Trust your Gurudev

The moon's influence is significant until Guru Pūrṇimā, a time connected to Śiva's energy. The moon affects the earth and oceans, creating tides. Yet, greater than any planetary influence is the protection of the Guru's grace. This grace acts as an ultimate safeguard for the seeker. Belief in astrological fears creates psychological weakness. Liberation comes from one's own practice and devotion, not from external rituals or predictions. The physical body will age and perish, but through sincere sādhanā and Guru's blessing, one realizes the immortal self.

"Even death, Kāla, will not face you. It will run away from you. That is the way you can trust and believe in the Gurudev."

"Without your sādhanā, without your practice, you cannot be liberated."

Jai Rām, Jai Jai Rām, Śrī Rām Jai Rām, Jai Jai Rām, Śrī Rām Jai Rām, Jai Jai Rām, Śrī Rām Jai Rām, Jai Jai Rām, Śrī Rām Jai Rām, Jai Jai Rām, Śrī Rām Jai Rām, Jai Jai Rām, Śrī Rām Jai. Until Guru Pūrṇimā, there is a great influence. The moon has a very significant influence on our earth. Guru Pūrṇimā is the first Pūrṇimā to this Pūrṇimā and the next Pūrṇimā to this Pūrṇimā. This influence is in effect until Guru Pūrṇimā. That is why the month of Śrāvaṇa is the month of Bhagavān Śiva. In the month of Śrāvaṇa, when you go to the temple to see Lord Śiva, go and offer water, or go and chant "Oṁ Namaḥ Śivāya" five times, and you will be blessed. But the one who is attached to Śiva knows that Śiva says, "I do good for everyone. Whether you go there or not, the light of the sun will remain in place, the light of the moon will remain in place." Śiva is bliss. Śiva says, "I am the beginning, I am the creation, I am the light, I am Viṣṇu, I am the salvation, and I am not a God, I am the God of the Gods." Bhagavān Śiva says that, similarly, the influence of the moon on our earth is very important. The moon, which waxes and wanes, has a special effect on the earth. Recently, scientists declared the influence of the moon on the earth: that the moon is like a needle balancing the earth. Otherwise, the earth would turn upside down and be destroyed. Consider an aeroplane. A big aeroplane has large wings, but on the top, it is small like a fish and has a little tail. An aeroplane can go at a speed of 1,000 km per hour, though it generally goes at 980 kmph. I have flown over the three big oceans: the Atlantic Ocean, the Pacific Ocean, and the biggest, the Indian Ocean. I have crossed it many times, 45 times. It took 11 hours, 13 hours, 12 hours, and 35 minutes to fly. The aircraft's speed was sometimes more than 1,000 km, 1,020 km, or 980 km per hour. We sit on it and do not feel it because our blood and moving body match that speed. If it stopped suddenly, everything would be over in an instant, like a mosquito bite. But God does not allow that. Aircraft have radar; if another aircraft approaches from 300 km away, they automatically adjust their paths to avoid collision. Even if one comes from the side, one goes up and the other down, at a distance of 10 to 20 kilometers. Second, sometimes there is turbulence in the air. It feels like a truck in Rajasthan running on a broken road, jumping over damage like a speed breaker. Sometimes, I would say to Mahāprabhujī, Abhidham Mahāprabhujī, Devpurījī Bābājī, "You be here." People would hold onto their chairs. I would say, "Hold the chair, don't let go. If you fall, everything will be lost." There is a seatbelt, but the pilot knows 100 kilometers before that there are holes in the air. When the wind blows, it doesn't come back; it comes from the top or the bottom, making a sound. At that time, all the pilots sit with their belts tied and make an announcement. The glass of water we were drinking goes down. No one can get up. One must sit down, but the speed remains the same, 1000 kmph. Sometimes it is said, "Don't give me so much water; the whole night I will run like an aeroplane." What I mean to say is, what kind of instruments has the human brain made? Even then, there is a lot of life here. I say, Babājī, one ocean is at least 20 km deep, perhaps more. He says, "Babājī, it will take eight hours. No one will be able to get out." Some vessels go inside and are not found. But more people die on the road than in an airplane. As many people die on the ground