Public lecture in Munich, Germany

Yoga is one union, the cosmic principle of balance and harmony uniting individual consciousness with the universal. It is the original force holding space and consciousness together, existing since the beginning of time. This singular truth manifests as the divine light within all beings. The human journey is an endless cycle through experiences, seeking reunion with this origin. The goal of human life is to realize this union, achieving health, contentment, and liberation. Practical systems like Haṭha, Karma, Bhakti, Rāja, and Jñāna Yoga are paths to integrate this principle into daily existence. True practice means living with positive speech, compassion, and self-discipline in every action.

"Yoga means union, oneness, balance, and harmony between body, mind, and soul, or the union of individual consciousness with cosmic consciousness."

"The goal of human life is not only to have children, eat, drink, and sleep, but we also have higher goals."

Part 1: Yoga in Daily Life A warm greeting to you all. Our joy that Svāmījī has come to Munich is very great. He has received numerous honors and awards at home and abroad for his social and interreligious projects. Through his personality, he is an example that the principles of Yoga can be lived and realized. His disciples lovingly call him Svāmījī. I have the pleasure of warmly welcoming our yoga teacher, the dear Satvī Hṛdayakamal, and I cordially invite you all to join us at our yoga center in Unterhaching after the lecture. We have guests from Hamburg, Croatia, and Austria who have come to enjoy the lecture. One of the greatest Indian philosophers and saints, Śaṅkarācārya, said that a person can experience happiness three times in their life. The first time is when he is born as a human, the second time when he encounters a master, and the third time when he recognizes a master. Today we have a great opportunity to listen to the magnificent Master Svāmījī and thereby gain the possibility to recognize what each one can change in their life to be happy, content, and healthy. So let us listen attentively to the lecture. In this spirit, I wish everyone a wonderful time with Svāmījī and am especially delighted that so many are interested in his wisdom. Finally, regarding the admission tickets: those who do not wish to keep them, please do not throw them away. Carmen will collect them at the end of the lecture by the exit. Thank you. It is very important to us that they are not simply discarded. Of course, everyone can retain them. But we keep receiving questions. People want pictures of Svāmījī, and we simply pass them on. You can also cut it. Anyone can frame it. And it would simply be a pity to throw them away. That is something we actually do not want to do. Therefore, if someone has no interest, simply put it in the basket by the door when they leave. Then we pass them on to those who are interested in the image of Svāmījī. And now I may introduce you to Dr. Lavika. She is a very close disciple of Svāmījī, who would also like to say a few words to warmly welcome you all. Mr. Jürgen, warm greetings and Hari Om. I have just arrived here in Munich, coming from Vienna with Svāmījī, and I am very happy to be here. It is Svāmījī’s first lecture in Munich again after a very long time. He was here once before, he mentioned during the journey, in the year 1973, if I remember correctly. There is now an ashram here, a yoga center, and Svāmījī will speak for those who may not yet know much about yoga, about the system of yoga in daily life, how through yoga in daily life one can achieve a better... how to lead life, how to better master everyday life, and how to integrate and apply this practice, these techniques, this science from the Indian tradition into our daily routine. I do not want to take up much more time now, so I warmly invite Svāmījī to come forward and begin his lecture. Hari Om. Oṃ Brahmāṇḍam, supremely blissful, the only one, knowledge itself, light beyond duality, like the sky, beyond perception—this is the object of meditation: one, eternal, pure, immovable, the lord of the senses and the witness, beyond becoming, free from the qualities of māyā, the true Guru. I bow to you. Oṃ śāntiḥ, śāntiḥ, śāntiḥ. Salutation to the Cosmic Light, Lord of our Hearts, Omniscient and Omnipresent. In His Divine Presence, a beautiful good evening to all dear brothers and sisters. I am pleased to be here in Munich. Yoga in daily life. Yoga is one Yoga. All over the world, wherever there are