Diwali festival

India is the cradle of culture and spirituality. Its traditions, language, and festivals are profound. Yet, its people have forgotten their heritage, becoming slaves to foreign languages. No nation that abandons its native tongue retains its identity. Language is the vessel of culture; when it is lost, the culture perishes. Preserve your mother tongue to protect your spiritual foundation. The soul takes a human birth for righteousness. If you call your father 'Papa,' a word sounding like 'sin,' you blackmail your own consciousness toward hell. Use the sacred words for mother and father. This simple practice safeguards the entire culture. Western disciples guard their own traditions diligently. Indians must reclaim their dress, language, and customs to restore the nation's spiritual glory.

"Lucky are they, blessed are they, fortunate ones are they who are born in holy Bhārat."

"If you take care of these two words, then you will save the Sanskrit language of India. And that is the mother and the father."

Om Śrī Alagapurījī Mahādev kī, Devādhi Deva, Deveśvara Mahādev kī, Harādhi Bhagavān Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Mahāprabhujī kī, Hindu Dharma Samrāṭ, Satguru Śrī Svāmī Madhavānandajī Bhagavān kī, Satya Sanātana Dharma kī, Śyāvara Rāmacandra Bhagavān kī, Bhārat Mātā kī, Rām Nāmasa. Yesterday was the day we worshipped the divine Lakṣmī—prosperity, wealth, good health, peace, harmony, and the divine. Continuing, as I said yesterday, India is a cradle of culture. India is the mother of spirituality. India is the father of religion. India has many holy rivers, mountains, and trees, and all festivals in India are very beautiful. It is a religion of happiness, a religion of joy, a religion of brotherhood. It is a religion of peace and a religion of unity. Lucky are they, blessed are they, fortunate ones are they who are born in holy Bhārat. Now, there is one point to make here. Because when one speaks, one has to speak the truth. Long ago, when I came back from Europe, some visitors from other countries came with me, about 10-15 years ago, and we traveled through Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, etc. After one week, one European said to me and Swāmījī, "When we go to India..." I said, "Swāmījī, where is India? When are we going? You were telling about India. So when will we go to India?" I said, we are in India: Jaipur, Agra, Delhi, Jodhpur, etc. He said, "Whatever you say about India, nothing is visible. What you were saying about India, Bhārat, but we don’t see anything like that." I said, yes, you are right, because I’m not talking about the modern way of the Indians living. Bharat is Bharat. India, the mother India, is a mother India, but people have changed. They’ve forgotten their culture, they’ve forgotten their traditions, and they are the slaves of the English language. And the English language is okay, good, but not like Sanskrit, not like Hindi. And of course, the British countries do not have those kinds of festivals and freedom like in Bhārat, in India. I always used to say to my people in India, they should not lose their culture. There’s one word, but in Hindi, I don’t know how to translate it into English. Main inko batānā nahīṁ cāhtā hūṁ. Waisa śabda, wo yeh hai ki goḍe ko gaḍe ke sāth kiyā. Toh hamārī bhāṣā, hamārī saṁskṛti chhoḍ ke, hamārī bhāṣā toḍ ke, āp aṅgrejī bhāṣā bolte ho. Koi baap nahi, jaroor boli, achcha hai. But you will not become an Englishman, and they will not accept you as an Englishman. Neither will you become an Indian, nor will you become a British. I will not call you a dirty person. There is no such country in the world that leaves the language of that country and speaks a different language. In Italy, when Italy is on the border of Austria and Germany, on the other side, English is also close to British. Here, near Slovenia, but when Italians meet each other, they will only speak Italian, although they have studied German, they also know English, but Italian only. The French and British, they get the English border. But the French never speak English. Have you learned? If necessary, they can speak. Otherwise, they don’t speak a single English word, Hungary and Yugoslavia. Ex-Yugoslavia, now Croatia, Slovenia, etc. But Hungarians will never speak Croatian or the Yugoslavian language. If necessary, some people who came