road, and in little accidents at home and in the bathroom. You apply marble. So Satish said to Yogesh, "You apply marble well." First, his leg was broken. He is applying it to break everyone's leg. I told Yogesh, "Please don't put this, but what can I do?" That is why Satish got his first education. So, how many accidents do we have on the ground? That many do not occur in the air. Yes or no? How many people die from their own mistakes on scooters, cycles, cars? That many do not die from a snake bite. Thoḍī sī galtī se. Okay, let's go. It was a different subject today to tell about the moon. Let's go ahead. I was talking about the three oceans: the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Ocean. The Indian Ocean touches the Atlantic and the Pacific, and it goes all the way to Australia, Western Australia, when you come to... where, where... Perth. When I come to Perth, I see the Indian Ocean. My hotel is there. From the shore of the sea, I go to Bhaktisāgar. I first go there and pay my respects to the Indian Ocean. It is big, my God. The beach is very big, a white sand beach. But you cannot go swimming 20 meters out. You never know how big a white shark might come. Go to sleep, son. Did you eat sweets? You didn't eat? Then go. We will send more in the morning. Didn't you say the mantra? Didn't you join your hands in prayer? Didn't you do pradhān? Guru Devo Maheśvara, Guru Śākṣāt Parabrahma, Tasmai Śrī Gurave Namaḥ. Dhyānamūlaṁ Guru Mūrtiḥ, Pūjāmūlaṁ Guru Padam, Mantramūlaṁ Guru Vākyaṁ, Mokṣamūlaṁ Guru Kṛpā. Oṁ Śāntiḥ, Śāntiḥ,... Śubha Rātri, Jyāvata. So, Guru Pūrṇimā and the moon. The moon has one of the strongest influences on our planet, not only for humans but for trees, animals, and even the ocean. On the dark moon night, the whole ocean, mostly the bottom, is very peaceful. The waves on the ocean are only on the surface. The bottom is peaceful, but it is the moon which can move the ocean. Mostly on the full moon day, there are high waves. It changes as the moon changes. We call this the ocean inhaling. The ocean inhales once every 24 hours. On Guru Pūrṇimā, especially in this constellation where Śiva is—Śiva Śakti—Śiva Śakti means the energy, the strength, the manifestation, the light of the Śiva principle. It is not like a body; you can't see it. But it has an effect and influence on humans throughout the universe. Now, the planets. According to astrology, there are eight planets. India is not Earth. Earth is not a planet. We call it the living planet, the blue planet. But we don't call it a planet because Earth is much bigger than any other planet. So it has to be called the earth, the mother. On the earth, there is a manifestation of creatures. It doesn't matter how many scientists search other planets for life like this living planet, with vegetation, humans, or some kind of creatures—maybe not exactly human, maybe they eat each other—but not like that. Pañca Dhātu, Pañca Bhūta, Pañca Tattva: space, earth, water, fire, and air. All this together is manifesting here through that Śiva's power, Śakti, light on this earth. From these five tattvas, there is a guru tattva. The highest is the guru tattva. This does not mean that guru like we all; you may believe you think you are a guru, but no. There are gurus, but mostly kangaroos, but they are still living. They don't move; they don't go. But their radiance, their blessings, their light is everywhere. Humans have blind belief and fear. Humans have more fear than any animal. Once, Bhairavaḍī Gurujī was a very good astrologer. My family, all of us, we are astrologers. We are psychologically infected by this. When Gurujī was speaking about astrology, Guru Mahāprabhujī said it is okay to know if today is this day or that day, or the moon is half, or that counting. But that kind of belief in astrology—that you have this constellation and that constellation—is not proven. Therefore, Mahāprabhujī said... Because Gurujī was sitting and often asking Mahāprabhujī, saying, "Okay, now make Vṛk, Mithun, Kark, Siṁh, Kanyā, Tulā, Vṛścik, Dhanu, Makar, everything." So Gurujī said, "Yes, you can give a name to every finger." Like you are giving the moon, Jupiter, etc., this and that, but why not? They are stones, hanging in that gravity, hanging here and there, and they have to move, otherwise