Yoga in Daily Life leads to good health

Children are the culture of tomorrow, and yoga is the education that creates perfect humans.

Yoga guides children away from negative habits and toward a bright future through practice, song, and parental support. It leads to non-violence, peace, health, and happiness. True happiness is a free gift from God within us; unhappiness comes from the outer world. We must look within first, as our inner state projects outward. Respecting all creations and seeing one God in all names fosters a world without war. Prayer or mantra to any divine form brings help and dispels loneliness, for in meditation we are one with ourselves. Yoga is a practical science for body, mind, and soul; practice is essential over mere theory. Health comes from exercise and sāttvic nourishment, primarily vegetarianism. Killing animals transfers suffering and fear to consumers, affecting health. A vegetarian lifestyle promotes well-being, sharp memory, and freedom from disease.

"God gave us happiness free of charge. No tax. No payment."

"Tons of theory are nothing compared to one gram of practice."

Thank you very much, respected Mayor of the city, the Director of the school, all dear brothers and sisters, and all our very dear children. Children are the culture of tomorrow. In which direction children go, in that direction will go our country and our world. Yoga is that kind of education that makes the human a perfect human. Nowadays, there are many different kinds of societies, and especially for our children, if they will do like this yoga practice—like these exercises, singing, and with the support of their parents—I am sure these children will not go on to other habits. Because we know nowadays there are many, many different kinds of habits, like drugs, which spoil the life of the children, make the parents unhappy, and bring into society a not good impression. I thank very much our dear Sītā, that she worked very hard for yoga in her life, and she is teaching from her heart. We can see how, with happiness, with joy, with freedom, she is teaching and giving love to the children so that they will have a bright future. As I said, the children are the culture of tomorrow. So I am very thankful that they gave me nice pictures. It will remain in my memories and in my collection, so there are many, many nice pictures here and there. There is one whole book written with very nice things. I want to give this to you, Jasna. In March, when I look into your eyes, and so on, it is like watching the night sky, so like this, there are so many nice… or a beautiful sunrise, there is so much heart, and so on. So these are from our children. They are beautiful flowers. I am proud of the parents that they have such nice, beautiful children, and that the children are getting the education here in this school and the education of yoga. Yoga leads us to non-violence and peace. Yoga teaches us how to live healthy and how to live happy. When I came today from Vienna, I stopped in one city in Austria. It is called Gardsome Camp, and in this Gardsome Camp, there is my old, old disciple from 1971. He has a beautiful, big chemistry shop, and today I visited him again. It was very much happiness there, so that in his chemistry shop and the house, his children, they are so beautiful and so happy, radiating a beautiful light. My first disciple, he is already 90 years, entering now into 91, and his children are also grown. His name is Leotolda, and I was with him today, so they were very happy. So, when you practice yoga, you can always change. Life is going on, you see. See me inside. So, well, yoga makes us happy. God gave us happiness free of charge. No tax. No payment. God does not ask for anything. But He gave us very precious things, and that is called happiness. Unhappiness comes from the outer world. Any kind of disappointment, unpleasant situations, the situation in the world—all is coming from the outer world. But in our heart, God gave us peace, happiness, joy, freedom, mercy, forgiveness, and love. These things God gave us; we do not have to learn anything, because we have them. But now we became extrovert. We are looking only far. God gave us beautiful eyes to look first within, and what is inside projects outside, and then what you see outside, you can change that view. Of course, there are many things happening, things which maybe we cannot change, but if we send energy, if we send forgiveness, if we give tolerance, if we try to respect and see all as the creation of one God—God is one. But there are different incarnations, but in reality there is only one God. We call him Brahman, they call him Allah, and you call him Holy Father. Names are different, but God is one. Languages are different, but humanity is one. This is what we can learn, our young generation. Definitely, if it goes like this, in the world there will be no war, there will be no criminal activities or negative activities. Because we will forget these things, we will only have happiness and joy. We shall respect all humans, and all humans should love every creation. Each and every entity is a light of God. We have not created anything. Even a very small ant is created by the one Supreme One. Therefore, we are protectors as humans, not distractors. So our love is in our heart. That is what we call mercy. The mantra, well, in Christianity there are also many mantras. In Australia, I had a conference; it was a multi-religious conference. And there was the one bishop in Melbourne, and we were sitting together, and he spoke to me. He said, "Master, Swāmījī, I have my mantra. Would you like to give me a second mantra?" I said, mantra is only one; a second is not necessary. So he told me, "Do you know what my mantra is?" I said, "I do not know." He said, "I repeat one mantra every day," and he said: "Merciful Mother Maria, I pray for Thy mercy. The Merciful Holy Mother Maria, I pray for Thy mercy." Remember this mantra. If you do not know, so I give you this mantra. Whenever you have some problems, a disappointment or depression, confusion or loneliness, where should we go? Only to God. God can be female too, because there are no gender differences. Gender differences are only in the material world. But the divine soul which is within us is the same. And