Satyam Shivam Sundaram

The path of truth is realized through mantra and inner transformation. Satyam is the ultimate truth, Brahman, which is Śiva. This truth is beauty and divine bliss, not a physical form. The world is an illusion, like water bubbles. Singing and mantra are calls to God that lead to oneness. Concentrate on the Maṇipūra, Anāhata, and Ājñā cakras. The resonance begins from the Oṃkāra Bindu in the Maṇipūra. Meditating on this leads to liberation. A point comes in life when a profound change enters the subconscious. One must make a firm resolution from the heart and mind to stop a negative habit or attachment. This applies to work, relationships, or addictions. The story of Vālmīki shows that only the name of God, through mantra, can purify accumulated karma. Mantra converts negative qualities into positive ones. Sanātana Dharma is eternal and continuous, unlike other traditions which may have closed chapters. The lineage carries the same light. All spirituality originates from the Vedas.

"Brahma Satya, Jagat Mithyā – that truth is the Brahman or the Swayambhū, the Śiva."

"Only the name of God, mantra. That mantra can purify you from this karma. There is no other way."

Filming locations: Ringas, Rajasthan, India.

Everyone will sing the glorious praises of Śiva. Navel, heart, and Ājñā chakra. Satyam Śivam Sundaram. Good? You like it? What does it mean? Satyam means the truth, the ultimate truth. Brahma Satya, Jagat Mithyā – that truth is the Brahman or the Swayambhū, the Śiva. That is Śiva. Jīva and Śiva become ātmā in the heart. At that time, all darkness disappears. Ānanda – it appears as the divine bliss. Singing has different meanings, different effects. One is just a good melody. Second is the call to God, a call of the soul. And last is that oneness with that Supreme. Lead us to that truth. The Shiva consciousness is beauty. Truth is beauty, love is beauty, and that is Śiva. Not a physical form. That’s beyond that. So you take your posture like a meditation and fold your hands like this, concentrate on the Maṇipūra cakra, Anāhata cakra, and Ājñā cakra. Satyam, Maṇipūra, from where the resonance begins. That is the Oṃkāra Bindu. Bindu means dot, in our Maṇipūra. Every day, with the dot, with the Bindu, yogīs are meditating in their heart. Which leads to liberation. Oṁ Kār Vindu Sayuktam Nityadhyāyanti Yogīnaṁ Kāmaṁ Mokṣaṁ Śiva Oṁ Kāraya Namoḥ Namaha. This is the mantra. So, hold your hands and don’t be in a hurry. Sing nicely. Feel the resonance. The truth. Truth is God. Truth is Brahman. Brahma-satya. Brahma-jñāna is the truth. Jagat-mithyā. This world is illusion. Whatever you can see, whatever you can touch, whatever you can feel is all just like water bubbles. Sooner or later, it has an end. But that is not the truth. That is Brahma Satya Satyam. That’s why our Satgurudev Gurujī said in one bhajan he’s writing, "Satya path chalana." Gurujī said, "Satya path chalana," walk on the path of that truth, of the Brahman. You know the holy book of the Rāmāyaṇa. It was written by the great, great seer, Saint Vālmīki. The story of Vālmīki is very interesting. Vālmīki was a bandit, a criminal. He used to take everything away from people on the way and kill them. One day, a saint comes, and he wanted to take everything away from him, that Vālmīki, and kill him. Vālmīki was a tribe who lived in the forest. The saint said, "I have nothing. You can take everything. I have an orange dress, that’s all. You can have the body too, but you can’t kill me. I am the Ātmā. I have neither fear nor pain, so I am not afraid. But you know what you are doing? You are getting very, very bad karmas. I am asking you, why are you doing this? For what?" He said, "To feed my family." In everyone’s life, a day comes. A constellation comes that takes a big change in your mind. Many times, you would like to change, but you can’t. But sometimes comes such a constellation, and you say, "No, I will not do anymore. There is no therapy for an alcoholic." Yeah, okay, for a few days. For weeks or months or a year, but when the alcoholic sees the alcohol bottle again, the desire comes to drink. It’s not easy, but sometimes one meets someone and tells. Why don’t you stop it? That alcoholic person, okay, finish from today on, no more, forever and ever. Even he doesn’t dream of alcohol. So changes come in life, and then you should accept it. Let it go deep in your subconscious. Now I am not a prisoner or a slave to alcohol. How many things were destroyed because of my drinking? My partner is unhappy, my children are suffering, my parents are unhappy, my friends are unhappy, my employees are unhappy, and my money is gone. Why, that friend, such a friend is dear to you, the alcohol? You are the hero, and you can say no more. There were two questions about depression and something more about psychic problems. So this is an answer for you too. You need not come for consultation. So suddenly changes come, and you make such a good saṅkalpa. In my case, I can tell you, since 1979, I