Help for Nepal

Compassion and selfless service are the supreme spiritual practice. A devastating calamity has struck Nepal, causing immense suffering. The global community, especially India, has provided immediate relief through funds, personnel, and rescue operations. True spirituality manifests as active compassion, seeing all beings as one family. Service to others cleanses the heart and brings profound inner peace, connecting the individual soul to the Supreme. The physical practice of yoga is valuable, but its essence is the union of body, mind, and spirit, symbolized by the sacred sound Om. This universal science of harmonization transcends all religious boundaries.

"Helping hands have more value than folded hands."

"Seva is the supreme Dharma. There is nothing greater than Seva."

Part 1: Compassion in Action: A Call for Nepal Oṃ Kārvindu Sayuktaṃ Nityadāyantī Yogina Kāṃdaṃ Mokṣadaṃ Jīva Oṃ Kārayināmonāmā Brahmanandaṃ Paramasukhadaṃ Kevalaṃ Jñānamūrtiṃ Dvandātītaṃ Gaganasadṛśyaṃ Tasmāsyādilakṣaṃ Ekaṃ Nityaṃ Vimalāchalaṃ Sarvadhi Sākṣībhūtaṁ Bhāvātītaṁ Mātṛguṇarahitaṁ Satgurutvaṁ Namāmyahaṁ Oṁ Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ... Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān Kī Jaya, Śrī Śrī Devpurīśa Mahādeva Indu Dharma Samrāṭ Satguru Svāmī Madhavānandajī Bhagavānakī Satya Sanātana Dharma Kī. Blessed Self, spiritual seekers, dear brothers and sisters, here and in other parts of the world. Welcome, all of you, after a long time. We are at least together through this webcast. I do believe you are all well and are doing your sādhanā. The blessings today are coming from the holy Bhārat, holy India, the city of wisdom. The second Kāśī is Jaipur. Welcome, all of you. The subject today is about Karuṇā and Dayā, which will be spoken by our respected Paramahaṁsa Puṣpājī, the leader of the Yoga Center of Jaipur. The Yoga Center of Jaipur is one of the oldest ones and was established by His Holiness Brahma Līṇ Śrī Svāmī Ānandānandajī Mahārāj. I dedicate my respect and adoration, my Pushpanjali, to Śrī Svāmī Ānandānandajī Mahārāj, whom I knew very well. He was very kind. I dedicated, in his name, one yogic posture called Ānandāsana. Because they call it Śavāsana—Śavāsana, marī huī lāś, a dead body. So many people have a psychic trauma that you are teaching them to die. So that name is called Ānandāsana. Our respected Svāmījī Ānandānandajī Mahārāj was the best friend of our Gurujī and of all our brothers. Many of you know our respected General of the Police of Rajasthan, who is now retired, Śrī Kanayalālji. He has been visiting our many international conferences and is going to open this program. The concentrated subject is what I used to say always: helping hands have more value than folded hands. My dear brothers and sisters around the world, still our neighbor country, our neighbors, our brothers and sisters of Nepal are suffering. Many have died under the rocks. There is no approach; no vehicles can go, and of course many people are afraid to go there. If one rock moves, maybe many rocks will fall down, and they are afraid. But around the world, every country has sent a lot of help: financially, with food, clothes, doctors, etc. But still, there are many who have broken legs; still, they are living. They can’t walk, and the doctor can’t reach that place. India has sent the army. India has sent, from all over India, the officers, the workers, the doctors to Nepal, and especially from Rajasthan. The Rajasthan government has sent many people and expertise. They have been there for the last week. You know, my dear ones, and I thank you very much for contributing the donation, which we gave, 2.1 million rupees. Thank you very much. Mahāprabhujī karatā he kevalam trikar dṛṣṭi, to see through and through mālavikṣepa and āvaraṇa. So we have āvaraṇa. Thank you, and we would like to welcome our dear D.G. The floor is yours, sir. All brothers and sisters of the world who are viewing this telecast along with Svāmī Māheśvarānandajī, my salutation to the Guru Mādhavānandajī. My name is Svāmī Māheśvarānandajī, and my felicitation to all the members of Yoga in Daily Life. Today, it’s a great day for me that I am here with Paramahaṁsa Svāmī Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Maheśvarānandajī, and I have gotten an opportunity