How we pollute our energy

The system of Yoga in Daily Life is a science of body, mind, and soul for holistic health. It spans all life stages and conditions. Teaching yoga requires awareness that students entrust their whole being. Instructions shape their consciousness and direction. Consciousness is a light containing awareness. The mind is temporary, functioning through resolution and dissolution. The body, made of five elements, holds the soul like a jewel in a basket. Impurities from diet, conduct, and vibrations veil the inner self. Without health, nothing exists; yoga balances body, mind, and concentration. Prana, water, and elements sustain life. Negative influences fill the basket with garbage, obscuring the soul. One must not run from problems. The light of the Master's wisdom is necessary. Book learning alone creates confusion. Two and a half alphabets of love bring true wisdom. Clear consciousness and renunciation lead to the kingdom of the Lord. Peace and bliss are the result of satsaṅg.

"Without Gurudeva, we cannot be successful. We can do thousands of things, but you cannot cross the ocean of ignorance."

"While reading such books, you have lost ages and ages. None of them became a wise one. If you read two and a half alphabets of love, that one will become the great wise one."

Good evening. A warm welcome to all dear ones and to all the spiritual seekers around the world. As we do annually, we are holding yoga teacher trainings. Many of you are already yoga teachers, and others are going to receive their diploma. Yoga in Daily Life is a scientific system. It is not only just postures; it is a science of body, mind, and soul. This system is designed for physical, mental, social, and spiritual health. The system of Yoga in Daily Life is spread around the world and is very much appreciated because it is for everyone, for all walks of life. It begins already in the mother’s womb. So too, there is yoga for pregnant women, yoga for children, yoga for school children, yoga for the youth, yoga for blind people, war victims, and for specific illnesses in hospitals, like cancer and psychic problems. There is yoga for the life of the aged and yoga for the life of the young. It encompasses the lakes, rivers, ponds, ocean, forest, desert, mountains, and the wildlife. To save and protect the birds, to save and protect the bees, and to promote reforesting around the world—salt and sweet—there are so many activities within the frame of Yoga in Daily Life. So, it is not simply that you get some postures, learn how to breathe left and right, and receive a yoga certificate. This is very dangerous. When you begin to instruct students, you should know that they trust you; they have confidence in you, and they give you their body, their mind, their psyche. When you tell them to close their eyes and relax, there is a great confidence placed in you. Any instruction you give enters their consciousness and changes their way of thinking. It awakens the awareness within them in the direction of the kind of instructions you are giving. This faculty is called the intellect. Now, the intellect needs learning, it needs education. Whatever kind of education, whatever kind of instructions you give, in that direction the human being will go. You can make a saint, you can make a beggar, you can make a great learned personality—what you call officers, you can make politicians, you can make a terrorist, you can make warriors, and you can make a stupid one. That is how you instruct. Human consciousness contains within it many qualities. The consciousness is just a space, a light. You dwell within that light your whole life, in this life and after this life. Within your consciousness is awareness, alertness. So, awaken the awareness within everyone’s mind and consciousness to be a good human. Within that awareness is emotion, and emotion is connected to the mind. The mind is temporary. It operates through saṅkalpa and vikalpa: making a saṅkalpa, a resolution, you create a regulation, and then you dissolve it again. Then comes the health, the body. The body is not everything, but everything is nothing without the body. Therefore, the first instruction says that the first wealth is good health. Health is nothing, but without health, there is nothing. So, yoga is not only body stretching and twisting. It is a balance between body, mind, and concentration. The human being should be alert, aware, conscious, and always ready to help. Therefore, yoga begins with postures, body warming, keeping the body healthy, and influencing the muscles and ligaments. It influences our digestion and all the organs. The best way to get health is yoga. Besides this, there is prāṇa, the air. We know how important the air is. Air should be very pure, because we are inhaling and exhaling. With inhalation we bring in pure air, oxygen, and we exhale all the toxins from the body. There is the incoming force and the outgoing force, so we should have good air, clean air. Nowadays, there is a lot of pollution, so we have chosen this āśram. You see how many beautiful trees, the peace, the peaceful and beautiful nature, the birds and other creatures, and the best air quality. Lucky are we, lucky are we that we can breathe here. So prāṇa, prāṇa is life. Life is prāṇa. Next comes, after the air, the water. Again, water is life, and life is water. The water we need for our body to purify. Then comes the fire, Agni, and the space. These five elements, from which the body is created, are like a basket. Yes, five different elements make one basket. And in this basket, the jewel of your soul is inside. Do not pollute this basket. Your jewel, the soul, is lost in this basket of the five elements and through the different qualities. Āhār, vihār, āchār, vichār—diet, recreation, conduct, and thought. Where you bring your life mostly, where you spend your time mostly, where you go, and what kind of thinking you have—this influences antaḥkaraṇa, our inner self. This effect is called Mālvik Śepa and Āvaraṇa, the veiling and the impurities. You get impurity if you touch someone. You get impurity just by looking at someone. You get impurities by sitting beside someone. There are many, many things exchanged when you hug someone, but if someone is a spiritual person, then you get good qualities. So you get energy from the persons, from which cup you drink water, in which plate you eat, and who has been eating before that. There is a vibration of others. What was in that plate? Was there