a long time to become like that, but nowadays people have no time, and we take it too easy. So, it is said that when Gaṇeśajī was born, Śivajī was somewhere else. One day, Pārvatījī went for a bath, and she told her son Gaṇeśa, "Take care that nobody comes in, so be the guard." And so Ganesh, a young boy, had the power of the entire universe. That time was something, my dear. Their one finger was stronger than our whole body. They will make it like this, and we will fall down. Like an elephant, with his trunk, he does only like this, and you are somewhere. The chariot of Śakti, Durgā, Kālī, all, is the tiger. And you know, if a tiger does like this, you are going down. These are the symbols of the Śakti, and humans should also have that Śakti. That Śakti is not in your body but in your nourishment, and nourishment is not a quantity but a quality. More strength comes if you are fasting. You eat less, then you have less desire. And unnecessarily, you lose your powers and energies. The mental strength which makes our body strong. So if you have strong mental power, your very weak body can be like an elephant. So we should eat that kind of nourishing food which gives us mental strength and intellectual strength. And that is very pure food, sattvic food, vegetarian food. And ask your body how much you can digest. The food which we don’t like, we eat little. Say, "No, I am full, I can’t eat anymore." Thank you. And then comes a big ball of ice cream. Oh yes, thank you, I can do it. So how weak we are. So Pārvatī is having a bath, and Śiva came. He wanted to go into the house, into the cave. And Gaṇeśjī said, "Hey, who are you? You can’t enter." And he said, "I’m Śiva." Doesn’t matter. Stop here. Don’t go. Don’t disturb my mother. And Shiva got angry. So you see, God can also be angry. So, who am I? When I’m a little angry, he said, "Swamijī is angry." Or, who are you? When you are angry, it’s okay. But be sure your anger is only for a few seconds, outside, not inside. Shiva threw his triśūla, and Gaṇeśa’s head was chopped off. Then Pārvatī came and Śiva Vaśyakārī. Well, you can imagine what Pārvatī was saying. Better I don’t tell you. Yes. Now he had to, she said, bring my son back, that’s all. But his head had gone to the Brahmaloka. So Śiva said, "Bring the head of that mother or animal which, after giving birth, turns to the other side, and the baby’s back side is lying." And that’s the elephant. So they brought the head of the elephant’s baby. And put it on Gaṇeśa’s trunk or neck, and Gaṇeśa becomes alive again. So that was the second cloning. And the first cloning was that of the father-in-law from Śiva. Dakṣa, King Dakṣa, so many clonings were already at that time, what our scientists are proving now. But again, the question comes, my dear: the human baby’s throat, maybe at that time, was so big only. The elephant was so big, and when you put an elephant head on such a small child, then it comes all the way to the ground, and it always hangs like this. So, elephant here means intellect, wisdom; that means the elephant. And it’s that viveka, that wisdom, buddhi, which protects us. That’s what Vigan Harivar, Viganeshwarananda, who is removing all our troubles. When you place on your front door entrance Gaṇeśa’s statue, then you don’t care about Vāstu Śāstra. When grace is there, then no bad energy can flow in. And when your business is not good, put Gaṇeśa there. Ridhi and Siddhi, both prosperity, wealth, and perfection, success. That is blessed by Gaṇeśjī. So, Subha Lakshmi, Subha is Gaṇeśa, Lakṣmī is money, wealth. So, and Gaṇeśjī, it doesn’t matter how you design him or paint him, he is the most beautiful one. And his smile is so sweet, you can’t imagine. A rare one can see his lips. And a big nose means a lot of prāṇa. Gaṇ means the elements, and Īś means the Lord. God of all elements. Gaṇeśa, controller of all elements. That’s called Gaṇeśa, Gaṇeśa, the lord of all elements. And that Gaṇeśjī, who was born