to see all of you, meet all of you, and interact with all of you through this webcast. Fortunately, we have suffered a calamity in our adjoining country of Nepal. The whole world knows about the destruction which has been caused to the human beings, the property, and all the other belongings of that small country. It was shocking news for the entire world. We came to know that even their Prime Minister was away. He was not present in that country when this disaster took place, and our Prime Minister, he just tweeted this thing, and the government of Nepal and the Prime Minister of Nepal could come to know of this thing. Before they could react, our country, every citizen, our government, they reacted to this disaster, and they rushed all sorts of relief by way of Indian forces, helicopters, and planes. They provided all other resources, medicines, and food, and took up the work of rescuing the people who were trapped in that debris and the demolished buildings. And our National Disaster Management Force, the NDRF, was pressed into service. Battalions of that force were rushed to Nepal, and they rescued so many people who were trapped and who were injured, providing great help to the citizens and all the persons present in Nepal. India has emerged, our country has emerged as the relief provider, not only to Nepal but to other countries also, wherever such calamities take place. Just now, Svāmījī mentioned that we always follow the principle of Vasudeva Kuṭumbakaṁ. Every human being is our brother and sister, and we treat them like that, and we come to their rescue. We provide them all help whenever they need it, and accordingly, we provided help to the people who suffered this calamity in Nepal. Yoga in Daily Life also came forward and donated a huge amount of money, over 2 million, to the people of Nepal through the government of Rajasthan. Our Svāmījī personally visited the Honourable Chief Minister of Rajasthan and presented this sort of relief through the Government of Rajasthan to the people of Nepal. We would like to thank all the fellow devotees, our brothers and sisters, who have contributed toward this cause, and we thank all of them. We are further trying to muster more support for the people of Nepal, and India will never be lagging behind in providing relief to the people who have suffered this kind of calamity. I thank all of you and say Hari Om, and thanks to all of them. Jai Hind, Vande Mataram. First of all, let’s chant Oṃ three times. Everyone, sit straight. Take a deep breath through your nose. Take a deep breath through your nose again. Rub your palms well. Put your hands on your eyes. Sachmuch, ye Bhāratvarṣ deśh hamārā ek aisā deśh hai, jo ek dūsre ko itnā matlab batāyā gayā hamāre Ved ke andar. In it, it is explained that just as a cow does, licking her calf with her tongue, she removes all its impurities. Similarly, O humans, love one another, and among you, there is no one great and no one small. Ek to uskā kiyāvā karam jātā hai, ek uskī Prabhu kā nām jātā hai. Kyā jab manuṣya ho jātā hai, marnā jātā hai, to uske sāth do uske jātā hai? Ek acchā karam, Paramātmā kā. To hum, jo jitnā bhī ho sake, vahān ke liye, jo bhī āp kī apnī śraddhā ho, jitnā bhī āp se bane, to hum Nepāl vālōn ke liye, main bhī apnī taraf se kuch karnā chāhtī hoon, Pūjya Svāmījī ko āśvāsan detī hoon, aur āp sab log bhī adhik sahayatā kare, kyōnki yahī ek samay ātā hai ki hum kitnā dūsrōn ke liye kar sakte hain. Apnī ātmā ke tullī hī hum dūsroṁ ke ātmā ko tullāy jaisā. Abhī pūjya Svāmījī mā ne batāyā, "Vāsudeva kuṭumbakaṁ, sarī vasudhā kuṭumb hai. Yasmin sarvāṇi bhūtāni." Ekatam Manu paśyate sab munuṣī apnī ātmā ke tullī hai, jaisī amarī ātmā vaisī hī hai aur pūjya Svāmījī kī, main āpko kyā batāūṁ, unke andar paśu pakṣoṁ ke prati bhī itnā jyādā hai, gayā ke prati itnā jyādā hai. Ke ye log bolte nahī hai, to inke prati jyādā se jyādā honā chāhiye. Pujya Svāmījī, Pujya Gurudev, Madhavānandajī, Mahārāj Jī said that Seva is the supreme Dharma. Seva is the greatest Dharma. There is nothing greater than Seva. So, Seva, Prem, Karuṇā, Dayā, this is what unites a human being. God says that you don’t worship anything, but you have served others, you have cleared your sorrows for others; there is nothing greater than this. There was a Mahātmājī who used to do a lot of