Be careful with your sankalpa shakti

Satsaṅg is the essential vessel for crossing the ocean of worldly existence. In this age, true spiritual gathering is rare, while material attainments are common. Human birth is for purifying sin and earning merit to attain liberation, which requires a generous heart and selfless action. Observe the suffering inflicted upon creatures, such as in modern dairy farming; this is not non-violence. Many teach yoga for money alone, not for satsaṅg. Equal love for all beings is essential, as shown to family pets. Satsaṅg inspires spirituality and liberation. Organize satsaṅg anywhere, practicing humility, kindness, and equal vision without religious duality.

"Without satsaṅg, you cannot have vairāgya (dispassion). And without vairāgya, you cannot do bhajan; you cannot do sādhanā."

"Dharma rakṣitaḥ rakṣitāḥ. If you protect dharma, dharma will protect you."

Welcome, all of you, once again. Some arrived late yesterday, some this morning. Every year we are fortunate to have such a retreat or seminar, a time we can dedicate to this purpose. We recharge immense spiritual energy here, which lasts not just one year but for many years. From time to time, we renew or update this energy every week in our satsaṅgs. Satsaṅg is the boat for all creatures to cross the ocean of saṃsāra, the ocean of ignorance. It is said that in the Kali Yuga, sant samāgam, Hari kathā, Tulsi, durlabhdhoi, sutdhara, or Lakṣmī, pāpike bihoy. In this age, saints and satsaṅg are rare. Sutdhara or Lakṣmī, pāpike bihoy—children, a partner, and money—even sinners can have these. We are born and come to this earth to earn puṇyam. There are two forces: Puṇyam and Pāpa. Puṇyam is virtue, and Pāpa is sin. We came to purify all the pāpa, the sins, and to earn puṇya, good merits. Through this puṇya, we will attain liberation. In order to do puṇya, we need a pure heart, a generous heart. Give generously. Do not make distinctions. There are many opportunities for us to act. Now, in this time, there is a certain awareness in the consciousness of young people: a healthy way of living, a vegetarian diet. Some even quit dairy products because the milk animals are also tortured. The cows cannot sit; if they sit, they cannot get up. They cannot walk properly. Their life is very, very hard. When the time comes to milk them, they are suffering. They stand in a queue, coming from the meadow to be milked. They stand exactly in place, and automatically the milk is taken by machine. Then she walks away, and the next one comes. This is a good trend; it is good. But consider: if you are on an airplane or in a big office or at a conference, and there is an interval, people stand in front of the toilet. Someone inside takes a little more time, and another thinks, "My God, how long will it take?" They try to train their abdominal muscles, and psychologically, there is more pressure. We know what it means: a very sweet, deep sleep at night, but there is a pressure to go to the toilet. This, too, is a kind of torture. Normal cows were not like that. So it is not only slaughtering animals, but tormenting them in different ways. Their feet have infections. Hundreds of flies sit on them; they cannot move. We were traveling through the desert in Australia. About 150-200 kilometers from the big city, we came to the rock, Uluru. They used to call it Ayers Rock, but its original name is Kularu. That rock is exactly in the middle of Australia; it is called the Navel of Australia and has truly beautiful and powerful energy. On the way, traveling by car for several days, whenever we stopped the car anywhere and got out or opened the window, within ten seconds there were hundreds of flies—hundreds you cannot imagine. If we went to the toilet behind a bush and sat down, our buttocks were like a swarm of bees. Everyone broke a branch from a tree and was beating them away. Oh my God! We had to have a net. To eat or drink, we drank like the Indian ladies do in some villages, under a cloth. We were not used to it. The net was there, and when I took food and was about to eat, the net went into my mouth. So we don't need the amaryllis; it's okay. For hundreds and hundreds of kilometers, there were so many flies. We were expecting to see kangaroos, wild horses, or wild camels, but we saw nothing, not one single kangaroo. Once we saw a dead cow lying on the road; several dead cows were near the road. This means there are huge cattle farms for meat. One farm stretches from here to Prague. They fly in small airplanes—not the cows, the people. So what we humans are doing is not ahiṃsā. The human came into this world to purify karma, what we call sin, and to gain dharma, good things. Pāpa and puṇya. Pāpa and dharma. Dharma and adharma. Dharma is where there are ethical principles. There is no mercy shown towards a creature. That is why Tulsīdās said satsaṅg is rare in this Kali Yuga. There are many yoga centers, many yoga centers all over the world, in many villages. But ask them what their motivation and motto is for teaching yoga. The answer is very clear: money, peníze, peníze—that's it. Satsaṅg? They say, "What is that?" So there are very few yoga schools or ashrams where they have a satsaṅg. This is real humanitarian work. We should save the human soul to attain liberation, and we support and protect the souls of other creatures so that they can follow their path. You see, we should love equally. You love your cat at home. Even if you had no food for ten days and were very hungry, you would not kill your dog or cat and eat them. Why? Because you know this