people, there is also yoga. There are not two types of Yoga, only one. There is only one God. We humans have given various names and forms. There is only one truth and there is only one soul in a body. There is only one Ātman or Self. And so, there is only one, that is Yoga. Yoga means union, oneness, balance, and harmony between body, mind, and soul, or the union of individual consciousness with cosmic consciousness. Yoga means union. There is one Yoga, and secondly, there is what is called Sanyoga. Sanyoga can be roughly described as coincidental. So perhaps it is by chance that we are here. A year ago, we did not know whether we would be together here. But we are together under one roof. It is also a yoga. Before that, I will continue speaking. I have a toy, I want to tell you. We say, the Swamis are like a child. This toy. And I press the red button and hold it longer. And something very beautiful happens. It endures. Thank you. Thank you very much. Yoga is an ancient principle that has existed since the beginning of time throughout the entire universe. Endless universe or cosmos, called Ānanda Brahman in the Sanskrit language, heaven, Ākāśa, endless. And the universe or Ākāśa is like a womb. This is called the cosmic Mother. First, Mātṛ, Deva, Bhava. First is the mother as the universe. Chvaita Vipuṣṣayana, cosmic Vipuṣṣayana. That means Hiraṇyagarbha, golden embryo or golden egg. These golden eggs are cosmic Vipassanā. Have Yogis conveyed this since Satya Yuga, or the Vedas and Upaniṣads, the golden eggs thousands of years old. Just under a month ago, in Christianity, Easter was celebrated with the symbol of an egg. This is exactly and precisely what the Vedas say about this egg. Also space and consciousness. And then there is a third principle, where space and consciousness are held together. The mother’s body and the embryo are held together. It will be preserved and passed on further. Holding together means union or unity. Third, balance, no disturbances. If there is a disturbance, then the mother loses the pregnancy. There must always be balance and unity. And third, harmony. So, balance, harmony, and unity. These are the original three principles. Space, consciousness, and power that holds us together, or consciousness and space together. That which holds everything together is Yoga. That means nothing related to breathing techniques, nothing related to meditation techniques, not even body exercises or anything like that. That came later. And Eko Brahma Dvitīyānasti, one truth, only one Brahman or God or the Highest or Love or Truth, whatever it is called. There is only one. 2. Dualism. What changes and shifts is unreality, and what remains eternal is the truth. And of these three principles, one is what we call the cosmic spirit, the cosmic spirit, the space, consciousness and uniting principles, within this is the spirit. And in this cosmic spirit, from time to time, in ordinary language one can say, a desire, a will arose. Your will is seen, O Lord. Does God have a will? For what purpose? He has everything. But still, there is, and this is called Eko'ham Bahusyāmi, I am one. And now I will realize myself in many. Now I will manifest myself in billions and billions of forms. And so, this very feeling or this will has awakened a wonderful energy, a power, called Nāda. The Vedas say, Nāda Rūpa Parabrahma, the form of the Highest is sound, sound is the world. Śāstra Śūryas are said to be thousands of solar systems away, thousands from the sun, Ananta Brahmāṇḍa, Śāstra Śūryas, endless universes and thousands of solar systems from the Satyuga, or as mentioned also in the Vedas and other scriptures. And now, even in modern science, after great effort, flying back and forth with what? Purī Jī, Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇa, Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇa... This is a consciousness that has manifested itself. Al-Viṣṇu, and he cuts his laces, and water falls from it, and that is the blood. And the earth, seen from above, also appears red. We’ll come back to that next time, okay? And so in this endless universe with sound. For example, in a small pond, the water completely still. And we throw a stone in, and it creates numerous waves, but very nicely round ones. And so, from this sound, A, U, M, Oṃ, individual souls are produced throughout this entire universe. And like all living beings on this Earth, there are 8.4 million different living beings. One of these is the human being. And the human soul is just like