so, if you pray to Holy Mary, or Jesus, or Durgā, or Pārvatī, or Śiva, or Viṣṇu, or Allah, they are all divine. Whomever you call upon will help you. God will never say no. He has no word "no." We have word number N-O, so prayer. Mantra. While practicing āsanas, while practicing prāṇāyāma and meditation, it helps us to come back to ourself, to understand ourself. There is no depression. There is no loneliness. There is no loneliness. There was one man meditating, sitting in the forest for a long time. A farmer came and thought, "This person is very lonely." So he went to that person, who was a yogī meditating, and he went there and said, "Sir, what are you doing?" He said, "I am meditating." He said, "I think you are lonely. You are sad. Lonely." He said, "Yes, I am lonely since you came here. When I was meditating, I was one with myself. Now I am lonely because you are here." So when you look to the world, you will be lonely, but when you come to thyself, you are not lonely. So I make one minute interval, or half a minute, because our dear children need to go to sleep. So parents and the children, please slowly, slowly, you can go. Love you, children. All the best. Thank you, parents. So when we do the exercises, then again we become aware of ourselves. When we do āsanas and prāṇāyāmas, harmony develops in the body. So yoga in daily life is the scientific system, and it is for everyone, like our dear Sītā. She is a very good Yoga in Daily Life teacher, and in your country we have hundreds of yoga teachers. Nearly in every village we have some Yoga in Daily Life practices. So, practicing yoga, if we continue practice, then the health problems will be solved. Of course, if there is an accident, or something is broken, yoga cannot do anything. You have to go to the orthopaedic doctor to have your operations. Otherwise, I can say to you, 90% of all kinds of illnesses will remain away from us. So yoga is a science of body, mind, and soul. Yoga in daily life leads to health: physical, mental, social, and spiritual health. So practice yoga, and your life will be comfortable. Your life will be healthy, you will have no depressions, and you will have no inner loneliness. Yoga is a practical thing. It is said that tons of theory are nothing compared to one gram of practice. So practice is the practice. Practice makes perfect. So, only talking about yoga, or reading only the books about yoga, or thinking of yoga, will not help you that much. That is only information that is awakening us, that gives us information, but practice is very important. Many people begin with yoga, then they give up. Then again, their health will be like before. Second, nourishment. Healthy food, and we always advise being vegetarian. The first thing it said is, "Thou shalt not kill any animal." If you kill, you will have the same pain as if someone were to kill us. Every parent of the animal's babies, if they kill them, the mother is unhappy, like a human mother will be unhappy. So even if you are not killing that animal, you are still eating. So the karma comes there. So it is said, "Thou shalt not kill. Let them be happy and free." Secondly, we do not know which kind of illness that animal had. And that, when humans eat, that goes to their body. But we call it cancer. Animals also have cancers, but you do not see it in them. It just goes with the flesh, and it goes into the human body. The fear which animals have, that fear goes to the humans. Because it is developing when they come to know that they will be killed. Then these animals know, and at that time, fear develops in them. If a doctor tells us that, unfortunately, in two months you will die, you have such a disease, you know, these two months for the person are a horror. From death, we are all afraid. Maybe not from death, but how one will die, which kind of fear: through accident, through fire, earthquake, or many different things. We are afraid of the pain. When the doctor gives an injection, just a little injection, then you go to the dentist. Okay, here is okay, here is… okay. But this dear doctor, the dentist, said, "Open mouth." I close my eyes, and then I open my eyes. A very tiny, thin needle going into our flesh. But the heartbeat is 135. Fear. And such a fear have all creatures. And that transfers that karma onto them who will do. So it goes to those who sell the animals, who slaughter the animals, who sell the meat, and who eat it. It goes to all when the river is flowing; it goes till the ocean. Everywhere, all are getting water. When the cold waves come, it goes to feeling everyone. Our heart feels everyone. God has given us this beautiful body. So what we eat, that is very important. And that is called sāttvic food, pure. And eat organic food. When I came first time to Austria, about 70, there was no question of organic food, and now everything is manipulated. And that is also the cause that we are not healthy. So, dear, there are two things which keep us healthy: nourishment and exercises that will help us to become healthy, happy, and free. Therefore, yoga is a science of body, mind, and soul. Now, yoga has become international. Where there is a human, there is yoga. And all yoga practitioners, 90% or 85%, they are vegetarians, what they call vegans. And many, many, when they become vegan, their many diseases go away. Their eyesight develops again. The fear goes away, and memory becomes the best. You know, many people, after certain years, memory is going away. But vegetarians have the best memory, and they enjoy life. So practice your āsanas, prāṇāyāmas, and try to eat healthy food. Thank you very much for inviting me, and tomorrow I am still here. So we will have some exercises, some meditation tomorrow. This evening was dedicated for our beautiful children, and they made a great, great performance. I admire them and thank their parents, and especially our dear… Director of this school, she is the mother of all children. Also, our Sītā, and then the head of the city is here. Our dear Mayor of the city, we thank him for giving this opportunity and also that he came here. So, thank you and wish you a very good night. Tomorrow is a different subject, and Sītā will inform us. So, thank you and God bless you. Thank you, and may God bless you. Om Śānti, Śānti, Śānti. Adios.
