Mahashivaratri satsang from Khatu

This sacred Siddha Pīṭha is established by the grace of Śiva and the tapasyā of the lineage. The tradition continues from the Satya Yuga. A Siddha attains the highest spiritual state of samādhi and nirvāṇa. This place is a center of spiritual energy generated by the meditation of past masters. Śivarātri holds great significance, commemorating the original Yogi, Bhagavān Śiva, who consumed the world's poison for universal welfare. In such energy fields, even minimal sādhana has a powerful effect. This human life is a rare opportunity for spiritual welfare. Saints require only śraddhā and purity of mind; happiness is found in their company, not in wealth. This land of tapas was made fertile by sages for humanity's benefit. India is the hope of the world, the divine land where all sages are born. Yoga, rooted here, is a transformative practice for rising to a divine state. A resolve must be made to practice it integrally.

Part 1: The Sacred Siddha Pīṭha and the Grace of Śiva The lineage of Paramahaṃsa Deepa Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān, of Yogi Rāja, of the one thousand eight Maheśvarānanda, of Purījī Mahārāja, of Jagadguru Mahārāja, and of Jasrāja Purījī Mahārāja—along with these Siddhas, the Vedic mantras and the Rudrābhiṣeka of Bhagavān Śiva were performed. In this Siddha tradition, the Śiva-svarūpa, the supreme Yogi Rāja, Gurudeva Maheśvarānanda Jī, is present among us. It is a great blessing for all of us to receive the darśana of Mahārāja; it is truly a matter of immense fortune and reverence. Even in this Kali Yuga, the form of Bhagavān, which has been present since Satya Yuga through all the ages, is manifest before us in the form of our Guru, who is established as Bhagavān Himself and the Siddha. The tradition of the Pīṭha has been continuing since the Satya Yuga. A Siddha is a person who attains the highest spiritual heights, who reaches the state of samādhi, who experiences nirvāṇa. Such beings are adorned with the title of Siddha. So, in this Siddha Pīṭha, where from the Himalayas... There is a special reason for being in this place as well. Dīpāpurījī Mahārāja engaged in meditation and spiritual practice here, and we are benefiting from the energy he generated. It is because of that energy and its field that this sacred Siddha Pīṭha was established here. This is for the sake of this very field and for the entire world. I believe that the light of ātman kindled by our Paramagurudeva, Maheśvarānanda Jī Mahārāja, has established another dimension here, and it is our good fortune that on the occasion of Śivarātri, all of us have gathered in this sacred event. In spirituality, Śivarātri holds great significance and we should celebrate it. The original Yogi is Bhagavān Śiva, and from Bhagavān Śiva originated the traditions of dhyāna, yoga, trance, and spiritual practice. In those times, for the welfare of the world, when Hālāhala Viṣa... And when the poison was consumed and the effect of the poison came upon them, everyone referred to the stories found in their Purāṇas, which are very detailed. I will not go into such detail with you. On this day, there is also mention of the marriage of Bhagavān Śiva and Mā Bhavānī Pārvatī. On such occasions, Bhagavān has done so for our welfare. Bhagavān Śiva took the poison for our welfare because Dharatī Mātā also said that she could not bear it. When the ocean was churned and Viṣa emerged from it, Dharatī Mātā said that it was so poisonous that she could not endure it. Then the devas said, "What should we do? Whom should we turn to? There is no solution." If even the earth does not accept it, then how will life, the living entity, accept it? In such a situation, the deities said that the great yogī, the supreme yogī Bhagavān Śiva, only by the power of yoga, by the power of spirituality and sādhana, can endure this, can bear this, can turn it to ashes. If it is possible, then Bhagavān Śiva said that for the welfare of you all and the world, I will partake of it. And Bhagavān Śiva is the Deva of devas. So on this occasion, we too should engage in spiritual practice, meditation, and bhajana in such a sacred place of spiritual energy. And wherever... When Paramagurudeva is present, His knowledge and divine vision are bestowed upon us, which accelerates and greatly enhances this work. In places that are special centers of energy, even a little sādhana has a much stronger effect. For this reason, we visit tīrtha places, which are Siddha Pīṭhas. There is a prescribed way to have their darśana; we go there and engage in sādhana. This is a very sacred opportunity for ourselves and for everyone. It is by the grace of Bhagavān Śiva that we have come to this awakened land to listen to the jñāna, to hear the mantra, and