the other living beings. Light is life, all living beings, even in plants. Is that plastic or real? It’s real, right? Thank you. Well, there are many temptations, right? Disappointment, right? Well. And it is said that this individual soul wanders through the waves, through the times, through darkness and light, throughout the entire universe, sometimes experiencing beautiful feelings and experiences, and sometimes painful, dreadful ones. And so the soul seeks reunion with its origin once again. And a union with the origin is the solution and goal of yoga practice or various other techniques, with a question mark, or as mentioned, also religions, faith. And the goal of human life is, through the human mind, we should strive to bring our endless journey through the entire universe back into the light and into peace. And so, now each of you can ask yourselves and answer: how old is Yoga? Okay? I do not know how many trillions and trillions of years, but this is the origin of Yoga. And on this planet, the knowledge of yoga was transmitted to humanity by God Śiva. So, the copyright of Yoga belongs to Śiva. And if you want to have rights for copyright, then you must ask Śiva. Where he is, we do not know, where he is currently on vacation. That is how it is. Now we come here, dear brothers and sisters, to our everyday life, and we all know very well what is going on with us. From our life, we see families, parents, children, friends, relatives, colleagues, neighbors, and so on. All living beings carry the same divine light, Ahiṃsā Paramo Dharma, do no harm, do not kill, the highest principles, no matter who, human or animal. Everyone feels pain, and we should cause no one pain. Out of 8.4 million different living beings, we can say it is like a circle. From my side, it goes like this, but from your side, it goes exactly like that, okay? That is why I turned so far to the left. From my side, it would be like this, and then we will always turn the wrong way. Through the human body, we can attain God-realization, self-realization, liberation, cosmic consciousness, and so on—whatever is beautifully written and spoken in various scriptures. And then the first question arises: is this one life enough for us to realize that? Yes and no. Both. Yes, it means we do not know whether our first life was as a human or if there were many before. Yes, it means whether we practice and strive correctly, that in this life we overcome all bad karma or sins and realize only good karmas. No means whether we have forgotten why we have come or been born. In the introduction, I said that Śaṅkarācārya spoke three words, then five words; I must add two more. But the Śaṅkarācārya said, Ko'ham, Kutaḥ Āyātaḥ, Katham Idam Jātaṃ, Ko Vā Karteṣu Vidyate: Who am I, from where have I come, why have I come, what am I doing here, and where will I go? And so, the goal of our life, human life, is not only to have children, eat, drink, and sleep, but we also have higher goals. And there stands life. A life of a second is also a life. A hundred years is also a life. So, life means health, a healthy life. Who is the happiest person in this world, who has no illness, completely healthy? And now, in these modern scientific temptations that have manipulated everything—animals, fruits, trees, vegetables, plants, humans, mixing everything up—do we find anything genuine anywhere? Very difficult, very difficult. And on top of that, lots of poison, pesticides, and so on. It is very difficult to find a person who is completely healthy. And we know, yet we eat. That is the problem. We know, there is much poison inside. But I remember, I believe it has already been two decades, or as I said, two decades. The first time the soya beans were introduced to Europe as genetic engineering. Austria, Germany, and several other countries were very much against it and demonstrated everything. And the first shipment has landed in Switzerland. All our efforts were not in vain. They did not help. In our market, in the food available, there is no prāṇa. And so, today’s young children do not even have as much energy as the elderly who are 80 and 90 years old. And barely 30 years old, they look like exhausted old ones. Yes, sorry to say, children were here, 40 years have passed, I can write, seniors. Health declines, which means the body has now refused and can no longer do anything. Capacity, nothing left. Health is nothing; everything, but everything is nothing without health, a scientist once said. And so, life means health. Lying