How we pollute our energy

Yoga is a holistic science for body, mind, and soul, designed for universal well-being. It extends beyond physical postures to encompass all of life, including environmental stewardship. A teacher receives profound trust from students, implanting instructions directly into their consciousness. The human intellect, shaped by education, determines one's path. Consciousness is the inner space of awareness, connected to the temporary mind. Health is the foundational wealth, supported by purifying the body's elements. Impurities are absorbed through all interactions, polluting the inner self where the soul resides. Reading many books creates confusion; true wisdom comes from a single, purifying resonance. Guidance is essential to cross the ocean of ignorance and solve problems directly.

"The one God has created 8.4 million different creatures, and humans are the protectors, not the distractors."

"Touch the feet of the guru, because the guru is the one who showed you who God is."

Good evening. Welcome, all dear ones, and all spiritual seekers around the world. Welcome to you. As we do annually, we hold yoga teacher trainings. Many of you are already yoga teachers, and many are going to receive their diploma. Yoga in Daily Life is a scientific system. It is not only just postures; it is a science of body, mind, and soul. It is designed for physical, mental, social, and spiritual health. This system is spread around the world and is very much appreciated because it is for everyone, from all walks of life. It begins already from the mother’s womb. There is yoga for pregnant women, yoga for children, for school children, for youth, for the blind, for war victims, and for those with certain illnesses in hospitals, like cancer and psychic problems. There is yoga for the aged, and yoga for philosophy. Yoga is an ancient science, especially for humans, because humans are responsible for taking care of the whole world: the lakes, rivers, ponds, ocean, forest, desert, mountains, and the wildlife. To save and protect the birds, to save and protect the bees, reforesting around the world—there are so many activities within the frame of yoga and life. So it is not that you learn some postures and how to breathe left and right and then get a yoga certificate. This is very dangerous. You begin to instruct students, and you should know that their spirits trust you. They have confidence in you, and they give their body, their mind, their psyche into your hands. When you tell them to close their eyes and relax, there is a great confidence. Any instruction you give, you are implanting in their consciousness. It changes their way of thinking, awakening the awareness within them in the direction of the instructions you give. The one God has created 8.4 million different creatures, and humans are the protectors, not the distractors. Humans have the most powerful tool, called the intellect. Intellect needs learning; intellect needs education. What kind of education? What kind of instructions you give? In that direction, the human will go. You can make a saint, you can make a beggar, you can make a great learned personality, officers, politicians, a terrorist, warriors, or a stupid one. That is how you instruct. Human consciousness, which contains many qualities, is just a space. It is a light within which you dwell your whole life, in this life and after this life. Within your consciousness, there is awareness, or alertness. So, awaken the awareness within everyone’s mind and consciousness to be a good human. Within that awareness is emotion, and emotion is connected to the mind. The mind is temporary—saṅkalpa and vikalpa; you make a regulation and you dissolve it again. Then comes health, the body. The body is not everything, but everything is nothing without the body. Therefore, the first instruction said, "The first wealth is good health." Health is nothing, but without health, nothing is. So yoga is not only body stretching and twisting. It is a balance between body, mind, and concentration. The human should be alert, aware, conscious, and always ready to help. Therefore, yoga begins with postures, body warming, keeping the body healthy, influencing the muscles and ligaments, cleansing our digestion and all the organs. The best way to get health is yoga. Besides this, there is prāṇa, the air. We know how important air is. It should be very pure because we are inhaling and exhaling. With inhalation we bring pure air, oxygen, and we exhale all the toxins from the body. Prāṇa and apāna—the incoming force and outgoing force—so we should have good, clean air. Nowadays there is a lot of pollution, so we have chosen this ashram. You see how many beautiful trees, peaceful and beautiful nature, the birds and other creatures, and the best air quality. Lucky are we that we can breathe here. So, prāṇa. Prāṇa is life. Life is prāṇa. Next comes water. Again, water is life, and life is water. We need water to purify our body. Then comes fire, agni, and then space. These five elements from which the body is created are like a basket. Yes, five different elements make one basket. And in this basket, the jewel of your soul is inside. Do not pollute this. The jewel of your soul is lost in this basket of the five elements and through different qualities. The diet, where you bring your life, where you spend your time, where you go, and what kind of thinking you have—this influences the antaḥkaraṇa, our inner self. That is called mālavikṣepa and āvaraṇa. Mala is impurity. You get impurity if you touch someone. You get impurity just by looking at someone. If you sit beside someone with impurities, when you hug someone—there are many, many things. But maybe someone is a spiritual person; then you get good qualities. So you get the energy from the person. From which cup you drink water, in which plate you eat, and who has been eating before that—there is a vibration of others. What was in that plate? Was it some chicken, or some other animal’s meat, or a fish, or pure milk, yogurt, good fruits, good vegetables? It depends what was in this cup. And if someone drank from it, was kissing that cup, that vibration you cannot clean with soap. And you use that also to drink. That energy goes