How chakras are working

A spiritual discourse on the journey of Kuṇḍalinī through the chakras and the nature of karma.

"Even God has to surrender to karma."

"This Kuṇḍalinī Śakti, this Divine Mother, this Divine Energy will guide us all the time and will be with us always."

Swami Ji leads a satsang, describing the endless spiritual journey toward Brahman. He explains the supreme role of karma and destiny, illustrating it through the story of King Bhartari. He then details the chakra system, associating each energy center with a specific taste and function, and discusses the importance of diet, bodily care, and maintaining love and purity in spiritual practice.

So, welcome, everybody. Again, we are proceeding on the endless journey with the chakras and Kuṇḍalinī. Why endless? Because it leads to Brahman, and Brahman is endless—without beginning and end. It is absolute, everlasting, immortal. That is why it is endless. This Kuṇḍalinī Śakti, this Divine Mother, this Divine Energy will guide us all the time and will be with us always. But we have to understand the structure of a human body: human emotion, human mind, human awareness, human consciousness, human intellect, and the human soul. This is for us to understand. They will accompany us; they will escort us to a certain border. Then their duty is finished, and we proceed further. Karma, destiny, that will lead in the directions. But those principles which I told you, their duty is to keep this individual existence in the best condition. Even if you want to die, it will not let you die because it is in your destiny to lead a healthy life. Everything that is happening is happening through destiny. So karma is not only action. Even God has to surrender to karma. One great emperor, King Bhartari—his name was Bhartari—he became a sannyāsī, a sādhu, a svāmī. He became a master. When he got initiation, sannyāsī initiation, he thought he would adore and worship all the different goddesses. Then he was thinking deep and said, "Well, all the goddesses, they are depending also on something. Then I will—why should I not adore God directly?" Then he was thinking deeply, and even God is depending on karma. Yes, everyone, everyone who came on this earth has karma. And every holy saint, they did not have an easy life. What does that mean? Karma, the destiny. See the karma of all incarnations, including Rāma and Kṛṣṇa. Look at the destiny of Buddha. Look at the destiny of Jesus. Must it be like this? No. But many, many karmas from many, many lives, in one life they would like to finish. So they come here to serve. All twenty-four incarnations came here to serve, not to rule. They are not rulers; they are servants of the servants. That is God. And then Mahārāja Bhartṛhari said to himself, "Even God is depending on something. God is bound by karma. Then why should I not adore karma directly?" And since that time, we worship our karma so that it should not let us go into troubles. Similarly, there are many principles around our body, and we have to respect and take care of them because they are carrying our beautiful soul. The aeroplane is beautiful, and the pilot. So we admire, and we would like that our aeroplane is not too old and is good. And no one is angry with the pilot. So the pilot is important, but also the aeroplane should be good, tip-top and clean. So this is how the destiny moves in cycle. So karma pradhāna—karma is pradhāna. Pradhāna means the highest. So we go with this further. Yesterday we were talking about glands in Sahasrāra Cakra. Brahma, Vṛndra, they are called the pineal gland. That gland leads to depression, leads to freedom, and removes tensions. And the next is called the pituitary. That is intellect, the Ājñā Chakra. Ājñā Chakra is for clarity, giving command, and for working. So in our body, there are so many glands, and they are coordinating with each other very well. They are exchanging hormones with each other, great. This is the network of God, which no one can do. God is God. So that's very important, that we follow the nature and understand this body. So the plexus of the chakras is called the cerebrum. Cerebrum is plexus near the Sahasrāra chakra. Near the Ājñā chakra, medulla. All this in our chart is given about plexus. So there is the gland, the place, and plexus. Now, in acupressure, you have to find this plexus. And in āsanas and mudrās, we have to find the glands. So the plexus influences the glands, too, through the nerves—acupressure or acupuncture, or through the āsanas and prāṇāyāmas. Finally, this all goes to the energy center, the powerhouse. And that powerhouse is Mūlādhāra Cakra. Yes, there is energy. And that chakra has to be clean and purified. Yes, there is immense pollution. So it is important to keep clean. Also, in the body, there are different kinds of tastes. That is the subject of Ayurveda, and