in a sickbed always means there is no more life. And so the question was: how can I live long, how can I enjoy my life, and whether I can realize my goal in this life—these were the three questions. To enjoy life, to have a long life, and to achieve self-realization. And so they brought the system—yoga and food, life supplements, Āyurveda medicine. And now, we have ingested so many chemicals that even Āyurveda does not work as effectively on our body, just like Yoga. Well, yoga is yoga, there is no second option. But people like me would still like to say something, this is the system of Svāmī Maheśvarānanda, okay? And so Yoga in daily life, thank God, is a beautiful word. In daily life, every day, what should I do every day? Should I sit like this every day and chant Oṃ, Oṃ, 24 hours Oṃ, my parents will say, get up, you lazy one, go and work, I say no, Oṃ, that is not what I meant by yoga in daily life, but rather we live according to Yogic Principles. Eating according to Yoga, speaking according to Yoga, means good, positive, full of love, with understanding, with feelings. There are some people who are in a hurry, and the traffic light is red, and the car in front stops, and behind it someone says, damn it. So one cannot say, oh Lord God, damn it. What comes from our thoughts is only what is already within us. So be careful that every word comes across as positive, beautiful, spiritual, and good. But it is true that one should always try to speak positively. But a time comes, seconds pass, and one says foolish things. Everything is spoiled. Why does this word "blödes" come up? Does he also say "blödes" in Bavaria? I do not know, because we Austrians might say that it is different. But Bavarians and Austrians are neighbors, you see. There must be something between us. And an example, an example about Mahātmā Gandhi. Unfortunately, but it is true. Because he was silent, no word came from his mouth, damn it, or, oh you devil, but rather, He Rām, O God. This is proof that in the mind, in the soul, and in the feelings of a person, everything is positive. So it is. Speaking, living, sleeping, eating, walking, doing, everything, yoga. And that is what yoga means in daily life. Sometimes it is not so easy. A colleague is very disturbing, a colleague is very negative, he scolds and says something, and we might respond with some words in return. No, we are sorry, we are sorry for that person, because that person has so many problems and therefore we should have mercy for that person and not be angry. Gandhijī said, we hate the sin, but not the sinner. And so it is. Karma Yoga, and then they divided and classified yoga into four, five main directions. Haṭha Yoga. Haṭha Yoga has six techniques. Ṣaṭ Karma, like in Āyurveda, there is Pañca Karma. In Yoga Ṣaṭ Karma. One has omitted Āyurveda. And Ṣaṭ Karma is body purification. Those who truly practice Haṭha Yoga every day, I can say, are healthier. But Haṭha Yoga requires discipline and willpower. So, out of a thousand or five thousand people practicing yoga, perhaps one or two practice Haṭha Yoga. Nasal cleansing, drinking water and expelling it again, Nauli, Basti, Kapālabhāti, and Trāṭaka. Neti, Dhauti, Basti, Nauli, Trāṭaka, Kapālabhāti. These are the six Kriyās of Haṭha Yoga. This is Haṭha Yoga. Every day in the morning, before breakfast, with warm water, using the neti pot, nasal cleansing. And it is so beautiful, it helps above all, it frees us from allergies, dust allergies, or various kinds of allergies. Those who practice every day can master themselves or heal from various types of allergies. Secondly, it helps very, very well for our eyes. It often happens that people who need glasses, if they do not practice every day for six to ten months, they didn’t need glasses. But one must practice every day. It only takes three minutes. But dedicating three minutes every day with discipline for oneself is not easy. To drink a coffee somewhere and just hang out, we can do that for an hour, that is easy, but three minutes of how our mind does something, that is difficult, unfortunately. And then drink one or two liters of water and vomit again. The first time I came to Europe, I was in Vienna, and very early in the morning, at 7 o’clock, the workers started, and there was a crane, and the crane kept making noises, a certain sound, exactly like when one drinks water and then spits it out again. And I said, my God, so many Viennese are practicing Haṭha Yoga Kriya. So many are still engaged in the beginnings of Heaven. And