met Dr. Śāntī. She’s a dentist, and she saw my teeth, paradentosis, and she said, "Don’t eat sugar, don’t eat sugar," and she introduced me and gave me the artificial sugar, what you call, saccharin. That time was very modern in some countries, in many countries. So since that time, I began to take, sometimes I drank 20-30 teas, and it was 30-40 tablets. I wanted to give up, but Shanti stayed beside me. Please don’t take sugar! So no sugar, no honey. Sweet life was bye-bye. And I’m taking. Now, before six or seven months, one person said to me, before also many people told, but I said, "OK, OK, I will do." But one person said, "Swamiji, please, for the sake of your health, don’t take any more of this saccharin." And I said, "Okay, I will not take anymore." And now, since that time, I’m not taking. And when I mistakenly put it in my tea, I don’t like the taste. I’m free. I’m liberated. From what? This saccharin. Similarly, sometimes in life comes a point, a constellation, which goes deep into your subconscious and you stop it. This can be a problem with the work. With partners, friends, jobs, money, illnesses, drugs, many things. But if you really make from your heart and from your brain both together, I will do this now. You will be successful, and many people told me that at the time already. It’s not good, this artificial sugar, it’s a chemical. Only to save your teeth. You will have many other problems, health problems. But young person, strong, I said, "I practice yoga, I am a yogī, I will not become old." But illusion, that’s it. Time will bring everything. So that Vālmīki, he said, "I do for my family and for myself," and... My friends, will they share with you this karma? Of course, the saint said, "No. Go and ask your father, mother, and wife if they will share this karma. I will wait for you. Then you can kill me or do what you like." He said, "Such clever people I have met many times. Until I go home and come back, you are kilometers far away." So he said, "Then tie me on the tree." So Vālmīki tied that saint, and with Vālmīki he had some friends. Take care that he doesn’t run away. Don’t be afraid. And Vālmīki goes home, and the father says, "Son, you came home too early today," and he asks the question, "Father, I do terrible things, will you share with me the karma?" Father said, "No, you are my son, and you have your dharma to take care of me, feed me, help me. How you bring your money, or whatever, it is your karma. I can’t share your karma with me." Mother also said the same thing. The wife also said the same thing. So he asked his wife, "It means I will suffer." She said, of course. Poor husband. Boys, careful. So he came back. And the ṛṣi was sitting there. The friends of the Vālmīki disappeared. They freed him, the ṛṣi. So he said, "Who freed you? These few men who were here, where are they?" They were afraid and disappeared. They were not my friends. It seems a great disappointment. So Vālmīki said, "How to get rid of this karma?" So he said, "Only the name of God, mantra. That mantra can purify you from this karma. There is no other way." So, Guruji, research this all. Our bhajans of our Gurudev, our linens, they are the essence of Vedas, Upaniṣads, and all the Vedic science. But you have to understand. It is true that the world is very selfish, and where there is dealing with position, power, and wealth, your real sister and brother become your enemy. Even the parents and children, my dear, these three things are very, very complicated or dangerous. Position, power, and wealth. In old times, I remember when I was a small boy, five years, six years, and we saw on the walls it was written "3W." Now you have the website, web, internet, www, no? So I was with Gurujī and I was reading in Hindi, "Be careful, sāvdhān." So I said, Gurujī, sādhanā I understand, Indī, but what is written like this, what is that painting? I was with Gurujī in one beautiful village near Kailāśa. This village is called Ringas. And there was one man who was making alcohol. In India, not everyone can do it; you have to have a license. So he was a bhakta of Gurujī. And his whole family never drank one spoon of wine. Otherwise, you will think that, oh, Gurujī is there with wine men. But you know, greed is the biggest temptation to make a mistake or to sin. So we were sitting there, and Gurujī asked the man, "Do you put something inside that people don’t realize?" He said, "Gurujī, only you are our Gurudev, so I can tell you. That all members of our house in the night have a bed pot. Means urinating. So they all put urine in one bucket and mix in the alcohol to gain the money. And sometimes they have no alcohol anymore. But a drunken person is coming and saying, 'Give me, give me more, I want to have.' So he tells some of his children, 'Go quickly to the toilet.' And put it in the bottle, and that person is sitting outside and drinking. It’s not a joke; it happens." So, such a person can change too. So I asked Gurujī, what is this painting like this? I did not know