Keep your energies pure

This seminar is for purifying energy and retreating the body. Modern life fills us with stress and impure energies from electronics, pollution, and others. We must cleanse these through our practice. Maintain physical space from others to avoid exchanging foreign energies. Use natural materials like kuśa grass or pure cotton on your yoga mat; plastic mats block and distort energy. Wear full, cotton clothing during practice to protect your energy field. Do not force the body; adapt yoga for all ages. Practice prāṇāyāma to clear pollutants. This purification is essential for spiritual progress and overcoming obstacles.

The seminar has begun. Some countries call it a "retreat," but we are only treating, not retreating. We are in a seminar, all together, coming from the saṅgha, which means unity. This seminar, in the context of our yoga and daily life, is held in this place where we have been for the last 25, 26 years. Many practitioners are waiting and looking forward to it. There are different rules, situations, or principles at a seminar, at home, and at the office. In this civilization, we have to play different roles. When you leave your house, you dress differently. In the company, factory, or office, you behave differently. At home, it is different. And in a spiritual seminar, it is different. The two occasions of being at work and at home always involve stress. Different situations bring different energies into our body and psychic stress. But here, in our spiritual yoga and life seminar, we are purifying all negative energies, negative thoughts, and the negative environment. Last week—I think it was this week; I came here on Saturday, and today is one week, Sunday, Monday—I spoke about purifying your energy. How much energy do you have in your body, positive or negative? Pure or impure? Nowadays, in this civilization and way of living, we have more impure thoughts, behaviors, touch, etc. Therefore, in the seminar where we are, we shall try to avoid body touch. If it is possible to have space, you should be at least half a meter away. Better to have one meter. It would be advisable to have two meters. The energy is very strong, not only in humans but in nature. This energy can push you away. You sit here in this beautiful park with very nice weather and nice trees, but the trees are also not very humble. You see one tree; the other tree has pushed this tree back. This tree is feeling lonely, going down, and that other tree is pushing it away. That happens sometimes when your colleague, someone, doesn't like you in the office and tries to push you. But if you, from time to time, come to our Yoga and Daily Life seminar, the retreat, you purify the energies and gain strength so that you have positive energy. You can digest others' negative energy. How? If we enter a dark room at night and turn on the light, within no time we do not know in which direction the darkness went. So the energy we are recharging in our seminars definitely gives you positive energy and strength. Darkness cannot come towards light. But if this light is out, then darkness is celebrating a golden jubilee or something more. So, in this anuṣṭhāna, what we are doing, kriyānuṣṭhāna, in your hall, whatever space you have, at least try to have no body-to-body touch. We have many foreign energies in our body, and we do not know from whom we got them—many, many, many. To purify is very different. For example, if electric wires touch—if there is a naked wire and it touches your body—this energy goes so quickly into your body, and we have no resistance. We will die very quickly; all the instruments in the brain will be out of order, etc. In the Guru Gītā, when you listen to it, there is a mention of kuśāsana. Kuśa is a particular grass which does not rot, and its duration is longer. So, if there is an electric current under the ground and you put your kuśa grass āsana and sit on it, you will not get any shock. Nowadays, we no longer speak of electric waves, lights, current. Now we call it smoke. There is a difference between one camel and the smoke. That smoke is so much electronic smoke. Nowadays, we have more telephones, and you know how many billions of people use their telephone every day. There are different instruments. This smoke is going through our body, through our breath, and penetrating the body. Waves do not go up and avoid our body to go a different way, no. That is why many people now have many, many health problems and psychic problems. What we can do is that we should come, from time to time, to our seminars, even for one weekend or one day, and we clean again the effect of all this pollution: sound pollution, physical pollution, the sound, and this electronic pollution. You feel different after this seminar; you feel relaxed. If you go somewhere on holiday and have a peaceful time, relax, and are not with too many people, that also makes a difference. So, try to have kuśa grass. If not, you can have a pure cotton cloth. Plastic is resistant to electric shock, but it itself creates a lot of electronic waves