Peace tree planting in Hodmezovasarhely

This tree planting is an act for peace and environmental care. We all belong to one Earth and must protect the particular spot where we live. Protecting nature is a great challenge, as humans threaten it by taking resources. To plant a tree is to plant a life for humans and all creatures. Peace itself is the way forward. This tree stands as a testament for peace and the importance of agriculture, which is fundamental for our future. This blessed tree is for peace; touch it with a positive wish to find peace in your heart.

"When the last tree will be chopped off and the last fish will die, oh man, then you can’t eat your dollars."

"There is no way to peace, but peace is the way."

In the name of the International Śrīmad-āśram Fellowship, I extend my warmest greetings to all our guests, the Mayor, Viśvagurujī Mahāmaṇḍaleśvar, our master, Swāmījī, and to all our viewers on the webcast. On behalf of the International Śrī Dīpā Māta Vānanda Āśrama Fellowship and Yoga in Daily Life, and in the name of Swāmījī and the Mayor, I wish to thank Viśwa Gurujī, Paramahaṁsa Svāmī Maheśvarānanda Purījī, as well as Mr. Mayor, for initiating this event. I wish that this tree, which we are going to plant here, brings world peace into the hearts of all of us—the people of Szeged, the people of Hódmezővásárhely, and all our webcast followers. Thank you. Lead us from unreality to reality. Lead us from darkness to light. Lead us from mortality to immortality. Śāntiḥ, śāntiḥ, śāntiḥ. Peace, peace, peace. Respected Mayor of the city, all dear sisters and brothers from different parts of Hungary and neighboring countries, welcome to you all here in this beautiful international park. There are many, many people from different countries, also from outside of Europe. But we all belong to this one Earth, Mother Earth. We do not divide; rather, we must take care of the particular spot of Earth where we are living and maintain it well. Nowadays, it is a challenge for humans to protect the environment. I know that nature is threatened, Earth is threatened; everywhere, humans are taking away its resources. As you know, I work with the United Nations; I am here as an observer. We have three NGOs with the United Nations, and our dear mayor knows the challenges and aims of the United Nations: education, water, environment, forests, etc. As the American Indian said, "When the last tree will be chopped off and the last fish will die, oh man, then you can’t eat your dollars." To plant a tree is not just to plant a tree; it is to plant a life—a human life and a life for all creatures. Peace is also a question mark. Gandhijī said, "There is no way to peace, but peace is the way." So today, on this very historical day, in the witness of the bright sun and our dear mayor of the city, we are going to plant this tree. This tree should stand here as a testament that Hungary is for peace. It represents the city, the environment, peace, and agriculture. Our dear mayor has informed us that this is one of the areas with the largest agricultural land. Some philosophers say every culture is good, but the best culture is agriculture—and that is what you are maintaining here. The future is culture, agriculture. Very soon, we will have to return to our square meter of ground to grow something to eat, and that time is not very far. Therefore, we shall protect it. So, dear sisters and brothers, welcome. You have come, and with this, we are blessing this tree. This blessed tree will be the tree of peace and wishes. Come, touch this tree, hold this tree, and say your positive wish. It will be fulfilled. Make an experiment, yes. It will fulfill your wish and create peace in your heart. Whenever you feel sad, depressed, or restless, come and touch this tree and close your eyes. You will experience that peace. That is why this tree is a peace tree, standing here in the middle of Hungary, to bring the radiance of peace everywhere. With this, I would like to initiate the planting of the tree. Pūrṇam bhavatu, lokaḥ samasthāḥ sukhino bhavantu. Nāham kartā, Prabhudeep kartā, Mahāprabhudeep kartā, hi kevalam. Oṁ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ... Hari Om, Om Śiva Śiva... Oṁ Namaḥ Śivāya. Oṁ Namaḥ Śivāya. Namaḥ Śivāya. Oṁ Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ... Please give the water. Yes, sir. So everyone should give the water. Thank you.
