Don't think that you are carrying the whole load

Divine incarnations manifest for specific purposes and as continual spiritual guides.

God descends as Nimit Avatāra to restore dharma, protect devotees, and destroy negativity whenever required. Śiva is the primordial universal energy, both creator and destroyer in a perpetual cycle. Specific incarnations like Narasiṃha, Rāma, and Kṛṣṇa appear to defeat particular evils. Another category is Nitya Avatāra, representing the eternal principle of the guru, embodied by saints and monks who renounce worldly life. This Guru Tattva is supreme, above even the trinity of Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and Śiva. True holiness requires destroying ego, attachment, and desire through arduous spiritual discipline, not merely adopting external symbols. The celebration of divine birth is based on spiritual significance, not just calendrical dates.

"Whenever the dharma is declining and adharma is coming up... in every yuga, I come through my yoga māyā, yoga śakti."

"Guru is Brahmā. Guru Dev is Viṣṇu. Guru Dev is Maheśvara Śiva. Guru Dev is itself Parabrahma."

Who in the world knows who Kṛṣṇa was? In the whole world, people know there is a Kṛṣṇa. Just as with Rāma, who does not know what yoga is? In the whole world, they know what yoga is. There are different kinds of incarnations. One is called Nimit Avatāra. Nimit means for a particular purpose, for a particular operation, of which Bhagavān Kṛṣṇa speaks in the Bhagavad-Gītā. He says, whenever the dharma is declining and adharma is coming up, when the bhaktas are suffering and asuras begin to create troubles, then, O Arjuna, in every yuga, I come through my yoga māyā, yoga śakti. He comes, saves and protects the bhaktas, protects the sanātana dharma, and destroys all the negatives. So God comes for both, for good and for bad. Śiva is the first one. He is the Svayambhū. He had no mother and no father. He is just a universal energy. When we speak about Śivaliṅga, it is the entire universe. And from this energy, from the universe, Śiva manifests. So Śiva is called the creator because he manifests. Śiva is known as Sarjan Hār. Sarjan means creating. And Viśarjan Hār is the destroying. So these are the two main aims of Śiva. When everything is finished, there will be no life on the earth. Then again the Svayambhū comes, and again life is created. When it goes beyond the borders, the negative things, then again, Śiva takes Rudra. Rudra means that which destroys everything. Tāṇḍava nṛtya is dancing as a tāṇḍava, and at that time everything is finished, Sarjanhara and Viśarjanhara. This is Śiva. Therefore, it is said that in your house, on the altar, you should not put, or in the sleeping room, don’t put the Tāṇḍava statue of Śiva. This time when I was in India, one person, because my room also has a nice Tāṇḍava statue, requested, "Please put this Śivajī somewhere in a different room or somewhere in a reception place, or give it to a Śiva temple." Because Tāṇḍava nṛtya means distraction; Tāṇḍava means disturbance, destruction. It disturbs the harmony. That is what people say. So Śiva is the greatest, but every yuga is different. So many incarnations come for a particular purpose. The Narasiṃhavatāra came to destroy the Rākṣasas and Hiraṇyakaśipu. Rāma came to destroy Rāvaṇa. And so Kṛṣṇa came to destroy Kaṁsa. Every yuga, every time when it comes, has a different name. Each person is the same. The dress is different. For the wise one, God is the same, only with a different name or from a different country. So Nitya Avatāra is that one which comes for a particular purpose. Certain Avatāras are so from birth onwards, and when they were born, there were many great miracles. And some, through sādhanā, through practice, also become known as a god incarnate. So the Buddha, from his birth on, he had no miracles. He was a normal person, but through his sādhanā and his enlightenment, now he came in the list of Bhagavān Buddha, the God Buddha, Bhagavān Buddha. So there are twenty-four incarnations, dvacet čtyři inkarnací, and among them Buddha is also counted, a mezi se započítává i Buddha. So in every yuga, takže v každé yuze, but who shall take care? And who shall guide and protect the bhaktas and preach further the spirituality? So, thousands of years or one age after, comes one incarnation. Then the field has overgrown weeds. Therefore, there is a second kind, and it’s called Nitya Avatāra. Nitya Avatāra means everyday. Avatāra means incarnation. So these are the holy saints who become monks. Monk means renunciation. If you didn’t renounce, you are not in the account of Nitya Avatāra. Yes, you will be a bhakta. But that one who has this power, what we call guru-tattva, then is coming in the list of the incarnation. There are certain principles in the universe, and this is called the creator, the sustainer and liberator or destroyer. So Brahmā is the creator. Because Śiva manifests Brahmā and tells Brahmā, "Now you shall begin to create the śreṣṭhi, this world." And Viṣṇu, you should protect and look after them, and I, when