from the plastic itself. It is comfortable, smooth, soft; you feel better when you do the āsanas. You feel better on your knees when you stand up for Marjari. So it is comfortable, but it uses more energy with the smoke of the electronic and its plastic. We can produce the yoga mat with some natural material. Otherwise, you can have your yoga mat and put a kuśa grass mat on it, or a linen cloth. That is very, very good. Though it is your own plastic yoga mat, if you put some pure cotton on it, it is a protection. Many of you practice at home with little dress on your body and lie down on the plastic. You think you are relaxing and charging energy, but this plastic mat resists and does not let the energy go into your body, positive or negative energy. We made an experiment yesterday, last week. Once, our Dr. Sādhvī Swāmī Śāntījī traveled through the Himalayas for 14 years and found the caves of Śrī Devapurījī and Ālapurījī. Anyhow, she was once making experiments. She was in some seminar, and they saw the difference, the effect of the plastic and nature. So we need perhaps some—if you have an apple here, or a banana, or a peach, any fruits, or a piece of wood, a little thick wood—we can, okay, bring somebody. And at the same time, bring me some plastic bags. Okay, very good, thank you. Is it a little like a thick one? No, this I can eat, okay? Okay, very good. Now, yeah, plastic, yeah. Okay, very good. Nothing inside. A little more. A little bit more. A little more. It is red plastic, yes, yes, this red one. Okay, now is enough. Now is enough, okay? Okay, so now what we do is a kind of experiment. There are two men or two girls, strong girls or strong gentlemen, come here. Yes, okay, so you stand here, and in the other hand you hold the apple. Like this, or like this. Okay, relax. Okay, and now this hand like this. Very good. Okay, now you go this, and a little slowly. You are too strong, man, so try to push him down. Okay, yes. Okay, more, once more. Either hand like this, yes, yeah, give. More strength, okay, yeah, okay, good. Now with this one, give me the apple, hold it. Now how much strength is, yeah, yeah, so you should give the normal like this. So what is the difference, yeah? And now this apple, which... Is a strong plastic or the apple all right? Where you now, we do the ladies question them, yeah, okay. So who will be the pushing? You will push, you understand English, okay? No, don't touch. One, hey, no, no... Your hand away, no, no... without hand, yes. Okay, now the apple. No, no... This would be in the hand. Give me here, give me here. Hey, give me here. Strong, okay? Moment, yes. Thank you. And now the plastic in that hand, yeah? This is real, okay? Don't go against the masters, okay? Anyhow, who's... who's these plastics? Anyhow. So you think that when you are practicing yoga and lie down on the yoga mat, mostly at home, that you have less dress and lie down on the plastic, you recharge the plastic energy electronics. Therefore, number one: first, even if it is very hot temperature, do not take your dress away. Or only one t-shirt and a little small trouser, that you get wrong energy. Therefore, it is a principle that you should have proper dress. You have yoga trousers, at least till your ankle joint, and the shirt. Then we have mostly all a pure cotton yoga dress. That is why most yoga in their life, people are healthy. And second, you should put a cotton linen under the yoga mat or put on your plastic yoga mat because it is softer, and then put one kuśāsana and put on the kuśāsana. A little cotton towel or something, and then you will feel energy. When you work in the office and come back home, you are exhausted, stressed, many things. You lie down on this yoga mat, made of cotton, kuśa grass, etc., then you will recharge more energy, and you said practice here also. You should have your own little yoga mat, a thin cloth which you put on the mattress. So, a yoga mat is very, very important. What kind of yoga mat do you have? Nowadays, all people who are making advertising from the yoga magazines or anything, what they are doing—all the young people who are 20 years, 18 years, 25 years, or 30 years, flexible boys or girls—and second, more than half they are naked. That is not good for your yoga practice. Your body should be covered. What happens is that you are recharging what is called biofeed energy. This energy remains in your body, and you are getting it. So, a very, very important subject is the cloth, the dress you have. Not that you look beautiful—you have good, beautiful legs and thighs and buttocks, and further on. Such an advertising magazine paper, just tear it and throw it away. Another thing we should know is how far we can twist or stress our body. Again, we have young kids, but now we have people above 60, 70 years, 80 years, and we cannot twist our bodies like that. Of course we can, not once, twice, and that's the first time and the last time. So, yoga, we need more, we need elderly people, and therefore we should put such postures where the elderly people dare to start or begin