to partake in the blessings of Bhagavān Śiva and Rudrābhiṣeka. And the most important thing is that the souls present among us in the form of bodies, whether from the country, the world, or even abroad, are certainly souls connected to some ṛṣi-muni and the tradition of spirituality. Only then can everyone come to such a sacred place and meditate, and I also got the opportunity. May all of you receive the blessings of your village companions, noble sages, and Gurumahārāja’s darśana. May their grace and blessings remain upon all of you in this field, and may Bhagavān Śiva grant everyone supreme well-being and auspiciousness. With this, Śrī Hari, thank you. We are all gathered here in this sacred place today. We are blessed with the opportunity to receive the darśana and discourses of so many saints. Sūryanātha Jī Mahārāja has also spoken to us about the glory of Mahāśivarātri, for the glory of Mahāśivarātri was celebrated even yesterday, and today as well, the glory of Mahāśivarātri is being celebrated in the āśramas of many saints. And because this place is the abode of Lord Śiva, there is no deity who becomes pleased more quickly than Bhagavān Śiva. Either Bhagavān Śiva becomes pleased the fastest, or the saints and mahātmās do. Saints require nothing; they only need śraddhā. Our minds must have purity. If we go to the āśrama of saints with pure feelings and devotion, then every desire of ours is fulfilled. People in today’s age only look at money; they measure everything by money. But money is not the cause of happiness. Saints and sages say that money is actually the greatest cause of sorrow. If peace and happiness can be found anywhere, it is in the company of saints, and today we are experiencing that happiness here because this is a sacred land of tapas. You all know that in such barren places, where there was not even water, saints and great sages performed tapasyā. For whom did they do it? Was it for themselves? There is absolutely no doubt that for the welfare of humanity, saints have undertaken tapas and kevala, and kevala is the sole cause. We must have faith in the enlightened souls and saints, and we need to maintain this faith. We can make this resolve in such a gathering of men and women. Another young saint is present among us, Bālakānanda Jī Mahārāja is here with us. It is a great fortune for us that we have the blessings of Gāḍīpati Śrī Maheśvarānanda Jī Mahārāja, who has attained the status of Jagadguru and Viśvaguru. It is indeed a great blessing that we are receiving the praṇidhāna of saints, some coming from nearby places like Sardārpur and others from distant, out-of-the-country lands. These saintly mahāpuruṣas and devotees are present here. And today, the establishment of Siddha Pīṭha is being done here, a separate Purī Siddha Pīṭha is being established. This is a great blessing for us. What Mahārāja has auspiciously done in such a forest is truly remarkable, and just now Nāda Jī Mahārāja has shared almost everything he intended to convey. We all, the devotees, earnestly request you that Mahārāja has granted you this great fortune. If we do not achieve the welfare of our life while residing in this human body, then there is no other such birth, no other such path through which we can attain the welfare of our life. Therefore, this human life... In this sacred and pure land of wind, today we have all gathered here, and this is a great blessing for us from Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Paramahaṃsa Viśvaguru Garam Samrāṭ Śāntidūta Paramapūjya Meśvarānanda Purī Jī, whose guidance is followed by almost the entire world, spanning nearly 150 countries wherever you go. Your āśrama is here, and people from all over the world are intently watching you, hoping that Mahārājī will guide us and show us the path. You can see the scene of this gathering; hundreds of foreign devotees are present here with Mahārājī today. Our dharma is connected to the eternal culture of our... The country, our people are moving away from that Sanātana culture, yet the entire world is embracing it; the whole world is being drawn towards it. Whenever I get the opportunity to cover Mahārājī’s activities, I see how, when Mahārājī eats, his devotees gather around him in such a manner that... We have others perform bhajana for Mahārājī, we serve the vegetables, we serve the bread; the service of Mahārājī creates a deep attachment, and this was the tradition of our country, which we used to uphold. But these people are telling us that the tradition you are leaving behind is the very tradition we wish to uphold, because in it there is happiness, in it there is bliss. And you can see that even today, devotees of Mahārājī are present in the pavilion. I am speaking of this tradition because one such devotee