to Yugoslavia speak both languages. But those who speak Hungarian, even though they live in Croatia or Serbia, they will speak only Hungarian in their society. Czechoslovakia and Poland are different; Germany is different. So, what I mean to say is that in the country we have to move forward in and protect the culture of, then first of all, our language is necessary to protect our culture. When our language is left, then you cannot take up any other language and country. You are sitting here. Some of you must be speaking Punjabi, some of you must be speaking Gujarati, some of you must be learning to speak English, some of you must be learning to speak Bengali. But if you have a dream at night, in which language do you see your dreams? You will only see dreams in your mother tongue. If someone comes in English and you see them in dreams, will you speak in Hindi with them? So this is our culture. The culture of every society, every country, that culture is within them. In our India, our brothers who are Hindus, when they go for Hajj in the Middle East, they have to give a form that states whether you are a Muslim or not. So, which Muslim are you? So they have to write that we are Hindu-Muslims. I am not lying, and as far as I have heard, it is not true that they give cow’s blood to all of them. That, if you are a Muslim, then drink cow’s blood. I have heard that, but I don’t know. For this, I cannot tell you. The Muslims who are Indian, Hindu, and have become Muslims, they don’t call their father a father. There are crores of Muslims in the whole of India, but they never call their father "father." Why? Because they don’t have their language. His language is Quran. Along with Quran, there is Urdu. So even we here in Pachim and Uttar Prant, we speak Hindi. So why do you speak Papa? Our Papa language means, I am talking. I wanted to speak in English because many people around the world, they want to listen what Swāmījī is talking, but I am telling you a little bit to protect the Indian culture. There is one called Paramātmā, the ultimate, the supreme, the God. So that ātmā is the quality, or is the Paramātmā. But when the Paramātmā comes, then we give it Jīvātmā. Jīva hotā hai, 84 lakh jīva yonā mein ek manuṣya bhī hai, mānav jātī bhī hai. To ātmā and ātmā kā miśraṇ ko kehtā hai Jīvātmā. Now that jīva, when it comes to this world of Ghosts, it connects with five elements, then it becomes a body. So, according to the action that is done, that jīvā goes inside that animal. You become a fish, a mosquito, a buffalo, a goat, a dog, a bird, a human, a woman, a man. According to your karma, wherever the wind blows, you will go there only. Your flag, wherever your karma is, you will go according to that karma. So that Jīva which is present in the human body, what does it say? Jīvātmā came into the human body. Now, that soul enters into the body of the five elements. So when it comes to the human body, it is said that it is Dharmātmā. What is it? If your mother does any work, then say, "My mother is a dharma ātmā." If your father does any work, then say, "My father is a dharma ātmā." And if he does a bad work, or a bad work, or a sin, or not doing anything, then say, "Papa ātmā, that he is a sinner. He is a dharma ātmā, and he is a dharma ātmā. He is dharma ātmā." Where does God go? He goes to heaven. And Papa goes to hell. But in hell, too, he has not yet opened the door. There is a waiting list. Today, there are so many Papas who have a waiting list. Our Muslims call them Abā. What do they call their father? And he says, "Where are you, Papa?" Now you are saying "papa", so there is a word in English. Why? You people know English more than me, so you say, "Hey, blackmailer, what is it?" Blackmailer, he says, "Hey, son," he says, "he is a blackmailer." Blackmailer is not a word in Hindi, it is in English. So, blackmailer means, in your brain, some kind of... You can become an enemy by blackmailing the person who was your good friend. So it is called blackmailing. Now, your child, whether it is your daughter or your son, he says to you, "Papa," then Papa, Ātmā. When Harvati gets up, Papa, the car will go to hell. This has become blackmailing for you, your consciousness, your love. You love your children, everything. So wherever your child will take you, you will go there itself; then you are going to hell. Say, do a lot of