they will sink. So Gurujī said, "Bana baḍā gurudev kā"—the highest, the greatest power, the protection, is what we call the bulletproof jacket. And that bulletproof jacket is Guru Kṛpā, protection, Gurudev kī, Gurudev kī rakṣā. Rakṣā, jacket, kvaj. Rakṣā, kvaj. So, bana baḍā Gurudev kā: when you have surrendered and received a blessing from the Gurudev, that blessing means Gurudev has sealed your whole five bodies, five tattvas—physical, mental, intellectual, emotional—all five. These bodies are sealed, untouchable by any weapon. Neither fire can burn, nor any weapons can kill. You are that Amarā Ātmā. Chidānandave vahiyātmāsa. Chidānandave śivo’ham, śivo’ham, śivo’ham. Jise śastra kāṭe na agni jalāve, jise śastra kāṭe na agni bujhāve, na pānī na mṛtyu mita. Bujhave na pānī na mṛtyu mita vahiyātmāsa cidānandam evamara-ātmāsa cidānandam evoham. So, when you get initiation with that kind of devotion, confidence, certainty, real belief, and no doubts... If there are doubts, then your bullet jacket is very fragile. From that kind of blind belief, black belief, anyone can influence you: "You have this constellation, now that constellation. You are in that house. You have to do this. You are born like this. Your son is that way, your mother is that." This psychologically creates fear. So Gurujī was always saying, now we are also saying: viśvagraha se jānā hai, śubha yogadhya, niṣaṅga yogadhya, sabha yogadhya, you know, 12 hours days, 12 hours nights. One day Gurujī said to Mahāprabhujī, "Now I have to go, because this is a..." Mahāprabhujī said, "Sit down." So Holī Gurujī said, "But a train will come at this time and go." Mahāprabhujī said, "I tell you, sit down. Okay." Mahāprabhujī said, "Does a train every day look into the Jyotiṣ? By the time I should go, then the whole of India, not only that, but the whole world will be completely confused." That's why the Indian is going late. But the train is going. The train doesn't remain. Even the train does not stop at the railway crossing. So Mahāprabhujī said, "You are Amarātmā." Everyone is Amarātmā. Where to? And then Gurujī was talking, and Amāprabhujī... Gurujī was sitting. Inwardly, Gurujī said, "I can go tomorrow. Now I will not go." But after that, when it was Mahāprabhujī, he said, "Now you can go to your train." So Mahāprabhujī, what do you think? From the Dhuna, from Kacharaj to the Chhote Khattu was the railway station. Now there are rickshaws and everything. That day, the train was seven hours late. Gurujī told him, "Now you can go." Five minutes before he came, the train was there and gone. From that day, Gurujī said, "Yes, the Guru Vakya, that is a reality, but not these constellations you are looking for." Then Mahāprabhujī said, "The protection, the blessings of the Gurudev, that is the greatest, the highest. Listen, O Mādhavānandjī. Graha, the constellations, the graha, Jupiters, and what they call Rāhu and Ketu, and this, whatnot. Vāṇā vada gurudev kā, śrīlo mādhvānanda, graha, gosara, graha, and all the other constellations are just nothing for you. Graha gosara vyāpe nai mīte kāl kā phand. Even death, Kāla, will not face you. It will run away from you. That is the way you can trust and believe in the Gurudev." These are the two poems which Mahāprabhujī spoke from his own tongue. That one, yantra: you know, we are making these yantras and this hocus-pocus with one line like this and like that. Yes, yantra, mantra, those kinds of mantras, now you have to have Śani, Śani... You can say that cobra is going, "Śani, Śani." So this small, small planet, not on the surface, will not attack you. If you have bad karmas, if you have fear inside, so much fear comes. With this fear, some people give this to those who are afraid. People put a stone... Pouring oil on a person, it is better to give it to a poor person so he can cook well. Ramdev ji once said there is a hole in the ground. If there is a hole in the ground, the oil should be poured. But there is a hold for humans to feel something. Someone said this is psychology. So, vāna vāda gurudev kā suno madhvānand, graha gosra vyāpāya nahīṃ mīṭe kāla kā phāṇṭa. Jantra mantra, jādu ṭonā, jādu, you know jādu? Hand, what you call the hand? Magic. Jāḍū ṭonā, and also gives you something to tie on your hand, tie on your fingers, something put on your