of Mahārājī, Austrālian Maheśa Jasrāja Purī Jī Mahārāja, who is present here, has also been honored with the title of Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara. And this upādhi is attained through bhakti, this upādhi is attained through jñāna. That jñāna was received by Jasrāja Purī Jī from the presence of Meśvarānanda Purī Jī Mahārāja. Now, let us listen to the discourses directly from the mouth of Jasrāja Purī Jī Mahārāja. We are in the middle of it. I humbly request you all to applaud once as we welcome Rājakumāra Jī. Please welcome and honor, now let us listen to the sacred discourse from the venerable mouth of Jasrāja Purījī Mahārāja. Salutations to the Satguru, who is the witness of all, beyond becoming, transcending the three guṇas. May all my limbs, speech, prāṇa, eyes, ears, strength, and all the senses be healthy and strong. May everything declared in the Upaniṣads about Brahman never be denied by me, and may I never deny Brahman. Let there be no denial of Brahman, let there be no denial. Oṃ Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ Hari Oṃ. I offer my countless respectful salutations, bowing down at the feet of Paramapūjya Śrī Satya Gurudeva. I extend my praṇāma to all the saints, venerable ones, and respected gentlemen seated on the stage, to the mothers, the elders, and to all the people who have come from Europe. First, I will speak in your English for those who understand. We are here today and yesterday on a very special occasion. Firstly, we had Śivarātri, and now today is the inauguration of the Siddha Pīṭha Gāḍī, or the seat here in this āśrama. As you know, for us this is somehow the center of our sādhana or the axle. Yours, yours... you. And for us also to give further. This was a place where Gurudeva performed his tapasyā. When you read the little amṛta, it is about Gurudeva’s tapasyā here. And about that time that he spent with Mahāprabhujī. And then he took that and imparted that knowledge to Svāmījī. And then Svāmījī bestows it upon us. So when we come here, and now Svāmījī has created this place where we too can come and appreciate it, we can stay all night, we can remain here, we can perform tapasyā, receive the blessings of Mahādeva, and come to have darśana. And the beauty of it is that we get to do it with Svāmījī also. So we are not here for a long time, but every moment we have here is a treasure. And every moment that we have here is perhaps something that we will cherish and appreciate in a few years, or ten years, or twenty years, and think how fortunate we were to be here today and how fortunate we were to be here last night. Svāmījī, if you had seen this Āśrama, if you had come... Here, when it first began, Svāmījī was putting it all together, observing the land, its shape, the slope, and the weeds that were everywhere. And now, when you see it as it is today, you realize what we say in Hindi—a chamatkāra, a miracle, because it is so beautiful, and at that time when you would look at the land, you would wonder what Svāmījī will do with this. I mean, how many times do you see something that Svāmījī takes, and then we think what will he do with this, and suddenly out of it emerges this amazing, amazing āśrama. In the Kumbha Melā, the amazing camps that he designs and organizes, and then we get to come and enjoy here in Jādan, everywhere, all over the world. You know it from your own countries and you know it from your own āśramas. So this is a place for us that will remain like a treasure forever. And today, when they perform the pūjā and then Svāmījī inaugurates that gāḍī, that seat, then this becomes a center to which we can always return, to receive His blessing throughout all time. And generations after generations can come and receive that blessing. Now it has become English, see, this place—when we come from abroad, for us it is like a bindu, a point of power; it is a Siddha place, a yoga place as well. In all the countries of the world, there are great places of worship of Dhūna, and there are āratis performed. You see, this is a place far away from the city, in seclusion, yet the whole world knows it. It is famous because of Mahāprabhujī’s power, Mahāprabhujī’s blessings, Mahāprabhujī’s radiance, and the tapasyā of our Dādgurujī Svāmī Maheśvarānanda Jī, and the blessings that he received from Mahāprabhujī, and also in your Paramābhāṣā, what Dādgurujī does in yoga is that you all do āsana in the morning, but you do not perform Sūrya Namaskāra. However, the āsana similar to Sūrya Namaskāra that you do is called Kāṭhā Praṇāma, and along with it, you take the Kāṭhā mantra and also take the name of Kāṭhā. And why do you do Kāṭhā Praṇāma? It means that the children of this entire country bow to Kāṭhā. Now, Bābājī here has eternally dedicated this