Darshan

Darśan is a supreme level of yoga, the act of seeing and merging with the divine. We seek holy places and altars for this complete vision. The journey itself transforms our awareness into the object of our devotion, whether a place, a deity, or a saint. Through constant remembrance and feeling, we develop the same radiance and aura, becoming one with it. This principle is universal across all pilgrimages. The stories illustrate that correct understanding and protocol are essential. True darśan is ultimately found in the Guru, who embodies all divine aspects.

"While thinking from home till Jerusalem, your consciousness, your energy, your awareness is converted into Jesus. Because you come to this darśan."

"Gurur Brahmā, Gurur Viṣṇu, Gurur Devo Maheśvaraḥ, Gurur Sākṣāt Parabrahma."

Filming location: Strilky, Czech Republic

Śrīdīp Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān Kṛṣṇa. Devādhideva, Devīśvara Mahādeva Kṛṣṇa. Satguru Swami Madhavānandajī Bhagavān Kṛṣṇa. Satya Sanātana Dharma Kṛṣṇa. Good morning to everybody. You have so many faculties here, and it takes time to transfer from one faculty to another. There is one faculty called the coffee house, and that is also at a distance. That’s all right. Also today, the weather is changing a little, so we cannot sit outside. First we were under the trees in nature, then we had to change to the hall. How lucky we are. How blessed we are that our anuṣṭhāna will be successful. We have a divine altar, and this divine altar darśan is rare. We are selfish, and we always like to choose according to the weather. We were all the times outside, meaning in the park, in the meadow, and now a little rain is expected, but we have our beautiful darśan. So what is a darśan? This is also a subject of your yoga in daily life. Darśan is a subject of not only what we call yoga, but darśan is one of the highest levels of yoga. So I would like to speak about darśana. You have to have a darśan, and therefore there is a beautiful bhajan everyone knows. But the essence of this bhajan, which we will translate, let it be on the darśan. All bhaktas around the world should also have the darśan. Now I will tell you about darśan. Everyone goes for holy pilgrimages. You go to the four holy places which are in India. They declare you go to the darśana of Jesus’ birthplace. But darśan should be complete, not half. Our cameraman showed only half of Mahāprabhujī and Śaṅkarācārya, a little, and they should show the whole altar. This is a training now here for the cameraman, so I am doing all the lessons together, that’s it. There was a king, and people did not trust the bodyguard of the king. It happens from time to time. So they trained one monkey, a big langur, to be a bodyguard of the king in his sleeping room. No one should enter unless the king allowed it. And they are hiding half the picture of Mahāprabhujī, holy Gurujī. What do they have against the Gurujī? Hey, cameraman, go a little to this side. Move your camera more to your left side. So that is a lesson I’m telling you about the bodyguard of the king. That monkey was given a sword. The order was that if anyone enters or disturbs the king, without any delay, that monkey should kill that person. Yes, order is order. Training is training. Now the king is sleeping and the monkey is standing nearby. Then a fly comes and sits on the toes of the king, and the king moves his toe. The fly then sits on his hand, and the monkey was making noise. This bloody fly disturbs the king’s sleep. So the monkey took his sword like this, and when the fly sat on the top of the king’s nose, chick—the fly did fly away, but not only the fly; the nose of the king was also cut. Hari Omtasar. That is how, if one doesn’t understand training, then it’s very dangerous. Therefore, do you understand me? Who didn’t understand this story? Good. Who didn’t understand? Today we have to go to the lake that is fifteen kilometers away and swim there for five hours. Thank you. Now, when you go to Jerusalem, you go from home. Why? Because it’s a holy place. You go to the airport, you sit in the airport, you land in Israel, then you take a bus or taxi, or walk. All the time, in your mind, what is in your mind? Jesus. Jesus. Holy place. Holy