chicken or some other animal’s meat? Or a fish? Or pure milk? Or yogurt? Good fruits? Good vegetables? So it depends what was in that cup, and if someone drank from it, kissing that cup, that vibration you cannot clean with soap, and then you use that also to drink. That energy goes to your body, your mind, your behaviors, your awareness, and your feelings. For temporary happiness or joy, you destroy; you put immense garbage in that basket, where the jewel of the soul is lost in that dirt. Where there is doubt, anxiety, confusion, darkness, ignorance, and no trust, one is lost. Oh my darling, lost and gone forever—nowhere. You just fall into the space. You want to go far away. But where will you go far away? Just going far away is not a solution. It is not easy. You need the light. You need the light of the wisdom that is taught and spoken by the words of the Master, and you will see how long you can keep this quality. It is not easy. That is all. It needs that direction to come to the Brahmaloka. If you think, "I will go away," where will you go? There is no space anywhere in the universe where you can hide. You cannot run away, and you should never run away from your problems. Problems have to be solved. So how can an individual get lost in such a negative atmosphere and qualities? Koṭi upāya kare koī cāhe, nātha bhavasindhu tīre, Gurudeva binā karecha naiṣāre. Without Gurudeva, we cannot be successful. We can do thousands of things, but you cannot cross the ocean of ignorance. The more books you read, the more confused you become. Yes, you read a book of one saint, and now it is completely different. Then you read from other saints, there is another opinion. Then you read other books, there is only criticism. Then you read other books, you cannot understand. So lost, know where you are. One saint said: "Pothī padhpadh yugbhaya," While reading such books, you have lost ages and ages, or many decades. You did not become the wise one. "Pandit Poti Padpat Jogbhaya," While reading so many books, spanning many, many decades, all centuries. "Panditbhaya Nakoi," None of them became a wise one. "Dhyāksar Premkā," If you read two and a half alphabets of love, "Padeso Paṇḍit Hoi," that one will become the great wise one. Two and a half elements and alphabets. What is that? Rāma. That is all. Just a few words, but it created a meditation, it created a vibration, it purifies our antaḥkaraṇa, bhikṣepa, and āvaraṇa—all three are cleansed with these two and a half words. Rāma, Maṇipūra, Viśuddhi, and the vocal cord, the tongue. Rāma, and Oṃ, Akāra, Ukāra, Makāra—the creators, protectors, and liberators. The sound, the resonance, not the rūpa. Parabrahma, the resonance is the supreme. And that resonance will lead us to the Brahmajñāna. And that resonance for us is Guruvākya. Deep Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān, Devī Svara Mahādeva, Satguru Deva, Kiśora. Therefore, clear consciousness, a very clear and very lightful awareness, the best concentration, strong willpower, certainty, confidence, vairāgya, bhakti, and renunciation. Enter the kingdom of the Lord through the gate of sacrifice. Peace and bliss are the result of satsaṅg. So we will have the teachers’ instructions, and let us begin tomorrow. This was an introduction, a glimpse of the introduction. I wish you all the best. Now we have here one of our very dear guests from Rajasthan, from Jodhpur, from Pali, and Jadan. She is an officer of the Government of India, in the police, academic, and a superintendent of police—the highest inspector of the inspector of the inspector. Her husband is also here, and dear son. So we welcome them first. I would request her; her name is Vandana Jī, Vandana, and she will say something. She is not here for the first time, but the second time in Strilky. And so perhaps she would like to say something; we ask her to say something. Mic, mic, please. Here is the audio, and she will translate, and you will, okay? Hari Om. It is indeed a great pleasure to be here with Swāmījī and all of you. From different parts of the world, I have heard about the āśram in Strilky from Swāmījī, but I got this opportunity from Swāmījī by him inviting me over here to experience this beautiful place, a heaven on earth. In India, we have a saying, a short couplet by a poet: Guru Govind donoṅ khāḍe, kāke lāgū pāṃ. I will translate it into English. Guru and God, both of them are together. Whom should I touch my feet to first? The poet continues by saying, "Touch the feet of the Guru, because the Guru is the one who showed you who God is." In India, I feel that God is very important to us, because God opens the door to heaven. God’s blessings are very important to overcome the cycle of life and birth. Therefore, reaching God is very important, and to experience God is very important—but with the Guru’s directions and blessings. We experience God, we experience this heaven in this life. So it is not necessary for us to aim for a next life or a beautiful heaven after death. It is important to experience heaven in this lifetime, and it is only possible with the Guru’s direction and blessings. As I was listening to Gurujī’s words, it is very important to utilize our time here. Either we become a learned person, a politician, or a saint; it is only because of utilizing our time here with the wisdom of gurus. In India, we are grown up with the saying that we should pay obeisance or respects: Guru Deva. I am very proud to be coming from that part of India, Rajasthan, which is my karma bhūmi, because I work there. That is the place where our Gurujī is also from. Gurujī is doing immense, great work in all parts of the world, not alone in Jadan—in the field of education, in water harvesting, in promoting global peace, in promoting yoga as a way of life, and in helping each one of us to overcome the challenges of modern-day life. In India, we are grown up with the core values of unity, diversity, and tolerance. We believe in the concept of Sarva Dharma Sambhava. I would like to convey to you all the love and affection of the Indian people to all of you here. I am thankful to Gurujī for inviting me and our family to experience this beautiful place of Strilky and to have an opportunity to interact with you all. I wish you all the very best, and I wish that the light of the flame may lighten all your lives, with the directions of Gurujī. Thank you very much. Good evening. Thank you, Vandana Jī, on behalf of all the audience, and please come again. Thank you.