Siddhagirī ki sthāpana for the whole assembly. The salutations to Kāṭhā, the namaskāras to Kāṭhā, and the āratis to Kāṭhā will never cease. This will be a perfected gathering, a gathering of sannyāsīs. It is also understood as the power seat of Bābājī. Their yogic power is such that even when Bābājī is immersed in Vireśa and chanting the name of Kāṭhā, everyone is awake; yet we can still come. They can give their blessings, and receiving those blessings is in your hands—you have to come. Here too, you must focus on the mantra that Bābājī gives. You will realize that this is being watched all over the world, meaning it is live across the entire world, and the eyes of the whole world, as well as the āśraya, are here today, watching you and remaining at the feet of the others. Oṃ Bole Śrī Dīpa Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān Nī Kī Jaya, O Satguru Deva Kī Jaya. Thank you, thank you,... Marasatī. Therefore, the one constant, pure, and unchanging witness of all intellect is the Self, beyond all states, free from the three guṇas, worthy of the highest reverence. I bow to that. Oṃ, peace, peace, peace. May there be peace in dharma and adharma, in all beings, in the world, in the cow as mother, in the great mother India. Namo Śivāya, Śivāya... Śī. Today, in this land of tapasyā, our beloved son of Nāgaur district, the jewel of Nāgaur district, Śyāma Chaudharī Śā, who is not only supporting Nāgaur but the entire Hindustān, with his profound thoughts, simple life, and who never speaks ill of anyone from his own mouth. They have not learned to take, they have not learned to take; they have learned from Dādā to only give, to give endlessly. That is why today our revered Bhagavān Śrī Dīpa Nārāyaṇa Mahāprabhujī, whose name resonates throughout the entire cosmos, and their revered Satguru Deva Svāmījī Maheśvarānanda Jī Mahādānī, whose glory echoes across the whole world... It is to come, this sacred land of tapasyā of Mahāprabhujī, where his caraṇaraja is, and among his sixty-four disciples, one is his revered Gurudeva, the emperor of Hindu Dharma, who performed tapasyā here with the Kāśī Viddhāt community. The people here who know Mahāprabhujī and Gurujī... Whether it is in Marwāṛ, or in Dāgor, or anywhere else, the same is said from their lips: there are many disciples, but those who have served Mahāprabhujī as Maheśvarānanda Jī Mahārāja did, and have followed his command, such disciples are very few. Among all the devotees and friends of this sacred land of ours... They say they will become like a diamond. Our people will go to Mañjū Bāgmā of Kāśī, and our MLA Ṣāhibā here, their nature is filled with great compassion. Both times, I have told Vasundharājī that this Mañjū Bāgmār is a professor, very learned. It is written, and if these are connected with you, then surely all your desires of every kind will be fulfilled. Dear ones, this is a dharma platform; here, devotees from all kinds of parties are seated. This is a dharma platform, not a platform for politics. Dharma is protected, yes, when a king establishes rules. And he called the public and said that everyone must follow and uphold these rules. If anyone disobeys or neglects them in any way, severe punishment will be given. But the king said, these rules do not apply to the king. Then the Śānta came, the Guru came. Part 2: The Dharma Daṇḍa and the Divine Land What did he bring in his hand? A daṇḍa. Holding that daṇḍa in his hand, he struck the king’s head three times with it. “O king, this is the dharma daṇḍa. This dharma daṇḍa is meant to discipline you, so do not say that these rules are only for society and not for the king.” Similarly, all those who bear our burden and serve the society and the nation so well… The devotee who is here for you, how much effort they are making to teach us. Just yesterday afternoon, they were in Delhi, then later in Surat, and after that for themselves. Why did you have the Surat program? You know, even today people were just going through the formality, so after completing the formality there, why did you… Whether I will definitely come or not, even then it was not written anywhere, so what should I do, should I write or not write? But my own soul says that you will definitely read it. So at five in the morning, there is no question of sleeping now. You are making Jaipur from this, and it is here. On behalf of all the people of the Jail district here, I sincerely thank you all. Many, many thanks to you and also to Bānjū Vaisā. And our doctors, they keep upgrading me, so they keep upgrading me continuously. If my shortcomings are pointed out, then let them be pointed out. The research that the Mahāprabhujī has done has already been revealed, but if one wants to understand it deeply, then our Nākarṇar Sāhab is dear. It