place. While thinking from home till Jerusalem, your consciousness, your energy, your awareness is converted into Jesus. Because you come to this darśan. When you go to Badrināth, then you go through the mountains and everything, the Himālaya. Many people walk barefoot with no transport. It takes one month, one and a half months, two months. But they are all the time repeating the mantra: Badrī Nārāyaṇam, Badrī Nārāyaṇam, or other holy places. So now, I’m talking about darśan. Don’t put your head down. Sit straight, everybody. Military order. Relax, attention, that’s it. The radiance of that holy place or holy saint is called that aura. And when we have feelings in our heart and in our intellect, in our awareness, for that holy place—we are repeating the name, we know, we are thinking, we are going to Jāradānā, we are going to Holī Gurujī Samādhi—there, in our body, develops that kind of energy, aura, the radiance. So we become one with that. In Islam, they go to the Hajj, Mecca, Medina. You know with how deep feeling they are going. Until they come, that energy, that radiance, that atmosphere develops in the whole body. You go to Kedarnath, Bhagavan Śiva’s temple, and then you make a parikramā. What means a parikrama? Parikrama is that you are now circling, swimming in this energy. That energy, that aura of the Kedārnāth Bhagavān Śiva, is entering your whole being. Then, from all darśan, where is one other darśan? It was long ago, in Satya Yuga, more than Satya Yuga’s times. There was a decision: who is the first God to be? They were choosing and choosing, and then they put Gaṇeśa and who was that? Kartikeya. They chose Ganesha and... Kartikeya. Kārttikeya was the elder brother of Gaṇeśa. So these two: Kārttikeya was like a warrior, and Gaṇeśa was the dayālu, kṛpālu. So there was then a challenge: which should be the first god? The challenge was, who will make a parikramā around the whole globe and who will come first. That one will be chosen as the first god. So Kārttikeya sat on the peacock bird, and with the peacock, he was flying around the globe. Gaṇeśa was a little spoiled child. Right. Yes. No. Okay. So Gaṇeśa had a big stomach, a heavy body, and was walking slowly. Meanwhile, Kārttikeya was already a quarter area across. But Gaṇeśa is known as a buddhī, intellect. That’s why elephants have great intellect, Buddhi. Oh, the elephant stories are very beautiful. Now Gaṇeśa, he wants to walk, but it takes time. Ganesha’s buddhi, and he said, "My whole globe, my world, is my mother and my father. My parikramā around my mother and my father is the parikramā of the whole, not only the globe, but the whole universe. My mother is the whole universe. There is nothing more than my mother." So he made a parikramā, he made a pūjā, and with folded hands he said, "I did my parikramā." And they chose and gave this holy seat to Gaṇeśajī. Then came Kārttikeya. There was a little bit of family quarreling, but Gaṇeśa told his brother, "You can have everything, but not." So he gave the kingdom to Kārttikeya, the whole of South India and Sri Lanka, and all this. And Kārttikeya moved there. In South India, they worship Kārttikeya more than Gaṇeśa. But of course, they celebrate Gaṇeśa also very much. And Bhagavān Śiva gave the promise that every full moon or amāvasyā, Bhagavān Śiva will come to Kārte. And Pūrṇimā, every Pūrṇimā. But Gaṇeśa was chosen as the first god. So he is the highest authority. Even Shiva, who makes any pūjā or anything, has to remember, invite—like our Paṇḍitjī is saying, āvāhan. What means āvāhan? Inviting. So even Śiva himself has to worship Ganesha first, invite Ganesha. Therefore, always first wish, remember Gaṇeśa. Then your work will be perfect. If you’ve forgotten, then he’s not responsible. Second story: the chariot of Gaṇeśa is a mouse. Now, Ganesha is so big, like an elephant, and how will he ride a mouse? That time, the mouse was also bigger. In Kali Yuga, everything is getting smaller and smaller. Everything is getting a microphone. Everything is smaller and smaller. About ten years, not even ten years, ten or twelve years, the first mobile phone was about two and a half kilos, hanging like a water thermos. One of my disciples from Brno, her name was Verushka, and her husband