then I really opened the window and saw, it was the crane. And so too are Nauli Kriyā and Basti, colon cleansing. For healthy individuals, Śaṅkhaprakṣālana is done four times a year. And for people who have health issues, it would be good to do it every one and a half months. And Trāṭaka, candle meditation, that helps our eyes very, very, very much. And very good for concentration and also very good for meditation, and especially very good for the artists who paint. Part 2: The Paths of Yoga and the Essence of Practice It is like a miracle. A child or young person who still wets the bed at night does the evening practice of Trāṭaka just once, and it is finished forever. This is truly so beautiful and good. But it must be done correctly; otherwise, it will have double the effect in bed. How it works, what kind of connection it has, I have not yet discovered. But it does work—I have already experienced that, not with myself, but with others. Yoga is often misunderstood in the West, and it is given the wrong name. It is a name, called Elfriede, and those named Elfriede are always called Friedrich. Do you understand me? Friedrich is also like a joy, and Elfriede is also a joy, right? So, the poor one, Friedrich, is constantly called Elfriede, and Elfriede is constantly called Friedrich. That’s how it is. So, Haṭha Yoga is quite different from what is practiced here. Haṭha Yoga is the very first Yoga, and it is for health: Neti, Dhauti, Basti, Nauli, Trāṭaka, and Kapālabhāti. Now, all yoga teachers around the world immediately know which system they come from. You know these techniques, and it would be good if you would kindly ask your yoga teachers to practice Haṭha Yoga Kriyās. Our Yoga in Daily Life teachers are very well trained, and we have conducted this technique everywhere, including in Munich. You have yoga teachers here. When yoga teachers begin to gain weight, it means something I do not wish to say. It was the same with me. The next path of yoga is Karma Yoga. Helping. Helping hands have more value than folded hands. Helping hands are worth more than just the question, "Sorry, I cannot." What am I supposed to do with your sorry? Not even a salad. Help, help, help. And so, for example, a humanitarian project and a veterinary project came about throughout the whole world. Help needs no arguments. Help needs no conditions. There is no argument. Whether a human, an animal, or a plant. It simply needs help. I do not need to say, "If you love me, then I will help you." No, there are no conditions for that. Karma Yoga, Karma Śukoṣalam. Your yoga life becomes successful through your Karma Yoga. And whoever strays from the path of Karma Yoga and runs away, suffers. Help means many things, not just with hands alone. Through your words, through your behavior, through your money, through your strength and much more, through your writing, and so on. The journalists have a golden opportunity in their lives to write something beautiful that will help millions of people. Media has a great, great opportunity. The media people can attain God-realization through this media work if they are able to present it beautifully and positively. But a journalist said, "No, we are looking for a scandal." Then everything is there. We do not want that. Okay, Karma Yoga. Two types of Karma Yoga. Not shame karma, shame karma—selfless service and selfishness. Of course, we also need it for ourselves. We need money, we need everything we have in life, and for our children or friends. And for that, we must work. But at the same time, we must do something for others. And that is called the two hands washing each other together. The third path of yoga is called Bhakti Yoga. And Karma Yoga—one cannot practice anything without Bhakti Yoga. Love, prayer, faith, compassion, understanding—this is Bhakti Yoga. Forgiveness, understanding, tolerance, respect, God, praying, meditating, practicing mantra, bhakti. Kali Yuga Kevalam Nāmādhāra. This Kali Yuga has a supreme, easier path, and that is devotion, Bhakti Yoga, the Name of God. But we humans have once again misunderstood God’s Name and have begun to fight, so-called, for our religion. That is a wrong word. "Our religion." What does "ours" mean? Who are you and who are they? It is only one religion, and it is for people. And humanity and only one God. When all religions have tolerance and agreement and harmonize together, I can tell you, world peace is already here. We do not need an army or weapons and all that. But every religion counts how many