sādhanā and pūjā every day, but he still did not have peace in his mind. One night, a person was very sad, very, very sad, very, very sad. So at that time, he served him the whole night. So the result of this was that when he woke up in the morning, he said, "I have never had such peace in my life as I have today." But that peace is achieved through service. So, try to get rid of other people’s problems and see how much peace you get in your heart. How much does that mean? Svāmījī Mahārāj Jī, our Gurujī, used to say, "Just serve others." They always ask whether others got milk or not, whether they got buttermilk or not. They always say to serve others, to solve others’ problems. God is in all human beings. God is in everyone. That is why it is said in our scriptures, "Īśāvāsyam idaṁ sarvaṁ yat kiñca jagatyāṁ jagat, tena tyaktena bhuñjīthā mā gṛdhaḥ kasya svid dhanam." This whole world is made up of God. When a person believes that there is God everywhere, that there is God in everything, then he will never fall in love with anyone, he will love everyone. Then we have to consider everyone as our own; we consider everyone as our own. What else can be more than this? Everyone has an Īśa Machine. How much was his, that the bullet that he is hitting, the nail that he is hitting, he says to the Lord to forgive him, he does not know what he is doing. So how much was there in his heart? So what can I say more? I just request Svāmījī Mahārāj Jī only this much: give me the blessings in my heart that I also have compassion. For the people, have compassion for the people. Have compassion. If your mind becomes pure, then your soul will be connected to the Supreme Soul, and if it is connected to the Supreme Soul, then we will get happiness, peace, and bliss. So let us serve the Lord. God is more happy than all this. Oṁ Śānti. So, you want me to appeal to my people in America to Yoga in Daily Life Foundation in Australia, Yoga in Daily Life Foundation in Australia or India? India, Yoga in Daily Life Foundation in Australia, no, New Delhi. Friends, Svāmījī, Svāmījī, Dījī, Puṣpājī, I am no speaker. I have come to Jaipur to actually get treatment for allergies. All my life I have suffered from this, and the only recourse is yoga. It is sad when a calamity happens. Calamities, sorrow, transgressions, boundaries. It is universal. And at this time, we have to look beyond ourselves, look beyond our boundaries, and stop looking at differences about nations, caste, creed, races, and think of humanity as one. The recent disaster in Nepal hits home, and I appeal to all of you and to all my friends who may hear this in the Silicon Valley, in the United States where I live, that friends, let’s come together, let’s help our neighbor, let’s donate to Yoga in Daily Life, Yoga in Daily Life Foundation. It has a branch office in Delhi, and all of you who know me, who may want to contribute to this, when I get back, please contact me, and we’ll find a way to get the money, and we’ll get the funds to Nepal. I personally announce that I will give a cheque of 51,000 rupees. Two pieces. Yes. Kedona. Among us, there is sitting one Brahma Ṛṣi, and he is going to sing a bhajan of the Dayā, Karuṇā, Śānti, Viśva Śānti, Nepal ke liye. So Brahma Ṛṣi jī, āye āp, and please sing one bhajan. Dharam Dukh Door Ho Jaye, Daya Ho Jaye, Mishrilal Jī, Brahma Ṛṣi, P. Thawla, Nagor. Daya is the root of Dharma, sin is the root of pride. Do not leave any kind of mercy until it is lost. All the gentlemen, the best thing in the 84 lakhs is humanity. So what is the specialty of human beings that makes us human again and again? And that too in Bhāratkhaṇḍa. In Choriyā Sīlā Zon, 27 lakh grass, 9 lakh water, 11 lakh grass, 10 lakh corn, 23 lakh animals, and 4 lakh human beings. Mahāprabhujī kī Karatā Mahāprabhujī kī Karatā... Amṛt, Dharm Chakravartī, Mādhavānandjī Mahārāj, Sarvam Jagadguru, Mahāmaṇḍaleśvar, Paramāṁ Chiyogī Rāj Śrī, Maheśvarānandjī Mahārāj, such divine souls, sent by God, God has sent them in their own form, where there is mercy, Kabira, we have come into the world. Kabira, we have come into the world. The world laughs, we cry. There is a lot of happiness. This Jīvatana Mahārāj, in this world, family... So even today, I have been blessed by Mahātma Nānak Jī Mahārāj, and I have been blessed by him for