Pavel, wanted to buy this telephone for me. It was very modern. I said it’s too heavy; I will wait. And now it is even less than 100 grams. So from that Satyuga to Kali Yuga, everything is getting minimized. Yes, that time, long life, and now we are sixty, fifty, sixty-five years, and we are now at the end of our life. Well, don’t think that Śiva is always happy and everything is okay. Shiva also went through many situations, but with a smile. He knows. So he let the people, the children. Satī died. Satī died, and after a very long time, she was reborn as Pārvatī and was determined to marry Śiva. He had all kinds of people: devas, rākṣasas, animals, all, ghosts. All are happy with Shiva. So when you worship Shiva in your house, no ghost or negative force will come. They will only do good to you. Well, the Bharat. What do you call Bharat? Also, the wedding party went. But what happens? The chariot of Śiva sinks into the earth. The horses also fall into the earth, the elephants also, people also, and they try to pull out. They go 10 meters, and then again they go down. What happens? Shiva said, "What happens with the earth? We change the way." They change the way. After 10 minutes, they again say the same thing. Then Brahmā said, "Bhagavān Śivajī, did you invite Gaṇeśa?" "No, not necessary." "That’s why this is happening. What do you mean, Brahmā? Ganesha is angry and offended, and he sent his army, all the mice. They went underground and made holes everywhere. So if you want to reach your wife at the wedding place, then invite Ganeshajī." So Bhagavān Śiva said, "Gaṇeśajī said, ’Please, don’t do this to me. I am your father.’" He said, "Yes, Lord, I am with you, but rules are rules." Protocol is a protocol. The Croatian president always used to say, whenever we were meeting, we could negotiate with the terrorists, but not with the protocol. So that’s the power of Gaṇeśa. So Darśan, I’m talking about Darśan, and only five minutes remain. So, Darśan is not only the altar; your old bhaktas are a darśan now. And you should know that I am also sitting for a darśan. The cameraman, yes. So, people are waiting, and Swāmījī doesn’t appear in the film. Okay, it looks like that. Like that, okay, good. So, Darśan, I will tell you in the evening satsaṅg again. Therefore, it seems it. It is said, "Guru Deva Darśan Dhanāhu." So, one in all and all in one. Therefore, it is said, "Guru Brahmā." Guru is the Brahmā. Brahmā is the knowledge and creator. That intellect, that knowledge creates. That is Brahmā. So the energy, the blessing of Gurudeva creates within us positive thoughts, spiritual thoughts, etc., etc. And then, Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu—the protector or the sustenance is Vishnu. So the Gurudev within us, with that knowledge, that bhakti, Vishnu bhakti, is protecting us. And Gurudev Maheśvara, and that is Śiva, takes care of the positive and destroys the āsurī śaktis. Shiva is not a destructor. He is a protector. He is a creator, and he is a destructor or liberator. Gurur Brahmā, Gurur Viṣṇu, Gurur Devo Maheśvaraḥ, Gurur Sākṣāt Parabrahma. So Viṣṇu, Brahmā, and Śiva—above that is Parabrahma. So Gurur Parabrahma, that Guru Tattva. So if you make prayer, and this all, you have all the darśana of all holy places. You have to have that feeling that you are going now from here to India: getting a visa, aeroplane, customs, border, bus, mosquitoes, trucks, hordes, walking, heels up, heels down. But all this, you want to become one with that. Then you are not two. As you get separate feelings, then you are not that. So, Guru Brahma, Guru Viṣṇu, Guru Devo, Maheśvara, Guru Sākṣāt, Parabrahma, Tasmai, Śrī Guruve Namaḥ. Then what to do? Where should we go? Which holy place should we go to? Meditate on the embodiment of the Gurudeva. Pūjā mūlaṁ guru pādam, worship the holy feet of the Gurudeva. Mokṣa mūlaṁ guru kṛpā. After all that—Viṣṇu, Brahmā, Śiva—finally the liberation is that Guru Kṛpā, he gave a love. That’s why. Alak Purījī Mahādev, Devādhī Dev, Devīśvar Mahādev, Dīp Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān, Satguru Swami Madhavān Jī Bhagavān, Satyāśāntānanda, Om Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinaḥ, Sarve Santu Nirmāyāḥ, Om Śāntiḥ, Śāntiḥ,... Hiraṇyavatu.
