Kundalini and Chakras: Awakening the Hidden Powers

Kundalini and chakras represent the awakening of hidden powers within. The cosmic energy is the Divine Mother. The human body contains immense divine energy for well-being and self-realization. It is composed of five elements, senses, prāṇas, and 72,000 nerve channels. The main chakras are located along the spinal column, governing the flow of this energy. The body has five sheaths: physical, energetic, mental, intellectual, and blissful. Human life rests on four aims: duty, wealth, desire, and liberation. There are negative qualities like passion and anger, to be used sparingly like salt. Positive energies to awaken are devotion, detachment, knowledge, sacrifice, and liberation. The internal organ consists of mind, intellect, and ego, connected to impurities, disturbances, and the curtain of ignorance. The Suṣumṇā channel connects to the crown chakra. The body is a holy temple. Chakra meditation involves relaxing and feeling the spine, illuminating each cell with divine energy.

"These five qualities, which appear as negative, are in a certain way for our own protection and survival. Just like salt in your food."

"Treat thy body as holy. Relax and feel your body. Love your body. Love your life."

O Deveśvara Mahādeva Kī Jai, Dīpa Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān Kī Jai. Mādhava Kṛṣṇa Sat Gurudeva Svāmī Madhavānājī Bhagavān Kī Jai. Satya Sadātandharma Kī Jai. Kundalini and chakras represent the awakening of the hidden powers within ourselves. That energy is in the form of the mother, the cosmic mother. The energy always represents the mother. Yā Devī Sarva Bhūteṣu, Śuddha Rūpeṇa Saṃsthitā, Namastasye, Namastasye,... Namo Namaḥ. Yā Devī Sarva Bhūteṣu, Sarasvatī Rūpeṇa Saṃsthitā, Namastasye, Namastasye,... Namo Namaḥ. Yā Devī Sarva Bhūteṣu, Mātṛ Rūpeṇa Saṃsthitā, Namastasye, Namastasye, Namo Namaḥ. Adoration to the Divine Mother. Adoration to Svayaṃbhū, the Universal Consciousness. Adjust yourself comfortably. This meditation of self-inquiry, yoga, and daily life: adjust yourself in such a comfortable way that you will not feel discomfort during the meditation. Close your eyes gently and do not open them again until the practice is over. If you feel discomfort, you may change your posture, no problem, but not too often. When you change the posture, it should not interrupt your concentration. Relax. Relax the whole body. Withdraw thyself from the external world and be aware of your being here in this hall, physically and mentally. Prepare thyself for the chakra meditation according to the hidden powers in the human. Relax the whole body from the toes to the top of the head and from the top of the head to the toes. Relax the whole body, and once we will chant "Aum," and with the resonance of the Aum, harmonize and unite thyself, innerly and externally. In the human body, the immense energy the creator has given to all creatures is what they need, and to humans as well. God, especially those divine energies which should be utilized for the well-being of others and for thyself, to awaken the divine consciousness, to become one, and for ātmanābhūti, self-realization. The bodies are made out of the five elements, ten senses, ten different prāṇas, numbers of the glands, and 72,000 nerve channels through which the cosmic energy is flowing. There are numerous chakras in the body, but the main chakras are eight: Mūlādhāra, Svādhiṣṭhāna, Maṇipura, Anāhata, Viśuddhi, Ājñā, Bindu, and Sahasrāra Cakra. The body, there are different kinds of body which we have. The physical body, Annamayakośa; Prāṇamayakośa, the body of the energy; Manomayakośa, the mental body; Vijñānamayakośa, the intellect; and Ānandamayakośa, the causal body. Within this body, which we see, are the body, mind, intellect, and consciousness. It has got different energies and different qualities: dharma, artha, kāma, and mokṣa. These are the four pillars of the human body. These are the four pillars for humans to realize. Dharma, our obligation, our duty. Artha, the wealth to survive and to be capable of helping others. Kāma, the access to our duties. And Mokṣa, the liberation. Feel within thyself. Understand the body and inner energies. The negative parts, which we also have, this negative energy: Kāma, Krodha, Mada, Lobha, Moha, and Ahaṃkāra. These are the five negative qualities. Kāma is passion, Krodha is anger, Lobha is greed, Moha is attachment, and Ahaṃkāra is ego. These five qualities, which appear as negative, are in a certain way for our own protection and survival. How to use? How often should we use these qualities? Just like salt in your food. How much salt do you use? Very little. Similarly, this quality is given to us for our protection from dharma, kāma, krodha, lobha, moha, and ahaṃkāra. And the positive energies which we should activate and awaken in our body: Bhakti, Vairāgya, Jñāna, Tyāga, and Mokṣa. Jñāna is the knowledge, that knowledge: who am I, from where do I come, for what I came, and where do I go? Who am I? The self-realization. Nor intellect. I am not the soul, but I am the ātmā, the self. This is the dharma, or aim, of human life. All these are related to different chakras, which are within us. The main chakras are located along the spinal