to your body, your mind, your behaviors, your awareness, and your feelings. You destroy just temporary happiness or joy, you put immense garbage in that basket where the jewel of the soul is lost in that dirt. Where there will be doubt, anxiety, confusion, darkness, ignorance, no trust—lost and gone forever, nowhere. You just fall into the space. You want to go far away, but where will you go? Just to go far away is not a solution. You need the light. You need the light of the wisdom that is taught and spoken by the words of the Master. And you will see how long you can keep this quality. It is not easy, and that soul needs that direction to come to the Brahmaloka. If you think, "I will go away," where will you go? There is no space anywhere in the universe where you can hide. You cannot run away, and you should never run away from your problems. Problems have to be solved. So, how can an individual get lost in such a negative atmosphere and qualities? Without Gurudev, you cannot be successful. We can do thousands of things, but you cannot cross the ocean of ignorance. The more books you read, the more you are confused. Yes, you read a book of one saint, and the writing is completely different. Then you read from other saints, then another opinion, then you read other books. There is only criticism. Then you read another book, you cannot understand, so lost, not knowing where you are. One saint said, "While reading such a book, you have lost." Ages and ages, or many decades, you did not become the wise one. While reading so many books, you have many, many decades of all censories. Paṇḍita vācanakoī, none of them became a wise one. Dhyākṣara premakā, if you read two and a half alphabet of love, padeśo paṇḍita hoi—that one will become the great wise one. Two and a half element and alphabet. What is that? Rāma. That is all. Rāma, Rāma, Rāma. Rāma, Rāma, Rāma. Go to your heart. From navel to heart, feel the purification. Very few words, but it created a meditation; it created vibration. It purifies our antaḥkaraṇa. All three were cleaned with these two and a half words. Rāma, maṇipūra, viśuddhi and the vocal cord, the tongue. Rāma and Oṁ—akāra, ukāra, makāra—creators, protectors, and liberators. The sound, the resonance, not the rūpa Parabrahma. The resonance is the supreme, and that resonance will lead us to the Brahmajñāna. And that resonance for us is ārē, tā rezonantia e prenaz, Guruvachia. Therefore, clear consciousness, very clear and very lightful awareness, the best concentration, strong willpower, certainty, confidence, and renunciation. Enter the kingdom of the Lord through the gate of sacrifice. And bliss is the result of satsaṅg. So we will have the teacher’s instructions, and let us begin tomorrow. This was an introduction, a glimpse of the introduction. I wish you all the best. Now we have here one of our very dear guests from Rajasthan, from Jodhpur, from Pali and Jodhpur. She is an officer of the Government of India, the police, an academic, Superintendent of Police, the highest inspector of the inspector of the inspector. Her husband is also here, and their son. So we welcome them first. I would request her—her name is Vandana jī, Vandana—and she will say something. It is her first time, not the second time, in Strelka. So perhaps she would like to say something. Mic, mic please, and she will translate and you will… Okay. Vandana jī: Hari Om. It is indeed a great pleasure to be here with Swāmījī and all of you from different parts of the world. I have heard about the ashram in Strelka from Swāmījī, but I got this opportunity from Swāmījī by him inviting me over here to experience this beautiful place, a heaven on earth. In India, we have a saying, a short couplet by a poet: Guru and God, both of them are together. Whom should I touch my feet to first? Whose feet should I touch first? The poet continues by saying: Touch the feet of the Guru, because the Guru is the one who showed you who God is. Sorry, what was the end? The answer—the question: first the poet asks the question, "Whose feet should I touch first, whether it’s the guru or the god?" And then he answers in the next line, "Touch the feet of the guru," because the guru is the person who showed who God is. Guru showed who God is. Because in India, or I feel that God is very important to us, because God opens the door to heaven. God’s blessings are very important to overcome the cycle of life and birth. With all the Guru’s directions and blessings, we experience God, we experience this heaven in this life. So it is not necessary for us to aim for a next life or a beautiful heaven after death. It is important to experience heaven in this lifetime. And it is only possible with the Guru’s directions and blessings. As Gurujī, I was listening to his words. It is very important to utilize our time here. Either we become a learned person, a politician, or a saint; it is only because of utilizing our time here with the wisdom of gurus. In India, we are grown up with the saying we should pay obeisance or respect: Māta, Pitā, Guru, Deva. Māta, Pitā, Guru, Deva. Guru is always before God in terms of paying respect. I am very proud to be coming from that part of India that is Rajasthan, which is my karma because I work there; that’s my workplace. That is the place where our Gurujī is also from. Gurujī is doing immense, great work in all parts of the world, not alone in Jardin. In the field of education, in water harvesting, in promoting global peace, in promoting yoga as a way of life, helping each one of us to overcome the challenges of modern-day life. In India, we are grown up with the core values of unity, diversity, and tolerance. We believe in the concept of Sarva Dharma Sambhava. I would like to convey to you all—I do understand, thank you—the love and affection of the Indian people to all of you here. I am thankful to Gurujī for inviting me and our family to experience this beautiful place of Strelky and have an opportunity to interact with you all. I wish you all the very best, and I wish that the light of the flame may lighten all your lives with the directions of Gurujī. Thank you very much. Good evening. Swāmījī: Thank you, Vandana Jī. In the name of all the audience, please come again. Thank you.