to practice yoga. If one person, let's say about 80 years old, feels very old—though 80 years is not old, it is just the best life time—but you have more kilos and feel this and that. In one year, you will feel completely different, like you were about 40 years, but everyday practicing, practicing systematically. That is why we call the system yoga, and daily life, and of course diet. We should have a very good vegetarian diet. This is how we charge the energy, and we can retreat, make our body retreat. That's called kāya kalpa. Do not make competition in yoga. I do not believe in challenge or competition, but practice and do something for your body. So, now you are sitting; we have enough space here now. Next time when you sit, you should have at least half a meter from you and half a meter from the other in this space. And what we said, this is one who comes every day, taking something from me and then going. So today is okay, but tomorrow try to put your yoga mat in one line. Every side we should make like here. Now we are sitting like an arch, like a half moon, or we can make it straight this side and then straight this side. You will feel very good. There are some people, like me, very much sweating and not changing dress and sitting like that, and the other one is sitting beside you, so you are sitting close, but you are leaning this side, and the other side is also the same thing. So, let us have a space between, let the prāṇa flow, and we are sitting on the grass, beautiful. So, we shall do this, no touching. You don't know how much energy you have from someone else in your body. That energy is an obstacle for your spiritual development and for your mokṣa. How much energy are you carrying in your body? That's it. There is another subject I will tell about after. So this, our seminar, is for retreating our body. We get that spirituality, developing positive thoughts, etc. And you know, we have now one of our Paṇḍitjī, and he is a very great, learned person with mantras, and he is trying to push away or send away many, many ghosts. Before the First World War, there were many, many wars in Hungary, in Europe, the bad times when the kingdoms, and you know how cruel they were. The humans were tortured, screaming, and like this. It was so, you know, we have here one castle. When you go around the castle and near the castle, you see the condition of the castle, but now, the last 25 years, being your... being all of you here, you purified this part of the earth and that castle also. Otherwise, before 20 or 23 years, there was a completely different atmosphere. So if you believe or you don't believe, believe or not believe does not change the reality. There are suffering souls, tortured souls, and they are searching for something spiritual, positive, and those mantras, those ceremonies. What you are chanting every day helps, so keep distance. Tomorrow, I will see how you are doing, so don't give the chance to again repeat the same lecture. The day after tomorrow will be again the same lecture, till you don't realize. There are certain points; they are very sensitive, so I will not touch still, but purification through mantras, meditation, and we have to come to purify malavikṣepa āvaraṇas, and what we call manas, buddhi, citta, ahaṅkāras, many things, so energy. You have energy, but your energy is now very tired because your energy is tortured through all these pollutions, all these electronic waves, and all these different kinds of pesticides, eatings, when we will come there. When you are coming now to the Himalayas with me, to Alāgapurījī's cave, you will see there what that energy is. Of course, many people will be completely exhausted; they will forget the spirituality; they will say, "Oh my God, I hope I come to Rishikesh." Yes, there is a difference in the height, so the altitude is different. Therefore, this week, you should practice more prāṇāyāma. When you go walking, also talk less and inhale, and with each breath, half mantra in and half mantra out. Let your lungs expand. Yes. Someone said their lungs are so thin, and if they are expanded, it is like a whole foot of wall can be covered. It's like a fog, yes, and we have to take care of that. So, prāṇāyāma, try to get out all the pollution from the alcohols, from hashish. Yes, there are many things. So, welcome once more, and try to get energy on your yoga mat. After practicing your āsanas and prāṇāyāms, do not take a shower quickly immediately. Let this energy remain. The best is, before you should make a shower, do everything, and then do the exercises also. Empty stomach is the best. All right, you have any question? That I know, don't know? Okay, this is for you. Put electric cable on it. There is no natural rubber; it's all chemicals. Is it from the trees, you know? And how many trees are destroyed? So, do not buy such rubber things. It's a gummy tree, you know, what we call. All right, then wish you all the best and enjoy this week, and now we will sing one nice bhajan. Our dear Gaṅgāpurī will sing one very nice bhajan. Chant, chant. God bless you.