column. These are the mighty chakras, immense in energy. There are certain activities in the body which we should understand before we proceed, and this one is called Antaḥkaraṇa. Antaḥkaraṇa means that which is governing us, guiding us: manas, buddhi, and ahaṅkāra. Manas is the mighty mind, Buddhi is the intellect, the best part of the intellect, and Ahaṃkāra, it means ego, but not that negative ego, it is a tendency to survive. They are connecting with three qualities: mala, vikṣepa, and āvaraṇa. Mala is impurities, karmic, physical, mental, social, emotional, etc. Vikṣepa is disturbances, many kinds of disturbances: illness, family problems, individual problems, or problems which are coming from outside. Āvaraṇa means the curtain. Curtain means it’s not transparent. We can’t see through. That means ignorance. When the pure knowledge appears, then your inner eye, the Ājñā Cakra, will open, and you will see everything as very pure and very clean. Relax the whole body. Be with thyself. Feel your body relaxed and comfortable. Feel thyself one with thee. Let yourself be guided on this divine path, the chakras, the kuṇḍalinī. If you can’t concentrate, then just look inwardly to the altar. It’s a beautiful energy that comes from those pictures of our divine masters. You know that, and you just imagine or see that. That means a beautiful inner guidance. If your mind is restless, the mind needs shelter. And that shelter is the divine masters. Though they are physically not here, they are more present than when they were physically here. Mala, Vikṣepa, and Āvaraṇa: impurities, disturbances, and the curtain of ignorance. Manas, buddhi, citta, ahaṁkāra—the mind, the intellect, the inner space. Within our inner space, who is governing? What is happening within the frame of your awareness? Or consciousness, and ahaṃkāras, what is dominating in you. Relax. Feel the whole body from the toes to the top of the head, and from the top of the head to the toes. Relax. Feel your body internally and externally. Chakra meditation: try to understand your anatomy. Let’s come to our bones. Many bones, but there is one which we call the spinal column. Our spine is the most important. Try to feel your spine from the top all the way down to the end. Out of 72,000 nerve channels through which the cosmic energy is flowing, the Iḍā, Piṅgalā, and Suṣumṇā: the left Nāḍī is Iḍā, connecting the left nostril; the right is Piṅgalā, connecting the right nostril; and Suṣumṇā. That is a connection to our Sahasrāra Cakra. That is the main Nāḍī. The solar is Piṅgalā, and the moon is the left Iḍā. And consciousness is Suṣumṇā. Relax the whole. The Suṣumṇā Nāḍī connects to the pituitary gland, and these two nāḍīs are shared with both Iḍā and Piṅgalā, and the pineal gland, which is most important in the brain. That brain is our universe. Feel that space. Divine play. So many beautiful qualities and functions; that’s why our body is holy. Treat thy body as holy. Relax and feel your body. Love your body. Love your life. Give quality to your body. Chakras along the spinal column are like precious stones. These are the nine precious stones beginning from the mūlādhāra. Beautiful, sparkling, shining, balancing, harmonizing, awakening, guiding. It gives us joy, the joy of life and the bliss of self-realization. Feel thyself in the divine temple of this body. Be relaxed and prepare thyself for the next step. Fully concentrate on the Maṇi Mūlādhāra Chakra. Now, you feel the whole body. Each and every cell of the body is recharged with these words and the explanation of these wise words, indicating and reminding our inner energy. Each and every cell. Relax, relax, imagine your spine, and along the spine these five chakras: Mūlādhāra at the bottom; after a few centimeters, Svādhiṣṭhāna; at the navel, Maṇipūra; center of the chest, Anāhata; at the throat or the vocal cord, Viśuddhi, fifth; Ājñā Cakra, center of the eyebrows. These five chakras, from Mūlādhāra to Maṇipūra, Viśuddhi is most important. That’s our path. The destination will be Sahasrāra Cakra, but we will be smoothly guided by Ājñā Cakra and Viśuddhi Cakra. Relax. Feel the whole body. If you can imagine or see within thyself, each and every cell of the body is illuminated. Means positive divine energy full of prāṇa, as I said, each and every body is holy, your voice is holy. Mentally bless the world, bless all creatures. Peace be on earth. With this deep inhale and exhale a few times, with exhalation let your positive thoughts bless the whole world. And with inhalation, receive the blessing of the Divine Mother and Divine Father, Svayaṃbhū Śiva. Deep inhale. Three times we will chant Om. Deep inhale, Om. Inhale, Om. Inhale, your hands like in prayer. Repeat after me. Śānti, śānti... Rub your palms and place them on your face gently. Rub your eyelids and open your eyes. Move your hands and slowly bend forward until your head touches the ground. Feel the blood circulation toward your head and face, and feel the stretching in your spinal column, in your muscles, back muscles. Feel the flow of the energy from all the cakras towards the head. Touch your palms on the ground. Feel the energy of Mother Earth. And with the help of your hands, slowly come up. And place your hands on your knees. Ādi Om.