is not easy to speak about this, but at least they have invested one crore rupees. I used to think, if I cannot eat so much, then what is the point? I left everything and returned to India with the resolve that I would heal the people of India and the world through yoga and Āyurveda, serve the land of India, and under the name of Svāmī Vivekānanda Jī Mahārāj, I would bring knowledge to the world. The chancellor there is also the one who established it. Once, when I met him—because we meet quite often—he caught a cold, so I asked if I should get him some medicine or something. He said, “No, no, nothing like that… I am not suppressing it; I will be fine by morning. Hey, take something, no?” In the morning, they say, you know that our Modī Sāhab has a guru, right? When he calls, Modī Sāhab says yes, otherwise no, so it’s not like that. So you also know, you were in Bangalore, from Bangalore you went to Kolkata yesterday. After working with the creator during the day, I returned to Jaipur in the evening on a late flight, and there is no question of sleeping in Jaipur anymore; now it has become like a diamond, not gold. Gold lies there, but here it is diamond. From there, just like our Chaudī Sāhab, we took a car and set off from there. Our prince, Rājubnā, you are setting off; you must… And all the great luminaries present here, all the saints seated in our assembly, and all of you who have come, I warmly welcome you all. Now, I will tell you a little about a poet named Kālidāsa, who lived two thousand four hundred years ago and wrote many works in Sanskrit. He wrote a book or a treatise called Meghadūta, and within Meghadūta, sometimes Kālidāsa writes something else, and after that comes the name of Alakh Purī Jī. Alakh Purī or Alakhā Purī is a kingdom, and in that very kingdom, when Kubera came from Laṅkā to the Himalayas, he came to reside there. So, Kubera was awakened by Vāṅ Alakā Purī Jī, and the name of that region is Kubera Pāḍ, which lies between Kedārnāth and Badrīnāth. In our Rāmāyaṇa as well as in the Mahāśyū Kuraan and other scriptures, there are references to Alak Purī Jī, and from that name, Alak Nandā is also called. And Alaknandā, which flows from Badrinath and the recesses of the Badrinath mountains, meets the Bhāgīrathī here at Dev Prayāg. The confluence of both Alaknandā and Bhāgīrathī at Dev Prayāg is where the complete Gaṅgā is said to begin. This very Siddha Pīṭha, Alaknandā, was established by our revered Daromār. I have been blessed with the opportunity to establish this here in the sacred land of Nāgaur, and this has been very auspicious for the people of our Nāgaur. There is much to say, but our Kyādri Sāhab is thinking in his heart that now he will say to Modī Jī, “This is not enough; please give me a helicopter so I can serve even more.” That is the matter. Now see, the globe of this world or the earth itself—I have circumnavigated it forty times. Having circumnavigated it forty times, how many countries have I visited? There, not even a single papad was left untouched; wherever I went, I had to do prāṇa-pāyana. After doing all this, many… We have seen different types of countries, seen various colors, witnessed many languages, seen everything, but our Gurudev has said, “Blessed, blessed is the land, blessed, blessed is the place where the Satguru is seen, where only those with self-knowledge are found.” It is not just any country or direction; all the sages and saints are born here. India is the hope of the world. Without India, the light of Ātma-Brahma cannot be attained. Revered Bhagavān Dīp Nārāyaṇa, the compassionate Brahmā teacher, gave us the bliss of knowledge and bliss of fearlessness—this is the gift of India. There is no country like Bhārat Mātā where Bhagavān Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Mahāprabhujī is not present. Mahāprabhujī’s seva, pūjā, wearing of mālā, chanting of mantra, waking up early in the morning and evening, and speaking of ārtha—there is no place where such activities do not happen, where my devotees are not found. That Mahāprabhujī’s lamp does not light up the darkness, so Mahāprabhujī came and said, “Why is this happening? Please call me, Minister, so that I may come.” Then call again, and when you write and send, I will come; there is no need to wait long. Then ask repeatedly, but I say, the child will not fall ill until then. So you should know that there is something called Sūrya Namaskār in yoga, but I have created an āsana called Khāṭū Namaskār, which has even more effect than Sūrya Namaskār on our body. Just now, our friend sitting here had two issues with his waist, but after practicing Khāṭū Praṇāma, all those ailments will be eliminated. So here we have foreign boys; they will come around and introduce themselves. Both boys