Yoga and meditation

Meditation is a path to inner harmony through self-inquiry. A mantra purifies energy, creating positive vibration. Begin by chanting Aum, the cosmic resonance present before creation. Sit motionless, relax the body, and coordinate it with natural breath. Awareness moves to the heart, the seat of happiness, peace, and compassion. This inner love, akin to a parent's love, is a constant source. Positive energy emanates from the heart, coloring one's being. Consciousness is pure, but thoughts impart a color, shaping reality. Mastery over this determines a life of peace or sorrow. The individual soul experiences the world, while the eternal ātmā within is indestructible, like the sky. True security comes from cultivating universal love rooted in the lineage of life itself. Yoga harmonizes body, mind, and spirit.

"Lead us from unreality to reality. Lead us from darkness to light."

"Your heart is pure. Your consciousness is very pure. Your awareness is very alert. But what color are your thoughts?"

First of all, welcome to all of you. It is nice to see you. We will begin with a mantra. A mantra is a Sanskrit word for a prayer that purifies energy. You will feel it. A positive vibration will arise within you. Whenever we begin any undertaking, we believe that remembering God or a mantra harmonizes the energy and ensures success. Our subject today is yoga, and one branch of yoga is meditation. Life is a journey, not a destination, but meditation is a path to our destination. We will begin with that after the mantra. So, you should all chant with me. You can close your eyes or leave them open. If they are closed, you will concentrate better and feel better. If your eyes are open, there may be a little more disturbance. It is your choice. If you wish, close your eyes, and we will chant Aum once. Many of you know what Aum is. Aum is a cosmic resonance. The first resonance before creation begins is through sound. This resonance is the supreme Brahman. Scientists from NASA discovered and proved this; they played a recording, and there is a YouTube video about it. The resonance from the sun is OṂ, very clearly. So you can read about it or hear it. Therefore, that resonance is the first, before any kind of creation, even before our Earth existed. So, let's chant Aum: A-U-M, representing the beginning, middle, and end—the trinities. Close your eyes. This is already the beginning of anti-stress meditation. Close your eyes and relax inwardly. We will chant the mantra OM, and you will feel it because that is the energy, the reality. Withdraw yourself from the external world and be aware of your being here. Just feel relaxed and happy. Take one deep inhale and exhale. Now we will chant Aum. First, take a deep inhale. Asato mā sad gamaya. Lead us from unreality to reality. Tamaso mā jyotir gamaya. Lead us from darkness to light. Mṛtyor mā amṛtaṁ gamaya. Lead us from mortality to immortality. Oṁ Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ. Oṁ peace, peace, peace. Feel yourself sitting here in this hall. Feel your being in this hall. Withdraw yourself from the external world. Take one deep inhale and exhale, and relax. Relax your whole body from the toes to the top of the head, and from the top of the head down to the toes. Feel the motionlessness of the body and feel your breath. You know that you are inhaling, and you know that you are exhaling. Let your breath flow very naturally. Do not change the breath rhythm. Feel the motionlessness of the body. When you feel your body motionless, relaxed, and comfortable, then you will feel your aura—the energy field around your body. It extends about twenty centimeters from your body, like light. If you are motionless, relaxed, and comfortable, you will feel this, your own positive, divine, pure energy. In these minutes, just be one with yourself. Relax. Coordinate your body and breath together. This means the body expands slightly during inhalation, especially the trunk, and contracts during exhalation. Relax, and now bring your awareness toward your heart. Do not change the breath rhythm. Do not move the body. Just pay your attention towards the heart and feel the heartbeat. Feel the pleasure in the heart. The place of the heart is happiness: happiness, joy, peace, harmony, compassion, and light. That is within your heart. Relax. Feed your heart. Let your brain be very relaxed. For the time being, do not give any tension by thinking about anything. Your true place is in the heart: happiness, peace, light. Now, try to develop this feeling of happiness throughout the whole body, emanating from your own heart. What you need comes from within you, whatever you look for. Therefore, the outer world is temporary. No matter how much happiness and joy you feel there, it is temporary. You are the master of peace, harmony, compassion, light, and