today, is the son of Pārvatī. So, for ages and ages, we have been remembering and celebrating Gaṇeśjī. So today is a very significant day. Exactly one year ago, I came to see this place and walked in. And what Mahāprabhujī has done, what Gaṇeśjī has done, Devpurījī has done, Gurujī has done, has become an ashram. So, our Gurudev, Swami Mādhavānandajī, said in one bhajan, "Padharo Mere Gaṇeśa." Well, today is Śrī Bhagavān Gaṇeśjī’s Incarnation Day. As much as we give, the glories of Śrī Gaṇeśajī are not enough. Whatever I told you is just like one drop in the ocean. So that is within us and outside of us, and that can change our destiny. We have to work within ourselves. Anything we do, first we should remember Gaṇeśajī, adore Him, worship Him. Then, be sure your work will be successful. So anywhere you go, even if you have a court case, pray to Gaṇeśjī and go. It will be okay, because Gaṇeśjī will write everything there for you. Yes, he can change the movement of your hand. This hand is only a medium, but with which power that pen is moving depends on that divine destiny. So there is a purification within us. So our universally worshipped Satguru Dev Swāmī Madhavānandajī, when he wrote this bhajan book, Swāmī Madhavānanda, Ānanda Prakāś, first, we have to write a bhajan for Gaṇeśajī to dedicate to Gaṇeśajī. When you write a book or anything, first you should write and dedicate it to Gaṇeśjī. Because Gaṇeśjī means intellect, buddhi, and Gaṇeśjī means viveka, so the best, the best positive buddhi. So, Holī Gurujī said, "Padhāro mere Gaṇeśa Dev, Gurū Sa, O my Gurudev, you are the Gaṇeśa, please step into my house." Padharo mere Gaṇpatī, Gaṇpatī, the Lord of all elements. Every second, every eyelid movement, Palak Palak, this is my prayer to thee. Please let me be Thy servant of Thy holy feet, that I never miss that, or I never go out of the umbrella of Thy shelter. Padhāro Merī Garbhatī Dev Guru Āśā Kṛpā Karo Guru Dev Gajānand Hṛde Karo Nivāsa. O my Gurudev, please be merciful to me and reside in my heart. Because Buddhi is here, Gaṇeśa is here, but he has to sit in our heart. Then you can write well. If you write only from here, then you can make a disaster. Those are the words of the ignored persons: ego, jealousy, hate, this, that. Who is anyhow on the door of distraction? But if this comes into the heart, it becomes divine, pure. Kirpa Karo Gurudev Gajanand, Hirde Karo Nivasha. Please have your residence in my heart. Anubhav Bani Pragat Kijo. Please open the chapter of the divine experiences. Anubhava means experience. So, give me those thoughts and wisdom of that divine anubhava. Bani means the words. Without this, you can’t write something which is positive and will inspire everyone. So, Anubhav Bānī Pragat Kī Jo, please, let it appear in my heart, those divine intuitions. Like how? You must tell how. What kind of intuition? What can you compare? This you have to decide. One man was making some magic, and he came to the king and said to the king, "I will show you some magic." The king said, "If I am happy, I will give you whatever you want. But ask me only one thing. Only one wish can I fulfill. Don’t say, 'We have to go to Mahāprabhujī. Mahāprabhujī, my back problem, please heal it.' Oh Gurujī, I sometimes have a headache, please heal it. Mahāprabhujī, my examination was terrible. What will I do? Only one. That one should be like one in all, all in one." So the king said, "I will give you one, whatever you want." So he said, "Yes." He saw a beautiful magic show. The king was showing five hours. And for five hours, the king was laughing so much that his stomach muscles were sore. He said, "Stop, I cannot laugh, I can’t laugh." He said, "Okay, Your Highness, I did my service." Ask anything. What do you want? Money, land, kingdom, whatever you want. He said, "What will I do with all that you said? Is it anything? It will be yours." He said, "I don’t want it all. I want only one, then tell. You should be my