many lifetimes. So even today, I don’t get a day or a moment in my life when I am not blessed by Mahātma Nānak Jī Mahārāj. He used to hold me in his arms and take me away. And what was his age at that time? He was 82 years old. And so much love to Mahārāj Jī Śrī. So let me tell you about this, about dharma, about compassion. Part 2: The Power of Prayer and the Essence of Yoga When the mind becomes troubled by sorrow and despair spreads in all directions, when not even a single ray of hope is visible, do not pray while observing the fleeting moments of the world. Instead, pray while observing the fleeting moments of the world. You can pray to God for them. Your sorrows are the sorrows of all of us. Prathnā Kare Jagat Ke Pāl Nihāre Se. Wo ek karma kī rekhā hai, wo sab kā bhāg bhī detā hai. Sab kī hai, usse khabar. Prathnā kare, prathnā kare, jagatī ke pāl nihāre se. Prathnā kare, prathnā kare, kaun se? Av to pooncha, chotī dhāma, sabh santa kā śarīra kāma, bekhri, madhyama, paśyantī aur parā. Parā se jo prathnā hogī, usme hamārī mā kī hazrī hogī, usme hamārī sunvāī hogī. The tragedy which happened in Nepal, as described by respected DG Saab, Kaṇelālī Bhairava, through his voice and words—what he heard and saw in the pictures, on the television, in the media—my dear brothers and sisters, you have also likely watched this. He explained what happened and how quickly the government of India took action, with the whole army, doctors, and food arriving because Nepal is our neighbor, close to us in the Himalayas. According to him, there are still some people who are needy and suffering. We shall do something. We pray that it should not happen to any creature, any human, or any forest or river. Brahma Ṛṣi Miśrīlāl Jī, a devotee of Gurujī, Holī Gurujī, is a great person. He has a very great voice; he doesn’t need a microphone. Here, the Jāṭharāgni, Nābhi—he is speaking, he is singing from the Nābhi. Para, Paśyantī, and Bekharī. Parā is in the navel, Paśyantī is in the vocal cords, and Bākhari is in the lips. Nādṛūpa Parabrahma, the seat of the sound, is in the Maṇipūra Cakra, the Nābhi. Nabi Kamal spoke: "Well, the greatest help we can do is to pray for them." And we do pray with our hearts for those who are suffering and those who have lost their dear ones: fathers, mothers, parents, children, husbands, wives, and animals. Many, many cows, buffaloes, many other humans, and other creatures are victims of this very big disaster. It is easy to manage or do something on flat land, but this is in the high mountains, the Himalayas, which are some of the highest mountains in the world. Though the Himalaya is the highest, it is the youngest mountain range in the world. So, with little earthquakes and vibrations, many rocks and glaciers were moved, and many died. Jab jab man ghabrāye, tum prathānā karo. Jab rāsta nazar nahī̃ āye, tum prathānā karo. It is said, when the day is dark and dreary, it is hard to find the way. Just keep one thought in your mind: light the candle in the darkness. When you don’t find the path—it is dark, hazy, foggy—don’t lose your confidence and your faith. Better to light a candle than stand in the darkness. That candle is a candle of hope, that positive thinking, a confidence, a belief in God; He will help. As Mrinaljī said, we have not seen Him, no one has seen that Brahman, but He is within us, around us. Many sitting here, bhaktas—one of our dear friends, who originated from India and is living in America, is an engineer, and he came here for yogic and āyurvedic treatment. You see, finally we have to come back to naturopathy; we have to come to nature. So he feels much better. He had an ulcer problem, and he feels much better. He is happy and thankful. We don’t know how many kilos of tablets he was taking from this doctor, that doctor. Allopathic medicine has an immediate effect but more side effects. Āyurveda is very safe, but Āyurveda says, "Āyurveda dāvāise parīṣ jadā hamārī help karega." Prevention is more than treatment. So Āyurveda is the first medical system in this world. Some people and some Āyurvedic vaidyas nowadays are saying Āyurveda is 5,000 years old, from the time of Caraka. Ara Charak to abhi hua hai. Āyurveda began at that time, the form of Parabrahma. Ekohaṁ Bahusyāmī—I am one, and now I will multiply myself. That was