Unity

Yoga is the ancient science of union, moving from duality to oneness. The goal of human life is to become one with God, who is formless, nameless, and present in every atom. We carry God within, yet duality and conflict arise when we ignore this presence. All creation, from stones to plants, holds a divine vibration. Our human existence is the final milestone to approach this divine origin. Happiness is already given and must be found within, not sought externally. The path of yoga provides the technique: physical postures create harmony, breathwork purifies, and concentration builds awareness. Meditation guided by mantra is the highway to Self-realization. The principles are simple and sure.

"Where there is duality, there is fighting. Where there is unity, there is peace, harmony, and God-consciousness."

"God gave us happiness for free. So why do we not search within us and become happy? And for that, there is yoga."

As I mentioned, it has been 18 years since Vishwagurujī first came to Český Těšín for a public lecture. This evening is truly special, awaited for a long 18 years. So let us not waste a moment with a long prologue. I now give my word to Viśvagurujī. I wish you a wonderful evening. Listen with your heart and an open mind. Asatoma Sadgamaya. Lead us from unreality to reality. Lead us from darkness to the light of wisdom. Lead us from mortality to immortality. Loka Samastā Sukhino Bhavantu. May the whole world be happy. Láham Karatā. I am not the doer. Prabhudeep is doing. Mahāprabhujī, the Divine Lord, is doing everything. Om Śānti, Śānti, Śānti. Good evening, all dear ones. I am happy to see you and welcome you all again to this beautiful city of Trecin. Yes, I remember, but two decades have passed. Yet, the light of yoga, the light of Yoga in Daily Life, is alive here. Our aim is to live healthy, in harmony, in peace, and in spiritual development for our achievements. There are many different ways and systems, but yoga is one of the first and very ancient sciences of the body, mind, and soul. Yoga means union, oneness. Where there is duality, there is fighting. Where there is unity, there is peace, harmony, and God-consciousness. Among all creatures, we humans have the ability to achieve the final goal. What is our goal? We may know or not know, but the goal of human life is to become one with God. Do you all understand what God is? You always carry God in your heart, in your memories, in your thoughts. Yet we have different ideas or visions of God. God has no form. God has no name. But He is everywhere, and His name is on everyone’s tongue. We humans manifest God within ourselves. But many humans do not act according to the presence of God. If we feel God’s presence within our heart and in our thoughts, we will never do anything wrong. We will not harm even a blade of grass, for that too is created by God. Whether we believe or not, without Him, not even a leaf of a tree can move. It is His energy, His mercy, His blessings, and His creation. We are a part of that, and we should understand. We do not know if other creatures have the same feelings, but we have them, and we should not lose these feelings. When we do not pay attention to God, there is disharmony, there is duality, and there is fighting and war. We fight for nations, for culture, only for our society. We do not see that the whole world is God’s creation. But where are the feelings in the hearts? There are two kinds of feelings: happiness or fear. This is evidence that the presence of God is there. God is there where there is fear or where there is happiness. Consider this plant we have on the table. It feels happiness when we look at it with love. And when we have the intention to cut it off, there is a vibration of fear. This is evidence that God is everywhere. Even in a stone, if you can meditate and understand the stone, there is also a vibration of God. It is said that when Buddha attained enlightenment, he first researched: where are my roots? Where did my life begin? He found it goes far back into the stones, then into metals like coals and metals, then into small creatures, then vegetation, reptiles, animals, birds. These are layers of life, different layers of the revelation of creation. All the time, in every change, God-consciousness is guiding us. And it comes to the human. From the human, a different attitude begins, and spirituality begins. Then we become what we call a spiritual person. This means we are approaching our origin, and that origin is God, which has no form, no name, and no one can touch it. But still, that God is in each and every atom. As I often say, in each and every living being, there is God. There are 8.4 million different living creatures, and one of those is the human. A human is very, very close to union with God. This is the last milestone. If we miss it, we do not know where we will go, how far we will be, when we will become human again, in which form or condition. So perhaps this is the last step. Let us say, to heaven. But heaven or hell—these are two. Therefore, there is duality. Beyond heaven is the infinite, that endless space. Heaven or hell is in quarters; it has a border. Today we are sitting on the border of Poland and the Czech Republic. Beyond that are the borders of Slovakia, Hungary, and other countries. Even in the universe, we are dividing the quarters. But God did not divide this into Poland, Czech, etc. For God, it is the same. This is a glimpse of our coming into this human life. I am sure you are all on the right way, but you must continue this path. It does not matter which spiritual path or which god you believe in. Ultimately, there is only one destination. We are all on the way; we are not at the destination yet. Wherever you have a good education, a good kind of sādhanā (practice), carry on, because the destination is one. But you should know you have taken the right path. You want to go to Warsaw, but you set your navigator to Prague. Your car will always lead you to Prague; you will not come to Warsaw. Or it may lead you into the forest, to rocks, where there is no path. Buddha said that from stone, metals, and coal, to water, life, plantations, and vegetation, he traveled through and through. Buddha, his name was Siddhartha, was Prince Siddhartha. Of course, he was a Hindu. Sanatana Dharma existed before that time; there were no others. Buddhi in Sanskrit, in Hindi buddhi, is what we call intellect. We all are longing for enlightenment. We have light in this room, but still we do not have that enlightenment, those clear visions in our thoughts and brain. Enlightenment is not like this physical light. So never wait, closing your eyes, to see that everything is very white and bright. Do not waste your time. To see light here, I want to see—then open your eyes to see. With closed eyes, why do you say, "I want to see"? God said, "My child, I gave you beautiful eyes to see the beautiful world." God gave us all freely. He gave us free ears to hear beautiful