dog, you know that cat. Our house pets become like family members. We take our animals to the hospital, we pay for operations and medicines. When a dog, cat, mouse, or snake dies, we are sad. If we had equal vision, equal love for all creatures, we would not do any actions against animals. When the helpless and innocent are involved, we should not do anything against them. That is very important. Satsaṅg is the best way to inspire and to gain spirituality and liberation. So wherever you are, organize a satsaṅg. Practice free thinking; do not create dualities based on this religion or that religion, my group and their group. Be humble. Show kindness to receive everyone. Give equally to everyone. Accept them as thyself. That is a saint: samdṛṣṭi, equal vision. Kāśī na Mathurā, naivopriyā, naivāgṛhaṃ sat-saṅgamakāśī na Mathurā, naivopriyā, naivāgṛhaṃ. Vina sat-saṅg hove nahī mukti. Vina sat-saṅg hove nahī. Vinaśaṅ saṅg vairāgya nahī. Both of these are the beginning. Vairāgya nai ho vēre bīnā sattva-saṅg, vairāgya ko nī ho vēre bīnā sattva-saṅg. Bolo bīnā sattva-saṅg, vairāgya nai ho vēre bīnā sattva-saṅg. No holy place can compare with satsaṅg. And without satsaṅg, you cannot have vairāgya (dispassion). And without vairāgya, you cannot do bhajan; you cannot do sādhanā. So blessed is the one who can come to satsaṅg. This is a specialty of Yoga in Daily Life. All around the world, wherever Yoga in Daily Life is, you have satsaṅg; you are welcome there. If there is nowhere else where satsaṅg is held, search for a real ashram where there is satsaṅg. But some satsaṅgs and ashrams are waiting to catch someone when they come. When a neighbor's child comes to play with your children, you have no right to keep those children in your house and not let them go. There are many masters and many good satsaṅgs. But there is no master—called a master, but without the quality of a master. Then they are different. They ask, "How many sheep are in my yard?" You know, when a priest or the pope carries a stick in his hand, what do you call that stick? A shepherd's stick. And who is the shepherd? The one who grazes the sheep, so that we all take care of our sheep. Suddenly, a black sheep comes. A black sheep creates beauty. It has so much energy. Everyone looks and says, "Oh, today is a black sheep. Oh, beautiful." So the Black Sheep says, "I am black, but my milk is white. Can I come in?" So do not look at the color. We also have Sādhus and Mahāmaṇḍaleśvaras and Śaṅkarācāryas with sticks in their hands. What do we call that? There was one rājā, a king. The king made a law and said everyone had to follow it; whoever did not would be punished. But this law did not apply to the king. So the kings had to always follow the masters, the sādhus, the spiritual leaders. The master came with a stick. The king was sitting there. The master said, "Put your crown down." The master was standing. The king put on the crown. The master said, "Don't put it down, put it up." And three times he hit the head of the king with this stick. Dharma daṇḍ, dharma daṇḍ, dharma daṇḍ. "King, you tell all your children, your people, that they will be punished if they don't follow these rules. Though you are king, you are also a citizen of this kingdom. Do you think you will not be punished? The injustice you do, dharma will punish you. Dharma done, dharma done, dharma done." So that stick we carry is called dharma daṇḍa. You are walking with dharma. You have dharma in your hands. You follow dharma, and that is why it is a holy dharma daṇḍa. It is not a shepherd's stick, but for the protection of dharma. In Christianity, it has the same meaning: protection of dharma and protection of righteousness. So, dharma, dharma. Dharmau rakṣitaḥ rakṣitāḥ. If you protect dharma, dharma will protect you. Sūtādhāra or Lakṣmī, pāpī kī bhī hoī—children, wife or son, husband, and money, a sinner can also have these. Then what is the meaning of being a human? Khānā, pīnā, bhogṇā, paśubhī, paramasujān—eating, drinking, creating children, and sleeping. Animals are also very expert at this. O human, if you are doing only that much, then what is the difference? Do not be proud that you are a human. But feel yourself worthy enough that God has given us human life to serve all these innocent creatures and to love them. Through this, we earn dharma. So humanitarian projects, animal protection organizations, environmental protection, all these charity trusts—they are for the well-being of all creatures, and nature, and Mother Earth. But we are sucking the blood of Mother Earth. We are sucking her bones. All around the world, we are digging for coal. There are many big holes that they try to fill. When there is no more coal, they let the water in. How much petrol are we pumping out? How much have we destroyed the earth, digging mines for gold, for diamonds, for metals, etc.? So Gandhiji was right: Mother Earth has enough for our need, but not for our greed. But this is the environment of Kali Yuga, and two years have already passed. Last year I said, "Let us begin now to turn Kali Yuga into Satya Yuga." And you will come back to this world again. Do not hurry, but hurry to come back. You will come to those who will work to turn this Kali Yuga completely into Satya Yuga. When I have some visions, ideas will never go empty. Holi Gurujī often said, "Mahesh, your saṅkalpa, your wish, will never go empty." And in this one year, how many positive things have happened. A very big step was taken all around the world. The yoga awareness awoke in everyone. Was that turning the Kali Yuga into