consciousness, universal consciousness. The space and consciousness between is that Śakti; that’s called Yoga. Uniting, balancing, harmonizing. These are the three qualities or definitions of Oṁ. And Yoga. Oṁ Kāra Bindu Sanyuktaṁ Nitya Dhyānti Yogīnaḥ. Akhāṛā, Ukhāṛā, Makhāṛā. Akhāṛā, Ukhāṛā, Makhāṛā. The form, the sound, and the awakening. Within this becomes the Yoga. Yoga is not a part of any religion. But yoga is not a part of any religion, but all religions are part of yoga. Because Dharma, Mantra, Yantra, Tantra, Prathānā, Ukāra, Makāra—whatever in any religion you are repeating or saying, the definition of God is that which comes from that first "Na," the Rūpa of Parabrahman. That is Oṁkāra. Do not take Oṁ as a religious symbol. I am sorry for that. I am ashamed that the Indian government managed to make an international day of yoga, but they removed Oṁ. That is not correct. You did not represent yoga properly. My dear, just twisting the body up and down, this is not yoga. I am so surprised. I am born in India. I am an international Baba. How can it happen that the Indian government does not know what yoga is? Challenge my challenge. Āsana, prāṇāyāma, netī, dhotī, bastī, naulī, trataka, kapālabhātī. If you announce yoga, represent in a proper way what yoga is. Therefore, all my dears around the world who are listening to me, and all other yoga teachers and centers, please write to the government of India. Why? We are questioning them: why did you remove the symbol Oṁ from yoga? One way they say it is the science of yoga—body, mind, consciousness, and spirituality. So, where is the posture connected to spirituality? Where is the posture representing the consciousness? Where is the posture compared with the posture of the mind? Physical, this is called Yoga Vyāyam, and through this Yoga Vyāyam, certain systems in the body will be harmonized. But Yoga is not only the exercises; Yoga is beyond that. And being the motherland of Yoga, it is the first duty of the government of India to represent Yoga in a better way. Don’t be fearful. Don’t think the world will say this is Hindu. What have you against Hindus? What have you against Hindus? Tell me, is there any lack in Hinduism? Why are you afraid? If we write a poem, we will say it is a religion. Oh wow, cowards! Three decorated countries, Satī, Sant and Sūr, and three lured countries, Kāptī, Coward and Karūr. So, have you become a crore? Are you scared? Nahī to rahiye banj, bāt gamāyī, nūr tīn sajāvat deśhko śhānti, sant arsūr aur tīn lajāvat deśhko kāpṭī kair karūr. If you consider yourself a coward, then don’t be scared. It is a Sampradāyak. What do you call Sampradāyak, my children? Hindustān sabhi dharma kī mātrā bhūmi hai, sabhi dharma yoga se nikle haiṁ, yoga kisī kā dharma nahīṁ hai. Therefore, I would humbly request the respected Prime Minister of India, Śrīman Modījī, please do not remove the Oṁ from the logo, which the Āyush Department has destroyed, this symbol. In the whole world, I have traveled 43 times around the whole world. There are many, many yoga centers, many, many from many sādhus, and some who have no sādhu there. They have not even seen the guru, they did not come to India, but they have a yoga center, a yoga studio, and they have Oṁ on it. And everywhere, whoever is practicing Oṁ in the world—maybe these Muslims or the Christians or Hindus or Yaudis or anyone—first they will sit in meditation and chant, Aum, Ākār, Ukār, Makār, Parā, Paśyantī, Bīkārī. Ask them why they chant the Aum. Because when you chant the Oṁ, then body, mind, soul, and ātmā become one. Scientifically proven. Therefore, my many, many yoga disciples, many, many other yoga centers which are not connected with yoga and real life, but they are saying to me, "Swāmījī, what happens?" It is said, yoga ke dvārā hī Paramātmā ke pās pahuñchate hai. It was the voice of the Upaniṣad. It was the voice of Patañjali. It was the voice of many saints. Say to the disciple, "I will lead you to the supreme Brahma Jñāna." My word, my Jñāna, I am the way to God. Then it was also said in the Ten Commandments, where God said, "I am with God." Yes. Why did Jesus say this? If Jesus was there? Because people were gambling, sāta kheḍre the, with the gold in front of the temples. Jesus came and saw the gold. Jesus said, "Do not believe in