words, beautiful music, beautiful people, beautiful creation. See God in all. See that divine in everyone; you will be very happy. God gave us a free nose to inhale and smell nicely. God does not charge us a tax for it to be happy. God said, "Be happy." It does not cost you money. Why are you unhappy? From where did you bring this? God said, "Oh, God, why is this person unhappy? I gave him so much happiness." What can be more than being a human? If you are human and still not happy, then it is your own mistake. No one can make you happy. One day will make you happy; this hour, you will be disappointed, then unhappy, then depressed. Then you will take medicine and sit alone, thinking, "What, God? Tell me, my child, what theater are you playing? Be happy!" Rádost mám, I am happy, I am happy, I am happy. I’m happy, happy, I’m at home. Are you happy? Just think for a few seconds about the happiness of your life. Yes. So God said, "I gave you the happiness." You did not lose it; it is within you. But you say, "I am not happy. I don’t have happiness. Mr. Doctor, please give me some tablets or injections. Swamiji, give me happiness." God said, "I gave you already." Swamiji said, "He gave you already, but still I don’t have." There is one story about happiness. There was an elderly great-grandmother. She had a very nice, beautiful small house, a hut, a small garden, and some nice house pets. She was happy, but suddenly she became unhappy. She was nearly 105 years old, and she was unhappy. She had a stick for walking, and in front of her house, in the small garden, she was looking for something for one or two hours. The whole night she couldn’t sleep. Again she came and was searching, now with her glasses. A neighbor, a very nice, beautiful man, came to the grandmother. He said, "Mother, what are you searching? Can I help you? You sit down. I will search for you. What did you lose?" She said, "My son, my child, I lost my small needle. So I’m searching." So the man said, "You sit down, I will search." And he was searching, walking, with great effort, over about 10 or 20 square meters of ground. Then he said, "Grandmother, where did you lose your needle?" "Oh, my son, my dear one, I lost it in my sleeping room." So the man said, "You lost it in the sleeping room and are searching in the garden? How will you find it in the garden? Why don’t you search in the sleeping room?" "You don’t understand. The sleeping room is too dark, and here is light, so I want to search here." "Mother, even if it is dark there and light here, you will not find it. You will find what you have lost where you lost it." So we lost our peace, our love, in our heart. No one can give it to you; that is very important. God gave us happiness for free. God gave us love for free. God gave us positive thinking for free. So why do we not search within us and become happy? And for that, there is yoga. First come the physical exercises, the āsanas. They create harmony in our movements, muscles, and tissues. If the body is healthy, then you are healthy. If the mind is healthy, then your body is also healthy. What does healthy mean? If you feel good in your body. Of course, we are growing old, and we cannot be like these little children here, ten years, five years old. They can jump down from the bed, from the sofa. How many of us can jump from the sofa? We can—two times: the first and the last. But we can still be happy. Therefore, it is scientifically proven that yoga exercises are beneficial. Your Yoga in Daily Life system in your country, which is countrywide, brings benefit to many millions of people. Then comes the breath, prāṇāyāma: how to breathe in order to purify the body inwardly, to prove and purify our lungs. Our nervous systems and blood are purified through prāṇāyāma. We come to the point where our muscles, blood, and brain receive more oxygen. When you do extreme postures or a sport, you create tension in the muscles and brain—high concentration, and everything is intense. But when you do yoga exercises, the glands, nerves, intestines, blood vessels, and mind are relaxed. That is why it is said that yoga gives us more relaxation and removes tensions. You get more benefit than from some sports. But, of course, for people, joy is also good. Sport is better than doing nothing. Therefore, yoga is very healthy for us. After prāṇāyāma, we do concentration exercises. This means to become aware of ourselves, our surroundings, our nature, our society, our country, and the whole world. We create awareness toward the whole world. We awaken the awareness of happiness, health, peace, harmony, and God-realization. Within us is also anger, hate, jealousy, and conflicts. Let them be dormant. After this concentration technique comes meditation. Meditation is a highway toward Self-realization. But guidance must be by the best master. There is a light to guide speed on the highway. You have a car. At night, you are driving at high speed on a good highway. There is a light in front of the car, and this light allows you to go ahead and drive. If there is no light, on a dark night, you may drive very carefully, slowly, but you may hit something else. So the guidance of the master or the guru and mantra—this mantra is like a torchlight for you to go through. Otherwise, meditation is also good, but you remain within thyself only; you cannot proceed further. That is why many people cannot be successful. So yoga is a science of body, mind, and consciousness, to achieve that Self-realization or God-realization, or to become one with the universe. You have the techniques; you are practicing yoga in your life, or maybe sharing other systems—it is all right. The main thing is that you are doing, and you are doing the right things. Keep your mantra with you all the time. That will always make us aware, conscious or unconscious; our progress will be continuous. We are in the car as a co-driver or a passenger; we are sleeping. We know our driver is awakened, and our driver is very good. Trust in your driver, and from time to time, say, "How are you?" So your mantra, your sādhanā, your meditation is your driver. Then do not worry about anything. But the driver should have a license and good training. What does the license mean? Mantra. Otherwise, karma, the saṃskāra, the destiny, will stop you. "Listen, turn back." So an authentic mantra, ceremony—yes, go ahead. In our technology, there are principles and rules. Similarly, for human life to proceed towards the Supreme, there are also principles. So, my dear ones, I know you are practicing; you have everything. But I just come to make you more aware about this. And the lost needle—you found it now. Where? Within thyself. So there is no darkness. When you say your mantra, God’s name, there is light within us. Yoga has many different techniques and branches, but it is very simple, very easy, and sure, as I have told you this evening. I wish you all the best: a good, happy, healthy life and success in your practice. God bless you. Adios.