preparation, do a lot of meditation, do everything, but the language is also Brahma Akṣara. Śabda Brahma hai, Akṣara Brahma hai, to wo śabda Hindwān ke liye ya us jāti ke liye. Agar aapke santān ya aapke mātā-pitā keval vo itnī bhāṣā hī bolte haiṁ, to aap usko bhī itnī bhāṣā meṁ boldo. Kali wo aapke mahabab keval aṅgrejī hī bolte haiṁ, aap aṅgrejī bolo to bolīye. Aṅgrejī bhāṣā bhī bekār nahī̃ hai, kharāb nahī̃ hai, bahut achchhī bhāṣā hai. But that scoundrel, that poor scoundrel, will continue to walk on the path of sin. Now, if you call your father a sinner, "My father must have gone to heaven, but my father is nowhere to be found." And my Gurudev is there. If your son or daughter says, "Papa, get ready, I am going to hell." If the people of India teach two words to their children, then our culture will be saved. Which one? Māta ca pitā, isn’t it right? Tameva māta ca pitā tameva, tameva bandhuś ca sakhā tameva, tameva vidyā draviṇaṁ tameva, tameva sarvaṁ. My parents are all happy. Now they say, "Hi, Dad. Papa, hello. Oh, you are dead, you are dead." And, "Hi, Mom." The situation does not change. When the policeman comes out, the dead body is lying on the floor. The mother is lying on the floor. Why are you doing this to your mother? But see, only to save the culture of India, to save our culture, women are the only thing we have today. And men have become men. Why not? If men understand the culture of India, then they would have worn a turban and a dhoti and come to Rajasthan. But today, I feel ashamed that, Babaji, don’t you have any grandchildren? Bring some grandchildren. Where did Rajasthan’s turban go? Mahārāj Jagadīś only tied the grandchildren in half a minute. Why can’t it be done? I came to the court of Jodhpur and tied my grandson for him. I tied him in a minute. You are from Rajasthan. You can’t even walk two or three steps, so don’t go. Why do you have to walk two or three steps? You have spoiled your culture. What do we hope for? What does our mother India hope for? That mother is crying, "What is my child doing? Where has my child gone?" Rajputi, Ramti went across the sea. Rajputī and Sanskritī went across the sea. Because if the king of the kingdom had lived, then who would have the courage to go to the village to talk nonsense? He didn’t get tired of it. He didn’t get tired of it. He didn’t get tired of it. Kūṭiyo is to protect our culture. Kootiyo is to protect our culture. He didn’t say that Aṅgadhā Mātā doesn’t have any words. But it is our culture. We have to protect our culture. Only then will our spiritual power remain. Only then can the culture of India be saved. Only then can the culture of India be saved. It is said that he went away. The river in which you are bathing, you cannot bathe in it twice. The river in which you want to bathe, in that river where you are bathing, you cannot bathe twice. You will drown, you will come back in the water, until that water goes away. Now the second water will come, then the second drowning will take place. In the same way, our culture has gone, and our behavior has gone. So it’s gone, now something else will come. Therefore, all my disciples from the Western culture are very alert about their culture. They have not lost their culture. They have not lost their culture. Only they have lost that culture of dressing, and with them, you also have lost. When I was little, about four or five years old, we had a drama. So in drama, the Mahārājas used to come, the best people used to come, and the rich people used to come. They used to wear nice dhotīs, they used to wear turbans, they used to sit, they used to wear a mask, and then they used to come and bring the robbers. They used to come and wear that kind of clothes, they used to come and wear that kind of clothes, they used to come and wear that kind of clothes... Good morning, sir. I’m here, and he’s... yes, please, come take a seat. Oh, how are you, my dear friend? You give up? This is the thing. And if someone goes to the office of the sir, his grandchild or sister goes and says, "Rām Rām, sir." He says they are sitting outside. I will call them. And the second one comes and says, "Good morning, sir." I am an engineer. Yes, please come and take a seat. How much of our culture have we fallen from? Therefore, I am preparing them because they have influenced you, the Westerners, and now I have to change