are seated for the Khāṭū praṇām. Since there are two boys seated, let’s do a little bit of practice. Where are the boys? Come here, my friend, and you girls sitting there, brother, don’t delay, just go back, back, back. Okay girls, you come slowly, slowly… Khāṭū praṇāma. So, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20. In this, we have also added ant coasters, but we will talk about that later as there is no time now. So, this is called Khāṭū Praṇām. So today, today you all did a real Praṇām to Khāṭū. Thanks to that, but what can we do? The sad thing is that our minister Modī Jī is seated here, but if I may say, I will say this: today, we will not remember the old words, but we will remember new, different words. What is happening to prakṛti today? This Khaṭū mountain, this divine mountain where Bhagavān Śiva was present, where they had come and were residing. Bhagavān Devpurī Jī Mahārāj and Mahāprabhujī were here. What is happening to this Khaṭū mountain today? You say that the environment will be restored, it will be done, but at least save the trees in the hills; do not cut the trees, it kills the life. The fence was cut, and someone else’s was also cut, so if possible, we don’t want any trouble. We don’t want tiles either; I will plaster with cow dung, but why are you breaking this fence, brother? Even if the walls of our building here have cracks, we still don’t know who is responsible. How long will we keep rowing the boat? If we stop, the other thing, if we do, this will destroy our land and won’t even be fit for feeding our animals. Well, that is a different matter. The soil of my country is sacred and fertile; every child is Rām, the embodiment of the divine. Every child is Rām, and there is dust here. First, we humbly request our minister Modī to increase one or two classes in our local school. And here, play the beautiful sound of the bell loudly later when everyone has gathered. Besides this, we have many… If you could arrange for some work at the sarovar, we would remember you very fondly, and when you come with time, we will have you swim in the sarovar. In our Kachrās village, there is a school, but there is one more thing—our Nāgendra Jī is sitting here. I will call him from Bangalore soon to provide treatment. Whether it is yoga or Āyurvedic yoga, it is for healing. This is a very big problem, and it is hard to understand. Whenever someone falls ill, they have to go to the doctor, but there are obstacles on the way. When the road is blocked, the patient often dies. In our Kachrās village, a hospital is established, and with just this much, I put an end to my speech. And the other thing is that they say when one swan rises, the others rise along with it. If you hurry, you will develop the habit of rising early. But all of you have eaten, and it is prasāda for everyone. And you too, a little… Revered Mahāprabhujī, Svāmījī, all saints, my brothers and sisters, this… On this beautiful occasion, as we are invoking Śiva, and Mahāprabhujī has come here, in this beautiful place where this pūjā has taken place, it is indeed a very auspicious matter. This is Nāgaur, but we all know that diabetes is spreading very rapidly all over the world, including in our country. So, when we conducted a survey in Kamilnār among our friends and villagers, the percentage of diabetes used to be four percent, and in cities, diabetes used to be four percent as well. For the villagers, Dr. Mohan and the dietitians… For the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, they have provided the funds required for testing. This amount has been given to all the laboratories. Similarly, to support all those involved in yoga, they have also provided a good and effective resource. In Pūrṇa Khārat, we have trained two capable yoga instructors who will go to villages and cities to teach yoga, and within three months, there will be such a transformation that we will embrace it. A very good design has been created for this in every way. The world’s largest retailers have been brought together along with a big retailer, design, advisory board that has been formed by Dr. Bolton, who is the President of the European Diabetic Association. He has been the main person from Manchester University, Ashinath Dixit, and in India, there are great persons like Mohan and Dr. Prabhakaran. All these people have come together to create a very rigorous, robust, and controlled design for both rural and urban areas. The mantra, as we now understand, is that in our country, yoga has been made a temporary subject in every private school, vidyālaya, and high school. But it should be present in every set, so education must include it as a state subject. Therefore, it should be implemented in the state, and hence it should be in Rajasthan.