English; I did not even know the name "English." So, Gurujī said, "My previous name, this is a warning." W, W, W. So I said, what is that? So Gurujī said, "Be careful with three W’s." And these three W’s are wealth, wine, and women. Yes? And these three things are life today. That can break all the relations: this alcohol and money. Brother to brother, sister to sister, friend to friend, colleague to colleague. So, Dr. Shanti, I told her, I stopped taking this saccharin. Shanti said, "Thanks to Mahāprabhujī." She said, "I mean, not that you must take it, but you couldn’t give up sweetness, so better to take this than the other." Well, my dear, Vālmīki said, Ṛṣi, "How to get rid of this sin?" He said, "Name of the God, Rāma. I give you the name, mantra: Rāma, Rāma." Repeat it. It changed into the divine vibration. All animals and birds were looking to see where the sound was coming from. And when he was killing the Vālmīki, other people, and people were screaming, animals and all were frightened, birds flew away. So that is the name of God, divine. But he had always in his mind to kill, kill, kill the people, Vālmīki. And that means maro, maro... kill, kill. Mar, mar. It is opposite to the Ram. Vālmīki tells him, "Rām." And he said, "Yes, mār." "Not mār, Rām." "Yeah, mār." So the ṛṣi said, "OK, keep on saying 'mar, mar, mar'." After three or five times, it turns to the Rām, Rām, Rām. Vālmīki sat in meditation for years and years. The termites were making holes above him. The snakes have their holes inside. When you get into samādhi, nature takes care of your body. There is one picture from many, many yugas, from Satyugas, about one ṛṣi, Mārtaṇḍa. And still, he is sitting in glaciers, and someone made the picture. It is not a fairy tale; it’s reality. India is a living spirituality, and India always gave the sense to the world, incarnation to the world. South India gave the ācāryas, great learned ones, philosophers. And North India gave incarnations, both beauties together. So Vālmīki became a great saint and Trikāla Darśī; he could see past, present, and future. And he writes the story of God Rāma before his incarnation and after also. He knew who is Rāma, who will be the Rāma, where he will be born. Every minute of his life he could describe. That is trikāla darśī, triyatitam, above all three levels, through mantra. Other kriyās, priyās, triyās, griyās, griyās, all the things, that’s only when you eat some good food, then you have some little tasty things, little pickle and little spices and little chutneys. But mainly this is different. So, mantra. And that mantra is the Vedas. Everything, everything came from the Vedas. Let’s see the Bible. What was before the Bible? What was before that? Who introduced spirituality? Who introduced God? That is Sanātana Dharma. All present religions are the shoot-out, what you call the branches of the Sanātana. The difference between Sanātana Dharma and other dharmas is that almost every other dharma has closed the chapter. For example, Sikhism. There is now, but there will be no other gurus. The only guru is the Gurū Granth Sāhib, that’s all. And in Islam, the Mohammed. And in Christianity, the Jesus, the Father. But Sanātana Dharma continues. That will never stop. That is the Sanātana. You see how many sannyāsīs are sitting here? Now there will be so many gurus. They will have many disciples, and they will carry on further. So this sanātana dharma remains alive. From one lineage, one head is there. But it does not mean that others have nothing. Others have the same power, same abilities, if they practice. If they are in doubt, then they are out. So the paramparā, you have to keep it. You cannot say, "Well, I was a disciple of Mahāprabhujī, I am Mādhāvānandajī, okay, but I don’t trust you, I don’t believe." Or you say, "Well, my Gurujī was a holy Gurujī. I follow Holī Gurujī. Swāmījī is okay, but..." So you did not understand. You know, Holī Gurujī was with us. He was with me, but now he is not with me. But he is inside us now; he is inside, one with us. So, paramparā, gaḍī, the cloth is different, but the light is the same. That you have to understand. So that mantra which comes out, this is Vedas, Brahmavākya, not a human voice, not created by humans. It will take time for humans to understand again. And one has to turn to that again, back. Each mantra converts our negative qualities into positive ones. Always take care that negative energy doesn’t enter. And so now you will have a practical session, and the webcast we will end. So let me know your experiences. Ātmā Anubhūti. Bhagwan Śaṅkarācārya said, "Śrī Harim Param Ānandam Upadeṣṭam Īśvaram Vyāpakam Sarvalokenaṁ Kāraṇaṁ Tam Namāmyaṁ Śrī Harim Param Ānandam." That I pray to that Gurudeva who is the Śrī Hari, param ānanda, the highest bliss. Upadeṣṭā, about that which you hear, speak, that is Īśvara. That Gurudev who is talking is Īśvara. Karanam, he is the kāraṇa of the entire creation. Koṣ. Namāmyam, I bow down. Oṁ Śoham Śaguṇa Brahma Śrīdhi Pāparipuraṁ Nārāyaṇa Namaḥ.