goats and sheep are in my yard. I constantly have the goat herder’s staff in my hand. This is it. Okay. The fourth is called Rāja Yoga, Self-Discipline. And it is called Aṣṭāṅga Yoga. Eight types of techniques to practice: Yama, Niyama, āsanas (body exercises), prāṇāyāma (breathing exercises), dhāraṇā (concentration), dhyāna (meditation), samādhi (highest consciousness). Where? Knowledge, knower, and object. All three unite into one. Knowledge, knower, and object. The three become one; this is called Samādhi. I am the knower; what do I want to know? Who God is—that is the object. God, my knowledge and experience of Him, and I—all three of us become one. Either God is there or I am there, it is said. The street of love is so narrow, the street of love is so narrow that two cannot walk side by side. Two cannot go together. The two must unite into one. Then they can proceed. So, Yama and Niyama. Patañjali, who lived around 1500 BCE, spoke of these five different paths of Yoga: Haṭha Yoga, Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Jñāna Yoga, and Rāja Yoga. And Rāja Yoga, Jñāna Yoga is one of—sorry—Rāja Yoga, Self-Discipline, the path of kings. And who is the king? Your Self. You are the king of your land. You are the king of your state. You are the king of your world. And which one? Your body. O my Self, you are the king of your mind, your senses and your emotions, your body. Do not be a slave to these. Be the master, the king of them. And so Rāja Yoga. Yama and Niyama—these are the rules, which were then written into the testament, the Ten Commandments. Do not steal, do not accumulate, do not lie, do not kill, Ahiṃsā. They are from Patañjali, Yama and Niyama. Then came the fifth, Jñāna Yoga, the Yoga of Knowledge. What, who am I? And Jñāna Yoga also has four paths, principles to master: Viveka, Virāgya, Ṣaṭsampatti, and Mumukṣutva. Viveka then means proper discernment, sub-discernment. What is the truth? Vairāgya means non-attachment, no clinging. Not to just one person, but to this entire world. My house, my money, my car. There are some people who have a car for two or three years and then sell the cars—they begin to cry. "My car, it was so beautiful, is always with me now and then." Yes, truly. Attachment. We have, we are present. We love each other. We help each other. We understand each other. Naturally, we are a little sad. But not so sorrowful that we are ready to die. And then, there are six treasures within us. Threefold, six threefolds in our body: Śama, Dama, Uparati, Titikṣā, Śraddhā, Samādhāna. Śama means withdrawing our feelings and sense organs from the external world. From being extroverted to becoming introverted. You can sit and meditate at any time. Just like a sea turtle, which at any time, whenever it wishes, can extend a part of its body from its pañca or can withdraw it back at any time. And so the yogi can extrovert at any time or immediately introvert again. It means you are the master of yourself. Dama means then observe your feelings and keep them under your control just as you hold a horse with the reins. Do not let go, that is how it is. Śama, Dama, Śraddhā—trust. Who has lost trust has lost everything. A doubt is a crack in this wall. We can repair, but not like the original. Rahiman said: "Rahiman dhāgā prem kā, mat toḍo chatkāy. Jyoṅ toḍe sī to phir, jyoṅ na jyoṅ milāy." A poet said, his name was Rahim Dās: "The cord of love is so delicate, do not try to break it; it is very fragile. Be careful, pay attention. Rahimana dhāgā prem kā mat toḍo chatkāy." Do not break anything. Everything is like a thread; once it is broken, you cannot tie it again. "Jyoṅ toḍe sī to phir, jyoṅ na jyoṅ milāy." If you try to bind again, there will be a knot in between. And so love, trust, Śraddhā, exists between parents, children, friends, relatives, the world, the environment, master, disciple, God, and so on. Faith, trust, God, you can take everything away from me, but not even one thing, my trust in you, my devotion. Doubt is like a drop of lemon in a field of milk, and immediately the milk will curdle. Śama, Dama, Śraddhā, Titikṣā—steadfastness, a power to endure, enduring the situation. To endure the situation—cold, heat, hunger, thirst, pain, pleasure, and so forth—is Titikṣā. Śama, Dama, Śraddhā, Titikṣā, Uparati—one stands above all things. We have, yet we suffer nothing when we lose. So what? Now it has been a year, this is what they call the financial crisis in the world. And when does one say, the Yogi says, "It is nothing at all. Nothing