in Ayurveda there is a very strict diet—not only for your taste, but for your health. Jyotiṣa and Ayurveda tell the real meaning of the sun. Yoga says that biorhythm changes according to the position of the sun. Brahmamuhūrta is the time of immortality. So when the Brahmamuhūrta comes, then you should not sleep. That time, even if you make one mālā and meditate, it has an effect of five hours, ten hours. So, different kinds of tests in eating, too. What time should you eat, and which kind of test? So, Brahmamuhūrta, morning, before noon, noon, afternoon, sunset, evening, and night. On all these occasions, our body's functions and effects are changing. We don't know, but it is. We come to the ocean, sitting on the beach, very nice sand, and we lie down and have a sun bath and sleep. So you slept, and after two hours, the water has the temperature warm. You are sleeping, and the ocean is coming, the high tide. Suddenly you say, "I am in the water." Who moved the ocean? Or you sit and meditate near the water. You open your eyes, it's 100 meters far. So this is a totally functional, 24-hour system. So the energy is also moving like that. What morning should not be evening. But now, in modern times, we don't carry. Evening food we have for breakfast, and breakfast food we have for evening. No wonder that we are ill. That is very, very important. So the karma begins, but we should take care. Which gland in the body is very important? Why does God create different tastes? Why did He make it so complicated? Because our tongue wants to have different tastes. Why did God give this tongue? So arguments have no end. So the first test here for the Sahasrāra Chakra, what can it be? Beautiful taste. Oh, that is something. And that's called tasteless. Tasteless. You can mix any kind of taste, then come back again to the Naraka Loka. Finally, we are above the tasteless. Then comes the Ājñā Chakra. The moon has a sweet taste. That's why everyone is going for a honeymoon. Does anyone go for the sun and moon? Nobody goes to the sun. Honeymoon. Nobody goes to the honey sun. Yes. Because God Kṛṣṇa said in the Bhagavad Gītā that through the moonlight I enter into vegetation as a nectar. And there, where it is sweet, then different vṛttis come. Not only physical sweets, there are many others. So that sweetness will spoil. It takes time, but it comes sometime, great angels, and we don't know anything. Sweet taste through the Ājñā Chakra, the Moon. And in Viśuddhi it is sour, lemon. Yes, because that creates more śloka. When we talk about lemon, there is one kind of lemon that is so sour. You just cut it and touch a little on the tongue, and the whole mouth is moist. Oh God, it's too sour. You see, all the glands begin to function. So what God did, everything has its sense. And then, this is just sour, and then comes Anāhata Chakra. What is called Anāhata Chakra tastes astringent. What is astringent? You know the taste, yes? It flows from the eyes. You look eyes to eyes, nothing happens, but there is something here. It is all like this. Heart beating quickly. Love. Bringing together. Don't come too close. Yes. So the heart is this bringing together: we and God. Yes. There is a soul and heart beating, "God, God, God, Ahaṁ Brahmāsmi, Ahaṁ Brahmāsmi, Oṁ Soṁ, Oṁ Soṁ." In the heart is God, that's why it's sticky, getting together, that's very healthy, and with that energy power, the heart is more solid. Solid but gentle, and that's why Anāhata Chakra is given close to the heart. There is love. Love is God. There is love or passion, Prem, or what we call Ānanda Sukha. Prem is permanent, and the Sukha. Is it not permanent? It leads to the dukha. So, eyes, there is sitting God. Through the eyes, we see God, yes. And as long as God is in the heart, soul is in the heart, Jīva is in the heart, you can open the eye from anyone, even deep sleeping or deep coma. Open eyes, you see your picture inside. So God sees you, and you see God. As soon as the life is gone, then you don't see anything, no reflection. So that is a prem, that is the God. Love is God, and God is love, not only the enjoy joy. Anāhata Chakra, Anāhata. There is no boundary. God is no boundary. Love has no boundary. You know, when you married and you went to the temple to promise to your partner that, yes, I want to marry you. Yes, I will be with you. Does one say? I will stay with you for five years, then I will divorce. This is your problem. Do you want to marry or not? No one will marry. That is everlasting. And so the relation to God is everlasting. That is prema. Prema muddita manase kaho. What is prema muddita manase kaho? Rāma kaho, Rāma kaho. Śrī Rām kaho, Śrī Rām kaho. Prem mudit mann se kaho, Śrī Rām kaho, Śrī Rām kaho. Prem mudit mann se kaho, Śrī Rām kaho, Śrī Rām kaho. Prem mudit mann se kaho, Sītā Rām kaho, Sītā Rām kaho. Sītā Rām kaho, Sītā Rām