hand, house there. This is psychologically, psychologically, usse jyādā se jyādā fear hogā, itnā din. After that, Gurujī said. Gurujī made one very nice poem, and that Gurujī said: "Kheti, prīti, prathānā. If you want to have good crops, then you should personally look after your farm. Personally, look how your grains, corns, vegetables, fruit gardens, etc., are. Like our Pushpa, you don't know how hard she is really working and how beautiful the garden is. You like Shanti, yes, I know you like Swamiji very much. I said, 'How great the garden work is, yes, yes, that's it.' Everybody looks at it, and it is good and useful. Otherwise, we were giving thousands of liters of water only for the grass and then cutting it, and it looks a little better for the eyes as a nice meadow. But now it is something useful: different kinds of flowers, plants, vegetables, fruits, etc., colorful. So, khetī, doing your crops. Kheti Prithi. Prithī means love. Prithi means marriage. So, one man was in America, a young man. He wanted to marry in India, and the aeroplane was not there. It comes once a week by flight. But the marriage constellation was five days before. He can't come, so Panditji said, "Don't worry. Some other man can sit and hold hands and make the wedding after. He will come and take her home." So it's not like, go and eat your food and go home. But if I come and take it home, I won't go home. So, without yourself, what do you call someone else there? What do you call them, chawrī? Chawrī? Sāth pherā. Saat phera. Your husband will go with you, right? No one else will go. If someone dies, then everyone goes to the crematorium, but you don't have to go with him. So kheti prīti: if you want to love, then you have to do that personally. Don't borrow your wife. Here is khetī, prīti, prathānā. Don't say, "Gurujī, please pray for me," or "Panditjī, please pray for me." Panditjī says, "I will do your Gragh Ghosar. Give me this much money. I will do this much mantra. I will do this much for you. I will do this much for the other one." If we do this much, then sometimes the poor Paṇḍitjī gets so much Gragh Ghosar on him, but it is psychological. It has some psychological effect, but it doesn't go away. Khetī, Prītī, Prārthanā. So if you want to achieve your spiritual power, if you want to reach your spiritualities, everything, then you have to do your service. You should pray. Of course, we are asking Gurujī, "Please, Gurujī, bless me. Please pray for me." That means, give the blessings. So yes, definitely it will be, but there are millions. Do you think that whole night I am thinking about this one, and then this one, and then this one? My God, I will be torn into millions of cells of my body. But when the message comes, you are in that aura, in that light. It means, think on Gurudev, think on your mantra. That is a prayer. Kheti, priti, prathana, poot, trai, khujaal. When itching on your back, then you ask somebody, "Please, can you scratch a little bit here, a little up, a little to the left side, a little down." So you can tell left, right, up, down, but still you say, "No, okay, something there." But your own hand will immediately go there, or here, or where it is. That's it. O human, O people, O animals, if you want to have happiness, joy, fulfillment, then do it yourself. Don't leave it for others. Don't depend on your servant or your workers. If you leave it to someone, one hundred thousand percent sure, it will not be as you want. How you want it will not be how, time, where you... We can achieve, therefore, do it yourself. What? Do it yourself. Don't depend on anyone, similarly so. Therefore, don't depend on this totkā. We call it totkā. Totkā means just hocus-pocus. Okay? Sometimes children in Austria have a very nice mantra for when they have big pain. They say, "Mother, mother, I feel this fear." Then they have very nice mantras. Can you tell us something? Mantra? No, no,... no,... no. But reality is different. Therefore, when you trust, when you believe in Guru, Kripa, Mahāprabhujī’s, Devapurījī’s, Alagpurījī’s, Gurujī’s, mine, it doesn't matter. You don't worry. Perhaps after, but then you don't need to search for any kind of astrological fear. If someone is doing it for business, okay. But it is said, one itself is suffering. One self is suffering. So