it is you, you can’t handle, then I will come. When the prime minister cannot control, then is it the president’s order? Army order? So, Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and Śiva, the trinity. So this is called the tattva, the principle. So it’s called Brahma tattva, Viṣṇu tattva and Śiva tattva. Now, among them, the highest tattva is called Guru Tattva. Kṛṣṇa had also a guru, Rāma has also a guru. Every incarnation, they also went to school, yes. So, Rāmakṛṣṇa says, "Kaun bade? Who can be greater than Bhagavān Rāma and Kṛṣṇa?" They also had a guru. They surrendered to the Gurudeva. Rāma and Kṛṣṇa said they also got Guru Mantra. They become disciples. They are the gods of the whole three worlds. Though they are the lord of all three worlds, they still adopt a guru. Because Guru is Brahmā, therefore it is said, "Guru is the Brahmā." Guru Dev is Viṣṇu. Guru Dev is Maheśvara Śiva. Guru Dev is itself Parabrahma. Guru Dev is himself Parabrahma. Therefore, all said, therefore, my adoration to the Gurudeva, Guru Tattva. So, dhyāna mūlaṁ gurumūrti—therefore meditate on the Guru Tattva, on Gurudeva’s form. Pūjā mūlaṁ gurupādam—worship the holy lotus feet of the Gurudeva. Mantra mūlaṁ guruvākyaṁ—the best mantra is this. Whatever Gurudev tells us, we should do it. Guruvākya. If we miss the Guruvākya, we lose it. Mokṣa mūlaṁ gurur kṛpā—and therefore, the liberation will be only when the Guru Kṛpā is there. Therefore, this is called the Guru Tattva. So, Nitya Avatāra and Nimit Avatāra. So, Nitya Avatāra is all great saints, ṛṣis. And we should adore them. We do. But if you think you have a particular uniform and now you are God—no. Sometimes an orange dress is a fashion. So one day I was walking in the Atlanta airport, and one lady was passing. She had exactly my color. But she had a mini rock, and I had a long rock. She had orange shoes, orange socks, orange, what do you call them, long socks, an orange skirt, a jacket, orange colored—that I didn’t have orange nail color, orange handbag, and orange shoes, and beside her, orange Swami, we were walking both. Perfect matching. So, only color cannot help us. One farmer had a big farming family: grandparents, parents, and eight children, four or five chickens, three, four sheep, four goats, all were on the coach, the horse coach. And one horse and one dog. So the horse was carrying the coach, and they all were sitting in it, and the dog was running behind. So the dog wanted to run in the shadow, so he was running under the coach. But after one or two kilometers, the dog said, "It is not justice. It is cruel. All are sitting in the buggy, including the horse, and I have to carry. They have no mercy, but I am a loyal dog. I am very loyal, so it doesn’t matter. We will reach the destination." So the dog was running, and the coach was rolling. After one kilometer, two kilometers, again, the dog said, "I can’t carry them so much." But anyhow, I’m a dog, so I will do my duty. Again, learning. And after two kilometers, the dog said, "I can’t anymore. I will not carry you." The dog stopped. The coach went. Dog said, "Go." Who’s carrying? I thought I’m carrying, so there is a, in local village language, so the dog thinks that I am carrying the whole load. He was proud and angry, but he did not know. It is a horse that is pulling the coach. So he stopped, and he saw he is doing nothing. So sometimes people in different parts of the world, different religions, when they get the uniform, they think I am God. I am holy. It’s not so easy to become holy. It’s hard work to kill many, many wishes and desires: anger, pride, many desires. You have to become like a soft stone which has been rolled hundreds or thousands of miles in the river. And what it means, you know? How many times was he hit against other stones? A very raw stone, after becomes such a soft, beautiful, and when we walk on the beach, bank of the river, and we said, "Oh, so beautiful stone," we take it as a souvenir, said, "Look, oh, beautiful." But ask how this stone became beautiful. How many beatings he got. How was he able to roll? And again at the rock. Again at the rock. Again, a big stone came over, and this little stone said, "No, no." And again, and again, oh God, I don’t want, I was so peaceful in my place in the Himalaya, I didn’t say I will roll in the water, but again and again, and now I became a holy stone. Like this, we have to get many, many... Many boxings of the karmic and many wishes and desires you have to finish. No attachment. So, it is a lot of attachment. Oh, my daughter and my granddaughter. Oh, my grandson. Oh, my mother. Oh, my uncle is there. The wife of my uncle. I would go home. I will come back. You are not a sannyāsī. It’s not easy. So, who wants to become a sannyāsī? Think it over. Otherwise, don’t do it. From the oil seeds, either take the oil out or leave the seed as it is. Which has been scraped is nowhere. Neither oil, nor the cream, nor the seed. So, there are many, many people in India and everywhere. They take orange oil, they think, "I am God now." A crow was sitting on the peak of the church, and people were praying in the church. And other crows were flying. They said, "What are you doing here, sitting on the peak? Let’s fly with us." He was looking like this. They said, "Are you okay?" "You don’t know. Though I’m a crow, but now I’m God. What? You’re God. First make me praṇām, and then talk." So they said, "What?" You know. "Look in the church. They are all praying to me. So don’t disturb them, let me sit peacefully so that I can bless them." So one crow said, "Stupid, you are crazy," and they chased him away. And their people are still praying, so it’s ego. Ego. In every position we have ego. If you become the mayor of this village, in one night you are five kilos more. He’s sleeping and looking. I’m the mayor of the village, and can you imagine if one day he becomes president? Then he comes home, and how he plays, and his wife also, Pani Radova, my God. He became a president, and she’s already called a hairdresser. This is your ego, and ego is our enemy. So kill the ego. That’s it. Kill the ego. Swami Sivanandajī said, "Within you is the ocean of the nectar. Within you is the fountain of joy. And within you is the immortal Ātmā. Kill this little 'I' and lead a divine life." That’s it. So much pride we have to get out of it. So, those great saints, to maintain that is hard work. Are they okay? It’s going on, so they have to go through many experiences. We have not seen Jesus, nor Kṛṣṇa, nor Rāma or Buddha. But when we read about Jesus’ life, he didn’t have an easy life. And when we see Krishna’s life, it was not easy. You know that Kṛṣṇa was born in prison, you know the stories, and he had to struggle a lot till the last minute of his life. That was their divine play, and they had love, still love for them, so this is great. So today, according to the constellation, the Krishna’s incarnation time, in the Vedas and everywhere, it is counted according to the sun and moon. That’s why the date is not exact. If we go according to this Western date, then it’s not accurate. It is believed on Jesus’ birth, but about Jesus’ birth there are also different opinions. I think the Orthodox have a different date. What are they called? Catholic? Catholic. I need Catholic. The Catholics. They have different dates, and I don’t say maybe they are right or this is right. I say all are right. That is the best policy, yeah, because who am I to judge? If they say it like this, okay. If they say it like this, okay. It’s good. We celebrate first here. Jesus’ incarnation, and then we take the journey to where the other one is celebrating, we are also there. And he is for us every day born, but the constellation is that. So Rāvaṇa was also born. Kaṁsa was also born. Yudas was also born. So, in which constellation were they born? So maybe we will celebrate according to the date. But the constellation is different. Then we are celebrating the Rākṣasa. Oh God! So therefore, this is a mathematical. It has nothing to do with God. It is a constellation according to the movement of the planets. That is very important, and if that were not important, we would not believe certain dates. We celebrate Christmas on the 24th. And now we say, "OK, we will celebrate, it is not the 24th, it is the 28th." No, it’s not correct. But the Christmas celebration begins already at the beginning of December according to companies, for the employees. So we are also one week before celebrating Christmas. Sometimes, two weeks ahead before, to celebrate Christmas every day is the best. As much as we think of Jesus, it’s our benefit. And as much as we think of Judas, there is our loss. That’s it. So we are happy on the earth anywhere holy saints are born, and Nitya Avatāra. That’s why it said the rules, the principles, the disciplines of the sannyāsa have to be followed. So, my dear, I wish you a happy Janmāṣṭamī. Oh God, he’s already here. I was talking to you. This is something. Oh God. Okay, Kṛṣṇa. Okay, Kṛṣṇa. We love you, and we will give you good milk. And butter, but not today; it’s too cold. Om Shanti, Om Shanti. So when we sing for Kṛṣṇa: Śrīman Nārāyaṇa, Nārāyaṇa, Śrīman Nārāyaṇa, Nārāyaṇa, yāna śrīman nārāyaṇa nārāyaṇa śrīman nārāyaṇa śrīman nārāyaṇa... Yāna Lakṣmī Nārāyaṇa, Yāna Lakṣmī Nārāyaṇa, Yāna Satya Nārāyaṇa, Nārāyaṇa, Yāna Satya Nārāyaṇa, Nārāyaṇa Dīp Nārāyaṇa, Nārāyaṇa Dīp Nārāyaṇa, Dīp Nārāyaṇa, Nārāyaṇa, Nārāyaṇa, Dīp Nārāyaṇa, Nārāyaṇa, Nārāyaṇa Dīp Nārāyaṇa, Nārāyaṇa,... Śrī Kṛṣṇa Govinda, Hare Murāri, He Nātha Nārāyaṇa. Shri Krishna Govind, Hare Murari, He Nath Nara Yana Vasudeva, Sri Krishna Govind Hare Murari, Yana Vasudeva, Krishna Kaleya Lalki. Now there will be, the Krishna is born. So our Vojta will come here and make music, and you people can come and move the cradle of Kṛṣṇa. Wish something, I don’t know, but it can be fulfilled. Maybe you will also get a little baby, of course, if you wish. Or different wishes: good health, spirituality, peace, harmony, understanding, may all live in the world with happiness, no war, no fighting, many, many things. For this purpose, Kṛṣṇa, that’s why Kṛṣṇa is coming.