at all." Money has not flown away somewhere into the sky. Money has not flown away somewhere in the flow of water. It has flowed. The money is there. There are only a handful of people causing this situation, and all are suffering. We must have it here, not in the hand. Anyone can take the way from the hand, but what we have here in our kismat, no one can take away. But there are those people who tremble day and night. "I had 5 billion euros, and now only 1.5 billion remains." So, what now? When you take your last breath, then not just 5 billion, you will lose everything. Doesn’t even this body go with you? But this happened because people are too dependent and have no trust. Yes, it is quite simple. Germany has enough papers; the government says, "Just print the euros again." Yes, the government should, every country should print a few trillion or quadrillion more notes and say, "Hey boys and girls, take it here, have it and enjoy." So you either lose it or use it. But how one torments the other person. The government has the power to further suppress strength, freedom, and money. No, to say it is so easy—that is not true. Why not? I can go to the printing press and work there if they have no time to work. But if they print the money for the German government, they can employ me there—I will clean the machines. So, Samādhāna, Śraddhā, Uparati, Titikṣā, Mumukṣutva—rise above things, contemplate samādhi, and try to understand what is the meaning or goal of life. And the fourth, Mumukṣutva, constantly seeking and praying for liberation, so that my mind can unite with the divine mind. This is called Rāja Yoga and Jñāna Yoga. So, five paths of Yoga: Haṭha Yoga, Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Rāja Yoga, and Jñāna Yoga. Now, within the five different yogas, there are also individual, yet very important paths. Like a tree, a pile has five branches, and now some beautiful little ones are sprouting, which are very significant: Mantra Yoga, Kriyā Yoga, Saj Yoga, Nāda Yoga, Kuṇḍalinī Yoga, Yoga in Daily Life, and so much Yoga is present. And it also has a meaning. Very important. Very, very important. And so, Yoga in Daily Life means bringing everything together, taking what is important, and passing it on. And now, physical exercises. When I see publications, yoga books, yoga brochures, there are such beautiful exercises, my God. One stands on the hands like this, and the whole legs, feet here. What practice is this? Can anyone say? Yoga teachers? Are there any yoga teachers here, male or female? Hmm, going through tests once again. This practice is called Scorpio. Okay, Vṛkṣāsana. Vṛkṣāsana, ah, Vṛkṣāsana, Scorpio. But when? I am a beginner and I am looking for a yoga class, and I receive a torture in my hand, and I see the hands like this and the whole head and feet here. I will say, "My wife, well, you can have me if you like, but I am not going to yoga." Right? And these are the four people who are young and so flexible. A young sapling can be gently turned this way and that. But people like us sit here, old, almost decaying tree bones. And shall we do that? We can definitely do it twice. First time and last time. Then we must have a phone number for rescue. This is not yoga. It may be that the various yoga teachers from different yoga schools and so on, please do not frighten the new people with such positions. When I came to Austria, people said, "Yoga, do I have to stand on my head?" There I said, "No, standing on the legs." "Do I have to sit in Lotus?" Did I say, "No, sit in the chair." So, people, it takes its toll. It is not necessary that I do this Scorpio exercise and place both my feet on my head. My God, I do not want anyone to place their feet on my head. Not even my own. And when a spine breaks, life is gone. And so, in yoga there is no competition and no talents. One can, another cannot. It need not be so. But all of us yoga teachers create beautiful books and take pictures; we just sit like this and quickly tell the cameraman. And the cameraman clicks and says, "Oh God." And so all the images have been made for many, many books. Therefore, Yoga in Daily Life. We have developed this system, and it is successfully practiced in over 35,000 different places around the world, including schools, hospitals, and so on. And so, please be careful with physical exercises. If I can achieve the same effect with a small movement, as is shown by the other exercise, which is very difficult. And therefore, in the beginning, one thinks that Yoga