there is one story Gurujī used to tell. One man came to read the holy book, Kathā. The king said, "What will happen when you read the holy book for nine days?" He said, "Āpkā mokṣa ho jāyegā"—you will be liberated. The king said, "Very good. In nine days I will be liberated." So Paṇḍājī was reading the holy book. After nine days, Paṇḍājī came and said, "King, my kathā is finished, and I am going. If you want to give any..." Lakshmi, my kingdom, I don't want someone to do this hocus-pocus. What? Kyā? Kyā yeh bāt hai? So Mahārājī, the sādhu, the Gurujī said, "Do you want the answer practical or theoretical?" "Practical." "Then, King, please don't be angry. Bring two ropes, and I will tie you to this pillar, and I will tie the Paṇḍit to that pillar." The king said to Gurudev, "Whatever you want, if my doubts and my suffering, and this Paṇḍit is liberated." So Gurujī ordered the soldiers, the bodyguards of the king, to tie him to the pillar and call the Paṇḍitjī and also tie him to the other pillar. The king said, "Gurujī said, 'King, you are the king, you are mighty, you are strong.' Please, can you untie that king or the Paṇḍitjī? Can you free him? Please go." The king said, "I myself am bound. How can I liberate others? First, someone should liberate me. Okay. Paṇḍitjī, you have a Katha whole life. You had all your power and your holy books. Please, can you free the king?" He said, "Gurujī, my self is in bondage." Gurujī said to the guards, "Please liberate both of them." Similarly, Mahātma Gurujī said to the king, "King, without your sādhanā, without your practice, you cannot be liberated. You need Guru Kṛpāhi, Kevalavu, blessing. But this is his profession; this Paṇḍit is doing his kathā, right? It is better than stealing or something. So give him something and let him go." Panditjī said, "Gurudev, my whole life I will be thankful to you." Gurujī said, "Not whole life, all the lives. I liberate you, and you will liberate." So there are certain things we call blind belief. But at the same time, these have spiritual injections, psychological injections, that people hold themselves, thinking now they have no problems, or something like that. But only thy prayer, thy mantra, and the bhakti, guru bhakti, will lead us and liberate us. Otherwise, you can do many āsanas, you can do many prāṇāyāms, you can do many kuṇḍalinīs; nothing is there. All kuṇḍalinīs, kuṇḍ, puṇḍ, are finished. But if you have sādhanā, and Gurudev tells you how to do the sādhanās, then something develops in the brain. Everything is, all the centers are in the brain. But if you do wrong, and you feel some kind of vibration and shaking of your body, then you must go to the hospital as soon as possible so the doctor can give you something to calm down and give you some therapy, what we call the psychic; a psychologist should come to you. Therefore, Namah Śivāya, Om Namah Śivāya, Om... Namah Śivāya. Śaṅkar Bhagavān kī, therefore āyā so to jāyegā, rājā raṅkā fakīr. Who came will go, whether a king, a fakīr, or a poor person. Banā so to bikḥregā hī. What is made, constructed, one day will be destroyed—maybe 20,000 years, maybe 100,000 years, or maybe a few centuries, ages. But finally, there is limitation. That's it. So we shall be sure. We will be ill. We will have pain in the body. Like in a car, you have new tires, but after a few years or some months, the tires will get old. Any engines, any technology, the mechanical parts will become old. Similarly, our body, our knees will be painful. This small child can jump from here to there, and we also used to jump from here to there, but now you can jump also, but twice only. You can jump from here when we were small. Children, we used to jump and climb back up. Even now we can jump from here, not once, but twice. And that is the first time now and the last time. That is why our knees, our muscles, the knees in our body, the heart—they will go one day. It will go one day. How long will you keep your body? But if you can live and eat well, you will live peacefully for some years. But one day you have to go. You have to give back to Bhagavān. Vāpas denā padegā. That much. All the best. And next will be tomorrow. If we have a webcast, Deep Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān Dev Puruṣa Mahādeva. Satguru Swāmī Madhavānandajī.
