The center of the Divine Light

A satsang from the holy seat in Vienna, reflecting on its 40-year spiritual legacy.

"This center is like the sun in the sky, radiating light over the whole globe."

"The task is to first cleanse your heart and cleanse your feelings. Kāma, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Ahaṁkāra. Give that up."

The lecturer addresses a global audience via webcast from the Vienna ashram. He describes the center's four-decade history as a beacon of yoga and spirituality, blessed by his Guru's presence. He emphasizes that spiritual succession and enlightenment come through dedicated personal practice—sādhanā, mantra, and meditation—rather than mere ritual, urging everyone to perform their inner work diligently.

Oṃ Śāntiḥ, Śāntiḥ, Śāntiḥ. Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān Kī Jai, Śrī Śrī Dev Puruṣa Mahādeva Kī Jai, Satguru Svāmī Madhavānandajī Bhagavān Kī Jai, Alak Purījī Mahādeva Kī Jai. Good evening, dear brothers and sisters. We have entered a new year. Once more, I wish you a very pleasant, happy, healthy, harmonious, and prosperous new year. Today we are at our holy seat in Europe, the western part of the world. This holy seat of Śrī Alagapurījī is situated in the beautiful city of Vienna, Austria. The eternal holy light, the flame, has been shining here for nearly 40 years. Here, our beloved Satguru Dev, Śrī Svāmī Madhavānandajī Mahārāj, our Holy Gurujī, blessed this ashram, this seat, a few times, and he resided here for nearly one or two months. Besides this, many other holy saints have visited, and thousands upon thousands of people have come. They learned yoga and the wisdom of yoga and of life. They came to know about spirituality and bhakti, about the definition of the master and the master's lineage. This center is like the sun in the sky, radiating light over the whole globe. Many thousands of bhaktas learned and began to teach and give the message of spirituality, peace, and harmony. We are all working towards self-realization. The place where we are sitting is blessed and holy. Can you imagine? For 40 years, every day, morning and evening, prayers are held here. Can you imagine how many bhaktas have come, prayed, meditated, and practiced yoga? Therefore, not only in this space, in the rooms where we are sitting, but the whole building—those who have feelings and understand what spirituality is, when you come close to the street and this house, you feel the vibration, the spirituality. Blessed are they, lucky are they, those bhaktas who can come, have darśan, and take these energies. This day for us is a very spiritual day. Though you see me and the Ashram Śikāṇḍa Rāgasāya through the webcast, you are in a live program with us. Many bhaktas are here from different parts of the world. Unfortunately, this space is only 100 square meters, so many, many people had to go back because there was no more space to sit. But you know, our body is very big, but the heart is small. We have a very big organization, but this seat... it is like a heart, and where there is ātmā, this divine eternal light which is here, after illuminating the hearts of all those who see us now, those who were here, and through them also in a different way, through the whole world. Because when the sun rises, it does not rise only for particular people or particular creatures. It is for all, for the sinners or for the pious; it's for all equally. Therefore the blessings, the divine light, the compassion, the mercy, all are equal to all creatures. Viśva prāṇī merī ātmā hai. The whole creature is myself, my ātmā. Ātmā soi paramātmā, and this ātmā is the supreme one. We are connected, united in oneness. The body is different, but our ātmā is the same. So, all bhaktas, aspirants, and practitioners around the world, I welcome you for darśan of our holy seat in Vienna, Austria. And now I am in Vienna, so I will speak a little bit in my Vienna language, a little bit. Otherwise, I am forgetting slowly, slowly, but I spoke in English so that you could understand. If you are understanding the German, if not, then have a darśan and look and smile. That's how I try to speak. Thank you very much. Welcome, everyone. Today is a special day, and this is the second new day. Today is 2.1. This is 3. 2 and 1 is 3. It is Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and Maheś. This means Trinity. This ashram is for us a holy seat. Forty years is not a little. It is two generations, or maybe three. This holy eternal light burns here for the whole world—for peace, for harmony, for spirituality, and for blessings for all living beings and all mankind. It takes time. When a seed starts to grow and germinate, it becomes a big tree. This is our yoga in our daily life. It started here in this beautiful town of Vienna. Who doesn't know about Vienna? Almost every second or third year, it comes from the World Health Organization: the best place to live, with a good atmosphere and little pollution. It always comes more from Vienna or Vancouver. Both are victory with the V. In the horoscopes themselves, Vancouver