happiness. Relax. Feel within you that love which you have—the real love, like the love of a father or mother. Other kinds of love may come to you, but you never know. Or the love of the Divine Masters, like Mahāprabhujī, or all holy saints. To become free from mental tension and to become happy again, that love is within you as the love of a father or mother. Maybe some of you did not get enough love from your parents, but that capacity for love is within you. Relax. If you want to be completely safe in this world, to feel completely free, then express your love for your mother and father from your heart. Your love for all creatures, from your heart, is endless. The material things we give are limited. Relax. You have the blessings to give your blessings to the world. To the world and all your best friends: peace, peace, peace. It may happen that some of you, in your awakening, have certain recurring thoughts, and you are stuck on that point. They come again and again. But if you let them go now and develop forgiveness, and develop the love of the father and mother... Relax. Now, bring your positive thought towards the eyebrow center. You are, and you can, and you will achieve your destination. Relax. Just with your inner eyes, gaze at the center of the eyebrows, behind the forehead wall, in the inner space. Try to see in your inner space, or imagine, a beautiful, tiny flame. Yes, you will see a beautiful candle flame. Imagine and realize the light. Let all the darkness disappear—the darkness of tensions, darkness of sorrows, unhappiness; let all negative feelings dissolve in the light of the inner flame of your wisdom. Realize this flame, this light. And again, bring your attention or awareness towards the heart and say mentally: I am happy. I am happy. Peace within myself. Light within myself. Peace, peace, peace. And now, make a few thoughts. First thought: With this energy which you have now, may my whole body remain healthy. Feel the healthiness, the wellness in your whole body. Second thought: Merciful Lord, bless me that I will never think negatively about others and myself. Third thought: Thy blessing, thy mercy, be with me. I am happy, I am free, and I am in peace. With this, with good thoughts, send your blessings to the whole world: forgiveness, understanding, peace, harmony, and blessing. That is what we can give. Feel your whole body and feel your breath. Feel your happiness, and be aware of your being here. Become extroverted, and we will chant OṂ three times. With this, you become extroverted in this world, with positive thoughts and positive energy. We will chant "OṂ" three times. Take a deep inhale. Move your fingers. Stretch. Expand your fingers, close them into a fist, open the palm, close the fist. Rotate the wrists in both directions. Now fold your palms together at your heart, and make your saṅkalpa, your wish. Say: "O merciful Lord, fulfill my wish and help me to overcome all my weakness and sorrows." Peace, peace. Rub your palms together and place them on your face. Open your eyes and put your hands down. So, the anti-stress meditation, according to Yoga in Life, is the self-inquiry meditation. The mantra is immense power. That mantra develops in our brain, and its roots are in the heart. It develops in humans in the form of thought and sound, which we call the world. This can be positive, divine, or negative. In reality, the energy is positive, but it changes according to our quality, our feelings: our happiness, joy, love, or anger, hate, jealousy, cruelty, etc. Look at this glass, a beautiful transparent glass, and this clean, pure water is also very transparent. Now, whatever color we put into it, the water will change into that color. So your heart is pure. Your consciousness is very pure. Your awareness is very alert. But what color are your thoughts? That color will tint your whole body immediately, from the toes to the top of the head. Either happiness, love, harmony, and oneness develop, or anger develops within no time. This is what we have to master; then we are successful. If you tell someone, "Hello, sir, how are you?" well, the person is happy, thinking, "How kind this person is." So you give color to others, and you develop colors within you: the color of happiness and kindness. Or you say, "Hey, bloody guy!" Now what will happen? What color will that person have, and through their reaction, what color will you have? It can even change into the color of blood, of bleeding. Therefore, our consciousness, our intellect, our awareness, our mind, and our energy lead our life either into sorrows and terrible things, or to a happy, healthy, peaceful, good life. And which I told you in meditation: the love of mother and father. Yes, it is lifelong. Others, we cannot trust. Maybe it will be lifelong, for many lives, but parents... Maybe in certain situations or circumstances, there