the Westerners to bring the Indian culture back again. And now you will see that our Mahā Maṇḍaleśvar ban gaye hai. Mahā Maṇḍaleśvar is not easy. Not an easy thing, the highest level in my sanyās and Ādigurū Bhagavān Śaṅkarācārya Jasrājī knows everything. He’s born in the Christian families, but now he realized. He knows what is the Indian culture, and now you will see. How he will explain and spread, in front of you, the Indian culture? He will speak a few minutes, five minutes, and then he will... I don’t know what he will do. Dharam Samrāṭ Paramahaṁs Śrī Svāmī Madhavānandapurā Jī Mahārāj Jī Kī Jai, Viśva Guru Mahāmaṇḍaleśvar Paramahaṁs Śrī Svāmī Maheśvarānandapurā Jī Satguru Dev Kī Jai. Hari Om. Firstly, I would like to wish everyone a happy Diwali and a happy new year. May everyone get such blessings from Bābājī that the whole year will be successful. It’s Diwali. You want it closer? Is that better? To everybody here coming from different countries and to all of those on the webcast. It’s been a long time since I got to say hello on the webcast. So, Hari Om. Happy Diwali. And it’s very nice to see everybody here. I think many of you will have got by email Swāmījī’s Dīvālī message, and in his Dīvālī message and blessing, he said how it was up to everybody to bring the peace, the understanding, and the love to everybody in the world. Last night, Swamiji was talking about the deepak, these are the lights that we put around on Diwali, and the significance of it with Lord Rāma coming back to Ayodhyā, and the fact that it was a... One minute more in English. And the fact that it was the Amāvasyā, the dark moon, and they put the lights so that Rāma could see as he came in the nighttime. And then if you put that with Swamijī’s Dīvālī message, He said how it’s up to all of us to give that forgiveness and that love and that understanding, and make that brotherhood and sisterhood and that connection between all people of all races. Of all cultures, of all religions, and bring everybody together. And I always think of Diwali in that way, that it may seem that we can’t do very much, but just like one small lamp, when we forgive someone, or when we help someone, or when we give someone a smile, or some nice thoughts, or some help. Then it’s also one of those small lamps that brings light to everybody. So it’s a very special time of year to do something for everyone that’s around us, to forgive everyone for what happened in the year that’s passed, and to really start this year in a very positive way, with compassion and understanding for everybody that’s around. All over the world through email for Diwali. In this, Bābājī has said that today it is very important that there is peace among all. That everyone should forgive. Everyone should give their support. Everyone is from different cultures, different religions, and different thoughts, but still, everyone is one family. We have all come from foreign countries, and we are influenced by your culture. But there is one principle that Bābājī always teaches us, and that is Vasudeva Kuṭumbakam. And what Bābājī was saying in his message is the same. We all live in different places, we all come from different countries, but we are all one family. If we don’t love everyone, if we don’t forgive everyone, if we don’t help everyone, then why shouldn’t our family do it? That’s why I hope that everyone will take this direction of Gurujī on Dīvālī and the coming year. They will look at everyone from a different perspective. That this is my family. Whatever they need, we have to help them. When they make a mistake, first of all, we have to forgive them. The one who needs love, we should give it to them. We are all like small lamps, but when we do everything, these lights that look so beautiful on Diwali, everyone in the village and in the city feels so good. We are not like Surya; we cannot change like Babaji. But we can try in our smallest form. The world will change, there will be peace, there will be heaven. As Babājī says, the old culture has happened; it will come back. As Babājī has just said, if you take care of these two words, then you will save the Sanskrit language of India. And that is the mother and the father. It is a small thing, but it has a big effect. With the permission of Bābājī, I will say some bhajans. Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān Kī Jai.