kaho, Sītā Rām kaho. Say with love, God Rām, Rām,... Sītā Rām, Sītā Rām, Sītā Rām. That is this, so that is a love. So, this is coming together. Holding, expanding, contracting, expanding. Magnetic power, yes, Maṇipūra, my God. The Maṇipūra present, burning, fire. So this Maṇipūra, Prāṇa and Apāna attracting, sucking Prāṇa and Apāna to us. That is very important. That's why it is said, "money poor." So, no one is poor because we have money. So, whoever has money is not poor. That's why we have many poor. That poor is the city, the chakra. And in India we have one state, like in Austria we have Burgenland and Lower Austria, Upper Austria, etc. And we have this state called Manipur, and we have Manipur Bank. Yes, so that is many, many things. Well, after that, the test is not the best anymore. Because we were lazy and we had too much rest. Spoiled, but it is the test of the ocean. If the ocean were not there, very soon we would all die. So many illnesses will come. So in the bottom of the ocean, that seed, that Ātmā, that Viṣṇu resides in. So, Svādhiṣṭhāna is an ocean, water, and it has a salty taste. And there is fire, and that fire is the Jīvā, the seed of Viṣṇu. When that begins, then we see the embryo like a lotus. After, when it's a little bigger, then we see this embryo is growing from the mother's navel. And you see this baby's first intense time. Yes. God gave everything sustainable. But he didn't give us sustainable hunger. That we once eat, and we don't need to eat. So the food he didn't give was sustainable. Hungry and hungry and hungry. Minus, plus, approximately one human in one life consumes 80 tons. You are eating 80 tons. Don't think you are a small one, and don't blame God that He didn't give us anything to eat. God said, "Oh man, you became..." A food destroying machine, 80 tons. How many trucks? Someone said, "Thank you, Swamiji. Now I know how big a basement I should have. I will put 80 tons of food inside and lock the door, and I need not work for anything." Yes, you will be that moth that will die in that food. But you know, 80 tons. 80. And all our vegetarian creatures have a long, long, intense time. And they say the human intestine is eight and a half meters long. Eight and a half meters. Hold it. Pull it out. One, two, three, four. Whatever we eat has to go through our intestine, and that takes a long time. If we don't practice śaṅkha prakṣālana, the Haṭha Yoga kriyā, then people get cancer in the stomach. So the non-vegetarian creatures have a short, intense time. They have a little life, and they can digest quickly. But human intestines are not designed for eating meat. So if you are clever enough, wise enough, and you are a well-wisher for yourself, then try to eat vegetarian food. Then, definitely, you will not have stomach cancer. I don't know, but I do believe. Who live vegetarian, and vegetarian is different. Even if you don't eat meat, but you are not eating vegetarian. The first dangerous thing and possibility to get stomach cancer is with oil-fried things. So, we like oil-fried, pumperate, pakoras, kachoris, jalebis, many, many things fried, vegetables. Yeah. They are all vegetarian, but it burns something in oil, and that's stuck in the intestines, in some curves, and can—it must not be, but can—develop a cancer. And people who consume fried in the oil and the meat, meat is difficult to digest. So, non-vegetarians have more stomach cancers. Anyhow, the Svādhiṣṭhāna cakra is salty. Mūlādhāra. Mūlādhāra finally, from the past life experiences, the memory is bitter. Bitter from past life's anger, destiny. Totally forbidden. In German we would say, it is totally forbidden. Forgotten, damn it. That is what is in the mūlādhāra. Master, master, can you hear me please? Yes, bring it out, please, Lord, Master. I am completely bitter from Svādhiṣṭhāna. Yes, try to come out from the frying pan, and you fall into the fire. In Mūlādhāra, it was at least peaceful lying there. But we came out from the frying pan into the fire. Yes, the Svādhiṣṭhāna is a liquid. Our burning desire is passion. Yes, it will make you totally bright in that fire. Agni, agni. Kāma agni, kāma agni have burned many, many, destroyed. Kāmāgni, Jaṭāgni, Davāgni, Lavāgni, Yajñāgni, Havanāgni, Cittāgni, Krodhāgni. This one fire gets so many forms. So, clean the Svādhiṣṭhāna and Mūlādhāra. Then, this is, you know, it's called a very big chimney; everything is burned, and that is in the Maṇipūra cakra. Yes, "maṇi" means jewel, jewel, and "pūra" means the city. Jaipur, Jodhpur, many, many poor. Palanpur, poor means the city. Poor is. Manipura, money is the jewel. Poverty is the city. The city, the mind of the jewels. Yes. Money means pearl. So the best money, the best money is called mukta money. So we have one Mukta Maṇi in Vienna. She's the best Mukta Maṇi. Money. There are two kinds of money. One is from