Satya Yuga? In many countries, in many different religions, they are working towards positive things. So you have to develop Saṅkalpa Siddhi, which we talk about in our Chakra book. So, Saṅkalpa Śakti—there are many different kinds of Śakti. Śakti is Śakti, but that Śakti works in different ways. Electricity is an electric power, but that same electric power has different functions. Similarly, Śakti has different functions. Electricity can kill us, and electricity can save our life. One must know how. This Saṅkalpa Śakti—you have to be careful. First, it is not easy to develop. Saṅkalpa śakti means you can harm someone. That is the negative way. When you shoot a gun, the dharma of the gun is that the bullet goes at a very high speed. So now this bullet is your saṅkalpa śakti. If there is a living being at the target or on a boat, it will go there. Similarly, when your saṅkalpa śakti attains siddhi, then it can harm you very much. One man wanted to be very rich and wanted to have a lot of gold. Gold is the power of the Kali Yuga. So he was doing sādhanā, saṅkalpa siddhi, saṅkalpa siddhi, saṅkalpa siddhi. God said, "What do you want? Gold." "What do you mean by gold? How much gold do you want? Give me Siddhi." "God, if you can't give, don't waste my time." Like a little child: "Mama, give me ice cream. If you don't give, you can go, but I will still cry." So God said, "OK, how do you want gold?" "Well, whatever I touch becomes gold." What is Siddhi? Gajanan takes whatever is in his hand, and fire begins. So God said, "Bless you." He went towards home. On the way, he was hungry. So he went to a restaurant and said, "Please, chapatis and vegetables and pizza." It came. He touched the chapati, and it became gold. The vegetable became gold. He took the pizza, and it became gold. "Hey, waiter, come here." And he touched the water. Look what happened. The waiter became gold. All the people sitting in the restaurant ran away. "Please give me water." He takes a glass, and it becomes gold. He tries to drink water, touches it—it's gold. He walks towards home. His grandchildren came. "Grandfather, grandfather!" He hugged them, and they all became gold. His wife came. "Let my children go!" She became gold. Oh, my God! Can you imagine the life of this man? He said, "God, I don't want any more gold. Please, God!" God said, "But you wanted Saṅkalpa Śakti. And you said, 'Whatever I touch becomes gold.'" So then God said, "Okay, I forgive you." But we have also developed the saṅkalpa śakti that all who will come close to our satsaṅg, we will turn them into gold. Here, gold means knowledge. Gold means the best quality. So the golden... it has different meanings. A long time ago, I wanted to learn a little German, and I was looking sometimes at television. One show was called the Pink Panther, Rosa Rosa Pantera. And three golden ladies, girls. Golden girls or golden... yes. So, a kind person, a happy person, a golden person. Saṅkalpa Siddhi. About Saṅkalpa Siddhi, I will tell you a nice story tomorrow. It is beautiful. But when Saṅkalpa Siddhi awakens, you should not be fearful. You should have a pure heart, even towards the enemy. Do not use that arrow. So Gurudev, then Gurudev listens to our prayers. Like yesterday, your saṅkalpa, your saṅkalpa, Devpurījī fulfilled it. I was waiting, I said, "Oh, what's happening? Oh, so many great bhaktas." So Devpurījī said, "What impossible things He can make possible, and what is possible He can make impossible, because the mighty is Gurudev." Only Devapurījī can do this. But we have to have that Saṅkalpa Siddhi. Wasn't it like this yesterday? Nobody was there. There is also a story: one man, the Master's disciple, said, "I want to go to a Kumbh Melā or some Melā." The Master said, "Don't go." But the disciple said, "I want to go." Then he said, "Okay, go and sit with them, who are human." "Master, what do you think? At the Melā, animals are not coming; all humans are coming." Then he gave him one peacock feather and said, "Go to the melā and look through this peacock feather. Where you see the humans, go and sit there." So he went through the crowd, opened it, and looked. There were about 20 people sitting under a tree and talking about good things. So he went towards them. They said, "Please come, come... Sit down, have a little eating, some fruit with us." In the whole melā, no one else even looked at him. So they were awakened; they could see. The others became invisible. So yesterday was such a divine blessing, a miracle of Devpurījī, and nobody saw this. What did they say? No, they saw. You see, this will remain in my... It doesn't happen so often, it doesn't happen. After that, there were two great miracles that I have seen. Very great, but that I will not tell you. No, you have no interest. And Svarsan Saṅkalpa Śakti—it is in the Mūlādhāra Chakra, also in every chakra. As we turn positive, that Śakti develops positively. It is called Vākya. Śabda, śabda tīra—your word becomes like an arrow, and it goes and touches there. "Arrow" also means good things; it must not be negative. That śabda has a power, and through śabda we can express our Icchā-Śakti. So in the satsaṅg, there are those who understand the words. So wherever you go, go to satsaṅg. Make satsaṅg. Yes, you are capable of giving satsaṅg. Do not think only Swamījī can give satsaṅg. Where three people sit together, do satsaṅg. Immediately, Mahāprabhujī will come and sit beside you and do the satsaṅg with you. So everyone has the ability to do satsaṅg, and do not use your capacities and abilities to do kusaṅg. Thank you.