or Vienna. So here, many hundreds of thousands of people came and learned yoga for health, spiritual development, and for harmony. And they have these meshes, these poses, as yoga techniques in the whole world—in China also, in Japan, in South America, in North America, in Africa. Africa, so everywhere. And now, thanks to this technology, I can reach guests everywhere—on a small island or in a big city. That's a miracle. You think and say, "A yogī can be everywhere at the same time." So I tried. Forty years, can you imagine? Suddenly, I succeeded. If you can't believe it, then watch it on your TV. So I am everywhere. So that means omniscient and omnipresent. And not only me; with me, you have also become omniscient and omnipresent. So here, our many bhaktas, our friends, our sisters and brothers, many have given seva here. Seva means voluntary help or service. Many bhaktas have become old and have gone into the light of Mahāprabhujī Sun. There are pictures of many of us who have tried very hard to establish this ashram, take care of it, and continue to lead. In this space, our holy master Śrī Svāmī Madhavānandajī—we always say Holy Gurujī—he was here three to four times and lived here for one to two months. So his presence, his presence, he left behind this spiritual light, spiritual power. Spirituality is never lost. What you have felt in your heart once is called Samanison in the heart. No matter where you go and no matter what you do, this spirituality means immortality. And this immortality is spirituality. Yes, maybe you forget or try to go another way. But the essence of your spirituality and your development is already planted in your heart. And so, maybe some have neglected a little bit—exercises, mantras, meditations, āsanas, prāṇāyāmas, etc. Then it means it will be slowed down, but it is safe. Maybe not in this one life or two, but in the fifth life, the successor will definitely come, and it will be continued. And who is the successor? You are. I am. I am a successor of our holy gurujīs; you too. I am also a student, and you are also a student. When I give up my body, then the Gurujī can say. So, some people have a false idea, an idea. They think, "I will touch my feet, and I will get mokṣa." If it would be so easy, the mosquitoes would also come to me. The money would also come. So, to prevent or to touch your feet, there is no enlightenment. For enlightenment, you have to practice more and really have this kind of dedication and love in your heart. So Mahāprabhujī gave Gurujī and Gurujī gave me a task. Don't think that Gurujī has already given enlightenment to my Śrānanda. Because if I had enlightenment, I would give away all these lamps. And I will shine the light, so everyone will say, "Blinded, I don't have sex. Where is that?" These are all imaginations, an imagination. And therefore, he has given tasks. He has given me blessings. You don't have any more time then. This is just work and nothing else. But work is an exercise, and enlightenment, a liberation. That means, as long as you haven't finished your work, you don't have a reward. So that means, don't celebrate the day too early. Wait until the sun goes down. It doesn't matter if it's me or you; we can always do some stupid things, and everything is broken. That's why the spiritual reward, or self-realization, it all comes afterwards. So, try in that moment to be closer to where I give up my body. You should run there, and how? My God! Have you seen the Mahāśiv Purāṇa? Yes? Yes, in the Mahāśiv Purāṇa, where the devas and asuras, the churning of the ocean, and the nectar comes. Now the nectar is in my hand, but I don't have it yet, in me too. And now everyone is fighting for it. So, at the last minute, this self-realization nectar comes into your hands. And how you will then continue to give, that is in you. And so, stay, wait until the distribution of the energy comes. Then, every student has been given a task. Now, I am also a student. And you are also students. We have our task, and our task should be very correct and clean. We should work from the heart. Which one? Should we build a house, or should we do purification? No. Practice. Practice, meditate, and mantra. That is the task. This task, if you can pass it on to someone, you have completed a task. Completed, or how do you say it? Fulfilled. It is not that I give the task to take my books and go to the whole world and buy a book from the master, and another book, and this and that. No, no, no. The task is to first cleanse your heart and cleanse your feelings. Kāma, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Ahaṁkāra. Give that up. Then, Bhakti, Jñāna, Vairāgya, Hīṅgave, Vairāgya, Bhakti, Vṛcchayung, Vṛṣṭhendnis, the mercy, many, many... Many, Dayā. Dayā is the source of Dharma; that is the task. So, Kāma, Krodha, Madha, Lobha, Moha lead us to the lower lokas. The other Bhakti, Śakti, Vairāgya, Jñāna, Sarvīsa, Hingabe, all of this brings us up. And when we come up, then the sun rises. A dimming comes. This does not need money. To do this, you do not need anything. You do not even need a blanket. Be as you are, but here and here—in our thoughts, our intellect, our consciousness, and our feelings in the heart. When you yourself give up and don't meditate properly, don't do mantras properly, then your spiritual cave in your heart will gradually become smaller and smaller. That means a light that burns in the heart has little oxygen. And so the light will slowly, slowly go out. And this is how it is when you have given up exercises. No matter how beautiful you are and how good you are. Yes, you are a very, very good person, but now it is darkness. So you should not withdraw. When someone withdraws, it falls into selfishness. Then, so many thoughts come, so many of our British thoughts come from all of life. Good and bad. Good comes little, but bad comes more. And then you withdraw like a snail. Then you have depression. Then you complain to yourself. Even you complain to your parents? Never complain to your parents. No matter what they did, at least they gave you birth. And be grateful that you came into this world as a human being through your father and mother. And therefore, you should not complain. Do not complain to your children, if you have children. And because you don't have children, of course you can get more children. Bring beautiful, good, spiritual children, like all of them. If not your parents, then I have to continue working, so don't complain about me. I'm not guilty, okay? So you can't buy spirituality. Spirituality cannot only be obtained by bending to the Swāmījī or touching the feet or that. But internally, that is very important. Externally, outwardly, that does not help. Mukhmeram bhagalmeshuri. Otherwise, one says, "Okay, in your mouth there are nice, good words, but in your armpit is a nice knife." That's it. So then there is nothing spiritual anymore. Suffering, and there will be even more suffering. You come back like a snail. And then you don't know with which wood or stone this snail will be pushed into. So, service. Śiva. Work. Serve. Task: From the Master means practice. Do your task, your practice, your sādhanā, satsaṅg, bhakti, jñāna, parāgya, āsanas, prāṇāyāmas, for health, meditations, mantras, good thoughts, help, etc. It doesn't matter if you are married or not married. That has nothing to do with it. To do? Yes, celebrate and give me three, four children. So your life will be more. Yes, but you don't have to. He knows that to have a child, two children, three children, a lot of work is required. So, exercise given up, then the Master has more work for you, but most of the time it is also not happy internally. Because I have given them a blessing from our holy paramparā—from this, from Alak Puruṣa until now. And my words are not my words. It is a blessing from them, and when I have given a blessing once, this blessing will remain with you forever. Forever. Maybe now you don't understand. You will recognize and understand after this life. Then he says, "You will see a great danger." And suddenly this blessing from our Holy Linnaeus comes like a storm. A storm, and it will protect or possess you. Then you will see, yes, Meśvaran, thank you, this blessing came from your right hand and has possessed you. So blessing will always remain, but maybe you have to wait longer. And so please practice. Practice is very important. We do not go that my belief is good and your belief is not good. This remains on the surface. On the surface of the ocean, there are many waves. But when you go deeper into the ocean, you see very calm and beautiful sand. The patterns are very beautiful, and so it is. All these problems in this world, they are only superficial. You and I and he and she and everything, and that was stupid, and he did that. That is only superficial. When we go deep into the heart, then everything is ānanda, peace, bliss. But ānanda will not exist. So this is our Western world, this seat in Vienna; this is our holy seat. And from time to time, you should come and greet this holy light. You can take the light with you, not the whole thing. Jyoti se Jyoti jagām. Satguru Jyoti se Jyoti jagām. So is that. Jyotiṣe Jyotijāgam. From one flame we take light for our flame. And so is enlightenment from one to another, to one to another. So, can you imagine from Alak Purīṣī, from Satyayuga, until now, and it has come to you in your heart, no matter what you do. The light is there. It will lead us. It will possess us. And so, I wish you all the best, and this day is a day of happiness. In this new year, we are here; this is a great grace from our ancestors. I wish you all the best. And do you understand what my task is? What task have I given? That is it. Practice something, stay healthy. For your health, you should practice. You have to work on that. Why? That you achieve your goal. I wish you all the best, and may Prabhujī bless you with health, success, and happiness, with peace and harmony. Siddhi Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān Deva Puruṣa Mahādeva Mādhava Kṛṣṇa Bhagavān Satya Sanātana Dharma Alak Puruṣa Mahādeva. Oṃ Śāntiḥ, Śāntiḥ,... Hari Oṃ.