the cobra. And that is only on the king cobra. After certain years of age, it is on his bindu chakra here that develops the maṇī. And that cobra, in the night, uses it for hunting. He spits out this money, and it is reflecting the light. So the creatures come, and that is the snake sitting and eating them. And then again, swallows. Any sound comes, any people come, that snake immediately will swallow it. If you want to get that money from the cobra, immediately you catch him and kill him, but you will not find anywhere in his body any money. Money is like a mother's milk. A mother's milk is only there at that time when she has love for the child. Otherwise, if you can cut her body, nowhere is a milk bag. That is the hormones, and God has given a very beautiful gift to them, presented to them. So that is called Nāgamaṇi. If you get that Nāgamaṇi, any kind of wish is fulfilled, and if a snake bites you and you have that mani, you put it on where the snake was biting, and within no time, it will suck all the poison out. That is only possible to get by any kind of trick. You put something on it quickly so that a snake can't get and swallow it. And these are the cobra? It must be very old. Then it is called Gajāmaṇi. Gajamani is more beautiful. That makes you king. King cobra also, but the gaj is elephant. And that's called Gajamukta. Gajamukta, that is so big in his head here, a male elephant when he is very old. I saw one, one of our Mahāmaṇḍaleśvars, a very nice, big one. So, when you have this, automatically everything is fulfilled. Wherever the big queen bee will fly, all will fly there. Therefore, the elephant is great, the monkey poor. And Tulsidās Jī writes in Rāmāyaṇa, "Guru nakaman gañjyoti," similarly on the nail of the toes. Because of the Master, there is only money. That disciple should concentrate on that. You will get that money. It is immense. Gaṇa means immense light. So this all God has given. This property is a treasure to nature. But many things, God knew that humans would be very clever and tricky, so it dissolves immediately, like its hormones. Ten liters of milk, and now we want to take the butter out. But some stupid one, before we could churn the milk, put one tablespoon or teaspoon of lemon inside. Within no time, the milk is boiled. Now you can't get butter at all. Only paneer cheese, so it is a beautiful poem. When a nice bell is made out of brass, it has a very nice resonance. But if it breaks or has a crack, there is no more resonance, like this. And as long as it's not cracked, it has a good sound, very good. This is not a bale, but if it's a crack, that's it. Where the sound is gone, it's only a little crack. Resonance is gone. Little doubt, little negative words, that love is gone. Kāśī footage in car. When milk is spoiled, where butter is gone, chemical change. Therefore, no one can catch that cobra to have that nāgamaṇī. Gajamukta, Gajamukta is a beautiful big on the top of the head. So I am looking for someone, some good disciple. Whom shall I give the name Gajmukta? Mukta we have. Mukti we have. Yukti we have. And Jukti we have. And Bhakti we have, but Mukta we don't have. That comes through Guru Kṛpā. How Guru Kṛpā functions. That's very interesting. Dayā Rāmjī is writing. Many people are sitting there, and the Guru loves all equally. But only that word which will go in the heart of the bhakta, that will become the Guru. In satsaṅg, he predicts for all. Yes, take it. But it doesn't go. So it is said, when the Master said, "I close my eyes and I throw the stone." You close your eyes also. Otherwise, you can catch it. Now, for whom it is meant, it will touch his head. Means it will open his head. So who will catch? That's it. The river is heavy, and the banks of the rivers are dirty, but the water flowing is not dirty. Yes, many things he's writing, my God. And you know the sugar cane? Sugar canes have knots. And these are the kapaṭkī knots. Kapaṭkī gaate. Gaṇake kapaṭkī gaate. So there is a knot on it. But still, Mother Nature has given sweetness to the sugarcane, sweet sugar. Therefore, we blow off the flame. Where the flame disappeared, and we do like this, we can catch it. Where's your flame? In my hand. Can you show? Oh, it was here. Like that, it is a love. You can't catch the love. You should not blow it like that with your ignorance. Otherwise, it's gone forever. When your mind is also spoiled, then there is no love. Okay, as your kindness, your humbleness, you are a good person, you excuse, okay, I love you. But in reality, that love is gone. It's gone. Soul is gone out of the body. Where are you? Where has it gone far? It is gone. Therefore, be careful, be humble, be kind, be helpful, be generous, so that love, that love remains forever. Otherwise, selfishness will not remain. Then there is only one hope, only one hope, okay. Nama Seva,... Nama Se.