in Daily Life, the exercises are so simple, but one should lift up and down like this, again like this, and back, like that. And the man comes home and the woman asks, "Now Freddy, how was it, where were you standing, head or legs or shoulder?" I say, "Well, that was nothing at all," he said, "do it this way and that way. I would have done that at home too, if you ask me whether I want to or not, then I say, well." But it is not just like that. Now let us get a bit serious, okay. One person has injured their shoulder and has undergone surgery. And now the physiotherapist says, "Please lift your shoulder a little." For this person, raising the shoulder means taking all their strength and perhaps lifting it a few centimeters. And again like this. So don’t say it is nothing; it is something, much more than you think. And so, please everyone sit up straight and we will do a rehearsal. Focus on one shoulder and observe with open eyes, observe the entire shoulder, the shoulder blade, the muscles, the muscles beneath the shoulder blades, and everything connected to our shoulder, even the side muscles. Slowly lift your shoulders and observe how many muscles are engaged. Lift, Kriyānanda, sit up straight, and lean back. The rectus and all the muscles parallel to the spine move when we go up and down. And if we practice these lighter exercises for a month, now we will do that. Inhale, elbows back, lift up, and exhale. Write a zero with your elbow. Very good. Other direction. We have been practicing and developing these exercises in daily yoga life for 40 years now. And now, almost every airline has these exercises, but of course, they don’t call it Yoga in Daily Life. It doesn’t matter; for me it’s not about the names, but primarily that people benefit. Now please stand up, and if it is easier, then take off your shoes and slowly stretch your hands up over your head as you inhale. Stretch up very high and bring your hands together a little. So, exhale, to the side, hands underneath. But you can also turn this side to the left and you can turn to the right, okay? So the neighbor is not offended. Once again, hands up in front, slowly inhale, bring the hands together to stretch the side muscles and the sides below, exhale. While inhaling, raise your hands, one, slowly, some hands go too high, especially the Austrians, two. The Austrians always raise their hands quickly. This is no joke, please. Once again. One. And just stretch, do it slowly. And lift sideways. And fold the hand spots together. And open the palms and bring the hands forward. And to the sides. One. Slowly. Two. Forward. Hands offering. One. Two. And now interlace your fingers, palms facing down, and slowly inhale as you stretch your hands up, over your head, and stand on your tiptoes. Stretch out fully and slowly lower your hands onto your head, then bring your feet back down. Inhale, one, two, one. Harit, you are always too fast. The Austrians are always too fast. One, two. Now spread your legs a little apart. Raise your hands. Please do not lift your feet or your heels. Now inhale deeply. Exhale to the left. Bend to the left. And inhale back to the center. Exhale to the right and inhale to the center. Exhale to the left and exhale to the right. Inhale into the center. And slowly lower the hands onto the head. Palm facing upward. And now, hands behind the head and bend to the left, exhale, inhale to the center, exhale to the right, exhale to the left, inhale to the center, exhale to the left and bring the hands back, to the sides, legs together, step towards me, and with one hand or both hands simply to lean on the chairs, the chairs are in front of you. Close your eyes and relax with a deep inhalation. Breathe in slowly and breathe out slowly. Inhale, exhale, inhale, and very good. Please sit down. Sit comfortably, close your eyes, and simply relax. And please open one or two windows, if possible. Please close your eyes and relax. Relax your entire bodies. Relax. Take a deep breath in and out. Breathe and relax, I tell you in spirit, I want to relax, no ideas, no concentration, no imaginations, no expectations, just be aware of your existence, physically and mentally, and tell yourself, relax, shoulders, elbows, hands, back muscles, abdominal muscles, relaxing the body and also the breath process, consciously relaxing into relaxation, relaxing the body. Now, now,... And fold the palms together and rub them, then place the palms on the face, warming or rubbing the face muscles a little, and open the eyes.