was a little disharmony between wife and husband, and children were suffering because of our modern education, our modern way of educating children, where ethics and spirituality are missing. Social education is missing, and that is why the whole world is suffering. So we have to develop that one love: mother and father. It is said that blood is thicker than water. And that blood, no one can create—no scientist can create one drop of blood. But your father and mother can give you that blood. So, if we develop this love towards all, then we are in safety and security. No problems. So the consciousness, intellect, awareness, mind, senses, desires, wishes—this is rotating in our body. From time to time, we should check them. Exactly. Then we have no tensions. We will live a happy life. Then comes more about God, and this and that. Ultimately, we have to go through that one, what we call God. And God is like the sky. God is forever lasting, will not die, and is everywhere. And that part of God is within us. In the Bhagavad Gītā, Kṛṣṇa said that the ātmā in you, no one can destroy. No one can damage it. No one can burn it. No death can take you away, and no weapons can kill you. Death cannot take you away, and that is within ourselves. That you are, and that is called ātmā. The body is mortal. The mind is different. Awareness, consciousness—these are all different quarters in our body. But that ātmā is not the soul. Souls are different. Souls are many: my soul, your soul. Each creature, down to a tiny ant, has a soul and an ātmā. The soul is the object, the entity. And the ātmā is invisible, formless. You cannot touch it, you cannot smell it, you cannot burn it, you cannot destroy it, but it is always within you or with you. So that God, as we describe, is called like the sky. We cannot cut the sky, we cannot burn the sky, we cannot destroy the sky. There is nothing we can do to the sky. In this room where we are sitting, there is a space. And where we are sitting, long, long ago, it was only a forest. And before that, there were glaciers, the oceans. The sky—what we see—everything is moving within the sky, but the sky does not move anywhere. It is eternal, everlasting. So this jīva, the individual soul, is moving in the sky, like a fish in the ocean. And who is afraid? Who has fear? It is the soul, because the soul experiences pain and pleasure. So we have to go to that point where there is that kind of harmony, peace, and oneness. So, it is said, "Blood is thicker than water." And that blood, from where is it coming? Everything is in that blood: your parents, your grandparents, your great-grandparents, all your generations. All is in you still. So if we become aware of this, then we will not be in stress. You will lead a very happy life, and you will make many, many others happy. So yoga, which is a very ancient science of body, mind, and soul, is Yoga in Life: physical, mental, social, and spiritual health. It is a scientific system. It is firsthand, and it is coming from master to master. Just as you belong to certain parents and countries, the things that exist in your body show the truth. Not that I am Russian, or I am Czech, or I am Slovak, or I am Hungarian, no. It is in your blood, in your soul, and then, of course, there is the one: God, Brahman. So mantra is one of the greatest powers in our brain and in our heart. Or negative energy: fighting, hate, killing, destroying, etc. Through mantra, we can calm that down. So whatever you do, you should remember Gaṇeśa. Gaṇeśa is that which removes all obstacles. It creates a very clean and harmonious atmosphere, gives you good thoughts, and gives prosperity. So first is Gaṇeśa. Brahmā, Viṣṇu, Śiva, Kṛṣṇa, Rāma, Buddha, Jesus—all are after. The first is Gaṇeśa, and then different mantras. When you build a house, when you perform an earth-breaking ceremony, first you should say, "Jaya Gaṇeśa." It will be successful, building the house. So Gaṇeśa is not only a physical form, but that is energy. Gaṇ means all, the divine, the Godhead. And Īśa, he is the Lord of all. So he is in every energy, like the different cells in our body, organs, muscles, nerves. Everything is harmonized by one energy, the prāṇa, and that is Gaṇeśa. So, next time... I have taken a lot of your time. I wish you all the best: a happy, healthy, comfortable, good life. Bless you. Thank you. Thank you. So, Rado explained to you about Mahāprabhujī, his master, Devapurījī, Alagpurījī, coming from Satyuga, and our holy Gurujī. He was in your country a few years ago, and now we are all... so we will see who is the good. Up to my holy guru GBR, and now you and me, we are streaming in the same ocean. So you said, "You help me, and I help you," like walking on an icy road. You hold me, and I hold you, so that we do not slide. So I pray for you to have a good life. No, don't be a Jew. Anyhow.