this false gold. He is not a God." "I am the way to God" means my words will lead you to God, not this gold. So gold ko God me change kia, but it is right. Jesus’s words are correct. Arre, paise kush nahī hai. Paise Bhagavān nahī hai. Kālayug me rupiyo rām. To dekhlo kai ho riya, khota khota kaam. That is why the day of the International Day of Yoga, announced by our respected Prime Minister Modī Jī, made the whole world so happy. They thanked Modījī, and it became very famous. But there was a true alarm as soon as it was announced. The first alarm was for those yogīs who are living outside of India; they are in danger. Because they did not allow the yogīs to stay there and teach yoga, because it is a religion. So they were angry, and they were attacking. But then there was a home, and Āyush was also home, and suddenly he moved. Other countries, people were laughing. Indians are so cowardly, fearful. Hai Om hai. Om se to Aman aya hai. Isai kehte ka Aman. Musliman bhi aisa hi koi samaj hai kya kehte ho. To Aman, Amin, Om se hi to hai. Therefore, all my dear brothers and sisters, please do write a letter directly, directly to the office of the Prime Minister of India, respected Narendra Modījī. And write, write your opinion, because we are not afraid of religion; religions are not bad. No one is afraid of religion, those who are practicing yoga outside of India. Only within India you are, whereas you are of India. So yoga is not a religion, not a fanaticism. It is yoga, a cosmic law, the cosmic science. Yoga is uniting, balancing, and harmonizing. And that is Oṁ: Ākār, Ukār, Makār. And that, "Ekohaṁ Bahuśyāmī," that time was no name of any God. The Upaniṣad has no name of any incarnation. The Vedas have no name of any incarnation, only Brahman. So you say, "Holy Father," and we say, "the Brahman." So, the science of yoga, and Bhagavān Śiva, Svayaṃbhu, he is the author of yoga. Mantra, Yantra, Jantra, Jñāna, Dhyāna, Meditation, Yoga—whatever all but humans know today is the blessing of Śiva given to mankind in order to serve all creatures, protect humans from the Āsurī Śakti, and lead towards the Daivī Śakti. So, I am sure people will appreciate, people will—the whole world is celebrating the 21st of June, and they are thanking Modijī and our Brahmalīna Pūjya Anandananjī Mahārāj. His Mahāsamādhi day, Brahmalīna day, is also the 21st of June. So we can celebrate the Day of Yoga and Swāmījī’s Bārṣī celebration. So, my dear, India—still Indian Bhaktas, Indian people, every Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist—all are helping the Nepali people. And many, many people from many, many countries are coming. We are thankful for them, and we pray to the Almighty that such a thing should not happen to anyone anywhere. So, thank you for coming. If you would like to announce or give within three days, we can organize some trucks to bring the food, but not from Jaipur, because half the expenditure will be spent on the petrol for the truck. So we will try to buy all this material. You will send the truck, but it is like this: from here to the border of Nepal, how many thousands of liters of diesel will it cost to come and go? Whatever, okay? So we shall send from here. Hari Chandi Batayenge, Amare Respected Vashundraji Ko Request Karenge, please show the green light and we can send some trucks and some food. So thank you very much. Today, whatever you will give, I will appreciate in the name of the Nepalese. Thank you. God bless you. Oṁ remains, will Oṁ Dharma will remain. The Dharma, and if you like to practice, if you don’t like to practice, it’s okay. But if you practice yoga, it has nothing to do with my religion or your religion. It has to do with your good health, pure peace of mind, anti-stress, and further spiritual development. It is the science. Therefore, oṁ should remain. You all should write, please, a letter immediately, as soon as possible. Bhol Satguru Devakī, Dīp Nārāyaṇ Bhagavānakī, Mādhava Kṛṣṇa Bhagavānakī, Sanātana Dharmakī, Om Sabī Bole Om Om... You are Om, we are Om, they are Om, they are Om. Everyone is home. Above is home, below is home. Front is home, behind is home, everywhere is home. Om Om... Kāravinda-saṁyuktaṁ nitya-dāyanta-yoginaṁ kāṁdaṁ vokṣadaṁcī oṁ kārai namo nama oṁ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ
