Only the One is the truth

The Spiritual Path consists of family harmony, selfless duty, and inner peace.

The Supreme alone is truth, and the world is a fleeting dream. Life is a journey, not a destination, though the destination is reached at life’s end. Stay on your path and practice your mantras; all problems resolve automatically. Dharma requires selfless support of parents, children, and neighbors. Selfish dharma leads only to temporary gain, like repeated divorces. Clarify misunderstandings with family; be a yes‑man and make them happy. Modern life creates division: babysitters replace parents, kindergartens sow lifelong fear, and both parents working disrupts love. Children need the presence of a parent and introduction to relatives to protect society and roots. Good and bad actions return as karma. One who acts against humanity will not be reborn as human. Hold the truth and worship God; in this existence, no one is truly yours. The Śrī Svāmī Mādhavānanda World Peace Council works for non‑violence through yoga. Establish an International Day of Brother and Sister to safeguard bonds. Theory is worthless without practice; do good, avoid negative deeds. Animals possess intelligence and can even outwit humans. Natural remedies like garlic, lemon, and ginger heal the body.

“Brahma Satya, Jagat Mithyā—the Supreme, only the One, is the Truth, and this world is just a dream, it’s flowing.”

“Sāc pakad bhajasai—hold the truth, and adore or worship God. In this world no one is ours; in this saṃsāra, no one is ours.”

I don’t know if you will be happy with my answer, but let’s hear the opinion. When someone asks what happens with the body and consciousness during full anesthesia, the answer is Ānanda. Yes, you are above the body. Now, a good question about study: is it good to study physiotherapy or manual therapy? Physiotherapy is better. There is also a well‑written, clear question about a health problem connected to the pancreas. I pray to Mahāprabhujī to help and restore the best recovery. Indra Purī asked the question. A question came about disharmony with parents. It was not fully explained why, so the question is not entirely clear. But make them happy. If something you do they don’t like, it is because they don’t understand what you mean. Clarify the situation: speak, understand, and see the reason. Parents love you and care about you. In this modern time many things are different; if we explain and you say you are happy, then your parents are the first ones who are happy. What is the main question? Yogīs, let us finish quickly—read the main point. Not clear, not clear; tell me once more. Difficult. Here again we have a problem with families. It’s good that we don’t have a problem with others; family understands. We have to explain to our family. The modern way of living and the knowledge we receive in modern life was not like that in the last century. And we are searching: what is my Dharma? Dharma, our obligation—Naša obaveza. Why don’t they like it? There are certain things. One dharma is to support everyone, to support parents and children, to support our neighbours. So one is selfless dharma, and one is selfish dharma. When we force our selfishness, very soon it will be finished. That’s why nowadays the situation is marry, divorce, marry, divorce. This is a modern life, but it must not be like that. It must not be. To see the blue sky, you need not go anywhere. Goethe said, “To see the blue sky, you need not go anywhere.” In that way, what you are searching for is different—it is not completely different from others, but it is something different. The situation is very tough nowadays: war, and people who come from war have problems. Some are guilty, some are not guilty. They are taken to prison, and you come back after, but you have a psychic problem. So we have to understand the situation, yet psychically we should not be affected. Always, I am the Ātmā. Brahma Satya, Jagat Mithyā—the Supreme, only the One, is the Truth, and this world is just a dream, it’s flowing. So our inner spiritual journey is very important. Life is a journey, not a destination. Destination, we will achieve. Reach on that time when the last minute of time will come. Don’t change the way. Stay on your path. Practise your mantras; all will be solved automatically. The same question appears: we have difficulties with the situation between parents and family. What should we do? Don’t do anything against it. Be a yes‑man. That will be okay. This has become a very difficult situation in the world. Nowadays it is a fashion: before a child arrives, parents organise a babysitter. And if you have no babysitter, what then? Young couples telephone, “Yes, we got a baby,” and the second word is, “Luckily, we found the best babysitter.” It’s like a status symbol, but a child doesn’t know who is the mother and who is the babysitter. The babysitter is with the child more than the mother. Then the child goes to school, and the love for the parents gets separated. So we should not have a babysitter. One of the parents must be with the child. If it is sometimes very important that you have to go somewhere, ask your family members. And if it is a family function, take the children with you. You have to introduce your children to your families. That will protect the society; that will protect your relations. You have the roots of your families. It is said that blood is thicker than water. You know that you were born in Croatia; you are originally Croatian. And Slovenians know they are Slovenians. But do you love the Slovenian? If there is this, then they should not fight with the Slovenian. Don’t fight in politics. Bring the peace. And these parents and children will teach the neighbours. Teaching does not mean like in school—behave. And that society, the city, and the whole nation. There are two kinds of culture running parallel. The so‑called Western culture wants children to go to sleep by seven o’clock in the evening and to get up half an hour before their parents go to work. The rest of the time the children are with the babysitter. That is why in families there are many problems. If you go beyond ex‑Yugoslavia, towards the east‑south, wherever people go to a party the children go with them. Children come to know their relatives and their children, so they have strong family ties. If something happens to one person, the whole village comes to help. Here in the Western world, if something happens, even the neighbour doesn’t look at you; if something happens, they don’t go to protect you because the police will ask and you have to be a witness. Because of this, you let your neighbour go alone. The neighbour is our family—just two apartments or two houses, that’s all. So we have to learn to create the family. If husband and wife both have to work, you will not become rich. And if only one works, he will not become poor, and the family will be happy. That love which parents can give, no one can give. Then comes the kindergarten. In the kindergarten the teacher tells the children at twelve o’clock, “Children, now go to sleep.” Everybody goes to sleep and they say “Sleeping.” They close their eyes and open their eyes. That is the situation, because inside they have fear. That fear stays lifelong, so the kindergarten system is also wrong. Teach your children yourself at home. That is not good. And you see, one after another, questions come because of family problems. Now a question: you cannot get the proper papers to live in Slovenia. Okay, good. The question is answered. In my prayer, that one will get them, yes. The husband is in Turkey, the wife is in Slovenia, and still they can’t get proper papers. It will come. The government knows how to do it, and at present Europe has a very beautiful situation. Every nation speaks. In my culture we say, the guest is God. Now, God has multiplied into thousands. So please, welcome them. Guest is God. Don’t worry. So now they are afraid. They are afraid of God because God is very good in the picture, mostly in the holy place. A question about heart angina, blocked vessels, etc. There is a very good remedy, as you all know. Ask the Labin teacher. This is a very nice remedy with garlic, lemon, ginger, and so on. Take two tablespoons—one tablespoon in the morning and one in the evening. If you work in an office and use garlic, people in the office don’t like it. But garlic is healthy. God gave you beautiful nature, beautiful soil, good climate, all kinds of fruits and vegetables, so we should use that. So please, this remedy, originally made in Strilky, is being sold. Labin will tell you. It’s a very good treatment. The answer about what happens to my body when I take anesthesia is again Ānanda. And to the one who asked if it is good to study physiotherapy, I also told, we need to go to… About your grandson, I told you earlier—all answered. Thank you. Any more questions? Now, who had a birthday yesterday and today? Today you also have a birthday? Are you Croatian or Slovenian? Croatian chocolate, you will not get; this you will get. Hari Om. Who has a birthday tomorrow? Because tomorrow we have no time to congratulate. Today is a peaceful evening so who has a birthday tomorrow, please come. Alright, wish you all the best: good health, happy, healthy, long life. This evening and this morning we had more or less a talk about health and sevā—peace, health, and so on. Before noon the topic was how our thoughts multiply and that thought ultimately comes back to us. Good or bad, when we do good we will have good destiny, good karma. That means it returns to us. If we do bad things and put on blackmail, you are happy only temporarily, but that will come back to you. So, good or bad, we are responsible—not only in this life, but especially in the next life. In the next life, Dharmarāja, the justice of the karmas or destiny, will reject our application to be human because He will say, “You did not do what humans should do. You were even against the humans, not only animals. Did you not realise that you are also a human? And now you are against the humans? Therefore, you have no more chance and you are not worthy to be born as a human.” That is very important. This Mahā Mantra, Mahāprabhujī said, Karegā so bharegā—whoever does, that one will have to suffer or receive. Sāc pakad bhajasai, is duniyā me apnā koī nahī. This was Mahāprabhujī’s very dear slogan. Gurujī has written it in Līlā Amṛt. Sāc pakad bhajasai—hold the truth, and adore or worship God. In this world no one is ours; in this saṃsāra, no one is ours. We are all selfish. When we need something, we come; when we don’t need anything, we don’t come. So Dharmarāja says, “I gave you a beautiful human life, a very precious life, and you were against humanity. If you were against animals, okay, I would understand. But human against human, that’s not good.” If we all realise this, there will be no world war, no wars in the world. We shall work for peace. You know, for the last nearly two decades we have been working very much for peace. Śrī Svāmī Mādhavānanda World Peace Council, in Gurujī’s name, has a special status in the United Nations NGO Department. To get this special status is not the decision of one person; every country must agree. The country applying for NGO membership must also agree. Our application, which was from Vienna, Austria—the Austrian authority, the government, and the employees who work in the permanent mission of the United Nations—supported it very much. When they went to their embassy later in New York, the Austrian embassy and the Austrian ambassador at the United Nations said, “We strongly support this Śrī Svāmī Mādhavānanda World Peace Council.” We have yoga and the divine life from America, and from Australia also yoga and the divine life. Special status in the ECOSOC NGOs, and the director of this organisation—NGOs—have the position of observer. Anywhere, at big meetings, you are on behalf of the NGOs of the United Nations as an observer. In the United Nations there are many certain events. A few come from India. One is called the International Day of Non‑Violence, according to Mahatma Gandhi. On the birth anniversary of Mahātmā Gāndhī, the United Nations declared the International Day of Non‑Violence. Now we have the chance to get one more, and you should help. Give everyone the right to write to your government or to the United Nations department that the love between brother and sister will again awaken as brother and sister. Mother’s Day is there, Father’s Day is there, the Day of Peace is there, the Day of Non‑Violence is there, Yoga Day is there. Now we shall come to the Sisters’ and Brothers’ Day. We shall write what it means, and why we should have this day. So we have to write a beautiful letter. From the whole world, all who are listening with us—Yoga and the Life, Swamiji TV—please write according to your understanding in your country to the United Nations and collect the signatures. Nowadays they call it Facebook, face‑to‑face, so please send the message to celebrate. The full moon of July is a very good day; then school begins. Brothers and sisters means the brother protects the sister and the sister protects the brother. So, the International Day of Brother and Sister, Rakṣā Bandhan. There is nothing to do with religion; it is done to protect our kids, to protect the sisters. Then perhaps next we will think of the International Day of Husband and Wife. I hope we will not go so far. But not only declare it; we should actively help. October 2nd is the Day of Non‑Violence—physical, mental, emotional, social, political, and commercial. We have to say to ourselves, “Wait, say yes.” We have to follow, we have to be active. If it is declared, then we have to keep this tradition. Every sister will be happy. On October 2nd, we, as Śrī Svāmī Mādhavānanda World Peace Council, will celebrate in Austria, and the biggest programme will be in Strilky. So you are welcome; you should come. Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday we go back. We wanted to do it in VEP, we booked and everything, but the Hungarians love guests. The whole of Hungary is full of guests, even at the borders some guests are sleeping on the road. We don’t want to drive a car over their guests, so we put this programme in Strilky. You have to come to support peace and do something good. The subject is yoga for non‑violence and world peace. You can write your thoughts nicely; type it in your language, half a page. Include your photo, a nice photo on the page, and we will keep it in a file. It is too late to print it in the magazine—we already have nearly more than a hundred pages—but still, if someone from your government side sends a letter, we will be happy to print it. We have a maximum of five days. Who can write to Śrī Svāmī Mādhavānanda World Peace Council with their thoughts on how to solve the problems in the world, all this hatred and fighting, and how to bring peace? If your president, or any ministers, or artists, or philosophers will write something, we will try to put it in the magazine. The magazine is already printing, but we will try to somehow include it. You should bring the invitation letter with you, with a touch of yoga in your life, so they don’t stop you at the border somewhere thinking you are a physicist. The document must be there. So, Strilky: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday noon we come back again. This is a celebration in the name of Gurujī, Śrī Svāmī Mādhavānanda World Peace Council. You can write about Gurujī, his teachings—that’s it. This coming Friday I am in Austria, near Croatia and Slovenia, in a place called Filah, Filahen. If you have time for satsaṅg or such, you are welcome. But Strilky you shall try to come. Register there. Theory and practice are different. A ton of theory is nothing compared to a gram of practice. As long as we are human, we shall do our best work and avoid negative work. Don’t think that animals are stupid. They are very intelligent, but they don’t have the power to fight against it because humans are too cruel. Sometimes they are cleverer than humans. In Om Ashram, the yogīs made the ashram’s door with glass and a sensor for automatic opening. Many birds went into Gurujī’s samādhi hall, so Yogesh made a beautiful door. Some birds flew through, unfortunately died, and then the birds couldn’t go in. So the birds made a strike. You will not believe me, but they made a strike. They sat outside on small trees, all the time making noise—especially when Yogesh came. They went to him to give some knowledge. They researched how he could walk in: the door opens and closes; when we come, it’s closed. So they said, “We must hurry. We shall fly with him inside.” Now it’s a problem: how to come out? He went out without the door, but the bird said, “Wait. He will come to this side.” So he came back from Gurujī’s samādhi side, and the golden door opened. How is it possible? He has a miracle. One wise bird said, “We know when he comes near the door, he walks carefully, slows down, puts his hand like this.” So the birds came near the sensor, flying like that. The door opened. All his intellectual knowledge and efforts fell. Birds were winners. They sat on the trees and on his crane, singing—pjevale, pjevale pjesmu. Sing “Dojī, dojī,” to Yogesh: “Come in! Gurujī Samādhi, our door is open,” because he had a problem with the key—it was locked. They said, “You need not do anything; it’s closing and opening, come on.” So animals are very intelligent. At Ilahabad railway station it was raining. Between the railway lines there’s a channel where water flows away. A monkey got an electric shock and fell down between the lines, unconscious. One big monkey came running, caught this monkey, rattled it, bit it, moved its hands up and down, beat its head. The monkey was unconscious. He put him in the water again, out. Within five minutes he brought that monkey into consciousness. Then the monkey sat outside and he was massaging. Someone sent this on Facebook; people were filming. I will ask Umā Purī to send you this link. Really unbelievable, incredible. So you see how animals also know. Mantra Dīkṣā: who would like to have Mantra Dīkṣā? They should remain here for a few minutes; someone will tell them what to do. From my side, Lakha Noche.