servant. Hari Om." So with this, when you win the king, you win the whole kingdom, everything. Anubhavbānī Parāgatī Kījo, please give me such an intuition, the words, inspiration in my heart. Like what? Jai Se Bhān Prakāśa, like the light of the sun. The light of the sun, then we don’t need any kind of lights there. And the light of the sun is endless, so such a wisdom we need. We need such a love. But if you have in the heart this desire, that desire, you are lost. Then anyone can, like this, and you are blown away. Padhāro mere Gaṇpati Dev Guru, āśā palak palak merī yehī āraj hai, rakho charaṇoṁ meṁ dāsa. Please come, Gurudev, my again and again request of prayer, let me be thy servant. At Your Holy Feet. Anyone who comes to You, please give them all kinds of happiness. Bless them with all kinds of happiness. Ki Jo Saravduk Nasa, please remove all their troubles. He didn’t say it for himself only, Holy Gurujī. Anyone who comes to thee, please remove their troubles and bless them with happiness. Kāla, Jāla, Kubbada, Mitrajo, please remove their accidents, the tricks or cheaters, protect them from the cheaters and thieves. Meto Jamki Trasa, and please remove from them the troubles of the yama, the death, fears of the death. Padāro Mere Gaṇpatī Dev Gurashad. Please, Gaṇpatī Jī, come. Charachari Mein Aap Virajo Mahāprabhujī, where should I search you? You are in each and every entity. O Ganesh, you are in each and every creature. Charāchārī mein āp virajo. In this mortal world, you are omnipresent. Vyāpak jaisī ākāśa, how are you present in everyone? How should I imagine? Because I don’t know which creatures are where and how they are. Therefore, O Lord, be with all of us like the sky, everywhere equal. So I wish that you are everywhere, within everyone, as happiness, joy, knowledge, etc., equal like the sky. Gaṇeśa Dhyāve Sadā Sukha Pāve. Those who worship Śrī Gaṇeśajī will always have happiness. They will always get sukha, the good life. Pure mankī asā and He can fulfill our desires. But first you have to become desireless. Because if you have some desires and you put again more desires, then it’s not that. Our pot should be very clean. Very pure, very clean. Then we can put something good. But in this pot, you have put so much garbage. We can’t put nectar inside. So pure mankī asa, so all your wishes, whatever you wish in your mind, will be fulfilled. But first you have to become the desireless. Śrī Pūjā Dīp Dayālu Gaṇamī, O Universally Worshipped Bhagavān Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Mahāprabhujī, you are the Gaṇeśa. I repeat thy name, O Mahāprabhujī, with each and every breath, ascending and descending breath. Inhaling Prabhudīp, exhaling Prabhudīp, inhaling. Know my breath goes empty without thy name, O Gajānanjī, O Gurudev, Mahāprabhujī. Mahāprabhujī kī Karatā Mahāprabhujī kī Karatā... So, my dear, today is Gajānanjī’s Incarnation Day, and it is one year of this beautiful āśram. When I first came, stepping into this āśram, I welcome all of you. I will be here tomorrow also, I think, and the day after tomorrow until noon. So, those who cannot come tomorrow during daytime, come for satsaṅg. Wish you all the best and a very divine evening. And I pray to Mahāprabhujī for your divine protection. And I would like to thank all our bhaktas of this beautiful place, Filah, and our dear Sādhvī Dayā, and all these bhaktānand, and our Pārvatī from Simen here, and there are so many all here. So how nice and clean you keep this ashram, this is your benefit. I pray to Mahāprabhujī to protect all those who come to this ashram, under this roof. May they achieve peace, happiness, good health, and spiritual development. Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān Kī Jai, Devpurī Samādeva Kī Jai, Mādhav Kṛṣṇa Bhagavān Kī Jai, Satya Sanātana Dharma Kī Jai, Oṁ Śānti Śānti Viśvaguru Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara, Śrī Parāṁth Svāmī Jī, Maheśvarānandajī, Gurujī, Devavatī Jai.
